Hey Notion! I would love to hear your thoughts and maybe a head cannon on whether Luster Dawn may be the daughter of Starlight and Sunburst. I have a theory myself that would take so long to explain but if you'd like to hear it I would be glad to share! This is such an interesting question and since I'm a big fan of the Starburst ship, tho it's second to Cheesepie which is best ship change my mind, I'd love to see a video about this! In the final episode of season 9 the Last Problem I think they gave us the clue to translate Equestrian Language

If the tree of harmony played a part on simbolizing the elements to the young 6 then mabye, it helped on giving the main 6 thier cutie marks/destinys and sending them on thier way to the story we know today. Because after all the tree of harmony has been around for longer than a millenia 🤔

Watch the last problem again. As in the flashback twilight is reading a newspaper it will say Foal Free Press but if you look carefully it will actually be symbols forming the words. Just pause the episode there and you will see what I mean.

Here’s something that just occurred to me.
In the first Equestria Girls movie, Twilight mentions the possibility of being given a kingdom to rule, and at the beginning of season 9, Celestia and Luna announce their upcoming retirement, stating that Twilight will rule Equestria in their stead. Could this have been foreshadowing?

I think that celestia is the only Known pony at that moment that can move celestial objects (think about her name I think that is implicit her abilityes in it) Iam agree with you that the tree of armony made celestia take the desitions to set the thinks in motion). These are my points
1.celestia doesnt seems worried about knightmare moon return because she had plans to deal with it ( she doesnt have plans for the other villians and her actitud is les confident in the other cases)
2.-she know a lot about armony and frienship— she must know that because of the tree ( celestia isnt perfect)
3-she free discord later in the show why not her own sister.

5.Did celestia and Luna go back to where they were born?They might've because of family and stuff but they probably didn't because of something terrible or normal that happened. When I say terrible I mean banishment for something they might've gotten blamed for or actually did. And when I say normal I mean like they reached a certain age where they can leave there home and start a family of their own.
6. The Book. Who wrote the book where did it come from what does the symbol on it mean?
7.The Flowing mane and tail. Like Celestia,Luna and Twilight cadence should have that flowing mane and tail but what does it look like and how come only the bigger Alicorns can have them? Flurry heart for instance she has been an Alicorn all her life but she doesn't get a flowing mane and tail do they have to earn it?
8.School for flurry heart. Where did flurry go to school? Was it the school of friendship or maybe a school in the crystal empire if so was she popular because of her parents or she is an Alicorn? did the students bow to her?
9.Traditions. Like Nightmare Night and the summer sun solstice did twilight get her own holiday? If so what would it be called???

Those are all my questions and theories sorry if it's long I always wondered these :p

We're literally told they are the same size. We can't assume that because they live in a mythological world, things like stars and the sun are "close and small". Evidence must be provided to claim such a thing. Especially not when Twilight has astronomy books that describe objects like comets with the near same definition as our own.

In short, The Elements took a gamble in finding in their true bearers and got Celestia got her family back.
Edit: Keep in mind that the sun is basically one big star. So I say it is still possible that the Tree did indirectly move the stars through Celestia in some way. Maybe by tapping into Celestia's magic in some way without her realizing.

So what if the everfree Forrest moved the sun (we know plants grow and clouds move without the help of ponies) but when ponies started living there and pushing it back it no longer had the power to move the sun, so then it was Starswirl's responsibility to take that place and move it

I like this idea a lot, but it got me thinking what if when someone is taken over by "the nightmare" Or what ever took over Luna's body when she got jealous of Celestia, they are still themselves subconsciously trying to get out of the grasps of the creature after realizing what they have done is bad, what if Luna was able to get free for a few seconds to move the stars and aid in her own escape just before the creature took over Luna's body again. I know there is no proof of any pony moving the stars but I think that bc Luna was originally in charge of moving the moon that, it would inquire moving the stars slowly over time, or moving them quickly to help the fait of equestria, thus aiding herself to get free in hopes there was someone in equestria that could finally bring the real her back to her big sister.

Tree manipulating things seems like the best guess honestly.
I got a friend who has a whole theory on that but he hasn't written up on it yet so I'll just say I found it plausible that their sun and stars are like are, though of course this is not necessarily the case. More interesting is that the stars don't move when the Moon and Sun are... this means the sisters CANNOT be rotating the planet, or the stars would appear to move about the pole! I hadn't noticed that before... Anyway, the 4 stars around the moon could easily be planets. This would indicate those are themselves somehow different from ours as planets in our world don't move nearly that quickly, and Mercury necessarily is always near the Sun.

Can you make a theory proving that the sun in that Universe isn't a star because until then this just seems like a cheap way to get out of the obvious flaw in your theory

even then, I reckon she'd have control over the stars regardless.

one can even say luna has control over the moon AND the stars, since both factors disappear when the sun rises, meaning it can support your argument that stars may not be as far from earth as it is in our world, as, if it WERE close, it'd still be visible in the morning sky

now, by this time, celestia has been controlling the moon and the sun. meaning she had to have control over the night sky, thus possibly even having control over the stars as well.

plus, Celestia is the only influential pony we have that can have a 'vision' while being old enough to pass it off as a legend.

Maybe, similar to how in Christianity, God had to send Jesus for saving humanity, Celestia had to fake a vision, pass it off as a legend, have her destiny student read the legend, and have the student THEN meet her destiny friends to counteract the 'threat' then she just have to pull a bit of light show, and manually getting Luna off the moon herself. this explains why celestia was gone without anyone else noticing until Luna's arrival.

She probably did this because
1: she had a vision of other, worse events that are going to be resolved by a team of ponies with the virtues of the pillars
2: her using the elements of harmony on her sister will not reform luna, so she had to nurture a new set of users to embody it.
3. probably saw a vision of twilight having to have understand the meaning of friendship as a path to becoming a princess, and a successor to Canterlot/Equestria

this also explains why now, of all times, she decides to hold her summer sun celebration on ponyville

tl;dr Celestia faked the whole thing, beginning to end, setting off signs that was actually controlled by her, and her orchestrating everything till her 'arrival'.

Tbh...this may be a long shot. But what if Twilight was the one who moved the starts. Not knowingly however, but maybe her will? Because in future episodes she became a star as she became an alicorn, she has raised both sun and moon, and in the end it could of set the whole timeline up from that one point.

Yeah if you follow the tweet from Faust and take it into account of our world/universe then the answer would just be gravity... which would make sense if Nightmare could get into a trajectory for earth but Nightmare would've burned up in the atmosphere and I doubt an alicorn could survive the blistering heat of reentry in our world.

Actually, we can assume that in their universe there are stars big enough to allow terrestrial planets to rotate around them. In the Big Mac Question, Granny Smith has a dream that she is “exploring strange new worlds”, and while this could be referring to planets in their solar system, I think it is more likely suggesting that their are other solar system and that ponies are advanced enough to know about them. Especially when you consider the fact that in her dream Mud Briar was supposed to be an alien, and if they have a good enough understanding of their solar system they would know that aliens don’t exist, unless their were more solar systems. We know they have an advanced knowledge of the solar system because Pinkie Pie day dreams about the other planets (which I assume are the same as ours) while formulating a plan to break into the castle. So lets just say you just got debunked.

Yeah no... I remember an episode where luna was having trouble in bringing the night (she’s missing the stars) then Celestia said “I’ll help you with the stars if you help me with the sun tommorow.” So this means Celestia can control the stars.

I think what the picture was saying is that the crown on top of celestia’s crown is the elements of harmony, since twilights element shape seems to be in that crown, and the other elements have become embedded in those amulets with the gold, so they were probably the gold around the element of magic.

@ArcheIsHere maybe it was already known kind of spell to send someone to moon or similar stuff so she just knew from previous uses of it or if magic in MLP universe has science-like properties (can be learned, new spells are created and stuff so is possible), she could discover to use stars as "anti-spell", also she could time travel after something bad happend (Discord, Tirek, Luna getting back herself or any other stuff) so she made sure to avoid such a scenario, timetravel is canon and Celestia is much more powerfull than Twilight so she surely could travel back for 1000 like years

I always had thought Luna was incharge of the stars because NIGHT. I mean Equastria isn't the real world and both the moon and the SUN are orbitting around the world, orbitting with some help from Celestia and Luna. But did Luna's powers just dissapear when she was sent to the moon? Did Celestia steal her powers? When she returned to Equastria, she still had her powers? Are both sisters able to control both the day and the night? This also is a question I have but onto the part we are about. This would make possible for both Celestia to free her or Luna to free herself and guess you got me there. Tree of Harmony is a possibility and not as the elements but it still has Celestia and Luna's cutie marks' on it's body. But what I think is nobody really helped her but the night, or stars or whatever itself. How did Discord come back? He was defeated with the elements of harmony, just like Luna. Discord is chaotic and the chaos between the crusaders set him free. And Luna's one power is the night. THE LONGEST NIGHT it was, wasn't it? If just a little bit of chaos set Discord free, it isn't surprising that the longest night set her free. Also before you ask:
Both her and CELESTIA'S powers were at max but why the longest night, not longest day? She was trapped in the moon and the moon isn't up at the in daytime.
Or maybe the spell could only last for that long of a time. She made it last that much because she knew she would miss her sister and she probably thought a 1000 YEARS was enough time to think about everything you have done. Why specifically on the longest night? Because the ponies WOULD BE scared if they knew their belowed ruler had set the villian free on long term. Maybe they never told that they both could control both day and night and appareantly nopony was smart enough to question how Celesetia could gain control over night so easily. Since the ponies were only told as Celesti: day and Luna: night, they believed that the stars had a role whie it was just a cover-up.
These are my theories. I tried to make them get along with each as much as posible. I dont want my two theories just busting themselves.

What I wonder more than that: how the hell do they have a nephew?! As far as I know there are only two princess sisters, meaning there is no third party. He is referred to as "Celestias nephew" multiple time which would mean that Luna is his mother. But that would also mean the Blueblood, a normal unicorn, would be over thousands od years old. But being a normal unicorn, he probably isn't immortal. Luna has no boyfriend, at least it's not shown and even of she had, Blueblood would either be dead or very very young if you think about the timeline. Luna was in the moon for over a thousand years. Had she gained a sun before Nightmare Moon, he would be dead. Had gained one after the Mane Six defeated her, Blueblood would be to young to participate at the gala.

Starswirl said that “You two have grown so tall” when they saw each other again. So he did not know of Celestia’s and Luna’s size, hinting to Starswirl seeing them during younger years when the two sisters were smaller, so Starswirl was probably sent to limbo before events of Nightmare Moon.
The Tree of Harmony was communicating with ponies after School Daze. So it took a few years for those powers to develop. They were most likely powered by the Elements until it was able to function on it’s own from the Mane 6 (Spirits of Harmony). Even though the Elements were still in the tree before the Mane 6, they didn’t have a spiritual connection with anybody.
Luna turning into Nightmare Moon was probably proved that it was because of her own envy, not gonna explain just rewatch Friendship is Magic - Part 1.
She popped out the hallway because Nightmare Moon had plenty of time on the moon, she might have figured out the banishing spell or at least a disappearing spell. She performed it on Celestia, most likely banishing her to the moon or somewhere like Tartarus.

The tree of harmony didn't even exist when Lauren Faust wrote that episode. It became canon years later.
Lauren Faust said "who" did it, but she didn't say "when" she did it.
"When" is probably "the last time Celestia used the elements of harmony". So the very same moment she banished her sister to the Moon. It had been a desperate and mostly instinctive move, but, maybe influenced by the tree of harmony (I don't think so, for the abovementioned reason), maybe because she couldn't bear the thought to loose her sister forever, in that very same moment she set in motion the things in a way that would have freed Nightmare Moon in 1000 years, Celestia willing or not (it doesn't even need to have control over the stars. It only needs the spell to be broken by that particular alignment that there would have been in 1000 years from then and, if the only way to prevent the alignement of the Sun was to not make it rise, Celestia has no choice anyway).

I don’t know who it would be and don’t have a very strong theory, but it could have been Sunset Shimmer, who went to the human world. She could possibly still control the stars even without being there? Honestly I have no idea, but I know that Starlight is not the controller of the stars, but someone a lot more evil.

What would her reasoning even be? She wouldn't be defeated yet until many seasons later. This happened in episode 1 - 2. She doesn't even know someone named Twilight Sparkle exists yet. @Bread T04STER-3 If Discord got caught on purpose, he'd have made it clear in the end. He loves nothing more than to brag about having "helped" someone.
You can't call Discord's decision to release Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow a good choice just because it happened to work out in the end. He just got lucky. Even then, it could have long-lasting negative effects, like making the different types of ponies distrust each other and potentially weaken their defenses against the Windigos. Also, for as much confidence as the Mane 6 gained from it, the Pillars probably lost a lot. Equestria would have been much shakier overall after that, which could cause problems.
Discord has a lot of things, but foresight isn't one of them. Is it obvious I'm not a huge Discord fan? Lol.

2. Starswirl said “you’ve grown so tall!” To princess Celestia and Luna, meaning they were somewhat small and young before he was trapped in Limbo, probably before the events of Nightmare Moon
3. No, not just pecause they have star in the name does it mean they raise the stars. Yes Starswirl used to raise the moon and sun and maybe stars, but with Luna and Celestia he has no reason to keep doing so. We don’t even know if the stars are a thing that can be raised in this universe.

Probably not, the stars were set to release her in a 1000 years as soon as she was brought up there, and Twilight definitely wasn’t born yet.

Probably not. My theory is that as soon as Luna/Nightmare Moon was sent to the moon, a 1000 year timer started and the stars would move little by little every year, until she was finally freed. So it’s still sorta Celestia who did it because she sent her up there and when she was sent up there she accidentally started a timer, which was the stars getting closer and closer.
