I don't care what you say I'll never unsubscribe. You're the most relatable, honest and hardest working YouTuber I know. The amount of work you put into your videos and the fact that YouTube isn't your job is why I like you. We both got into YouTube around the same time. We both understand the downfall of this site and how it's NOTHING like it used to be. YouTube is my primary website, it has been since 2008. I originally subscribed to you when I saw your ytp "Spinge Bull feeds his snail performance enhancing drugs" and have been subscribed ever since. You reminded me of SantaWithTeeth or Kortez and I see you were also a fan of him since you showed his channel in your "Youtube has been on a downward spiral" video. Sure I originally subscribed to you because of your YTPs but I find your new content a lot more enjoyable, especially when you talk about YouTube and it's history. Your Meme Theory Trump video is a masterpiece and my favorite video is your Behind the Meme one mainly because of the normie and outsider part at the beginning. Keep up the good work man, I know you'll read this comment even if you don't give it a like or favorite. We need more YouTubers like you, people who make videos for the fun of it and just for profit. Good luck trying to get rid of your empty subscribers but my advice is just to forget about them. Whatever is left is probably people who haven't logged onto YouTube in years.

Your whole speech about introverted vs extroverted really resonated with me, and it made me realize something I had never thought about before.

Being a kid growing up with autism, it was very common that not many people knew I had it. Sure at the time I was growing up doctors were already becoming more aware of it, but not the general public. As a result I hardly had friends and always struggled to initiate conversations and was always told it was my fault for not accomplishing these goals.

When I was a little kid I was this little happy go lucky child that had no care in the world. I couldn’t talk until I was 4 years old, but it didn’t matter. I lived in my own little world and that was enough to keep me happy. I think that’s why I decided that I wanted to become a cartoonist or animator. To continue a childhood ritual.

When I was in high school, I pretty much hated everybody. It felt like I was witnessing humans walking backwards on the evolutionary scale, and I felt miserable because I had to work with people I didn’t like or didn’t take their education seriously, and they think it’s my fault? There is a reason I’ve become cynical in recent years myself.

And you know, even tho we live in the “PC” generation I still believe people really are judging by physical attributes and stereotypes are still being placed. I think you really nailed it there in your speech. People seem to care more about your skin color and how your ancestors must have been treated rather than how you actually are and what your real experiences were. It’s a problem I even face because I’m more influenced by older animation and I’ve heard criticism about being racist or poor representation (which does not matter if the characters are enjoyable).

Bottom line, this video turned out to be more incite full than I expected. We need more people like you. God speed to you, Lems.

Ive also been in the Florida public school system my whole life and I totally agree with what Emp is seeing, and I've been trying to explain this to boomers forever. Parkland shooting did not shock me. Schools get shot up because you're forcing people to sit in prisons in artificial communities where they do not belong and do not want to be. A community should be built on shared interests, values, etc. A school population is built on zip codes. Public schools are an experiment that are obsolete and failing; we aren't training farming communities to be factory workers anymore and kids officially spend more time doing homework and school than they do socializing with friends or family. If only we could make money and votes off of caring about the psychological health of young people instead of passing more gun laws, and maybe we could actually address the social phenomena of the school shooter.

This is still better than 98.7% of content on youtube.

It's refreshing to see Emp's actual personality once in a while. I'm not saying his normal content is bad, but seeing him being down to earth is nice. Yeah all youtubers (even ones who don't usually) do vlogging and we get to see behind the scenes, but even then they're usually still doing a personality or actually acting normal in some massive mansion or doing something not many people get to do. What this video is, is just Emp being himself, in a normal house, doing normal things and to be honest, I like seeing that side of him. Unlike other youtubers who seem unapproachable and sometimes almost god-like, Emp gives off an approachable feeling like someone I could meet on a street and just have a normal conversation with, which gives the video a unique vibe.
Keep up the good work Emp and I can't wait for part 2!

This was the best, most genuine content I've ever watched. I've never been more on the same frequency if you will with anyone's ideas and just being. Everything from your words to your tone to the trees in the back you talk to. Hell even the way you snip snip your fucking scissors, I don't just the feeling of this resonates with who I am.

I think more people should think like EmperorLemon, usually they talk about the shallow of a problem instead of going deeper to the important stuff.
When I was a teenager I had no friends at school, only my neighbours, and going there just made me feel terrible. Of course, I've never did anything crazy like shooting them, though I probably tought of that as a teenager.

That segment about school shooters was interesting.

I had a conversation with a friend about them and talked about how shooters loose their sense of reality when it seems reality is rejecting them. It's really unfair for a kid to go through bullying I have sympathy for them snapping when they feel like they're being edged out of society by other kids acting like an un-elected SS.

Being an introvert is rough, you get shit on by everyone, nobody is teaching these kids how to defend themselves socially.

I agree with your point about schools alienating introverts, but is it really worth it to separate introverts and extroverts? Kids will eventually have to interact with other people, it's not something that can be entirely avoided. So if you stick a kid in a room all by themselves, they'll probably have even worse problems talking to people than if they went to school.

I have an awful time trying to communicate with others at school, but you kinda just have to do it. Even as an introvert, I think social interactions can be a good thing, and through practice, I do believe people can get better.

Even so, kids are really scummy and vain.

This was very surreal, it’s odd watching the pure essence of another person’s otherwise average life. It’s something you don’t find very often on YouTube. It captures the essence of an otherwise forgettable and stale summer that only allows for quiet contemplation; its a feeling I’ve felt with the past few summers and will like experience during this upcoming summer. It truely captures reality in its truest form. I think it would be cool to see another one of these. Thank you Emp.

In all honesty, I remember watching this full-length when you uploaded it. I remember it being so...different. In a good way. It was almost therapeutic to hear your honest thoughts and opinions on...honestly, anything that came up, which this was. Even if the overall tone of the video's a bit negative, I feel you've got some good points here, and in honesty I feel venting in this way is a good and healthy thing to do.

Hopefully it will not become the whole reason your channel exists, which, thank goodness, it has not - Never Ever is a series I have genuinely become so excited to see the next installment of - the subject matters may not have interested me before, but you have a way of making them that much more interesting in the running time of those videos. You do great, and powerfully analytic work, and I'm a big fan of all of it.

I'd just kinda hope to see another big fat 'Emp Talks About Nothing In Particular And It's A Rip-Snortin' Good Time' in the future. I love how you comment on everything in such a meta way, emphasizing unimportant many popular events and things are.

I watched the entire thing and actually enjoyed it. Mainly the parts where Emp talked about the failures of the US educational system with their treatment of introverts and also the YouTube rants. Don't know if I've said this before but I've always seen Emp as a smart person who should have their ideas heard by others more often.

This is a response to the rant about the plane crash compilation.

I've seen some pretty hanus shit on YouTube that breaches the community guide lines pretty heavy, fully monetised no consequences dealt (that i know of) , I saw a car crash video complication once, all of the other videos in this looked real pulled from dash cams and CCTV cameras but there was one dash cam video that stood out, this little kid walks out in front of this car and gets hit and (assumedly) killed by it, You can't see the kid fully but you can see the top of his head before the hit, You can actually hear the hit to, I've hit the odd rabbit in a car before the hit in the video sounded realistic, You then see his mother run over to him kneel down out of view and start howling, The whole "clip" is about 7 minutes long no cuts no effort no (obvious) camera tricks, It looked real, All of the clips in that compilation were unedited and played fully I shit you not the guy that made the video comes in at the start of each clip and dribbles some shit into his mic and he has that overly positive annoying voice that far too many YouTubers use.

Another video I've seen before was a hunting video this dude finds a dead dear that had its skin ripped off and looks all mangled and fucked up, he walks up to it with hes camera puts in in full view close up and is like "well shit I guess there are wolves around here" like shit man how fucking thick do you need to be to not see that shits not OK on this website, Similar shit; saw a group of dudes make a video hunting wild Boers on dirt bikes, the guy that had the camera was chasing this baby Boer and actually trying to run it over with the bike and you can very clearly hear the thing squealing, This is animal cruelty. When you hunt you are taught to aim for the heart or the head because its the most humane way to kill something, This was just fucked up

Final example. This family had Rattlesnakes living under their house, Alot of them actually looked like it was close to 40 Rattlesnakes and yeah they had like 3 dudes with 24 Gage shotguns and a .22 rifle at the ready and more 2 dudes one with a shovel the other with a pickaxe, and they were shooting and chopping these snakes on camera, Now to be fair Rattlesnakes are probably one of the worst snakes to get bitten by, and no I was not overestimating when I said they killed about 40 of them but that shit should never have been put on YouTube. Man I love YouTube but I wish I had the ability to IP ban, Terminate channels and force their "earnings" to be given to charity. Shit needs to change, But no one listens to us.

45:53 to 59:42 is some of the most real and overall best commentary I’ve ever heard

49:53 to 51:25 really got to me and i think a lot of people on this video overlook this. Being the odd kid really isn't fun.
Honestly? As a kid (around 11-14) i could socialize and relate more to other adults, like teachers, than to most kids (The ones that didn't just mock and ignore me because of my age at least). They were open-minded enough to listen to my points and i would always get fair, honest and insightful responses, yet if i had tried to have this conversation with other children i would just have been looked at as a weirdo freak and laughed at.
Also, even if you're an introvert who doesn't care about social interaction, it really always sucks to not have someone to share your interests and relate with. I felt like the only kid in my school that didn't care about typical popular topics between children, like pop music or football. But even if i tried to chat about these topics on a slightly deeper and more honest scale, i would have been pushed aside just as easy as if i discussed my true interests anyways.
Children are pretty much normies, but to a socially violent extent. And yes, it has nothing to do with the internet or social media, nor is it a new thing. If anything at least the internet allows you to connect with more open-minded people that you can relate to.

That was honestly a really great talk about introverts.

This is the content I subbed for

I go to a small college where almost everyone I know used to be introverted in high school, and I recently thought that I had just become less anxious as a result. At school, I feel understood and accepted because its understood that everyone is socially awkward and haven't really spoken to anyone in high school. It might be that they're older as well. This weekend, I went back to my hometown where I graduated high school early to see how my old classmates were doing during graduation, and it was totally different. The kids in high school really are viscous, and part of the reason why that isn't understood is that it isn't experience. I thought that I was just less anxious, and I learned how to be social, but I was just removed from a high stress environment. Being around like-minded people, who were all the "weird" kids in high school, is really productive, and, if I had not gone back and met my old friends, I would not have known how much it was my environment that changed instead of me.

High school is genuinely a horrible experience, and I agree that it plays a large role in these school shootings, but without the experience of visiting that environment after doing better in a different location, I might not have. People have a tendency to take credit for things that happen out of circumstance, and I might have thought, like many others, that you just adapt to it, and its a needed part of growing up, but it really is an unadaptable environment.

when you were talking about introverted people in school it made me actually fucking cry. ive fainted during presentations because of how much i stress about them, and i visibly shake when i have to do any kind of group project or get forced into talking to someone. my classmates constantly ridicule me for this. I haven't had any kind of friend since 5th grade.

One of the arguments u hear for public schools is that it promotes the "social development" of the child, yet being socially inept could possibly make a student actually way more "succesfull".
Think about it, you need to invest time and effort into a friendship like any other relationship. Time and effort you could put elsewhere instead like studying.

Meanwhile extroverts who set their priority on forming and developing relationships, things the very same ppl coming up with that argument see as crucial in a childs development, are punished with worse grades.

About youtube's system, all I can see they are in a paradox of what they are trying to create. They, are trying to broaden people's worlds but at the same time, wrecking the whole system. For children it is indeed important that you have an isolated content group, where they can only meet videos they are supposed to. On the other hand, they are ignoring the users, who already grew a brain, and their demands for content. They are literally pulling a rope on both ends until it tears. Also they are conducting social experiments on children who shouldn't be subject to these testings. The isolation is also poorly carried out. By the time a parent spots wrong content on the child's platform, it is too late, because the child is now in a smaller web of hazardous videos.

About schools, introverted people and millenials, I claim introverted people suffer from either being labeled by others or from the fact, that the most important systems in their lives get ridiculed by individuals with a big voice. This is something a person with poor social skills cannot counter in any good way. The media should probably zoom in on cases of depression, self harm and suicide as well as these so called school shootings so that they might actually start looking for the answer from the right angle. If society doesn't give enough alternatives to children then it is no wonder that a few people will completely fail to integrate into society.

I’ve always found it difficult to relate to the issues going on in high schools since I’ve taken online schooling ever since I finished middle school. I might have been more introverted when I was younger and I can only guess that it was easier to grow out of it since I didn’t grow up an environment I’d resent. I don’t really know how differently my life would have actually carried out if I hadn’t had those resources.

I think society's misinterpretation and misunderstanding of introverts is a serious conversation that we need to have. That's something that I've been slowly realizing in this, my senior year of high school. This video has finally confirmed it.

In middle and high school, I had similar experiences. I was a big clumsy dummy and couldn't speak properly with people I wasn't familiar with. I still struggle with some of the awkwardness now, but to seem like a normal human being I have to almost calculate what I say and do before doing it. It's a gift and a curse. People normally leave me alone, but at times I need to interact, my brain is at full throttle.

The part about introverts and extroverts - I relate to this 100%. I'm introverted and I am currently in college and I'm finding it very difficult to make friends. Nobody seems to want to talk to me or anything and I feel like no one understands me

As an introvert I had some problems in high school: not being able to find partners for group activities for example. Those problems forced me to be independent, if anything I fought more battles against the school than my classmates. But many introverted kids are bullied, by other students, and by a school that expects them to try to fit in.

This really is a summer bummer

49:25 it's even worse than that. I was always small for my age and bullied pretty much up through middle school, but I was a rare exception as I beat the shit out of kids that tried to bully me. But then the schools, instead of acknowledging that kids gotta defend themselves and stand up to bullies, always punished me for defending myself, in varying degrees. I got suspended a couple times, which was actually a positive experience haha. Fortunately never got assigned 'in school suspension', dear god. But yeah I share a lot of your views here, I've absolutely hated school since middle school when I began thinking for myself. Even for ordinary people school makes every attempt to break down their creativity, imagination, and self-thinking, as well as giving them some pretty shitty foundations for social interactions (i.e. cliques, in-group/out-group, conformity, etc). People are often dogged by this rather 'miseducation' until quite far into their adulthood, when they wake the hell up at long last (sometimes).

First of all, instead of introverts, he actually means shy people. Not all introverts go through what he mentioned but all shy people do. Shyness is an irrational fear of social interactions and has a negative impact on your mental health (which in severe cases develops into social anxiety disorder). This is different from introverts who don't necessarily have anything wrong with them. In fact, extroverts can be shy too (which sounds even scarier than being a shy introvert D:). He also complains about how shy people don't need good social skills which is simply not true.

Let's talk about what Lemon thinks about social skills. The incorrect terminology made this really confusing, but assuming he meant shy, (since randomly changing from shy people to introverts makes no sense) this couldn't be further from the truth. not being shy in and of itself is a social skill along with properly communicating ideas, developing relationships, correctly responding to criticism, correctly responding to bullying and properly reacting to a wide variety of social situations. These are all skills everyone needs. The development of crucial social skills can be hindered by a lack of social communication along with a variety of disorders. Although introverts generally have less practice with social skills, they should at least get the social skills they need to get a job (even if it is an office job), and develop relationships that are important for mental health. Bad social skills can lead to stress and loneliness and please don't tell me that introverts can't feel lonely. I wonder if Lemon even knows what bad social skills even looks like. It seems like Lemon's social skills aren't all that bad if this video is any indication. Shy people often find it hard to talk without a script since it is hard to come up with stuff on the fly when you are nervous.

However, I don't doubt Lemon's past problems with shyness in school. His idea that people shouldn't be put into stressful social situations was maybe a result of his fear and pessimism toward engaging in stressful social situations (which is how all shy people feel toward stressful situations). Shyness is often a result of parents and/or other people criticizing people of their lack of social skills in a mean or unsupportive way. Avoiding stressful social situations seems to help in the sort term but only reinforces the fear and makes it worse in the long run. It is imperative that shy people confront their fears and learn proper social skills, and proper confidence and emotional support help with this. Sometimes shy people simply communicating how the people that are angry at them make them feel can help a lot. Group projects, will actually help a bit instead of make their mental health worse like Lemon suggests. Trying to educate parents with how to teach kids to be less shy however, would do wonders to fix the problem (even though being shy might have a strong connection with genetics).

Also, did EmpLemon seriously say that school councilors don't know anything about introverts (or shy people)? If they didn't, that would be very worrying indeed...

hopefully someone found this rant about a rant somewhat useful. I find the misconceptions about introverts and shy people annoying, and it is upsetting that EmpLemon doesn't know a whole lot about it either despite his experience with shyness. I wonder if Lemon is a shy extrovert since shy people are often appear to act like introverts but tend to have better social skills, want more friends, etc. . But then again, maybe his social skills are normal for an introvert and my social skills are exceptionally bad :p

As a side note, I definitely agree that school shooters tend to have social anxiety (which is basically severe shyness) and/or be bullied (I haven't heard of being introverted being connected with school shootings though). Changes in gun laws may actually reduce the frequency of school shootings a bit, but completely banning guns is unnecessary and doesn't fix the underlying problem.

One of my first curiosities I wished to satisfy was to find out how my favorite type of youtube video, Youtube Poops, evolved over the years. I must say, I am quite enjoying this new style of youtube poop. I mean, don't get me wrong, "it's a stone, luigi!" is one of history's greatest recorded phrases! But, this new, elongated, somewhat meta version of youtube poop is quite intriguing! Unfortunately, I'm not sure what else there could be to see. Does anyone have any recommendations? Let me know! Thing is too is that most school shooters had little or no father involment, and that's not necessarily the fathers' fault. One cause of fatherlessness less commonly known is because of the state (welfare specifically.) Some of it is also dead-beats, some is wrongful conviction, and in some instances the mother just kicks the dad out, (most likely because of welfare checks & not needing income from the father.)

Though what you said isn't wrong either. But adding both our arguments is that dad isn't there to instill good morals into kids. Something I heard was that mothers make most rules, but enforce them the least. Where fathers make the least rules, but enforce them the most. This balance is needed to raise good kids. I could go on, but this is already a wall.

I also don’t like the idea of the American middle school, as it sounds like its a school purely made for twelvies that can’t look up to or learn from older students like here in Australia. Middle school is just the two lowest grades in high school, and in almost all these high schools there are small programs where year 10s and 11s help out year 7s and 8s. Also on the topic of introverts, that sort of “group work” stuff is only really present in primary schools and early high school, as by about year 9 the schools like “oh yea everyone knows each other now.”

About the school rant, as a foreigner, who still hasn’t finished his education and lives in a country where bullying and especially school shootings are virtually nonexistent, I don’t really believe it’s an American thing, that introverted people are kind of ignored. I‘d say people here do care more about introverts, but only because we don’t really have racial problems. It really feels like people don’t quite understand how introverted people work. Just because you shove a bunch of people to work together from 4 to 7 years doesn’t mean that socially awkward kids will instantly become outgoing. I think our system is better on this front than the American one, but as I said, being less social than most is not something that can be cured as if it is some kind of disease, which is how I feel most people, not just in our respective countries, but in general, view being introverted.
