My god. I just watched this for the first time in maybe a year or two. The fandom may grow and evolve but those early days will always hold a special place in my heart. Absolutely beautiful.

@Narutokun1545 No... it really wouldn't. It would totally chance the tone of the music, which is fine on its own, but in this case means that the video would no longer fit.
@Stuntddude Yes, it really would. You aren't thinking about it the right way. Do you think rap always has to sound loud and almost annoying? No! Rap can be quiet and soothing, and it can sound perfect with this song.
@Narutokun1545 No. The video needs an instrumental, because largely the point of it is to tell a story visually, with minimal wording. It's a minimalist piece - the flat, undetailed, mostly lineless art style of the characters and symbols on cloudy, drifting backgrounds works with the abstract geometric and organic transitions, and the glowing sunbeam-like lighting, as well as the gentle, artificial pads of the music, to create a sort of cohesively ethereal experience.
Adding any sort of lyrical content shatters that harmony, essentially destroying the aesthetic. Adding anything too concrete or down-to-earth would stick out like a sore thumb in a video like this, and besides, it would defy the whole purpose of a minimalist work - the video says everything it needs to say with just a few words. Adding anything more is just unpleasantly unnecessary.
It's not about what would fit the song at all, it's about what would fit the video. I understand perfectly well that rap is not necessarily aggressive. That's not the point I'm making at all. Like I said before, I think it would sound fine in the context of just the music, but it's completely missing the point of the video, which is as good as it is because the stylistic agreement among its constituent pieces makes it greater than just the sum of its parts.
@Narutokun1545 No, I know all of that because I'm familiar with minimalism, I've watched the video several times, and I'm a thinking human being who can put 2 and 2 together and who is capable of reasoning about art and stylistic decisions, among other things.
I remember leaving a comment about watching this once the series is over, and now that time has finally come. Although I didn’t really watch this season, the show was such a big part of my life, and I’ll never forget it.
We all cry with those emotional PMVs, and sometimes it's more than just "crying", that's the power of Passion. Powerful emotions that you feel when you watch the show, gaze at art, listen to music or watch PMVs. @Qeustri Nemises Hmm I don't think that's quite what I meant then. I think the emotions I'm talking about are on another level than just things in our brain. I use to say it involves our soul, but that's just a "word", and those emotions hardly can be expressed with words. It's something "absolute", that you can't really explain. It does involve our love for the show, but most of all it is something you're not practically thinking about. It happens as a sudden strike, like an emotional part in a song... It can have many "triggers", but I noticed there's almost always music involved for me.
Anyway, about My Little Dashie, if you mean that you felt emotions because of anything "sad", then that's not what I'm talking about for sure. I think getting emotional over something that is sad is way too "easy", and not true "positive emotion". A lot of people might actually rely or that, even like it, but for me that's not the point. The emotions I'm talking about are not created from any "sad" feeling like RD disappearing in My Little Dashie, or the mere death of a character in a game. Way too "easy" to create emotion, know what I mean? I'm more interested in emotions that can come with any trigger really, but when it happens, it's something totally different than just crying because of a sad event. It's more like "feeling at one with the characters/the world", bursting into emotions as you muster up all that you feel for the show, without really noticing.

At first, the style really drew me in. I was like, 'This shit is awesome.' And then you got to the letter. I couldn't help but smile. Basically, this video gets all the yes.
Ever since I listened to it for the first time, I just have this special bond with it. I come back to it nearly every day, just to listen to it, just to relax, to feel empty for a while, and maybe cry a bit. They're not tears of joy, nor tears of sadness. I guess they're tears of contentness. Contentness with just feeling nothing for a while. Empty. Completely empty. Just enjoying the ambience and the music. Enjoying life a bit. This song does that. I don't know exactly why this song does this to me, but I can't say I'm complaining. It just, takes it all out for a short while. I can replay it as much as I want, yet the feeling won't disappear.

It Makes me cry everytime I watch it. Simply a masterpiece. Beautiful music combined with pretty, simple, yet touching visualization. It reminds me why I love this show so much. Starting from showing the beginning, orgin of whole story. Then comes the letter with words that every brony knows. First Applejack, representing honesty, but also being trustworthy, great friend, always ready to help. Next sweet and humble Fluttershy, showing that everyone deserves a chance and a bit of kindness. Then Pinkie Pie, loud and overactive extrovert, able to get every single pony to smile, even for a short moment. Next Rarity, even if sometimes self-centered, can give anything anypony would need. Generous, elegant and caring. Last one in the circle - Rainbow Dash, pony with great dreams, brave like noone, aware of her skills, but nothing can blur her vision of what wields the most important place in her heart - Her friends. Finally Twilight Sparkle, who learned how to appreciate such treasure she recieved during her whole journey with magic of friendship. This PMV just makes me so emotional. The wonderful use of color and effects and how you match the effects and editing to the music perfectly. And that ending quote. Perfect. One of my favorite PMVs ever made.

I stopped watching mlp due to personal problems in 2015, but every time I remembered, this video it came to my mind, I gradually forgot about the chapters, the fan art, the people I met through mlp, while making an ride to find myself, now I am real I don't live in an illusion, but watching this video still makes me cry like a little child, never forget the golden age his music his art, rest in peace my dear cat friend tom, I wish I could have enjoyed of mlp and your company more time but that is past.

This reminds me of my beginnings as a brony. I always thought that I was one of the late bronies. I thought that the craze blew over and then I learned of the fandom. But then I check a calendar and I realize, I've been with the fandom over half of its existence. For 3 years I've taught my self how to draw ponies and I developed my style. The thing about was if I didn't learn about the show, I wouldn't have my own OC. And by me not beginning to draw then, well I wouldn't have been a pencil artist, painter and digital artist all rolled into one. This is probably the first time I know for certain what I'm going to do with my life all be cause I wanted to draw myself an OC.
Today I learned that though a TV show may seem just that, it sometimes can change your life some much that, it becomes more than that. It becomes a get away from the news that talks about the executions in the Middle East, violence acting up in the nation. Murder and more. It takes you away to be with some of your greatest friends and idols. To learn from it and spread the change that started with you, to the world. Making the planet kinder. Sometimes, poking the troll isn't worth your time that could've been spent on doing something for the better. Step back and escape to that place, and when you return, bring some of it with you.

We have the same story!It all started with Cirelle,she inspired me to draw ponies. I quickly learned about ponies and became a brony.We became best friends. We are still schoolmates,but not classmates. We could still see each other,although.
So true! MLP helped me get rid of my depression and my suicidal thoughts . I believe God sent it. It isn't for everyone, but it helped me tremendously.

This video is so amazing, I literally started to choke up. I do not regret the day I found how amazing the show can truely be. I'm proud to say that I'm a Brony and will be one till the very end. (Now that I think about it, I've been a Brony my entire life ever since I bought many of the old pony figures when I was little.)

It's been a while since I've listened to this song, but holy sh*t, does it hold so many memories to me. They say a song can awaken a thousand memories (whether it be a particular event that happened, a person who holds a place in your heart, etc.) This song holds a special place in my heart because it's part of the Halo 4 remix soundtrack and LOVE Halo 4 (another story for another time), but when I saw this song paired with ponies, it brought me to tears at how beautiful this video was, sound-wise and visually. It's just... so beautiful. It brought me to tears then and it still does now.
Even when ponies end, the fandom will never die and ponies will hold a place in our hearts. We will never forget the lessons they taught us so that we may change the world, even if it's only helping one person and teach others about the lessons of friendship and, when we reach the end of our journey, we may all write a letter to Princess Celestia and tell her what we learned about friendship on Earth before we pass on to the next life.
Your comment actually made my eyes water... This is the first fandom (and though I hate to say it, most likely the last one) where I feel so many of it's members are truly loving, good people, and you sir are one of them.
The brony fandom is the reason I'm here today, and I don't mean this video, or youtube in general, I mean alive, and not just some statistic. I legitimately used to not fully understand friendship, I tried to use math and pure abstract knowledge to understand things. I didn't go out and have fun, I didn't hang with large groups of people, I was "that smart Asian kid always reading". I thought I had friends, but after high school I realized those people WEREN'T my friends, I felt used, alone, and as if I had no place in the world. I planned out my death about 6 to 9 months in advanced, eventually becoming less sad and more apathetic about everything. I'd seen the face of death and it didn't scare me. being lonely until I died of old age was more scary. around approx. 2 months before the final planned date, I checked out the show "at least people making fun of me while I'm dead will matter", I liked it, "at least I'll go out with some not so shitty memories". eventually I found out about local meetup groups, and saw that there was one in my area. "meh, I'll check it out, I'll just try to keep to myself, rather not upset too many people with my future death" I get there and for the first time in a while, I had fun, I talked to people, I laughed. I went back to a few more meetups, and then worried "shit, these people might miss me". the next meetup, I had my ride back home ditch out on me, and it was a 25 mile walk back home. I tried to quietly leave early but was stopped and asked why, as I had arrived shortly before hand. I explained my 25 mile walk home, and was told "well, do you want a ride dude?" I tried explaining that I had no gas money or form of compensation, "that's not what I asked lol, do you want a ride home?" I was confused, and said "yes, but-" and was cut off with, "then we're good, now put your stuff down, we're about to start a game" sure enough I got a ride home afterwards. after a couple more meetups I had realized something, I had forgotten about "that day" I had only partially prepared my will, and then realized that there's a reason I forgot everything: I had friends now, REAL friends, I wasn't lonely, and I cried tears of happiness. I promptly threw all the letters, last will, and synthesized poisons into a trash can and burned them. fast forward ~4.5 years, and here I am now, happier than ever, and living life to the fullest everyday. (sorry about misspellings, I'm pretty fuckin high right now)
@BLANK3T No need to apologize about the misspellings, BLANK3T. That's an amazing story and thank you for sharing it with us. =) I'm sure it wasn't easy to go through it all again as you typed it out. MLP: FiM has done something similar for me, in regards to my standards of someone being my friend. To cut what would be a very long story short, since I was 9 or 10 years old (I'm 23 now) I've lost many people I had considered my "friends". Several of them I even thought of as siblings. Most of them abandoned me once they found more "friends" to hang out with. I guess I was just someone that kept them entertained. The others I don't know the reason why, for they were people I knew over the Internet, and they just stopped talking to me one day.
Because of that, I put up a wall around my heart to protect myself and I considered everyone (besides my mommy) an acquaintance. I still do, but thanks to MLP: FiM I've learned what makes a true friend and that I wouldn't make any if I closed myself off completely, so I lowered the wall just enough to let in people who have the qualities that I consider makes them a true friend. Grant it I haven't met any people like that yet, but I've also only been watching MLP: FiM for 11-12 months and I discovered the brony fandom 6 months after that. So, yeah. I'm a foal in the brony fandom, haha.

Y'know, with the whole Twilight is an Alicorn thing, this PMV reminds me of two things. One, the fact the show will someday end. Which is depressing as all hell to even think Two, canonically Alicorns can live thousands of years. So, Twi will outlive all of her friends by millennia even. That little thing at the end where each of the Mane 6 appear and disappear until it's just Twilight made me realize, she's going to have to deal with watching each of her best friends that meant the actual world to her one by one die and know it will take her centuries to be able to follow them. It's actually a depressing thought really.
Ever notice how Celestia is getting weaker? That's why I think that alicorns don't live forever. Sometime over the course of the show, she and possibly Luna, are going to die, and Twilight and somepony else will have to take over. Very morbid, but its a thought.
This really does remind me how much of a better person i have become just by simply joining this community. That's the reason why it makes me shed liquid pride.

The colors bring about images of a hopeful and wonderful future filled with more than just friendship, but love and companionship beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

Not just friendship, but these amazing ponies. Never again will I be able to look at the colors lavender, cyan, orange, pink, yellow, and white without being reminded of them and the fandom that was a result of the show, and even though I wasn't one of the first to watch the show and only joined the fandom last year I can honestly say that I'm so glad that I didn't come across it after the show has ended. It would've been like discovering a utopian city where its glory days were long gone. Having been a part of several fandoms, I can honestly say that this is the only one where I feel that most of the members are truly loving, good people. So, yeah. I'm proud to be a part of this fandom and I'm proud to be a brony, and I always will be. In the end, I just hope that all of us who believe friendship is magic do or will have one or multiple friends like Twilight's, because we all deserve it.

For some reason this reminds me of the old days of MLP. I've been a brony the entire way, and even liked the older generation toys as a kid. When I watched the pilot of MLP I was hooked, it was my new thing.

when i joined the fandom in 2011 i never imagined it would be as big as it is today. it makes me wonder just what it will amount to in the end. what will it be 4 years from now? what significance does it have on this earth?
In elementary school, I never truly knew the magic of friendship. All my friends hung out with me until they found out what I like to do, or when I got glasses in the First grade. Only when in 2011, I had many friends who knew e for me, and truly liked me, was when I watched MLP. It's true how not having friends can make you depressed, but having just one or two can be the highlight of your life for the time. That's the magic of friendship.
I give you the most ultimate respect I can possibly offer. I have seen and heard so many atrocious comments from haters and this comment is just eyeopening and refreshing. everyone should watch this video, it has a meaning, and a reason. Friendship is a very powerful and important thing in our lives. This video inspires me, i hope it inspires others too.
If there was ever a MLP movie that wasn't just made to sell new toys, one with thought put into it, this right here would be used for the ending credits. It's that good.
In elementary school, I never truly knew the magic of friendship. All my friends hung out with me until they found out what I like to do, or when I got glasses in the First grade. Only when in 2011, I had many friends who knew e for me, and truly liked me, was when I watched MLP.
for this video alone you deserve a billion subscribers. This is the most fantastic thing I have ever seen, brought tears to ky eyesand made me fall in love with MLP all over again. Phenomenal job, keep it up and you can count me as another subscriber.
I watched MLP when I was 4, (watched it until I was 9) this video came out around then 1-2 year's, man sometimes I wish I could go back to then. I don't watch MLP anymore since I'm older now. I wish I found this sooner, don't know if anyone is even still active. The good old days

Wow, my old fandom and my new fandom colliding (Halo, Neil Davidge worked on Halo 4 soundtrack and this is from the soundtrack, and MLP:FiM). No matter what fandom I move from, which one I'm in, or whichever one I will be in, each leaves something with me. Halo showed me that to survive, we as humans need to work together and if we do, we can accomplish an feat. My little pony is showing me love and tolerance and reinforcing the Halo moral. Keep in mind that the first person to say "Ew, that's weird" sets the bar for the rest of the flock, no matter if they themselves thought it was pretty cool. Wanting to fit in, everyone will join in "Yeah, that's stupid" etc etc so they dont stand out and feel weird. Not to mention, society's preconceptions of ponies in general is that it's something childish, and for little girls, something we outgrow. So, just because of that, those people immediately shunned a beautiful masterpiece away.

this was the first PMV let-alone pony OR fandom related thing i watched, it was a time when i was first exploring the internet, i saw cute things, weird things, fucking TERRIFYING THINGS (THANKS CREEPYPASTA BRONIES AND JUMPSCARES) but i also saw beautiful things, and i kinda found my sense of music and art through this fandom, i found dubstep and EDM and realized how much i love it, i found an online, professional critic by the name of Lillian Orchard and realized i wanna become a show writer, and granted i dont really watch MLP fan videos anymore, i will always remember the Brony fandom as my first fandom, and my introduction to the wonder of the internet and creation <3

Needs to have a fic made about this..... Twilight saves her friend but busts up her horn, making it to where she cant use magic, through the help of her friends always being there for her, and her realizing all she needs is friendship the Elements give her back her magic.
I think learning to live without her magic and never getting it back would be more emotional. To add onto the feels it could even have her friends moving on, Rarity becoming a top designer, RD becoming a Wonderbolt, Pinkie Pie moving up into a catering business in Canterlot, and Fluttershy watching over an animal reservation near Manehatten. Most people hate bronies because everyone thinks you guys just fap to ponies all day. Personally I think there's some pretty awesome brony made music out there but I don't really like the show. I'm into stuff like September and Shy. Or Cupcakes. That's the good side of bronies for me. How you don't melt from all the love is beyond me.

They weren't going to cry over a VIDEO. You're missing the point. They were brave and decided to share something they know not everyone likes, with someone they loved, and their loved ones' friends. And was not only rejected, but told that what he likes is weird and horrible. I would feel pretty shitty after that, too. There's something to be said for people in this world who still have sensitive hearts and care for others. Not everyone can or should be a brick wall or impenetrable fortress.

This is just perfect. I love how it goes to a friendship report and says "Dear princess Celestia, today I learned about" then lists off the elements of harmony like she is just experiencing them for the first time. And the final bit where it says "It's the only magic I need." really makes an impact, considering all she did before meeting them was read books and study magic.
This is just so beautiful... The music, the visual effects, everything... It honestly brought a tear to my eye, because it reminded me of all the friends I've had throughout my life, new and old, lost and found...

Friendship should hold all these qualities and keep our spirits lifted and connected with the ones we love. It gives hope as well, that when we are ourselves (which so many people despise who they are) we are so capable of creating lasting friendships and love. This is such a wonderful show for all ages!

I have realized...that MLP FIM isn't as bad as it is expected. One should only just stick to what is fine, righteous and good and pleasant and avoid what is bad, evil, wicked and unpleasant. Bronie's don't just watch the show because its different, we watch the show because not only does it have good lessons that (we may already know, but somehow fail to carry on into adulthood, broken families for starters), but it allows us to see what our world COULD be (in terms of interaction) if we all were willing to drop our guns and be friends. we know this is unlikely, but its one of those things that many other shows dont teach as much, which is another reason that makes this show unique.

This is why I love your videos. You do absolutely amazing work. It's just so...flawless and inspiring to someone who wants to be able to put out videos of such high quality one day like myself. I'm quite aware of the dozens upon dozens of hours that go into these creative works of art when time is found. For that alone you have all my respect. Simply put, stop being so awesome haha. Regardless of whether or not you find the meaning of life lol you have to admit PMV's like this are really good, and its more about showing the relationships within the show and appreciation for the characters rather than how they've affected us.
This makes me think back to when I graduated nearly 8 years ago. Sure I didn't have close friends (nothing like the Mane 6 in terms of friendship) but they were still my friends. Unfortunately, as time went on and we all went our separate ways, so too did our bonds begin to fade. Though we'd always remain friends to some extent, it never again would be what it once was back then.
You see, it's not always about the show itself: It's about what it stands for.
Sometimes it takes an outside force to make us look inside ourselves and ask what really matters in life.
The world can be a miserable place, and often, the values of society aren't the right ones. It takes a beacon of hope and innocence, a light in the darkness, if you will, to help us realize what's worth holding on to.
And on that day, an intertwining friendship was made. This friendship was ravaged and tested, but always persevered.
This is the friendship we will carry for years after the show.
What I see you can learn something from the show if you take it into deeper meaning. the characters have qualities that we should have. This show is only the half of it. The spirit that someone else loves this show just as much or more than I do, fills me with elation. The more I see this fandom increase, the more it gives me hope.

The same thing occurred to me. I don't think there's any sort of copying going on, but the musical phrase you're referring to reminded me of a Bryan Adams song from the "Spirit" soundtrack. It's called "I Will Always Return". When the chorus comes in around 1:25 to 1:30.

This is the perfect realm showing both the passionate side of friendship and courage and pirde you can have with your friends. Togethre you can create anything you want, do whatever you want, and accomplish the most amazing things, but only if you do them together. Today, I learnt this, as well as a closer love with all bronies, hateful and accepting. I simply love everything about this fandom now.
It's not just the fact it's a good show, but it's also because it's a show most people would consider for little girls at first...and then realize that this is truly something special.

Usually it causes such an strong reaction because the show is one of the cartoons that more easily brings up memories, subconcious association or similar, I havent completely found out it's like, magic (hehehe), I know that it can be considered silly, childish to the point of being ridiculous, pure nonsence. I know what you mean is creppy damn, I think I'm more fond of cartoon characters than of some people but this is my escape from reality, I want to smile, dont take that away, not just yet.

What is the meaning of life to you is my question. Is it happiness or something else? The show makes a lot of people feel happy and I myself always feel much better after a shitty day to sit down and watch the show. It's not the meaning of life but certainly could be a virtue that life represents. Happiness is just a small piece, we as humans can and will fight to feel happy is it always right no, but that doesn't stop us from trying.
People say this show is just a show, there's no need to get worked up about it, and to be honest, they're right. There is nothing super special about the show. The thing that makes MLP special is the fandom. We help bring these meanings to the show, we've, shaped it in a way. We made MLP special and inspiring, and, well, everything, and this is an amazing example of what us bronies/pegasisters can do.

Back when i didn't watch MLP...i was a little bit homocidal...But after watching this show it filled my heart with love for the show and me wanting to see new episodes! And i stopped being homocidal so this show actually kinda saved my life... And i am glad for it :)

I've always thought this in the back of my mind but now seeing this video...my favourite element is loyalty, simply because it is not demonstrated very often like the other ponies' but when it is, it can be the most powerful and moving of all. That's definitely how I felt in Wonderbolt Academy when she was saving her friends, and that's how I feel now seeing the RD portions of this video :)

Wow, this was a very amazing PMV, one that I enjoyed very, very much, it was so peaceful, and I loved the art, and that is 100% true, friendship is tge only thing you need, because friendship is magic, I sure wish I had long-lasting friendships though :/
The show itself Is based on a group of friends That use teamwork to overcome and learn about the importance of friends. They are not perfect however, The friends have flaws and they are targets for those who seek to wreak havoc upon them. Other then that the show is praised for its quality flash based animation and deep character personality that leaves many doors open for the mind to explore the Idea of fan based pieces of fiction and artwork. I would recommend it, but at your leisure.

I cannot say much about this video that has not already been said: Coulour is good, bringing our eyes to the focus without a clash (most of the time); the animation is equisite, pays attention to composition ,and is perfectly paced with the music.
Speaking of the music, I initially did not like the ending progression. But, after listening to it again, I realized that it was an excellent choice because it leaves a feeling of hope and a sense that there is more to come: the story is not yet over.

By all rights this should have been an effect-saturated mess.
But holy crap, that couldn't be further from the truth. That music choice was absolutely perfect, and everything fit so well. All those special effects came together nicely and really improved the PMV, rather than degrade the quality as so many other videos like this do.

I'm normally not the biggest fan of PMVs. There are far too many, and to take the time to watch them all would be a foolish task indeed, so I only ever watch ones that either look good in the related videos, or are single-posted on Equestria Daily. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. Occasionally I watch one that I absolutely adore.

It's a minimalist piece - the flat, undetailed, mostly lineless art style of the characters and symbols on cloudy, drifting backgrounds works with the abstract geometric and organic transitions, and the glowing sunbeam-like lighting, as well as the gentle, artificial pads of the music, to create a sort of cohesively ethereal experience.
1 likeAdding any sort of lyrical content shatters that harmony, essentially destroying the aesthetic. Adding anything too concrete or down-to-earth would stick out like a sore thumb in a video like this, and besides, it would defy the whole purpose of a minimalist work - the video says everything it needs to say with just a few words. Adding anything more is just unpleasantly unnecessary.
It's not about what would fit the song at all, it's about what would fit the video. I understand perfectly well that rap is not necessarily aggressive. That's not the point I'm making at all. Like I said before, I think it would sound fine in the context of just the music, but it's completely missing the point of the video, which is as good as it is because the stylistic agreement among its constituent pieces makes it greater than just the sum of its parts.

@Qeustri Nemises Hmm I don't think that's quite what I meant then. I think the emotions I'm talking about are on another level than just things in our brain. I use to say it involves our soul, but that's just a "word", and those emotions hardly can be expressed with words. It's something "absolute", that you can't really explain. It does involve our love for the show, but most of all it is something you're not practically thinking about. It happens as a sudden strike, like an emotional part in a song... It can have many "triggers", but I noticed there's almost always music involved for me.
1 likeAnyway, about My Little Dashie, if you mean that you felt emotions because of anything "sad", then that's not what I'm talking about for sure. I think getting emotional over something that is sad is way too "easy", and not true "positive emotion". A lot of people might actually rely or that, even like it, but for me that's not the point. The emotions I'm talking about are not created from any "sad" feeling like RD disappearing in My Little Dashie, or the mere death of a character in a game. Way too "easy" to create emotion, know what I mean? I'm more interested in emotions that can come with any trigger really, but when it happens, it's something totally different than just crying because of a sad event. It's more like "feeling at one with the characters/the world", bursting into emotions as you muster up all that you feel for the show, without really noticing.

I come back to it nearly every day, just to listen to it, just to relax, to feel empty for a while, and maybe cry a bit. They're not tears of joy, nor tears of sadness. I guess they're tears of contentness. Contentness with just feeling nothing for a while. Empty. Completely empty. Just enjoying the ambience and the music. Enjoying life a bit. This song does that. I don't know exactly why this song does this to me, but I can't say I'm complaining. It just, takes it all out for a short while. I can replay it as much as I want, yet the feeling won't disappear.

20 likesI always thought that I was one of the late bronies. I thought that the craze blew over and then I learned of the fandom. But then I check a calendar and I realize, I've been with the fandom over half of its existence. For 3 years I've taught my self how to draw ponies and I developed my style. The thing about was if I didn't learn about the show, I wouldn't have my own OC. And by me not beginning to draw then, well I wouldn't have been a pencil artist, painter and digital artist all rolled into one. This is probably the first time I know for certain what I'm going to do with my life all be cause I wanted to draw myself an OC.
Today I learned that though a TV show may seem just that, it sometimes can change your life some much that, it becomes more than that. It becomes a get away from the news that talks about the executions in the Middle East, violence acting up in the nation. Murder and more. It takes you away to be with some of your greatest friends and idols. To learn from it and spread the change that started with you, to the world. Making the planet kinder. Sometimes, poking the troll isn't worth your time that could've been spent on doing something for the better. Step back and escape to that place, and when you return, bring some of it with you.

0 likesIt's been a while since I've listened to this song, but holy sh*t, does it hold so many memories to me. They say a song can awaken a thousand memories (whether it be a particular event that happened, a person who holds a place in your heart, etc.) This song holds a special place in my heart because it's part of the Halo 4 remix soundtrack and LOVE Halo 4 (another story for another time), but when I saw this song paired with ponies, it brought me to tears at how beautiful this video was, sound-wise and visually. It's just... so beautiful. It brought me to tears then and it still does now.

Your comment actually made my eyes water... This is the first fandom (and though I hate to say it, most likely the last one) where I feel so many of it's members are truly loving, good people, and you sir are one of them.

The brony fandom is the reason I'm here today, and I don't mean this video, or youtube in general, I mean alive, and not just some statistic. I legitimately used to not fully understand friendship, I tried to use math and pure abstract knowledge to understand things. I didn't go out and have fun, I didn't hang with large groups of people, I was "that smart Asian kid always reading". I thought I had friends, but after high school I realized those people WEREN'T my friends, I felt used, alone, and as if I had no place in the world. I planned out my death about 6 to 9 months in advanced, eventually becoming less sad and more apathetic about everything. I'd seen the face of death and it didn't scare me. being lonely until I died of old age was more scary. around approx. 2 months before the final planned date, I checked out the show "at least people making fun of me while I'm dead will matter", I liked it, "at least I'll go out with some not so shitty memories". eventually I found out about local meetup groups, and saw that there was one in my area. "meh, I'll check it out, I'll just try to keep to myself, rather not upset too many people with my future death" I get there and for the first time in a while, I had fun, I talked to people, I laughed. I went back to a few more meetups, and then worried "shit, these people might miss me". the next meetup, I had my ride back home ditch out on me, and it was a 25 mile walk back home. I tried to quietly leave early but was stopped and asked why, as I had arrived shortly before hand. I explained my 25 mile walk home, and was told "well, do you want a ride dude?" I tried explaining that I had no gas money or form of compensation, "that's not what I asked lol, do you want a ride home?" I was confused, and said "yes, but-" and was cut off with, "then we're good, now put your stuff down, we're about to start a game" sure enough I got a ride home afterwards. after a couple more meetups I had realized something, I had forgotten about "that day" I had only partially prepared my will, and then realized that there's a reason I forgot everything: I had friends now, REAL friends, I wasn't lonely, and I cried tears of happiness. I promptly threw all the letters, last will, and synthesized poisons into a trash can and burned them. fast forward ~4.5 years, and here I am now, happier than ever, and living life to the fullest everyday. (sorry about misspellings, I'm pretty fuckin high right now)

That's an amazing story and thank you for sharing it with us. =) I'm sure it wasn't easy to go through it all again as you typed it out. MLP: FiM has done something similar for me, in regards to my standards of someone being my friend. To cut what would be a very long story short, since I was 9 or 10 years old (I'm 23 now) I've lost many people I had considered my "friends". Several of them I even thought of as siblings. Most of them abandoned me once they found more "friends" to hang out with. I guess I was just someone that kept them entertained. The others I don't know the reason why, for they were people I knew over the Internet, and they just stopped talking to me one day.
1 likeBecause of that, I put up a wall around my heart to protect myself and I considered everyone (besides my mommy) an acquaintance. I still do, but thanks to MLP: FiM I've learned what makes a true friend and that I wouldn't make any if I closed myself off completely, so I lowered the wall just enough to let in people who have the qualities that I consider makes them a true friend. Grant it I haven't met any people like that yet, but I've also only been watching MLP: FiM for 11-12 months and I discovered the brony fandom 6 months after that. So, yeah. I'm a foal in the brony fandom, haha.

3 likesOne, the fact the show will someday end. Which is depressing as all hell to even think
Two, canonically Alicorns can live thousands of years. So, Twi will outlive all of her friends by millennia even. That little thing at the end where each of the Mane 6 appear and disappear until it's just Twilight made me realize, she's going to have to deal with watching each of her best friends that meant the actual world to her one by one die and know it will take her centuries to be able to follow them. It's actually a depressing thought really.

Ever notice how Celestia is getting weaker? That's why I think that alicorns don't live forever. Sometime over the course of the show, she and possibly Luna, are going to die, and Twilight and somepony else will have to take over. Very morbid, but its a thought.

Never again will I be able to look at the colors lavender, cyan, orange, pink, yellow, and white without being reminded of them and the fandom that was a result of the show, and even though I wasn't one of the first to watch the show and only joined the fandom last year I can honestly say that I'm so glad that I didn't come across it after the show has ended. It would've been like discovering a utopian city where its glory days were long gone. Having been a part of several fandoms, I can honestly say that this is the only one where I feel that most of the members are truly loving, good people. So, yeah. I'm proud to be a part of this fandom and I'm proud to be a brony, and I always will be. No matter what fandom I move from, which one I'm in, or whichever one I will be in, each leaves something with me. Halo showed me that to survive, we as humans need to work together and if we do, we can accomplish an feat. My little pony is showing me love and tolerance and reinforcing the Halo moral. Most people hate bronies because everyone thinks you guys just fap to ponies all day. Personally I think there's some pretty awesome brony made music out there but I don't really like the show. Of course, i don't mean there's copying going on at all! Just a similar melody in a fantastic piece. The spirit that someone else loves this show just as much or more than I do, fills me with elation. The more I see this fandom increase, the more it gives me hope. 0 likesThe same thing occurred to me. I don't think there's any sort of copying going on, but the musical phrase you're referring to reminded me of a Bryan Adams song from the "Spirit" soundtrack. It's called "I Will Always Return". When the chorus comes in around 1:25 to 1:30. But on topic, this is one of the most moving PMV's of this type I've seen. Love it. =)

It's not the meaning of life but certainly could be a virtue that life represents. They are not perfect however, The friends have flaws and they are targets for those who seek to wreak havoc upon them. Other then that the show is praised for its quality flash based animation and deep character personality that leaves many doors open for the mind to explore the Idea of fan based pieces of fiction and artwork. Speaking of the music, I initially did not like the ending progression. But, after listening to it again, I realized that it was an excellent choice because it leaves a feeling of hope and a sense that there is more to come: the story is not yet over.

0 likesBy all rights this should have been an effect-saturated mess. But holy crap, that couldn't be further from the truth. That music choice was absolutely perfect, and everything fit so well. All those special effects came together nicely and really improved the PMV, rather than degrade the quality as so many other videos like this do. You've got some real talent here, buddy. I'll be keeping an eye on what you do next.

There are far too many, and to take the time to watch them all would be a foolish task indeed, so I only ever watch ones that either look good in the related videos, or are single-posted on Equestria Daily. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. Occasionally I watch one that I absolutely adore. This is one of them.
