In a co-production by Jack Richardson and Jim Mason, the 1972 Antithesis found Gypsy signed to RCA Victor. Along with the new label, the band wore a new bassist at Randy Cates (replacing David Larson). As the first two albums disappeared with little recognition, the new record label RCA apparently insisted on some musical changes.
