Luna always seemed to know something. Like when her and Celestia switched cutie marks, and Celestia tried to help Starlight 's nightmare, she asked what's wrong, but when Luna was helping the CCM, she seemed to already know what was wrong

That explains Luna’s cutie mark. The black blob represents a thought bubble. Dreaming. Luna didn’t walk in dreams back then so she didn’t have that symbol. It gave Celestia that blob with the moon when starlight changes Celestia and Luna’s cutie marks because Celestia then had the power to walk in dreams.

Hmm if Daybreaker took the place of Nightmare Moon, how different would the story of Friendship is Magic be?

Years ago I had this theory where why Celestia was weak in every episode and that she Loses in battles even if she's literally a princess and that would make me angry but then after seconds I thought...wait a minute...what if she had a reason for it? What if she was holding back because she doesn't want to let it out? Like what if she loses control of it? What if she was hiding something powerful? What if there is a limit on how much she can use her powers and energy in a day before she loses control of it? Because just as Daybreaker had said to her, that she holds greater power inside of her and she isn't using it. Daybreaker might have been a dream but to Celestia's face, she looked sad as if it was the truth...but then again...there wasn't much proof and I abandoned such theory but hey some of it could be true... The more you look into Celestia the more you feel like its mysterious

She was younger back then, meaning she may not have been as experienced and skilled to walk through pony’s dreams due to the fact that she just wasn’t ready/ didn’t have the power to yet.

That theory does sound solid, although I think it would have taken more than Luna developing a personal bond with her subjects to break Celestia. This is because Tia does have personal acquaintances in the show, despite having all those royal duties, so she most likely had friends she could turn to at that time, as well. If anything could break her, it most likely wouldn't have been Luna herself causing it.

If I had a guess, the most likely thing that could break her would involve Luna, though, specifically from Luna's misfortune rather than her fortune. Let's consider that Tia most likely felt regret toward her instinctive reaction of banishing her sister to the moon, like fan fiction would suggest. She could have been driven rogue at any point between that incident and Luna's return when anyone mocked or spoke ill of Nightmare Moon and took it too far. Fortunately, Tia maintained her composure, as far as we know. Also, the Mane Six might have created a different outcome using the Elements against NM, such as turning her to stone or worse, which could possibly tip Tia over the edge.

As for Day Breaker, I often wonder if that is really Tia's true dark form. Even though one of Tia's parallel world counterparts got turned into Day Breaker in the Nightmare Knights comic series, she is still allegedly a figment of Starlight's imagination. With this in mind, either Starlight has some subliminal sense to know an individual's dark side and manifest it in her nightmares, or Eris can see into the dreams of others the same way Luna can and give others fake dark forms with her magic. If the latter ends up being the case, then Tia's dark form could be anything, maybe even something far worse.

While Celestia may fear becoming like Nightmare Moon, I think feelings of jealousy and Daybreaker's helmet could create her villain version. Much like how the alicorn amulet made Trixie more powerful and evil. The reason I think this is possible is because of a series of Mlp shorts. The series of shorts are called the "FUNdamentals of Magic" in one of these Celestia mentions evil enchanted objects and it shows several including Daybreakers helmet. I think the helmet could take small feelings of jealousy and make those feelings a lot bigger creating a villain.

If you remember an old video from Sawtooth Waves, if Dark Magic IS Alicorn Magic, it would explain why Twilight, Luna and Celestial have “dark versions” of themselves. Dark and Alicorn magic are dualism, if Alicorn Magic is so powerful, there must be a down side to it.

Didn't Daybreaker mock Celestia saying, "Deep inside you know how powerful you are," "Who needs balance when you can have it all?", "Oh please, you can do whatever you want and all you have to do is get rid of anypony who stands in your way,". To me, that sounds like the temptation of power and control. I do think it's possible the lack of emotional attachment could bring about Daybreaker maybe along with that temptation. One's hard enough to resist falling to.

This video actually makes a lot of sense, and I really wish they had focused as much on Celestia and Luna in terms of lore and development as they did for the mane six and CMC.

I like how the first time we see Luna fulfilling her true destiny and actually connecting with her cutie Mark is was with the CMC, further foreshadowing their cutie marks

This reminds me of my first AA theory. The small changes in the timeline that could be made basically flipped the script on the charecters. (I know no one understood this comment)

I had just gotten an idea for one of the futures starlight caused. The last one really. What if from the pressure (this is celestia I’m talking about) or something similar from having to banish her sister or worrying about her sister’s return and not being able to change anything about it (because the main 6 aren’t with each other, especially since twilight wouldn’t have gotten into the school). So when nightmare moon finally came back, when they fought or when celestia was put wherever she was when nightmare moon was freed, celestia became daybreaker and they fought until either nothing was left or they were fighting when another villain came. Idk but this idea just randomly came to me when listening to this video again.

Here's something to add to this: Would Luna have opened the school of magic that Celestia taught? Would she have sent Twilight to Ponyville? Would the show have played out the same if Luna was the Ruler for so long?

I have an answer for Daybreaker:Luna has stars in the nightime and they look like millions of suns.Celestia might think they are suns,get jealous and will become Daybreaker.

Celestia is still more appreciated locally then Luna, so Luna could've still been jealous of her even if she was dream walking

Fascinating video and theory, thank you for sharing! I wonder also if another possibility is that Luna did used to dreamwalk even before she was banished, but ponies didn't really properly appreciate her or, worse, perhaps found her frightening? It's human (or I suppose in this case pony) nature to be afraid of the dark so perhaps ponies' fear of the nighttime and darkness extended to Luna, who became sort of the personification of these things? It's hard to say exactly, but evidently envy was a large part of Luna's descent into evil. I wonder also if perhaps she saw things in pony's nightmares (again, assuming she dreamwalked even before her banishment) that scarred and traumatized her. I mean nightmares are pretty frightening, but at least when we wake up our memories of them tend to fade and we're not fully lucid during them. Also nightmares are (hopefully) uncommon occurrences for the average person, whereas poor Luna would be fully lucid, remember them in great detail, and dealing with hundreds of nightmares every night! Even if she knows they're just nightmares (unlike the pony that is sleeping) it's still disturbing some of the stuff our minds are capable of conjuring up.

Interestingly, I think the opposite is true of Daybreaker. Celestia would become Daybreaker not out of jealousy, but out of arrogance and a hunger for power. In an alternate timeline perhaps Celestia would be less scrupulous and become corrupted by power, for as they say "power corrupts". In the episode itself Celestia says to Luna that Starlight's nightmare is what she thinks will happen if the two sisters continue fighting, so perhaps that is itself the answer. Celestia becomes Daybreaker and Luna becomes Nightmare Moon (again) because the two sisters continue to fight and bicker and their relationship fractures and becomes so toxic that they eventually come to hate each other and try to kill one another.

I've always had a theory since the episode where Twilight became an alicorn. In the letter Twilight got, it mentioned that StarSwirl had done this spell before, and that he couldn't reverse the effects. Since the effects happen to the ponies of the elements, when he did the spell, wasn't it Luna and Celestia who were the ones with the elements? Wouldn't that mean that Celestia used to have a moon cutie mark? And Luna a sun? If so, that would mean Celestia could turn into whoever, I guess. Also, going back to StarSwirl couldn't reverse the effects. I don't know if there are any flaws to this theory, since I made it as a kid.

This would also explain why Celestia was confused by Luna’s responsibilities in the dreamworld and the loneliness of it as she overtook Luna’s responsibilities while she was on the moon.

This is a really good theory! I think that this is why/how Celestia could turn into daybreaker. She would be jealous that she can’t/doesn’t have a strong connection or bond emotionally and physically with her subjects like Luna does. But that’s part of Luna’ job.
Her job is to fight nightmares and help pony’s. She does that emotionally. It’s not part of Celestias job or role in equestria tho.
Besides Celestia already has a pony who she is emotionally and physically there for all the time and will comfort her any time she needs it: Twilight.
Celestia has Twilight. She helps Twilight a lot as we see in the show. Tho that’s just 1 pony.
So it makes sense of Celestia would get jealous one day of Luna

This also explains why Luna's hair wasn't mystical and flowing when nightmare moon was defeated. She had to mature and unlock the rest of her abilities over time

My theory is that Luna could always dream walk. Let me ask: how often do you remember your dreams? As for myself, not often unless I have a nightmare.

Luna went unappreciated because no one remembered what she did for them every night. Or in my case, only when she fails.

As for Daybreaker/Nightmare Noon, it could still happen.

Yeah the show's over; but the loyal sisters were mysteriously absent during the epilogue.

One word: boredom. Think about episodes like 'Make New Friends, but Keep Discord,' 'Between Dark and Dawn,' and so one. She's not exactly mentally stable without her queenly persona.

I absolutely love Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. In fact, my two horses somewhat mirror the princesses existence.

The way its handled in the Hearts of Iron 4: Equestria at War mod is that, Celestia turns into Daybreaker after much militarizing and mounting sacrifice to protect harmony and her ponies as tensions with the Changelings grow ever more drastic, a war with them is inevitable and with managing her performative duties with her newfound military duties could overwhelm her with anger and stress. If Celestia boils over and Supernovas too early without the support of the ponies, a civil war erupts between her and Luna.

I stopped watching MLP in S3 but I will gladly live vicariously through these theory videos

I wonder if others have noticed- but the marking under Lunas cutie mark is very similar to the one underneath DayBreakers! Which makes me think the dark mark is almost like a cutie mark-scar! Left over to remind her of night mare moon

I always thought that it would be less of celestia snapping. More her becoming blinded by been worshipped, where she'd become hungry for more and eventutaly become a tyrant and try to take over everything.

I've always felt that Dream Walking was something Princess Luna gained/learned after her return, due to the reasons you give in the video, despite your initial assumptions to the contrary. I even had a headcanon at one point that Princess Celestia somehow gave Luna that ability as a kind of compromise/apology, but looking back, I don't think I think that now - Dream Walking should be Luna's own ability, as it goes with her Princess of the Night title, even if (in my headcanon) it was something she gained later on.

I like your theory on how Celestia could have become Daybreaker.
(Side Note: I may have only just realized that the name Daybreaker sounds kind of cool - I know some bronies wanted her to be called Solar Flare, but that just makes me think of Gangnam Style, so I probably wouldn't take the name seriously - respect if they prefer it, though.)

I actually offer a different timeline,, one that works more directly with the main one:

A proto Daybreaker already exists, locked away in Celestia's subconscious after she began to fall down the rabbit-hole of unchecked power and glory.
In this theory, she began slowly becoming drunk with power, not enough to be a danger, but enough to start neglecting her sister. Luna, feeling abandoned, slipped down her own pit of despair and jealousy. When Celestia began noticing her sister's colder behavior, she kept hearing a little voice in her head, telling her that Luna was worthless, but Celestia knew it was wrong, so she began fighting it, eventually pushing the voice deep into he subconscious, only to be heard from around the time of the 100th episode and finally being put to rest in A Royal Problem.
Unfortunately, she was too slow in locking the voice away initially, leading to Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon.

And honestly from there, it's fun to speculate the idea of all alicorns having this sort of negative potential, a super-powered evil side that embodies their most dangerous traits that they have to overcome. A nice drawback to the otherwise limitless power of alicorns.

In Equestria at war, Celestia became Daybreaker because of the stress of ruling over Equestria during a second changeling invasion and her subjects constantly questioning her authoritarian changes and reforms. That gave her more power over her subjects an unruly nobles. She became the very thing she sought to destroy, almost like an emperor of man type figure. One of the trees in the game even leads her to being worshipped as a god by her people, with temples built in her name and an army of individuals willing to die to spread her 'holy light's to every part of the world.

I honestly think any powerful being can fall down these dark paths for a multitude of reasons.

The Equestria at War Mod for Hearts of Iron 4 also gave a good way for Daybreaker to come out. The stress of prosecuting a conventional war combined Celestia's rather protective nature. Only time could tell if Daybreaker stays true to Celestia's principles and become Queen Mother of Ponykind or Embraces Darkness and Become God-Empress of Ponykind.

Hey sawtooth, I noticed that nightmare moon and daybreaker both have a sort of "blotch of color" layer under/around their cutie marks corrisponding to their color pallet, the former having a cloudy black and the latter having a firey orange. Could this confirm that in some way there was some sort of magical interference to both of them being made into an evil pony? And would celestia have this firey orange instead of luna with her cloudy black underlying her cutie mark?

Judging by Daybreaker’s dialogue in her debut episode, I think that instead of being jealous, Celestia would grow an ego and eventually begin to think that she was vastly more important. With Luna having little to no connection to her subjects, there was no need for her, in Celestia’s eyes at least. So, she decides to attempt to get rid of Luna, in favor of keeping everything to herself. With no pony to turn to any other princess, all the power and adoration will be hers.

This theory actually makes sense.

I have a hole in this theory. When in Season 3, the main 6 had to give up the Elements of Harmony, Twilight drank the potion from Zecora, showing firstly, when Luna became Nightmare Moon. As we all know, the Moon is closer to Earth than the Sun. Luna only became Nightmare Moon when raising the moon over the Sun to cause a Solar Eclipse. The theory is based of the impression that the jealousy of Luna caused her transformation. Although there are two different sources, there’s more information to support that it was the rising of the moon on top of the sun that transformed Luna. For starters, this is the actual time recap, a visual explanation, rather than a tale. Additionally, everyone in Episode 1, Season 1 all thought the Mare in The Moon (Nightmare Moon) was an old ponies tale. Only Twilight (and Celestia I think) had connected the dots. I believe that because the tale was so old, it was told along the time like Chinese Whispers. Changing slowly overtime. Only Celestia had the true story. Therefore, maybe Daybreaker was created by another astrological phenomenon. A Lunar Eclipse. An eclipse is when one celestial body is covered by another. A Solar Eclipse (what cause Nightmare Moon) is when the Moon is Eclipsing the Sun. A Lunar Eclipse is when the Moon moves into the Earths Shadow (what could potentially cause Daybreaker). If Celestia had raised the Sun and the Moon for 1000 years, than she could purposely position the Moon into the Earths shadow, allowing day to take over, and the moon to be removed from Equestrian vision. With that being said, Lunar Eclipse’s only happen in three sections. Total, penumbral and partial. Total is when the moon is fully visible, penumbral is when it’s partially visible and partial is when it’s more then partially visible. A total eclipse only happens in a small area, so maybe there’s more to this theory that you could decipher?

Daybreaker was Starlight's fear of what could happen if the sisters fell out in present day. Not sure there really was a likely set of circumstances that could have created her 1000 years ago.

I have a theory. After Nightmare Moon became Luna again, as you can see, the "black mark" on Luna's cutie mark still remains, and that is after she became nightmare moon. What if that part of her made it so that Luna could walk in dreams, but at the same time uses it as an opportunity to free itself and corrupt Luna again? As seen in an episode, a blob does try to escape the dream realm.

But Celestia didn’t understand the entirety of how important Luna’s dream walking is until A Royal Problem. She says herself “you spend your evenings flifting around giving ponies lovely dreams”, implying that she didnt understand the whole picture with Luna’s dream walking (yet), and not understanding that the ponies go to her for most of their emotional support, giving her nothing to be jealous of. And the ponies still really liked her sun.

Hold up, Daybreaker is just Nightmare Moon inverted with a few design changes??? How am I just realizing this.

How I see Celestia turning into Daybreaker is this:
Instead of Luna growing jealous, Celestia develops a huge ego. She starts craving more attention and admiration and that if she doesn't get what she wants she'll break and use force to make sure everypony keeps loving her.

I think Celestia turned into DayBreaker because she wanted all the authority for herself, and be the only princess, like Luna.

Someone might have already mentioned this but if the two sisters have the potential of having a deranged side does that give the other alicorns the potential as well?

Theory: Luna was able to walk into the dreamworld even before she turned into nightmare moon
She was able to help ponies from their nightmares but most ponies forgot about it.
Since dreams can easily be forgotten and most ponies would probably brush it off by saying "it's just a dream"
Then it would make Luna more jealous of her sister

Here's another interpretation of how Daybreaker can come to be. A way where it could have happened thus leading to Celestia being the final boss of the show (Honestly the way I would have ended things).

Over the course of the series, Celestia has been made helpless time and time again. More and more, we see that Equestria has come to harm countless times, and Celestia is powerless to do anything. Instead, Equestria turns to her student, Twilight Sparkle, and her friends as the Elements of Harmony. However, this has begun to wear on Celestia's mind. She's their leader. She's their matriarch. She's the one they rely on. At least, they should be.

And adding onto the idea that Luna's begun dream walking, we see that Celestia is being left behind. Ponies talk about Twilight and her friends, they discuss wonderful dreams with Princess Luna, but all of Celestia's interactions are like you said, superficial. Okay, not all of them, but really the only ones who see her as a pony are Luna, Twilight, Cadence, and the other Elements.

See the problem here?

Her only companions are the ones she's jealous of the most. This festers, grows, and soon becomes anger, resentment, and ultimately, hatred. Celestia begins to have violent thoughts. Thoughts of just... hitting the reset button. Burning it all away...

BURN!!!!!!

Thus leading to what is ultimately a being far more dangerous than Nightmare Moon could have ever been, and Twilight's toughest battle. Both because of the sheer raw power Daybreaker has... and who it is behind that flame.

I've never actually seen this episode and I was confused whether Daybreaker was an oc or not. 😂

I remember when I was younger(This was before Daybreaker ever appeared) if Celestia could do the Luna thing and have a “dark” form.
So I created an alternate timeline where she realized Luna was becoming jealous and cast a spell to absorb those emotions into herself.
She essentially became the inverse of Nightmare Moon, but with the same story. She even got trapped in the sun for a thousand years because that totally makes sense.

And her name?
Her name was...

Daymare Sun

The theory makes sense.
But I also think that if Luna did dream walk before she became nightmare moon, she may have taken a very hands off approach. Like, she only observed the dreams, making sure no one was in real danger, or could become a danger to others. Or maybe her duty before without dream walking was to make sure no evils came to harm the pones in the night while they slept. Or maybe, like the potential for now, it's possible she did both- watch the dreams without interruptions and keep the ponies safe in the real world while they slept. Except now she decided to take a hands on approach to the dream walking. Help the ponies more directly.

I think that it always has been Luna‘s job to raise and lower the moon and walking in others dream to help them overcome their fears and comfort them. I also think that the reason she got jealous was because she thought that even after helping the citizens at the night they like Celestia more than her. And one day she was filled with so much jealousy she turned into Nightmare Moon. But she was mistaken. The citizens didn’t like Celestia MORE than her they liked both of them the same way. And if Luna knew that she wouldn’t turn into Nightmare Moon. And I don’t think that Celestia would turn into Daybreaker because of that. She is too understandable for something like that to happen. But maybe your theory about the reason why Celestia opened the School for Gifted Unicorns is true or at least I think it’s true.

Celestia has a much more stable personality and higher tolerance than any other pony so her transformation is very unlikely to happen.

But if it were to happen, it would be an apocalypse of a magnitude Equestria has never even remotely seen before.
Celestia was able to win against Nightmare Moon because she had a massive power advantage, yet still she got injured.
Luna would have gotten utterly obliterated even if she showed no mercy and tried to go all offensive.
I would even go as far as saying that the elements of harmony would lose to Daybreaker if she used all her power to resist them.

It’s strange that there haven’t been any more known occurrences of ponies becoming an evil alter ego in equestria. Surely if it just requires strong negative emotions then it would be a regular thing..? Or there’s also a possibility that it could be some sort of spirit who was possessing Luna, as shown in the Nightmare Rarity comic. I know it’s not canon but still... If it was really a conscious being who was creating these evil ponies then it would make sense that they’d target the two most powerful ponies in equestria, or atleast the fact that they’re the rulers. Idk it’s just strange that the known history has only recorded it twice over two different realities.

I feel that Luna could dreamwalk before she became Nightmare Moon but the ponies of the past dreamed of Celestia due to them viewing her as a perfect mare. Even in their dreams, the ponies still focused on the glamorous Celestia over Luna and that might have been another push towards the edge. Now during the time of Twilight, ponies appreciate Luna a lot more. Why they didn't just appreciate her at the start instead of after she was reformed? My best guess is referencing the old saying "You never know you had something good until you've lost it."

I like how everyone talks and knows about Celestia's and Luna's alter-egos: Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon, yet no one speaks of Cadence's, or Flurry's or Twilight's alter-egos...

Dude, so remember how there are infinite timelines, dimensions, futures, etc?

So, what if one of those dimensions were the opposite on Equestria?
Kinda like an anti-universe and anti-matter.

Basically what would most likely happen in this opposite/parrellel universe would be things such as:

-The tree of disharmoney
-The elements of disharmoney
-And ruled by the princesses alternate versions

Bro, that would have made such an amazing final and it would be really cool too

Luna could have still back in the past walked in dreams but saw how pony’s did not appreciate her or her night and also saw how some could have been afraid of her night so she could have gotten jealous as people weren’t afraid of her sisters day and some may not have accepted Luna as a second princess 👸🏻

I think twilight might go rogue sooner or later because when the book closed it showed all of them old, and since twilight can live longer than all of her friends because she’s an allicorn, she’ll have to watch all her friends die one by one. I also think starlight might become a princess as well. It also shows that Granny Smith died because apple jack had her scarf on at the last episode, therefore twilight’s lifespan had been expanded

Honestly, I think every alicorn has a 'tyrant form' or at least the capability for it.

Lunas and Celestias would most likely be caused by the jealousy and loneliness like Sawtooth said because until the sun and moon find a balance when it comes to interaction, there's always the possibility.

But with Twilight and Cadance, they represent friendship and love but they're also immortal. The rest of the mane six dying as well as shining armour could easily make them feel empty or like they can no longer represent what they're meant too.

Another possible reason for Cadance could be Flurry Heart growing up and not needing her because honestly, Cadance seems to be more about blood related bonds.

Regarding Flurry Heart, I don't really know what aspect she'd rule because she's a baby but it'd probably be protecting the crystal heart.

Because her mum would be in charge of the social interaction, it could easily feel like she's just stuck in Cadance's shadow and just being used to do what Candace can't.

As to what they would do:
Nightmare moon caused eternal night probably with the thought process that pony's would have to be awake at night and speak to her.

Daybreaker would cause eternal day for the same reasons as nightmare moon.

Evil Twilight would probably either begin ruining friendship or begin putting false friendships in people's heads to make everyone be her friend and so that they listen to her because we all know twilight loves to be in control. Also, I've just realised, twilight is a high candidate for this because she hasn't got another alicorn whereas Luna has Celestias and Flurry has Cadance.

The already existing Alicorns wouldn't be able to do that for twilight because they don't really reside close to each other and also, with Cadance, Celestia and Luna, Twilight sees them as parental or older figures which are generally harder to be chill friends with and Flurry would have teh same problem with Twilight stopping them opening up to each other. Twilight can't just have normal pony friends cause she'll outlive them. Ironic how the alicorn of friendship is destined to be alone.

Evil Cadance, if she was triggered by something happening to shining armour, would either begin ruining the romantic relationships of others or go a bit changlings and take their love for herself.

I don't think she's likely to transform in this scenario because she would know she has to comfort Flurry and that would occupy her. But, if Flurry ran off by herself as a reaction to her dad dying, it's possible.

If evil Candance came about because Flurry doesn't need her, I can imagine her kidnapping all the fillies and trying to be a parent to them but being more like a harsh ruler and she ends up using them to get Flurry.

Evil Flurry: She wouldn't come about from her dad dying because she'd have her mum and if she did runaway, she'd probably feel guilty and I just can't see her emotions festering to that point.

If she came about because she felt in teh shadows and used, she'd probably do what King Sombre did and also try to kill Candance.

Also, I think this is most likely to happen in Alicorns because these seem to be like a pony parallel to the demon thingys in the human world taht sunset and human twilight turn into. You need great magic and great negative emotions or desires to become it and while yes other pony's could obtain that power, alicorns already have it so they're like a ticking time bomb.

Regarding the fact that Sunset did become a good demon or angel I guess in equestrian games, it'd probably happen in the same scenario but ponify it and instead of the amulet throw the elements of harmony in there.

And also this explains Lunas black mark on her cutie mark. After becoming that tyrannical form, it appears as a reminder and sign taht she has lost her way before. When her and Celestia switch cutie marks, teh black mark also transfers to Celestia because its most likely more attached to the magic that allowed it to happen rather than the reformed pony that it did happen to.

Oh and when Cozy Glow briefly becomes a monstrous tyrant, that was just Discords chaos magic doing its thing.

I actually have a theory that luna could walk in ponies sleep before she became nightmare moon, because I read nightmare knights, and she said that she could wke, and walk in ponies dreams. The only difference between the two is that before luna didn't have the passion, the understanding she did after nightmare moon

I think since the tanibus is still a part of Luna,when Starlight switched the cutiemarks,the part of Luna that's nightmare moon went with the cutiemark and it became a part of Celestia. I think the black part of Luna's cutiemark is the pastas nightmare moon. It probably formed over time.

I love this theory the only thing is that the commics just yeet it out of the window, the spirit that corrupted Luna is on the moon, that also explains why Nightmare Moon could not be changed back while she was emprisioned there, there is also the fact that ~spoilers~ Nightmare Rarity is a thing in the comics, which came to be just because she ended up on the moon, and got corrupted by it. My theory is that she could walk in dreams before she got turned into nightmare moon, because there's not a real reason why she couldn't have done it other than she never reached her full potential. Not even close. But if that's the case, she was looking for power, and if it wasn't, then i guess people never really needed her much in the dream realm back then. Which would make me jealous too.

In the first episode of season 9 King Sombra made Twilight view her greatest fears. In that vision, Celestia and luna turn into Nightmare moon and Daybreaker. That means either Twilight OR King Sombra are aware of Daybreakers existance to some degree.

Didn't Daybreaker mock Celestia saying, "Deep inside you know how powerful you are," "Who needs balance when you can have it all?", "Oh please, you can do whatever you want and all you have to do is get rid of anypony who stands in your way," so... it seems like by these lines, she'd turn due to being power hungry, if she didn't care about the ponies she ruled, it'd end like this possibly, creating Daybreaker. The IDW 5 part comic series “FIENDship is Magic” reveals that Nightmare Moon got her dream powers when she got banished to the moon.

Tbh I think Day Breaker could only truly happen after Nightmare Moon, I mean think about it. Day Breaker is arrogant, she wants to rule alone and have all the power, if I recall, but compared to Nightmare Moon who was over jealousy of her sister, Day Breaker would've been power over her sister; almost jealous she can't have it all.

In later episodes there seems to be some resentment between them because of their differences in ideas and it's even pointed out through Spike mentioning it before and, obviously, Starlight's episode. Who's to say Day Breaker was something to come ?

by my side i think that after luna turned back to herself she has been helping everyone but celestia has only been doing her royal duties rather than helping other people and then everyone gave luna more atention rather than celestia that made celestia jelous and turned her into day breaker .

My theory:
I think Celestia would become daybreaker beacuse of jeolousy like Luna. Beacuse Luna gets the appreciation beacuse she comferts people in theyre dreams, but Celestia on the other hand cant mostly interact with ponies beacuse of duties and her mostly focusing on the land. But i kinda debunk this beacuse Celestia dosent know what Luna does in dream walking.

Luna was jeolous beacuse of the appretiantion Celestia was getting.
What if Celestia is jeolous of Luna beacuse of her history of night mare moon that made her interesting to Twillight Sparkle.

Maybe its their past? Maybe Luna had some appreciation in the past that made Celestia go on edge but she kept calm beacuse she didnt want the land to fall into chaos. And as time went by those memories stuck with her but she didnt care about them. But her appreciation made Luna put the land in chaos.
After all Celestia did blame herself right?

Maybe Celestia is connected to a motivation that is slowly turning her into day breaker.
Plus day breaker was right that if Luna can turn into night mare moon Celestia can turn into day breaker. Her motivation like Lunas is trying to turn her evil but beacuse she saw the land fall in chaos in the past stay away from negative energy

maybe after Luna transformed back to just Princess Luna from Nightmare Moon, the two alicorn sisters did some research on magic to see what else Luna can do, and they found that she could try to dream walk.

Daybreaker would have been a fantastic final villain in the show, let's be honest lol

what I got from the royal problem is that Daybreaker wasn't wholly starlight's imagination while nightmare moon was, due to the plot point that if you fail history may repeat itself.

also I believe Daybreaker was a subconscious image from Celestia that bled out into starlight's just as Luna is able to manipulate dreams Celestia with that power can too. in short her experience or lack there of led to her subconscious demon to leak out. there's a few things that point to this

1. Daybreaker barely acknowledges Starlight focusing purely on Celestia until dream nightmare moon attacks her.

2. Luna says daybreaker's name even though by appearances this is her first appearance which tells me Luna knew of her from watching her own sister's dreams. thus it seems this Daybreaker persona came close to taking over then we thought.

Celestia saying "you will never exist again" whilst this can be interpreted in two ways being that of they existed before but will stop now or that she will never exist after this moment forward, both are interpreted differently but both are true as I believe Celestia meant that Daybreaker's tormenting Celestia ends and will never occur again.

as for your theory it is most likely to be the case. that the discovery and use of the dream realm is what gives Luna the admiration she desires which is why she instantly becomes defensive when Celestia disparages Luna's use of dream walking as easy and not really a hard job.

I say mental or emotional abuse, as the "Queen to be." Even though she calls herself a princess, she is queen. Her parents could have pushed her off the edge. I think they didnt mind her feelings. She was never good enough. I think that's why she smiles so much. It looks forced, fake. I know it's a lot to assume over a facial expression, but yeah. She was probably always secretly jealous of her sisters freedom. Her sister having freedom AND being appreciated too would've probably been enough to push her off the edge. Not just her sister getting attention.

I actually don’t think this theory is very accurate. Even if Luna started walking in dreams, Celestia would’ve been greatly desired and I honestly don’t think Luna dreamwalking would’ve changed much considering she’s seen as inferior to her sister. Also, listening to Daybreaker’s comments throughout the episode, she’s talking about power. She’s power-hungry, obsessed with it and wants all of it. She’s like the sun, immensely powerful but also incredibly destructive. And I believe her desire for power, without a sister to share in their duties, is what leads her to become destructive

Well in the comics after Luna is sent to the Moon she found the Creatures that make dreams and then she corrupts them, Probably after she was defeated the Dream Creatures can't make dreams anymore so Luna probably replaced them untill they can recover back

she could have gotten mad because if a time traveller (like starlight glimmer) were to change the future she might say fake negative stuff to celestia about luna pushing celestia to become daybreaker. Daybreaker would win because if daybreaker had enough power to defeat celestia she could easily defeat luna. Although starlight glimmer would need to be evil to do that.

I don't think that the motivation of Daybreaker are jealousy, she is more superb and I think that only the fact that Luna hadn't corrupted would do Celestia not matured in time, she would not stop being blinded by her own light and ending becoming daybreaker

My theory: Luna turned Nightmare Moon because nobody wanted it to be night and need it to be emotionally supported.Why?Let's look it this way.A thousand years ago when Celestia ruled she also had time to visit ponies and she taught them how you can be the best version of themselves(how to be perfect).And a thousand years ago there weren't ponies who compared themselves or who weren't happy because Celestia taughted them how to be HAPPY(and also helped the poor ponies.For example the Apple family got a place to have their own farm because of Celestia ).The ponies because of her advice did almost everything correctly and did so many important things in one day and they wanted to do more but they knew that they had to sleep through the night so that they would have energy but they were still mad about it and wanted the night to end quickly (of course they might of been some days when they were exhausted but happier with their achievements rather then be happy to go to sleep).There might have been some exceptions were Luna intervined but the ponies forgot who helped them so this is why Luna became Nightmare Moon.
Now going in to the present how would Celestia become Day Breaker. In the present Celestia had so much work on her hooves with preparing Twilight to rule and so many more that she didn't have time to speak to ponies anymore .Because times have changed and her not talking to ponies that affected most of them .They started to compare to each other and the ponies who were weaker were always sad(they need it emotional support). That is were Luna came to the rescue.She took Celestia's job of talking to ponies and encourage them differently.Instead of trying to make them the best version of themselves she told them that they were already the best version of themselves and made them stronger.She also told them her story and what she learned.The ponies were so thankful and wanted to hear more of her advice so they wanted the night to be longer. One time Celestia might of heard some ponies talking about how they fought how the day was useless and the night was awesome.Celestia started feeling exactly like Luna before we became Nightmare Moon.Nobody appreciated anymore all her hard work.She started to become jealous of her sister exactly how Luna did.

The FIENDship is Magic comic about Nightmare Moon seems to imply that Luna only achieved the ability to interact with ponies' dream immediately after she was banished to the moon. Once there she met some cuddly gremlin-looking creatures that had a magic cauldron that they used to preside over ponies' dreams. Nightmare Moon used her dark magic to corrupt it and give Celestia and every other pony nightmares in an act of revenge.

I think Luna may have been dream walking but hadn't told Celestia or Celestia didnt know. Despite dreamwalking Luna may had overlooked it and been jealous of her sister causing nightmare moon.

I’ve been thinking through this and this is my reason, if Luna did walk in dreams in the past the ponies would see how amazing the dream world is when Luna there they would start to love it so much that they started to sleep a lot more, celestia would notice this but would hold it in as she wanted it to be fair, but when ponies started to not notice celestia she gets jealous and would start to make the days longer and hotter, Luna gets mad and tells celestia if she makes the days longer the ponies will be tired and still won’t come out. Celestia finally looses it and turns into day breaker.....

I like the idea of Luna not being a “full princess” before she started to walk in dreams, like we know that before they got their flowy manes, they looked more like normal ponies. My theory is that, just like Twilight, Luna created new magic when she started to walk in dreams (like dream magic), which is what turned her into the shimmery flowy-maned Luna we all know and luv.

I think celestial possible didn't start when her sister was with her but when she was banished, if you really want to mess up the timeline in where she depends into day breaker it would be a timeline where she was unable to get her school up because of a selfish and cunning noble pony who manipulated the other ponies to think other wise but celestial still has the power as a princess to do so. Once that noble man out of pure spite and jealousy makes celestial out to be a bad person and seeing as how quickly the other ponies will start to turn on her since they don't have a personal connection with her, like typical people will start to treat her with disrespect because she doesn't live up to their expectations anymore and she looses face, becoming bitter and in predicted realizing how much her appearance to other ponies was held in more a high regard then to individual feelings or well being, and soon starts her descent into daybreaker

Mabey Luna could always walk in dreams but never knew what to do and there for became jealous until she realised she could help the ponies in their nightmares. Just a thought 😊

Dunno if someone mentioned this already, but there is this fanfiction timeline called Lunaverse. What happened there is Celestia succeded in fixing Luna's issues or at least alleavating them so she did not go Nighmare but constant pressure from having to protect ponies caused her to think that she was the only solution to ponykind's problems, so she decided to install herself as sole queen and try to create an opressive authoritarian regime in the name of safety.

Wait, what about what you said about star swirl creating alicorns? If that theory was true then wouldn’t it make more sense for Luna to watch over dreams before she turned into Nightmare Moon? I mean, Star Swirl wouldn’t put her in charge of this realm and not tell her about it. So, one of these two theories has to be wrong. Unless it was something else that triggered Luna’s transformation

My theory is that Nightmare moon taught Luna how to dream walk ... like shes a spirit who usually took care of dreams but took control of Luna's body when she snapped from jealousy but while stuck on the moon they were able to communicate and Luna learned from nightmare

I think it would be neat to see timeliness were Luna is head princess and Daybreaker is in the sun,with Luna having to rule without Celestia, one where both princesses turn evil and rule together, or one where Daybreaker wins and rules.

i think she “turned” into day breaker bc celestia got luna’s black splotch which i think is the remainder of luna’s dark side and her dark magic. and so when they switch cutie marks, celestia got luna’s powers and her dark magic. also when the princesses where giving twilight there magic in twilight’s kingdom, luna only gave her good magic, since her black splotch remanded.

would Daybreaker be imprisoned in the sun? and if so, wouldvnt that make ponies wonder more why there was suddenly a pony shaped mark on the sun, as there was the mare in the moon when nightmare moon?

Its actually kinda easy to know why celestia went mad, its just like what she said she's afraid this is what would happen if we continue to fight aka starlight glimmer is afraid . Its in the episode of when starlight was called for a friendship quest . The reasone why celestia became daybreaker is because luna & celestia kept on having a fight like luna but only once.

I don't think jealousy can be Daybreaker's trigger. Celestia is different from Luna. She has a different story, and a different character. As Starlight Glimmer's dream indicates, Daybreaker's trigger seems to be power (That of Glimmer is obviously a dream, but a dream created by a logical mind). Celestia is extremely powerful, but she always seems to restrain from using her power. She doesn't fight, she doesn't ever really rule (her "ruling" seems to be largely limited to public relations). She may consider to use her power like Gandalf and Galadriel considered to touch the one ring. She would have had the temptation to use it for good, and then she would have been lost, because the "needs of the many" would have always required for anyone to act as she wanted, willing or not, and so "to get rid of anypony who stands in your way".

I don't think one is better than the other. I think both are needed. One is a goal to strive for and a force to keep things in check. The other is one to pick you up when down and help you move forward. One to push you forward and the other stopping you from doing the wrong things.
It's why the diarchy works so well since each sister can just concentrate on the 1 thing they do well and leave the other things to their sister.

we don't see luna "learning" to dream walk, we don't see her being surprised of dream walking, and we see (in ep' 2) that celestia is not surprised to see luna, and is openly accepting of her. Celestia, while having taken over Luna's job of raising the moon, has never done dream walking before.

what does this mean?
1. Celestia had already patched things up with luna
2. Luna had already been doing dream walking for a while now

I think this video shows the motives of these evil transformations, and i dont know as much as you do about equestria, mlp etc. but i i have a theory about how daybreaker and nightmare moon are really connected? I think that daybreaker and nightmare moon aren’t separate ponys possessing celestia and luna, i think they are one formed thing, maybe some sort of evil magical that can possess ponies like how stygian and the darkness merged to one. Wait... what if... the darkness made a comeback? The darkness was a mysterious and shadowy entity that we know is capable of merging itself to other ponies and having somewhat control over them before getting defeated and sent back to the shadowy areas of equestria to ‘regain’ its power, meaning it could’ve regained it after all that time. So, what if ‘the darkness’ fully regained its powers and capabilities and gained somewhat control on celestia and luna turning them into daybreaker and nightmare moon? It could be possibly that the darkness merged itself with celestia and luna but then got banished once again after nightmare moon but came back for a comeback once again with celestia and then got banished again? Reply to me and tell me if im wrong, but this is my theory :)

Edit: Even Scootaloo's interaction seems small but in reality it is extremely hard to get over fears I know this all too well I'm bisexual so I was scared about coming out to my parents it took a good few years until I got brave and told them and like scootaloo and rainbow dash they supported me.

Before this episode I always theorized that in addition to the shame Celestia must have felt for having to imprison Luna, the threat of Daybreaker was also why Celestia ended up being kind of "useless" when shit hit the fan in the series. Celestia saw what happened to Luna (even though that was out of envy), and thought it could/would happen to her. Celestia also knew the lengths she had to go to stop Nightmare Moon, and that there likely wouldn't be anypony to stop her (Celestia) if she went down the same path. As a result Celestia became ashamed and afraid of her own power. Believing in the possibility she might become corrupted by it as well, Celestia began holding herself back to keep her own power in check thus deliberately weakening herself in the event somepony had to stop her. Kind of like her version of Luna creating the Tantabus as punishment for becoming Nightmare Moon. This resulted in us usually seeing Celestia unable to hold her own in the show since she had stunted her own capabilities for so long.

Luna being scared to become nightmare moon again and starts dream walking makes sense. She always wanted the apriciacion of others so she helps them in there dreams and comforts and in return gets loved by them what makes sure she doesn't turn into nightmare again....were do you get these explanations there like...damm...

Celestia may too have the feeling of ruling all equestria and she was able to raise both sun and moon for a thousand years so she is more.powerful than luna and may be unstoppable

In the episode when starlight glimmer switched the princess cutie, you can clearly see that this time both the moon and the dark shadow from princess Luna went to Celestia.
So, maybe the dark shadow had something to do with Celestia turning into Day breaker.

Personally, based on Daybreaker's dialogue, I think that the tipping point would be an over inflated ego. All of the ponies treat her like a god, so without Luna's banishment to humble her, it might start going to her head.

Don't forget that the comics, though they are not fully canon, seem to present the idea that the nightmare part is due to another being, not the pony herself. Equestrian demon possession perhaps? If so, why was the other creature attracted to Luna? Was it her negative emotions? Is the nightmare an emotion eater like the unreformed changelings were, or the sirens in EQG seem to be? And would Celestia be as vulnerable to her own negative emotions?

Dang. You covered Celestia’s struggle perfectly. I am an avid Tia fan, and the fandom loves to hate her simply because she did what she had to do. Imagine having a duty so important that you can’t have any real friends, or even get the chance to bond with your own family. Both sisters were hurt at the end of the story.

I know it's just a game, but since the show is over it might aswell be canon too. So there must be some otherwordly spirit or smth that fed of off Lunas negative emotions and won her over.

Here is my opinion so far

So I’ve been thinking for 2-3 weeks by now and I haven’t gotten a good clue? All I know is daybreaker is a figment in starlights nightmares. I don’t know if this could happen but here’s is what the future of the daybreaker timeline would look like

So basically the sun is 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit and since equestria has only one time zone basically everybody is gone

1. Because the sun would be so hot the polar ice would melt causing hotter temperatures and higher sea levels and since equestria is smaller than earth and there’s less ice I predict sea levels rise about to 27 meters wiping out any populations below sea level rise

2. 45 degrees Celsius and higher would not be a good temperature, obviously the first thing that would happen is that crops out die out meaning food shortages, next heatwaves would spend too much energy on ponies, then as temperature rises a few lives would be lost due to overheating
And then stuff starts burning causing temperature to rise meaning more lives lost until nobody survives unless it you make a heat resistance potion to withstand heat

My best guess for the temperature would be 432 degrees Celsius or nearly the same temperature as VenUS

So idk if this could be true but reply to me if you do think it is

I think this would be alot better then the original plot and I did enjoy the redemption arc . Just because when we associate like darkness with the moon but we don't exactly associate with the sun and honestly even though she got the ability through Nightmare moon but she could of gotten it through Ailcorn Magic. And honestly I think I would make a better storyline. Because Luna has that personal relationship with the subjects versus Celestia who has to be like the royal family that a queen has that barrier on how they want tohave that personal relationship with some subjects. And honestly with dream walking Luna has that better relationship with the ponies. She doesn't appear like a god. Like untouchable pony. While in the dreams we see Luna be vulnerable and show emotion unlike Celestia. And Celestia showing cracks in the crown and be more reliable than being this figure that sends Twilight after every problem.

Twilight knew about Nightmare Moon's return from a book she was reading. Then she and Spike the Dragon or her #1 Assistant. Moved to Ponyville to oversee the Summer Sun Celebration being prepped for. Twilight open her heart friendship and well. Twilight and her friends defeated Nightmare Moon restoring Princess Luna. Daybreaker would have existed instead. Where Eeverypony would praised her moon and the night. Making Celestia jealous over her younger sister. And would not raise the sun and transforming into as Daybreaker. Forcing Luna to the Elements of Harmony on her older sister instead. Banishing her to the sun for a 1000 years. Which means taking on Twilight as her student instead as well. But then end up in the human world. Later on choosing Sunset Shimmer as her Faithful Student. Following the original plotline with Sunset as the main heroine instead too. Luna would ended up ruling Equestria by herself. Until the 1000 year banishment was over with. Sunstet leading her five friends becoming the new wielders of the Elements of Harmony instead.
And rest would be history. Twilight stealing the crown instead.
And well event leading up to the first Equestria Girls movie. Twilight becoming Midnight Sparkle instead of human Twilight. Sunset later would end up as the new ruler of Equestria as well. With Garble as her #1 Assistant and then Royal Advisor to Sunset and Friendship Ambassador instead of Spike. Of course Spike would have taken Garbles place as a antagonist character well less mean of course. Inside kind and caring outside tough guy act. Well now that gotten me thinking. Well if you look at episode when Starlight switch princesses cutie marks. There was a little similiar problem. Both of them didn't understand her Sister's work and was sad that they didn't see what they're doing for each other. What if in the past Luna was walking in the Dream land but if you look at the legend of Nightmare moon. She was sad that ponies love Celesta that much but never did Luna even she was helping. And maybe Celesta didn't pay attention to Luna at the same time. And in the first episode She was little likes a filly like a child. And in the past Princesses used to talk in Royal voice but now. It was one thousand years ago. The same goes for people se don't act the same like one thousand years ago. (I am sorry if that doesen't make sence.)

Because nightmare moon is the reason Twilight wanted to go to ponyville in the first place (So she could research how to stop her.) what would happen if Luna didn't ever transform? Twilight wouldn't have left to ponyville, she wouldn't have made friends and Luna herself wouldn't have learned from that experience. And since all the other villains would still appear, if nightmare moon haven't brought the mane 6 together no pony would have stopped the other villains. (Unless of course, Day breaker would come to be and fill that role.) And Equestria would crumble.

So no one should intervene with what was supposed to happen.

Rewatching A Royal Problem and hearing Daybreaker's lines, such as her saying Celestia doesn't need Luna and, "Who needs balance when you can have it all?", this theory makes a lot of sense.

If ponies were nocturnal the WHOLE story would change.

Luna only corrupted because she felt unneeded because everyone slept through the nights be brought. As if nobody would care if day stayed and night never came.

Now if the ponies we nocturnal and slept through the day and lived in the night Celestia would feel just like Luna, as if the ponies didn't value day enough. Thus she would turn into daybreaker instead of Luna turning into nightmare moon.

The simple thing of horses being more active at different times would completely change the princesses fate and relationship.

Daybreaker seemed like such a wasted opportunity. I also disliked the dialogue they gave Daybreaker. It just came across as....annoying.

Daybreaker is my favorite Mlp villain aside from Nightmare Moon :)

Well I think daybreaker is a nightmare version of Celestia's dream and in the past there use to be a queen called day breaker she ruled the night and day and would always be nice to her kingdom but one day the sisters were born and the queen got jealous so she went to get revenge to stop them so she goes somewhere hidden and meets up with starlight and she asked her to find a thing to help her get revenge on the two sisters starlight would give it to her then day breaker would wait for the right time years later the two sisters were older and twilight and the others have made starlight friends with them so when starlight switches up the cutie marks starlight has a dream of seeing day breaker and princess luna fighting and day breaker was real but the others thought they were not the reason she did not attack the others is because she was in the dream and who knows if she will come back and attack again? .

So interesting. I always thought about this... even the idea that Daybreaker existed at some point (Luna knew her name instantly and Celetia mentioned that she would never exist again.) or caused fallout Equestria (everything looks torched).

To me... It sounds like if Luna didn't go evil... Celestia would have. The problem with this theory would be the show itself... and the present. Celestia doesn't seem jealous of Luna power now so you would have to prove she would get jealous of it back then. You would also have to assume that Luna couldn't dream walk back then as well. There are clues that Celestia is a different person now than she was in the past (More regal and headstrong than now) but it's mostly vague (or non cannon).

I believe that the legend shortened the story a bit and made it seem like Luna was only jealous of the pony's and that was it. I think Celestia attitude played a decent role in her transformation to Nightmare Moon as well. Celestia was probably much more frigid and cold back then than she is now. The transformation probably didn't happen instantly either. Things kept adding up till the point that Luna couldn't take it anymore. Personally, I think Celestia vs Luna was more of a Grey vs Grey thing than a White vs Black thing. After all... it takes two to tangle.

I cant agree with this theory, celestia just isnt like that, her mentality is the one of a true leader and caring mother, its like trying to make Obi wan kenobi a villain, some people were just ment to be good.

I think when the ponies of Equestria did not tell Celestia their problems, but they told Luna, Celestia gets jealous of Luna, then gets so mad that she uses the same dark power that Luna used to become Nightmare Moon, to become Daybreaker(aka:- Might Nare Noon).

What if the current ruler Twilight Sparkle became the actual Midnight Sparkle? Let’s hope that never happens.

I'm not sure about this but here we go :

We all know how Luna's cutie mark looks like , a moon with a black splotch. But in the beginning when the MLP show started , Luna didn't have the black splotch only the moon as her cutie mark ( in a MLP book and some pictures of her ) . It was before Luna could transform into Nightmare Moon , after she could turn into the nightmare , she has the black splotch. I think that's sort of another cutie mark she has gotten , maybe Nightmare moon's cutie mark or just the dark magic that allows her to transform into Nightmare Moon. In the S4 finale episode Luna , Celestia and Cadence gave their magic to Twilight. We could see Luna's black splotch is still there after she gave away HER magic, not the "dark magic" . In the "A Royale Problem " episode , Starlight switched Celestia and Luna's cutie mark , which Celestia has the black splotch.. So the nightmare is in her , allows Celestia to turn into Daybreaker in Starlight's dream .

i wouldn't call it "the nightmare" anymore just an evil spirit or something.

Starswirl didn’t know about the magic of friendship, so he probably didn’t know Luna could be comforting. He might have known Nightmare Moon and Luna’s dark transformation could happen, so he gave them both realms of their own to se them equal. But he couldn’t find a use for Luna’s realm so he gave it no purpose and Luna soon forgot about it. She didn’t know she had a realm and started to get jealous of Luna because Luna had a realm and she “didn’t”.

I have a theory, which could go with your video you made a year ago about Starswirl. Flurry heart linking with the whole Star Swirl creating Alicorn thing. Flurry Heart is similar to the Friendship Fire. The Friendship Fire is in the shape of a heart. Flurry Heart. Flurry means a small swirling mass of something. The Friendship Fire is a swirling mass of fire. So Flurry Heart could be linked to the Friendship Fire so thats why Star Swirl didnt cause Flurry Heart to be an alicorn, maybe the Friendship Fire did. Also, shaped like a heart, hearts are love, the princess of love is Cadence, Flurry Hearts mother. I think you can take this information to the next level and explore even deeper.

Yeah but let’s look at how nightmare moons transformation.
Luna transformed into nightmare moon. Luna must had turned into her because, you know how Luna thought celestia got adored all the time, Luna could not get adored in the dream world because her job is to stop nightmares so their is no time to be adored( I know that I am using the word adored quite a lot ).

This is amazing! I always tought that Celestia can turn into her evil self too, and when I saw Royal Problem,my theory got confirmed. Altho I didn't think it trough like you. I wrote a fanfiction (before I saw that episode) when in the acient ages day-ponies and night-ponies lived together. But the sisters are young, Celestia aka Daybreaker feels supreme because of being the older sister. Right after they take over the throne, she sends away Luna to check on the Crystal Empire. Why she's away Celestia can turn into Daybreaker and try to turn everypony a daypony and bannish to the edge of Equestria who didn't listen. Celestia doesn't quite remember the things she did as Daybreaker, but Luna arrives to a country filled with day-ponies. This causes the problems. But after the thousand years when Luna returns, a night-pony starts a revolution. Celestia turns into Daybreaker and fights back. Luna won't fight so the night-ponies use a magic gem to seperate Luna from Nightmare Moon. Twilight uses the same gem to separate Celestia from Daybreaker so she can get her princess back. But all her friends take part in the war and they talk about terrible things, Twilight decides to go to war too. So while two nations are in a war with an evil leader so Luna and Celestia are alone to find a way to make peace. This is the moment when King Sombra decides to strike (I was right about that he didn't die!) and since the Crystal Empire has no backup, but they're afraid of the war nerby, Sombra easely takes over and goes to war too, againd the day-ponies. So Cadence and Shining Armour join to Luna and Celestia and the four of them try to create peace among all three nations. The Chrystal ponies would want to join to the day, but Sombra marries to Nightmare Moon, so they unite the kingdoms.

I feel Celestia would cause a blood moon instead of a solar eclipse like luna

Of course even Celestia and Luna were alicorn and had enough magic in them but they will learn new things from the generation. But Luna thought that happiness in ponies is the makes us happy and turned into Nightmare moon 🌙. After being defeated by the TS,RD,PP,AJ,FS,RARE she learned that even the ponies were sleeping in night but enjoyed in there dream world.

I think luna started going in dreams when her hair flow like celestia

I’ve always thought the Nightmare Moon thing came from the blotch under her cutie mark. When Luna gave her magic to Twilight, her blotch remained but her cutie mark was gone, when Starlight switcher Luna’s and Celestia’s cutie marks, the blotch was transferred to Celestia. And when Daybreaker appeared, she had a flame like blotch under the cutie mark. That blotch seems to be an imprint of a curse that affects the creature’s personality, very minor and unnoticeable at first but is can take affect later, in bad situations that cause major negative reactions. This is a theory I’ve had ever since I saw Daybreaker with that weird orange mark (since when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, her cutie mark never changed)

tbh, I wish mlp: fim ended with the mane 6 defeating daybreaker. it would've been way more interesting than them just..shooting a giant rainbow at the villains, don't get me wrong, I loved the ending of the end. I just think it would be a good idea to finish off mlp the same way they started it.

I don’t think celestia is day breaker because in a episode twilight got angry at pinky and got a fire flowing mane and had the look of daybreaker just with no armor,

Idk if anyone noticed but day breaker has a sort of firey thing around her cutie mark similar to Luna’s black splodge on her flank

what about daydreams? 🤔 hmmmm that’s interesting Wall Luna, who I say can just dwell on night dreams, why can't celestia interact in daydreams 🤔 is Isn't that interesting 🤔?
