Rainbow dash does deserve her element and she really represent loyalty, Being loyal doesn’t mean doing everything your friend says.

Guys, you gotta remember that this video was made back during season 4, and Rainbow's had a lot of time to mature in the past 5 seasons. At this time, she still made a lot of mistakes against her element, and Sawtooth (or... I guess Brony Notion at the time) had more evidence that she was more honest than loyal. In hindsight we know that she just had room to grow, but at the time she seemed a bit unfitting for her element.

She proved it countless times. Go re-watch the show. It'll prove you wrong. Also, there's a huge difference between sticking with someone for no reason even when they're doing something you think is wrong, and being loyal to who you think deserves it. That's what RD does ALL THE TIME.

She does deserve her element. I mean nobody is supposed to be "Perfect" of course she can be a little self conceited sometimes but that doesn't mean she's a bad character. I honestly understand what your trying to say but she deserves the element. Throughout the episodes she was loyal in some shows. But even if she wasn't she eventually would find her ways so just leave her alone. In my opinion, she is the one who made the show very interesting. I'm not trying to be rude to your opinion or anything but she definitely deserves the element. When the producers made the show they had to think about what element should suit pony best. They had chosen rainbow dash to have the element for loyal only for one reason. Their the ones who made rainbow dashes personality, if they knew from the beginning rainbow dash isn't loyal then they would of just gave her the element of honesty to start with. Rainbow deserves her element because she has done so many things that involve loyalty that she just doesn't seem to get credit for and loyalty dose not always mean you have to be right with your friends every second

Rainbow dash gets so much hate for her element, when in reality she embodies it perfectly. Time and time again we see Rainbow get offered something that she wants, deserves, and has worked for her entire life, and she always turns it down to do the right thing. But that doesn’t mean its easy. And that’s one of the reasons I find her to embody her element so well. The fact that she struggles and her situations and still chooses to do the right thing is amazing, especially considering how many people say she’s selfish. Being the embodiment of an element doesn’t mean it’ll always come easy. Applejack lied a lot, and sometimes found accepting and telling the truth hard, but did it anyways. It may just be my opinion but I think that Rainbow is a perfect representation of loyalty.

I know this video is older, but it just came up for me and I wanted to add something. I agree with a lot of the comments here that even at this point in the show, Rainbow Dash is clearly very loyal to both her friends and her ideals. As for Applejack and honesty, I think you are taking the idea of honesty too literally. Being honest is not just blurting out the absolute truth at all times with no consideration for anyone's feelings. Applejack embodies honesty because she is always her authentic self. Rainbow tends to boast and brag because she wants to be seen as the best and is not the most honest about her weakness. Authenticity is what makes Applejack really fit the element of honesty in my opinion.

She left the wonderbolts because she had to be loyal to her friends. Everypony knows that she represents loyalty for her friends!!!

Well when you mentioned that episode, "Griffon Brush-off" and how Rainbow Dash ignored Pinkie Pie, she totally redeemed herself in the end how she completely cuts off a friend that's she's known since childhood (fillyhood) just for Pinkie Pie and her friends. It's really hard to do that especially someone who you used to view as a good friend and someone your very close to.

These are some instances that showcased Rainbow’s loyalty. Now, let’s talk about the argument: “she leaves her friends/responsibilities so often” and “she does what SHE wants to do.”


Loyalty is claiming a strong allegiance/ support to (in this case) one’s friends and home. That’s what it is. What people often see loyalty as is blindly following your friends’ decisions no matter what. That’s not loyalty, that is a terrible lifestyle and I don’t know why people mix it up with loyalty.

Let’s look at the movie. Some people saw Rainbow as unfaithful because she left Twilight after her outburst, but are you forgetting the fact that she went with her other friends? Just because Twilight was the character making the mistake, doesn’t mean that she’s the one that deserved the loyalty of RD.

And yes, she does do what she wants to do, there is something called being loyal to yourself, which means doing what you want to do. Loyalty isn’t dropping every single desire and dream for your friends, that’s again, a pretty nasty relationship. That’s like saying that Fluttershy can never get rude sometimes because her element requires to be sweet to her friends constantly. No. Loyalty is not a black and white concept.

And people get upset over the fact that RD kept leaving the cheerleaders in 2, 4, 6 Greaaat (even if she was simply doing what SHE wanted to), but ignore the fact that she was literally willing to drop her dream job (Wonderbolt Academy) and dream of flying with the Wonderbolts (Rarity Investigates and Rainbow Falls) for her friends like whaaaaaT

Loyalty is an incredibly difficult part of friendship because it constantly puts you in a position of: “do I do what I want to do, or follow them?” And “who do I choose to follow?” And, “when should I stop listening and do what’s best for me?” It’s an endless battle between the support of oneself and others, it is hard to come off as a good person.

Rainbow deserves her element just as much as the other girls.

Rainbow has always stayed with her friends throughout the series, now THAT is loyalty.

Actually, every single one of the mane six acts against their element a lot throughout the show... It's just that the element of Loyalty varies in definition compared to the rest of the elements, because it involves debating between sides that are not always necessarily evil.

Rainbow did stood up for Pinkie when she realized that Gildq was mean to her, she also learned that he should be loyal to his team.

To be friends you have to care. All of the mane 6 care for each other, but whats the BEST way to show loyalty?? Sticking up for your friends in need. Thats why rainbow dash is the element of loyalty.

something I've thought about is that maybe the elements signal things the pony's struggle with. Rainbow struggles to be loyal. Twilight becomes the princess of friendship after starting her journey as a terrible friend and going on countless adventures to learn the lessens most do by just living. Applejack struggles with honesty in one episode choosing to run away rather then tell her friends and family the truth. we saw in the first discord episodes how easily the ponies can be turned against their elements through their own flaws. ex) Rarities greed and admiration of beauty getting in the way of her generosity.

The exception to this theory seems to be Pinky pie until you remember that she didn't even smile until she saw a rainbow for the first time. her journey to being her laughter sharing self isn't shown much in the series but that doesn't mean it didn't happen

A shower thought theory:
What if the Tree of Harmony had made this mistake on purpose?
Why would the tree do this?
By switching the elements of two ponies, the two ponies weakness which is not their strong suit is pointed out and needed to be shown in desperate circumstances. If AppleJack and Rainbow Dash knew that they had to live up to their element, could it be that it helps them work on themselves?
If the Tree of Harmony had chosen 6 perfect ponies to take on the elements of harmony, they would feel they have no room to improve, which may lead to overconfidence or even ‘’turning on their heads.’’
Now if you were to have 6 ponies who are capable but some have room to improve, there would be no idea of ´being too overconfident on your element’ situation.

I think Rainbow Dash really deserves her element. She used to be my favorite pony back when I used to watch mlp during my early childhood and I used to idolize her a lot (lol) Shes still one of my fav ponies but I don’t love her as much as I used to. She really does deserve the element of loyalty bcuz she always stood beside her frnds and displayed small and huge acts of loyalty even once she nearly gave up her dream of becoming a wonder bolt for them! That’s something really big, and also that time when she cut off her friendship with Gilda,someone she knew since her childhood,for Pinkies sake bcuz of Gilda’s mistreatment towards Pinkie Pie. That’s incredibly loyal if u ask me. I know she isn’t perfect and does have personality flaws but at the end of the day, all the mane6 deserve their element I wish ppl can stop saying Rainbow or Rarity doesn’t.

0:05 She stood up to Gilda when she figured out that Pinkie was getting bullied by her and everypony else, stood up to Lightning Dust when she caused trouble at Wonderbolt Academy, RD had to save her friends that time, and not only she proved that she's loyal by rejecting the Shadowbolts to help her friends, she decided to stay with her team when she figured out that the Wonderbolts wanted her to replace Sorain when he gotten injured. So no offense Sawtooth, but you should pay more attenion to the episodes.

While I disagree that rainbow dash is undeserving of the element of loyalty, I can definitely see where you are coming from and enjoyed considering other potential loyalty candidates! This was definitely a thought provoking video!

they've all made mistakes against their elements, like when applejack had to lie about flim and flam's miracle tonic in order to not take away granny smith's new found happiness. they all mature and grow into their elements as the show progresses, and they all result in perfectly representing their elements. Spike is definitely very loyal, and that might be part of his dragon nature, or because of how twilight raised him to be, assuming she has cared for him since she hatched his egg.

Love your videos, but the elements seem to highlight the main 6’s best qualities, rainbow is brutally honest but in many examples, it’s not a good time to be honest. Each of the main 6’s element represent the best part of them: rarity-generosity, flutter shy-kindness pinkie-laughter/making others happy etc. applejack is loyal, yes, but her honesty is seen as the best part of her, people can count on her and trust her. I’m not sure about this idea, but if anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate it 🙂

In my opinion, Rainbow gets a lot of undeserved hate for being disloyal despite all the many times the rest of them aren't like their elements and the fact that the characters grow over the show. I believe a lot of the Rainbow hate comes from her personality, as, my family tells me, the ego gets kind of annoying. Also, several of the examples you showed I didn't even consider 'loyalty' fails. Her behavior in 'Mysterious Mare do Well' was kind of showboaty and definitely wrong, but 'disloyal' does not at all describe her that episode, esp as every time she was kind of first on the scene to sort out the situation.

Well, twilight is the princess of friendship since season 4 and was most of the time the one who learns about friendship the most. Imo, she doesn’t deserve this title. At this point, rainbow dash is more loyal than twilight knew about friendship when she was crowned the princess of friendship...

If spike would be the element of loyalty it would be an entirely different show

the point is always at the end of the episode she never abandons her friends, they need to that to kind of have a lesson by the end, especially since at the beginning she was still writing letters to celestia, loyalty doesn't mean you'd be loyal by helping, it just means your always there. loyalty isn't a thing you can prove in a snap, it has to be earned by trust, people have to trust you will always be there to be considered loyal.

Yup. The element of loalty would really work better with Apple Jack, but i don't think it's too bad like this. Rainbow Dash might sometimes be unloyal to her friends, but still she always comes back to them.

ALSO, In the episode with Gilda, Dash doesnt avoid Pinkie Pie after seeing how fun she is, Pinkie is in a wrong too, sure Dash is her friend but she can't spend all her time with Pinkie, plus after Dash have seen how mean Gilda truly was she was mad at her.

There is a difference between bluntness and honesty. Applejack is the element of honesty based on the idea of honest = earnest. Applejack is an honest worker which is why she also has low key super strength. Also rainbow is loyal to her sense of morality along with the homies. Granted with Gilda it took a minute to situate HOW her loyalty lies (rather than where as we like who we like even if they don't like one another - my friend is allowed to not like my other friend while allowing me to like both. However is homie A hurts homie B then that's a different tale).

She's very considerate of her friends feelings in most situations, and also she does not give up on people, EVER. Like in the episode where Tank was going into hibernation and she kept trying ti get him to stay awake, or when Daring Doo lost popularity in southern equestria.

Here's my theory. It was never blatantly told to anyone what the elements actually represented. Twilight just put two and two together to figure out what they most likely were. So it's absolutely possible that Rainbow Dash was in fact Honesty and AppleJack was Loyalty. It just so happened that those two were tested with each others element on accident. Plus It wouldn't make sense for the elements to chose who they belong to based on a singular recent event, but rather on their personalities and past. If that's the case then the Apple symbolizes Loyalty not Honest and the rainbow thunder cloud I guess would represent Honesty not Loyalty.
It's was just never made clear, and it didn't really seem to matter anyway since the elements showed up as their corresponding users cutie mark, so that information wouldn't be absolutely necessary, just as long as they're together and the right pony is wearing the right element, it didn't matter. That's why the actual representation was never brought up by the tree or something, it wasn't required. Now I know that a lot of people are going to say that Discords appearance in the Hedge maze debunks this theory, but it actually doesn't. Them fading wasn't clearly linked to the elements, it was Discords magic that did it. So if he believed that AppleJack and Rainbow were swapped as well then of course he would make AppleJack a liar and Rainbow Disloyal.

Actually I do believe rainbow dash represents loyalty very strongly but in the beginning when they were fixing the elements twilight only knew of her cleaning the skies for everyone and choosing her friends over the shadowbolts so naturally she associates rainbow dash with loyalty before she becomes the brutally honest one.

I think Rainbow Dash is the most 'human' of the ponies. She experiences more conflict with her destiny than, seemingly, any other pony. She is destined to be loyal, and stick by her friends at the expense of her own happiness. Think about it. Rainbow Dash loses so much more than the other mane six, including Twilight. If Twilight were to leave her friends, then come back, it wouldn't be too held against her, because, well, friendship. We all go through our ruts where we question our friendships. But if Rainbow Dash misses one picnic, or even agrees with someone who is talking smack about her friends, she loses so much more. We see loyalty as something that should never be questioned, when in actuality, much like the other elements, it has a lot of disadvantages. Once loyal, sometimes you can't do what makes you happy. Actually, most of the time you can't do what makes you happy. Rainbow Dash's dream is to be with the WonderFurries, but since she became friends with the mane six, they see it as an act of disloyalty. Like she can't have friends besides the mane six, just because she is to embody loyalty. But, I believe in the show, she is always showing loyalty, just manely to herself, because she wants to be happy. Yet, she is worried about disappointing her friends, creating this conflict that many of us go through. Our own happiness, or others? I think she is supposed to learn that being loyal to yourself & being happy yields far greater rewards over being loyal to others & being unhappy. So, I believe she DOES deserve her element, just not maybe in the way we've come to expect it. We all have our own journey, and Rainbow Dash is no exception.

But in all seriousness, RD deserves this element more than you'd ever know. I've seen some comments saying that if she truly deserved it, she wouldn't hesitate to protect her friends and be there for them- but that doesn't mean she's completely disloyal. You need to keep in mind that this cartoon is about their friendship, which is why it always seems like she's ditching her friends for her dreams and such which is true- although that makes you guys say she isn't being loyal. But let's re-think the situation here; Her life-long dream against her best friends. It may seem easy to say you'd choose your friends because it's "the right choice", but if you were in her situation not knowing which one was right, you'd be able to feel more empathy for the character. In the real world where friendship isn't everything, choosing your dream over your friends wouldn't be considered wrong and that definitely wouldn't mean she ditched her friends, since she can meet up with them, write letters, ect. Plus, as her friends, they should feel happy for her, even if she "chose her dreams over her friends".
Now, if she chose her dream, she'd be being loyal to her dreams. If she chose her friends (which she did), she'd be being loyal to her friends. Basically a win-win.
People don't need to agree with me, but I think that 1. She's loyal in every situation, even if her loyalty isn't aimed at her friends, and 2. Just because the show is about friendship, that doesn't mean she always has to be loyal to her friends.

I don't see how the "Mare do well" episode question her element. Getting a promotion and changing of team to realize a life-long dream isn't also a show of disloyalty if her precedent team is ok with it.

Beside, the mane six aren't define by their elements, like Applejack who lie sometimes or Fluttershy who get brutal. They are lving beings with their own characters and flaws, who have dreams and goals. Not some abstract notions given form by magic.

Spike staying with Twilight isn't that surprising, she's his adoptive mother, he literally have no others places to go, he's still very very young and i doubt there is many job opportunities for a dragon in a pony society. And he actually doesn't really know any others dragons and the ones he encountered have been less than friendly.

Since she is my favourite pony I might be bias but I think she deserves her elements for the not so consistent but huge deeds she did to prove it.

Well Twilight started off as a shut-in thinking friends were useless and Rarity can be stingy at times, Fluttershy can be mean, Applejack lies about pointless things, and Pinkie Pie can be temperamental/bitter as well. So yeah, meanwhile RD can be a bit of a flake.
I think the fact that they all sometimes act opposite to their element of harmony actually helps them to embody their element even more. At their best and truest selves, their element shines through, but at their worst, it's something they actually struggle with. Sometimes the things you're meant for or gifts you have can give you difficulty. It kind of reminds me of stories like A Christmas Carol where Scrooge realizes that he's not actually a stingy and unloving man, or the Hobbit where Bilbo realizes that he's meant to be courageous, not a coward. I like that kind of concept.

Actually I think that her lack of loyalty in most situations but her abundance in important situations is a statement. She has the hardest to use due to her personality and element combination and that she does have multiple things she's loyal to,which is a problem. But she is there when it counts. Like in that flim flam ep in the end she helped her friends and was in the beginning only tired of missing out "every"year on the cider. Yes she does miss things which I think that makes her more relatable, but when it comes down to it she will have your back.

I agree that spike could easily be the element of loyalty but that doesn’t mean rainbowdash shouldn’t. She’s not perfect, she has flaws but in the end she finds out what is right which is why she is the element.

I know this is an old video, but being brutally honest like rainbow is sometimes is not something friendships are founded on. Sure, she’s telling the truth, but without considering how the other pony would feel or the consequences.

RD does deserve her element she represents loyalty perfectly. To be honest I feel applejack doesn't really deserve her element, she tells lies to spare her friends feelings. Rd makes mistakes she can't be perfect all the time. In the first 4 seasons she made a lot of mistakes and that's perfectly fine, right now she represents her element of loyalty perfectly

My theory is that they just don't represent their elements in the same way (and they're not supposed to), because they are different and people react different to them. It's much harder to stay loyal when there's something you really want and is right in front of you, than it is to, say, try and bring a smile on everyone's faces (but that brings around different challenges again, that you can see in Pinkie Pie's story).

Plus, like a lot of other people have said, she might just represent different types of loyalty. I would consider myself loyal to my friends, but I also am loyal to my dream of being an author, and if those two were to conflict each other, I would eventually have to choose, and choosing your friends isn't always the right choice.

There's also the whole thing with Rainbow Dash not being her friends, and therefor reacting to things in a different way.

(Plus, she always comes around to do the "right thing" AKA choose her friends, and loyalty is a thing always tested that you always learn about).

Oh boy, I could tell from the moment I saw this title that this video was gonna cause a lot of controversy lol. Looking at the comments I was right. I'll watch the rest of the video before making a comment, but here's my two cents: I agree, Rainbow Dash doesn't strike me as terribly loyal. It's been awhile since I've watched the whole series (I only recently finished watching Season 9 on Hulu) but from what I can recall there are a number of times where Rainbow Dash doesn't seem to really exhibit the sort of qualities I would expect of someone "loyal". Granted, she usually does the right thing in the end, but... it also often takes the majority of the episode for her to do so lol. For example, in one more recent episode I remember, Rainbow Dash is pretty quick to break her promise to Applejack and abandon Granny Apple and her friends to go on a rollercoaster. I know everybody makes mistakes and if she were perfect and never messed up or had any flaws then Rainbow Dash would just be another boring Mary Sue-type character, but the other Mane 6 seem at least a little more consistent in their qualities. Fluttershy is often kind without needing a whole episode to learn this lesson, Applejack is usually pretty honest, etc. And of course, I know that MLP is all about learning and showing kids the importance of doing the right thing, even if it isn't always the easiest or most fun thing. But still it seems to me that, at least from an in-universe standpoint, the ponies representing the elements of harmony ought to actually... ya know... REPRESENT THE ELEMENTS. Lol, just saying. But of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if anyone wants to debate this with me I would be more than happy to do so. Just keep it civil please.

Edit: I thought of one more recent example of disloyalty. When Twilight puts Rainbow Dash in charge of the cheerleaders at her school, Rainbow Dash initially blows them off, thinking cheerleading is boring and insignificant. Eventually she changes her mind and helps them, but it takes a lot to do so. Perhaps it isn't the most straightforward example of loyalty, but when you think about it loyalty to one's job/commitments is just as important as loyalty to one's friends.

The point of the elements is that they all have to try to fulfill them. Twilight wasn’t magically talented as a filly, Apple jack struggles to be honest sometimes, pinkie comes from a dark and sad rock farm, rarity is a fashion pony, but unlike the rest of the fashion ponies, she gives freely, flutter shy, well I’m not sure in her but you get the point. She chooses her friends when things get tough.

This is true, but isn't that a bit hard on rd? She might be short tempered and everything and doesn't seem to be loyal at times, but when she had to make HUGE descions, such as joining the shadowbolts or leaving her chance of joining the wonderbolts, she chooses her friends instead. And even in rainbow falls, she might have considered the fact of joining the wonderbolt's team, but it never said that she DID choose it, right? She was so caught in the middle that she just faked her injury so that she didn't have to choose between the two teams. Personally, I think that RD deserves her element of loyalty.

Idk I agree with Sawtooth. Rainbow being the element of loyalty feels.... Forced sometimes. I think it's the combination of her being the element of loyalty and her personality being harsh. It's like they're fighting which one should be the dominant trait. Of course being loyal doesn't mean you should be a push over, but I think if they made her less harsh and made her personality slightly rounder instead of sharp, it would've made her a better element of Loyalty and stop people from being like... Bruh... Why is she the element of loyalty again...? Cause she's done A LOT of selfish things.

TLDR: I think she should have been more selfless, and Loyal, with her actions rounded, and the sharpness could have been give. To AppleJack...

Dash just acts a bit too confident because her parents always cheered her on the smallest or biggest things but other than that she’s loyal to her friends!
Like when she had to chose her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt or friends on the bridge she chose friends and she tries her best to help them when they need her so I think she’s absolutely perfect for this element

So youtube recommended me this just today lmao. Anyway..yes Rainbow Dash's ego was pretty much huge back then in the episodes and in the future. She still had to learn that having fears is normal and okey and that her friends will be there for her. Her friends had to show her loyalty so she could learn it. Well that's what I think.
Even Applejack learned that being too honest isnt always great (especially because she doesn't like stuff). Everyone had their insecurities but they've learned from each other.

To be honest I really don’t agree with you. Just hear me out. Being the element of loyalty doesn’t mean that she still doesn’t have anything else to learn about being loyal. Take Twilight for example: she’s the princess of friendship and she said and I quote, “just because I’m the princess of friendship doesn’t mean I still don’t have a lot to learn about friendship” she said that In an episode in season 5-7.
The same thing applies to Rainbow Dash being the element of loyalty.
That’s all I’m saying because if none of them had nothing else to learn about their element or about friendship it would just make the show dull 😔✋.

In my opinion, Rainbow Dash deserves her element. I’m not saying this just because she is my favorite character. Sure, there are times that rainbow wasn’t loyal, but she always learns from it. She is loyal to the wonderbolts and her friends. When star swirl denied twilights idea for a new spell to banish the pony of shadows, rainbow stood up for her (and everyone else). The elements for the mane 6 fit them well, and that doesn’t mean they should be those elements all the time. I respect people if they disagree with me, but I think the writers did have a reason for these characters to have these personalities.

Spike, at least in the first few seasons, was much more loyal to Twilight and her friends than Rainbow Dash. I remember specifically in Three's A Crowd Rainbow is the first to abandon her friends with Discord. She does this other times too, and Applejack literally got her cutie mark based on her loyalty to her close family. In the first few seasons, maybe less in the later ones, she's a terrible representation of her element in small situations and Applejack or Spike have more of that feel.

I feel the same could be said about Rarity, and a lot of the other ponies, actually. That might be part of the character development, though. They don't come into the world knowing all about their element.

Time and time again we've seen rainbow dash betray her element however like in reality after doing so she eventually does the right thing after some time of consideration about what she's done. Spike on the other hand while he is always loyal is more of a crowd pleaser and hasn't often displayed what the element of loyalty really is.
Pointing out flaws means nothing if the character or person redeems themselves

I think Rainbow Dash takes a bit of a more interesting take in at least the first four seasons than the others. Because like I'm good at something like art and others see that as a part of me, but sometimes I feel like not finishing certain ones then I leave them and don't end up completing them, but sometimes I push throw and get them done. Rainbow struggling with Loyalty I don't have an issue with cause the others too struggle a bit here and there. But while Rainbow is good with loyalty, considering parts of her character, it feels like something harder than like Twilight's element of Magic. Not trying to say the others are lazy with their elements, far from it, I just feel like Rainbow is misunderstood.

Someone who wasn't loyal and was as cool as dash would have gone with her when gilda left the party. 0:42 yes but she didn't fly up there and do it quickly like she wanted to, she stayed with her friends. 0:49 yes but she never betrayed her friends. 0:56 that's just because she wanted cider. She didn't relize it would cause sweet apple acres to go out of business, and when the competition happened. Rainbow was 100% on apple jacks side. 1:14 but she doesnt. She still stays with fluttershy even though it was very tempting to join the wonderbolts. 3:28 that's not loyalty that's persistence and hard work. And never getting board. Rainbow dashes code is different than spikes, but she would NEVER abandon her friends.

Well in my opinion i feel like in the first few seasons rainbow dash along with the other mane 6 even though they represented the elements they weren’t at their full potential and there still had to be character growth for them to truly “be” their element. For example twilight couldn’t truly harvest her full potential for magic until she became an Alicorn. Similar things happen to the others.

I think that Rainbow DEFINITELY deserves her element. Of course she makes lots of mistakes, all of the Mane 6 members do. That was their point of the Friendship journals in the later seasons. look i know everyone is giving you hate, but im rewatching the series after watching this video, and you are totally right. i think people are just mad because of the title, applejack and rainbow dash are both good friends and deserve elements, but they would make WAY more sense switched. rainbow dash says something bluntly honest almost every episode, and applejack is loyal to her family, friends, and very stubborn and loyal to her virtues, it does make more sense to have them switched. It doesn't make rainbow dash a bad friend, but she is much more independent and self serving than applejack completely. evryone is like "loyalty doesnt always mean doing what your friend says" and yea sure, but rainbow dash often considers her own need before others on many occasions, ive never seen applejack do that, and taking care of her family is her top priority, idk whats more loyal than that, its her purpose in life(to run the family farm and carry on the legacy). and on the other hand like i said rainbow dash makes very open and honest statements almost every episode of the first season at least that everyone else is afraid to say. rainbow dash stans just cant take the truth ironically lol. in my head cannon they are deff switched.

I used to think like that too, that they should switch elements. Part of me still does, but then I reminded myself of something. The ponies all have pretty big issues with their elements. Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack's are just different and more out in the open, and that might be because their elements are so closely connected that sometimes it's hard to tell them apart.

Pinke Pie is a ray of Sunshine, but in such a degree that others struggle to take her seriously or find her annoying at times.

Rarity has a problem similar to Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack, where her commitment to her element can be questioned. She has a generous spirit indeed, and has shown plenty of her generousity, however, there are times when she too, needs to learn more of the way of her element.

I believe that this is what's going on. They're still learning the way of their element, and have their specific issues exactly because THAT'S their element. And maybe we like to forget just how closely related these two elements are, we can all agree that these two ponies are crazy similar

And I'm gonna go ahead and point out Rainbow Dash's problem with her element. She's loyal to her friends, but also to the wonderbolts and herself. So when a situation rises where she has to pick one, it's a struggle of what is she more loyal to? And in the end, she always makes the right choice, and isn't that what matters??

Well, if you watched that one season 4 Episode in which ponyville is competing for the equestria games at rainbow falls, rainbow dash made a loyal decision.

Loyalty dosent only mean being on your friends side. It means being loyal to the ones that are there for you for example... Rainbow Dash showed her loyalty at the royal wedding of Kadens and Shining Armer! Yea... she did ignore Twilight when she said that Kadens is not the one she Knows. Dash also helped Fluttershy to face her fears on episode 22.Hurricane Fluttershy on season 2. S000OOOooo...

I know that this was six years ago but the thing is, she cares about her friends in the end of most episodes she chooses to be loyal such as the episode where she trains with 2 teams but she can't decide who though in the end she obviously chooses ponyville. I'd say a well written character is a character with flaws, etc. So I guess I could say, her element is well deserved, she has proven to be loyal plenty of times.

In the episode where rainbow keeps swapping with the two teams and considers flying with the wonderbolts she was actually VERY loyal she didn’t want to hurt her friends feelings and she wanted a chance to fly with the wonderbolts which is her DREAM the only thing wrong is that she could tell her friends and if her friends were good friends they would be happy she’s pursuing her dream and the other times she was being loyal to GILDA she ignored pinkie because she was being loyal to Gilda and all the other times she was being loyal in a different way

Maybe their elements are not just what they are or represent, maybe it's too what they learn, for example: Twilight didn't knew magic from born, she had to learn, in books, and school with Celestia as her teacher; Pinky Pie wasn't the same laughter pony like she is now, not until she saw that rainbow in the episode that tells how she got her cutie mark; when Applejack left Ponyville and changed her life, she wasn't honest with herself by who she really is, Fluttershy learned to not just be shy, by being kind to ponys and other creatures; or when Rarity met more than meets the eye, I mean, when she saw that generosity is worth after she saw that it's beatuy inside of almost everything; and Rainbow Dash, she won a race to protect Fluttershy's honor, that' what a loyal friend would do
Just because they represent those elements doesn't mean they handle those aspects easily, because sometimes it's hard to be loyal or honest, to laugh in serious situations, to be kind and generous to those who don't seem to deserve it, or use magic when it seems like it's going to disappear, and that is something they must overcome, learning from their mistakes and their victories

Dash does deserve the element of loyalty, because with your wonderbolt statement she wanted to be with both teams and wanted to stay loyal to both, I can admit with the whole cider thing she messed up, but we learn from our mistakes, plus with the safety of ponyville she may have messed up a few times but come on, how many times have they HELPED save equestria, that technically making up for that/thise mistakes, plus with the Pinkie and Gilda thing Dash probably figured that her and Gilda should havr some way to talk things out alone and spend time together just as those two, also Spike wouldn't exactly fit the role, because I get that he is loyal but it was assigned to Dash for a pretty good reason, plus there are times that Spike does not show that much loyalty, and if anything when it comes to Spike's loyalty to Twilight it might as well be him being a push over or even a bit of a suck up, but Dash actually has bounties with said loyalty, while Spike hasn't shown many boundaries because he sometimes works to the point where he barley has anything left- as if he was a maid/slave of sorts, just a way morr privileged one, though why is it Twilight barley stops to notice that Spike may be out of energy or possibly in pain for all that he does? Because we always see her trying to hide her emotions, but what if the reason she does that is deeper then we think? What if everything her parents were doing started to stress her out even if her parents meamt good, and maybr she started hiding that emotion of being so overwhelmed so she wouldn't upset her parents? But not only can she get overwhelmed from that but also yhr bullying in flight school and possibly trying to just make others proud? What if thats one of the other things the ego came from, just wanting others other then her parents to feel proud to prove to herself that her parents may not be faking it? And just looking for others approval then just het parents?

Seriously dude! I know Rainbow Dash has her flaws but they all do! Twilight is way too studious and organized which sometimes drives her crazy. Pinkie jumps to conclusions that are sometimes wrong which sometimes drives her insane. Applejack can be very stubborn at times and sometimes makes herself exhausted doing it. Fluttershy is way too shy and quiet and sometimes can't speak up for herself or perform in front of others. Rarity can be very self-centered sometimes which causes her to forget to ask what others want. See, they all have their flaws and imperfections but none of them don't deserve an element! We all have flaws and imperfections but that doesn't mean we don't deserve anything! So, next time you talk trash about someone, make sure what you're saying is true.😉

Umm... I can think of more than 2 times she showed true loyalty. When she got the offer to be in the "shadow bolts" for one, when she chose Tank over the falcon as her pet, when she almost quit wonder bolt academy for her friends and saved them from lightning dust's tornado, when she saved the students from the school of friendship from falling out of the sky, when she decided that she really did love her parents even though they were annoying, want me to go on?

The reason why the writers made rainbow dash more self-entitled of herself is so she has more ways to show off her loyalty, y'all need to stop hating on rainbow cause all the other main 6 have been through the same as rainbow.

I mean if they all always played their elements part then the show would be short. Also spike is a baby dragon that hangs with ponies. The dragons would bully him , in fact I think there was an episode like that when he went to live with dragons. Also AppleJack is 'honesty' but there are times when she isn't so honest. All of the mane 6 doesn't always live up to their element. They are regular ponies just like we would say we are regular humans. Pay attention with the spike loyalty thing, when twilight tries to use the elements the ponies elements activate (sort of...) but spike and the element of loyalty DON'T DO ANYTHING! My point is that it appears that only ponies (and humans but since they didn't actually have the elements except magic i don't really count it) can use the elements.
Also dont be harsh to RD because most of the times she wasn't "being loyal" was just because of her character flaw, her pride and self competence.

I would half to say for Rainbow Dash sometimes she looses focus on why she wanted to do these things so she needs friends to keep her on track and without them she wouldn't of a had stayed with ponyvill or with her friends (especially Twilight) so if you think about it the smallest things matter that may not seem big throughout the seasons 😁

Like, rainbow falls for example, rainbow tried to choose both at first, doing stuff with the wonderbolts, but also ponyville. It was hard to choose. But in the end, she chose her friends.

In the sombra timeline, we see Rainbow dash fighting against the crystal empire, and even after almost being crushed by a rock and almost dying, she still continues fighting. Maybe this one’s more bravery then loyalty, but I think anyone would be having second thoughts.

In the nightmare moon timeline, she was the first, and only, pony to speak up when twilight didn’t respond- she may not have been on the same side- but that’s loyalty.

When I first clicked on this video I was livid at the title but you made some pretty good points and I mean Rainbow Dash is loyal but she is hesitant to do so and she is more brutally honest then loyal

loyalty is when you have a hard choice where one you abandon your friends while the other you stay true to them. i think that rainbow embodies the element perfectly. time and time again we see her wanting something and she almost always abandons her friends for it. however, she always comes back to her senses. true loyalty is being there when your friends need you most.

In the episode with Gilda Rainbow Dash shoes loyalty to Pinky Piy by standing up for her even if it meant she had to give up her friendship with Gilda

You can look at that one wpisode with Pinkie and that Yakyakistan instrument and you'll see that Dash is first one to tell Pinkie while the others pass it on to someone else. And I think the writers had a hard time understanding or even explaining loyalty in an episode.

You have a legitimate point. Though, after this video was made, rainbow Dash has demonstrated her element more. We must remember she is very prideful and perhaps this makes it especially hard for her to keep to her Element. Maybe she is different in that she still has a long way to go to earn her element, unlike the others.

In the episode with the Griffin kingdom, Rainbow Dash taught Gilda to be loyal to her fellow Griffins, and ultimately mended their relationship.

When Rainbow and Fluttershy were fillies in Cloudsdale, Rainbow Dash was ALWAYS sticking up for Flutters even though she could have decided to make fun of her friend as well, like Babs Seed did when she was teased by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon for her lack of a cutie mark. Perhaps RD was born with this trair of loyalty, and her love of power corrupted this. After Fluttershy fell out of Cloudsdale and started living in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash might have met Gilda, and a friendship based on competition rather than loyalty had been formed. Thus, Rainbow has been out of practice, and has had much time to grow her ego. Competition replaced loyalty for her for a long time.

As with villians, they don't often start out evil, but are driven to it, and chose to react to their pain or desires in the wrong way, thus corrupting their hearts. But if open to change, they can become reborn. I believe Rainbow Dash started out loyal, but after Fluttershy disappeared (which may be considered by RD an act of disloyalty), and she got her cutie mar, her ego grew, and was fueled in her "friendship" with Gilda. Thus she became a little corrupted, though not to the extent of a villian, and has been working on being who she is supposed to be. The Shadowbolts may simbolize the fact that full corruption is never far, and Rainbow Dash always struggles against her egotistical impulses. Villian get power how ever they can, and Shadowbolts are another way other than the Wonderbolts for her to be the pony she wants to be. But she realizes that it isn't worth it, because power cannot replace frienship, and thus she can never be truly happy following that darker path.

She's the best pony to represent loyalty.That's why she left the wonderbolts.

No pony is perfect. Not even the embodiments of the six elements. They all make mistakes. If they don't, they don't learn and become better than they are now

Loyalty isn't only being loyal to others but also to yourself

Why hold rainbow in a different light than Applejack? Appledash's honesty gets tested too, and all rainbow's situations reflect that. Just like fluttershy's kindness is tested, rarity's generosity is tested, and... Well pinkie is the only one who (HAS A FRIENDSHIP ELEMENT) and is hardly tested.
Twi's magic is tested but that's not really an aspect of friendship.

I disagree. Even aside from the two-parters, where ALL of the mane 6 demonstrate their best qualities, Rainbow has proved herself a loyal friend.

Some of these arguments are stronger than others, and I realize it's all subjective, so keep in mind this is just how I see things. And, I have to admit before I start, I am a Rainbow Dash fan (which doesn't mean I think she's the most awesome, perfect thing to ever grace Hasbro's toyline; in fact, just the opposite ((I really love seeing Dash presented as this complex, sort of Byronic hero, who makes slow progress toward growing as an individual, but I could go on about THAT for far too long))).

In "Griffon the Brush Off," Gilda was introduced as Dash's best friend from when they went to school together. Though we don't know just how often they came in contact with each other over the years, or stayed in touch with letters, we know Dash wasn't choosing between being loyal to a friend, and hanging out with someone who she deems "cooler." She was choosing between two friends (and she chose the one she's known the longest).

"May the Best Pet Win!" may seem like a strike against Dash, in that she doesn't really know what to look for in making friends (or, in this case pets) at the outset. But, I would argue the viewer knows the outcome is inevitable, because what really matters to Rainbow, when it comes down to it, is determination and loyalty. 

"The Last Roundup" provides another subtle example of her values. It's true that Dash is always the most outspoken of the mane 6 (for better or for worse), but here, it's more meaningful. She's the one to call AJ out on leaving (just Applejack demonstrated her Element in the example given in the video ((Maud Pie))). To me at least, that shows she knows loyalty has to be a two-way street. 

"Read and It and Weep" shows loyalty to a fault: bias. Applejack is indeed stubborn beyond all reason, but Dash has her moments too, and in this case, it's based on a belief she's held for a long time. It's obviously not an ideal manifestation of loyalty, but an important one to show her overcoming.

"Rainbow Falls" is basically the Shadowbolt conflict extended to twenty-two minutes, which is unfortunate, because there was potential for a much better story. Not only should it have been about pitting her dreams of being a Wonderbolt with staying true to her commitment to her friends, it could've been about choosing between two impossible choices: Cloudsdale and Ponyville. While we the viewer would immediately say Ponyville is right choice, it wouldn't really be that clear cut. We've spent the most time with Ponyville, and we know and love the friends Dash has made during her time there, but there's also a history we're not privy, too. If, say her dad wanted her to fly for Cloudsdale with the Wonderbolts, it would've put this conflict in perspective. Her heritage & childhood v.s. her adult life and best friends. Now THAT'S the conflict I wanted to see as a RD fan; one that's hard and takes real character. It's shame we got what we got on that one.

Again, for the record, I could babble on and on about how Dash has grown as a character, but that's not my point here. I think if nothing else, RD /is/ a loyal friend. Yes, she's very insensitive and even rude, but that doesn't make her somehow un-loyal (to some, it means she's obnoxious, and I'm sorry you have to suffer watching it if you feel that way). I think loyalty, more than any other Element, demands dramatic displays of sacrifice, or at least the willingness to. Maybe it really doesn't happen all that often, but it's the moments when it really matters that Dash pulls through.

When She Gives Up On Ponyville She Goes Back Too Ponyville Cause She Understands That Being Loyal Is More Important Then Winning With The Wonderbolts

on a somewhat unrelated note I dont think rarity deserves her element much because she is only generous to her friends with outfits mainly and isnt generous, and she only starts to do that more once she opensup a boutique,!

She is the perfect representation of loyalty. First of all rainbow was loyal to pinky, its just been a long time since she saw Gildas and she wanted to spent time with her because she will leave soon but pink will always be present and one more point being with Gilda would make her look cool and awesome something she always wanted but she proudly said in front of everyone that she didn't want to be Gildas friend if she is soo rude to her new friends without shame. If u ask me there is nothing more loyal than that. When she chose her friends over her biggest dream 2 times we can prove that she is utmost loyal.

She IS loyal because in the end she always stands up for what SHE thinks is right even if it takes her a while to figure out what that is or if it isn’t what others think is right. In other words she loyal to her morals not those around her.

both Rainbow and Rarity don't have much in terms of showing their elements, and actually fails to show them in some cases. However, when they do show their element its on a completely different level then what we would expect. mostly, because loyalty and generosity can be viewed in many ways. so both Rainbow and Rarity probably do fit there element to a key just not the way we would expect it. This is just my thoughts feel free to disagree.(BTW Rainbow is best pony :P)

Yes i think your being to hard. They arent all perfect! Twilight was just starting friendship so Rainbowdash is probably learning to be loyal. Twilight seemed kind of nasty in season 1 compared to her now. You'll notice they are all a lot better in later seasons.

In the episode with Gilda, she could have also been showing loyalty to someone else, Gilda. They've been friends longer than Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash and hadn't seen each other in a while so she may have been showing loyalty to Gilda. But no matter what, she's loyal to her friends when it's crucial, maybe not so much the little things because, honestly, who can be 100% loyal 100% of the time to their friends.

The thing is, none of them are perfect, as per real life. Even if there is a value one holds dear, certain situations are going to occur that challenge those ideas. Rainbow Dash really loves her friends and is loyal where is counts. I mean, she didn't count the blades of grass like Spike did (I mean, most people, even the most lot wouldn't do something that detailed). And in the episode with Gilda, I don't think she was intentionally trying to keep Pinkie Pie out. How many of us when a friend comes to visit spend exclusive time with them? They were Childhood friends and hadn't seen one another in a while. That doesn't mean Rainbow Dash isn't loyal to her other friends. I mean, she did come through at the end of the episode and told Gilda off. With something you are good at, or favor, challenges will come in. All of the mane 6 faced these challenges in regard to the element/value favored.

None of these are true tests of loyalty. Just because she's loyal to Gilda by giving her her time (especially seeing as Gilda's home country is an awful place to live) doesn't mean she's being disloyal to Pinkie by not spending every second of the day with her. Just because she complains that Fluttershy is too weak to go after a dragon doesn't mean she's disloyal, in fact, the fact that she's gone up on this trip and is putting up with it and even trying to protect Fluttershy by sending her home is loyalty. In the cases where she was truly tested, where there were real stakes in whether or not she did the right thing for the ponies she cares about, she's been pretty steadfast.

But in the end, is Loyalty REALLY a great virtue? I mean, if your friends turn out to be evil, and you're loyal to evil, are you still the good guy for being evil?

Hey there is one more time that Rainbow Dash displayed her element of harmony. It was when she choose to stay with Fluttershy after Fluttershy fell to the ground... although as I am more than likely watching this episode late so you probably already know this.

i mean yea she isn't really loyal at first but time after time she always goes back to her friends, (telling the truth and realizing her mistakes as said in the video). my pov is kinda she may be more like telling the truth and realizing her mistakes, but in the end, it makes her loyal to her friends (in short saying she may be kind of both but the writers decided to put her for loyalty). So many people here who have absolutely no clue what loyalty means. No, loyalty does not mean doing whatever you're told to do. It means one thing and one thing only. She does deserve her element but she sometimes makes a mistake and then realizes it. When some of them were trading rainbow dash didn’t realize flutter shy had to leave when she traded the pet for the book. She then realizes it then Twilight says it was a fair trade when she wanted that book and that person wanted that pet and wanted it to be trained. But she disagreed when she realized she made a mistake letting fluttershy go to mane hattan. She said that a friend is more important than anything. So she makes a mistake then realizes it.

Ok so to answer why there was the honesty issue in the early seasons. So honestly doesn't just mean honesty to other people it's also honesty to yourself. The wonderbolts episode proved rainbow dash choosing the honesty to her friends while trying to keep the honesty to herself and her dreams... It wasn't really a struggle of the wonderful to her friends it was a struggle of the dream or the people she cared about.

Twilight: When she was younger all she would do is study and close the door on anyone who tried to make contact. She also wasn't as good as magic.

Fluttershy: There has bern several times she was pushed into doing something unkind or pushing animals away.

Pinkie Pie: She literally lived on a rock farm with a blank gray family and there has been times where she gave up on her happiness and laughter.

Rarity: Rarity once had herself covered in mud when Applejack and her where battling for their crush. Although I don't really remember much of her breaking out of element.

Applejack: In one of the episodes in around season 6 or 5 she shares a story to applebloom when she lied. But I don't really recall her breaking apart from the apples.

Rainbowdash: She has left her friends for the wonderbolts 1 or 2 times. But her passion for flying and never left her.

in Rainbow Falls, Rainbow Dash chose to fly for ponyville even with the option to fly with the wonderbolts, because she was loyal to her friends, notice how this was her own decision, in wonderbolt academy, she said she quits because Lightning Dust almost killed her friends, she didn't want to be a wonderbolt if it meant her friends would get hurt, once again, a sign of loyalty.

Late for the party but:
1) You can be loyal to your friends
(this can mean to be honest, helping them, standing up for them OR telling them straight)
2) You can be loyal to your self
(this might mean taking care of your self)
3) Loyal to a belive
(see any extremist, be it religious, political, monarchist, republicans, democrats, militaries, passifists etc etc)
4) Loyal to a cause
(Beliving so much in a cause that you ignore any type of critical thinking)
5) Loyalty to ones dreams/hopes
(Yes I put this in a diffrent category than nr.2 cause it is diffrent. I still dream about beeing a topnotch equestrian thats famous all around the world, however, by staying loyal to my self I know thats not gonna happen due to my finanses. So I have to abandon my dreams in a practical sense while still holding on to them to some degree)

And this is just what I can think of on the fly.

Its called character development Rainbow does deserve her element heres why rainbow has a slow start she has to be shown with temptations constantly in order to over come the problem to prove her loyalty remember these are supposed to be life lessons she is learning and in order to learn something you need constant and inner conflict also honesty and loyalty are cohesive with one another you have to be honest in order to be loyal .

Rainbow Dash IS loyal, but she ain't perfect. Like how Twilight is the Element of Magic, but even she botches spells and knows her limits. Like how AJ can totally lie, but can be pretty bad at it. Pinkie is Laughter, but DOES get sad. Fluttershy is Kindness, but has her mean streaks every now and again. Rarity is Generosity, but even she is shown to be greedy at times.

The ponies aren't perfect. Stop making them into the perfect epitome of their elements.

Oh, RD "abandoned" Pinkie and Rarity in Appleoosa? She took a calculated risk. She could ALWAYS turn back and get them. She wouldn't leave them hanging. But the show writers kinda messed that up, JUST so they could have that small gag at the end with Rares and Pinkie.

Yeah, RD wanted to spend more time with Gilda. Why? Cause she hasn't seen her since she was a filly. An old childhood friend. Wouldn't you want to spend more time with them? It's not a matter of loyalty, it's a matter of being blinded by the fact that you can catch up with your old friend. I've done this before. Old friend comes along, I hang out with my other friends less so I can hang out with them more.

Second point you had. RD was short with Fluttershy. What in the loving hooves does that have to do with Loyalty at all? Nothing, that's what. Being loyal doesn't mean you can't have a short temper. She got mad at her, yes, but did she end the friendship? NOPE! Not at all. facehoof Temper does not mean disloyalty. Ugh.

Everyone has an ego. So do I. When I started getting better at fighting games, I thought I was the best. I would brag about my wins and show off. Until I was taken down a few pegs by a couple of friends who were better than I was. Again, nothing to do with loyalty.

And last, RD wanted cider. Never get between her and cider. And in the end? She helped AJ. She knew F&F's cider was better, but she didn't care. She was loyal to the end. To her friends. Doesn't matter when you're loyal, as long as you're still there at the end of it with your friends.

RD and AJ swapping Elements wouldn't work. At her core, RD is loyal. At AJ's core, she's honest.

AJ is Honesty. Why? Cause she's honest with herself(and that's pretty damn important for Honesty, in my opinion), her friends, and with her work.

RD is Loyalty. She always fights by her friends. Always sticks with her friends. Never leaves her friends. She WILL make mistakes, but she will find her Loyalty, every single time. Why she can't be Honesty? Easy, she's not honest with herself. That and she cheats.

You guys have no idea what loyalty means. What it means to be loyal. Loyalty doesn't mean you have to be perfect and be blind to your own desires. I'm pretty damn loyal, but even I get lost sometimes, but it's always my friends who pull me back and help me find my way again, and it's those friends whom I stay with. Fight with. I'm the most loyal person you'll meet out there in the world, but that doesn't mean I'm blind.

Rainbow Dash isn't perfect. She may trip and fall. She may lose her way. But she's ALWAYS with her friends. And just because she's "brutally honest" doesn't mean she's Honest. It's just a part of her personality.

This is so wrong if you look back at all of your “examples” of her “non-loyalty” she always makes up for it and always chooses her her loyal side. She always gets so much hate because she is competitive. She makes mistakes and so does every other pony, people need to stop judging her! They all had room to grow honestly, but saying she doesn’t deserve her element right off the back isn’t okay. Like Apple jack lied a lot before and learned. Sure she made mistakes, everyone does! Personally I would say she grew the most which is one of the reasons shes my favorite. She wasn’t really unfitting her element though. If you think about it, being loyal is harder than it seems. In the real world, you don’t know who you can trust. Choosing your friends who you don’t know you can trust over your dream that you have a one life chance for would be a lot of pressure, but she still did it. But yet, loyalty doesn’t mean doing everything people tell you to do. People would take advantage of you and turn you into a doormat. When It comes to loyalty, it’s hard decisions all the time especially in the real word. And not only that, but loyalty is what you need most in a friend. (In my opinion). Because if you don’t have loyalty then what’s the point of being friends? It’s like they would just leave you. In the real world, magic wouldn’t really count but loyalty would be the most important and pressuring element in my opinion. Seeing Rainbow grow with her element would make her stronger than she already was. I also think loyalty is the gateway to honesty if you think about it. It’s kind of a connection. Seeing Rainbow grow up with her element is amazing! She deserves better.

The way I see it yes, Rainbow Dash has a ways to go, but she IS loyal when the people she cares about really need her. With Pinkie when her griffin friend came to town, Pinkie cannot fly, where Rainbow and Glenda do a LOT of their bonding in the air. And when Glenda DID show her true colors, Rainbow was quick to side with Pinkie and defend Fluttershy. Rainbow also displays loyalty to her friends way earlier, when she got her cutie mark defending Fluttershy's honor as a peagasi. Point being, like everyone, Rainbow tends to make bad, impulsive descisions but when it really comes down to it she's loyal to a fault, and when she gets herself in over her head, she swallows her pride and asks for help. She needs to mature, but she DOES deserve her element.

Well, everypony of mane 6 has done something wrong, that's the way it is.
Apple Jack - honesty: she lied a lot when she was a child and now when she's stressed out she lies a lot also.
Rarity - she is supposed to be generous while she have those jelousy moments.
Fluttershy - kindness, well, when she get mad she is not that kind.

But as soon as she found out Sweet Apple Acres would be put out of business, she sided with Applejack and helped her with the contest to keep the orchard. Even if it meant she would have a much lower chance of getting cider, she still stuck with Applejack. When it comes down to it, Rainbow will sacrifice the things she wants most for her friends.

Yeah I agree you’re being a little hard on Rainbow. I’m not a huge fan of mlp, and you do have a couple good points but I still think Rainbow deserves her element. Sure she may not prove that she is the one for her element as much as Applejack, but that’s no excuse to start trying to switch everyone’s elements up

Rainbow dash has loyalty, to have a friendship you need to be loyal that’s what rainbow dash shows! Instead of making friends with cool ponies she doesn’t

*When rainbow dash picked her friends over the Shadow strippers
*when rainbow dash bought the bird whistle for fluttering insured of rainbow dashes book (more generous than loyal but still loyal)
*when rainbow dash cheered for Ponyvilel instead of cloudsdale
*when rainbow dash saved her friends from the twisted
*when rainbow dash saved rarity when her wings demolished
...can't think of anything else but I thought of more than 2 reasons!
