Linux is more secure than Windows or Mac partly in due to its Open Source Nature. Fun fact Mac is now outpacing Windows in the volume of Malware found per Endpoint (computer). Linux however is not immune to Malware. Since only around 5% of all computer users fun Linux it's a less desirable target for malicious hackers. On top of that the various Distributions of Linux make it more challenging to write malware. But it does happen. Open Source is life, as is Linux.
