Hey Brony Notion, I just had a theory...why exactly did Princess Celestia choose Twilight to ge a princess? Yes, she had a lot of accomplishments, but she also had a lot of flaws. This is the same for all of the other characters in the Mane Six. I think it may be because Twilight is Celestia's most faithful student, and that's where my theory comes into play. I think Celestia was afraid of losing Twilight. And what I mean is normal ponies and other animals aren't immortal, so they can't live forever even if they wanted to. However, princesses are immortal, and giving Twilight the role as a princess not only showed Celestia's adoration for her, but also that she wants to be with her forever. Let me know what you think.
Celestia didn’t choose Twilight to become an Alicorn, Twilight earned the power after completing Star Swirl’s spell. If Twilight failed, then she wouldn’t have turned into an Alicorn and Celestia would have waited for another opportunity for Twilight to earn her wings. The only thing Celestia “chose” was HOW Twilight would be tested.
Please do flight to the finish. I feel as though the moral was never clearly stated; whenever you get a chance, I think it would be a good episode to analyze!
2 words: Jurassic Park. Why? it fits in with this episode. Don't try and contral nature it will back fire and something tragic happens, It happened in this. They tried to contral nature it back fired and flutter bat was born. so yeah.
I'm not sure the backfiring spell was meant to warn against GMOs; after all, the bats themselves were ignoring the plants as expected. No, the spell was meant to force AJ to consider the bats' point of view. Now that the culprit is one of her friends, who can't help herself... well, the bats couldn't help themselves either, could they?
The moral of this story is Fluttershy is right. Even though Applejack has evidence of the bat's destruction. Even though they DID destroy massive amounts of crops. Even though Fluttershy had ZERO evidence of the supposed good the bats would provide nor provided any. Even though any possible benefits would take far too long to happen. Even though she says the bats are all warm and fuzzy, but the only time they are is during her portions of the song. Every other time they're non-sapient animals. And Twilight is a friggin' IDIOT who can't seem to figure out her mind-alteration spells are massively stupid and don't work.
And Applejack was wrong. Despite the famine that happened. Despite Granny Smith telling her about the bats. Despite her being an apple farmer and knowing about these pests. Despite Fluttershy again being completely wrong about them.
Great video, and I would recommend either Keep Calm and Flutter On (one of my favorite episodes because of Fluttercord ship fodder) or maybe Magic Duel, since that episode had a message about the importance of teamwork to pull off what appears to be impossible.
Please Brony Notion, do a Dear Princess Celestia episode on Gilda the Brush Off. It's one of the only episodes that acknowledges the importance of recognizing a true friend from a fake one, and would be really unique to analyze. It sort of bugs me that MLP seems to stress keeping every friend you make, but some friends can be really toxic.
This is my 4th comment on this video but when I see your theists and background knowledge it gets me thinking so I've just got to say your doing a good job on these videos
I find it funny that Granny never 'finished' the story of the VFB, given that one more line would have been VERY helpful. The last scene, Granny comes back and looks surprised at the VFB's appearance. AJ explains what happened and Granny tells AJ off for trying to be a mass murderer (you know fans would think it regardless!!). She would then tell AJ that the very next season, more trees grew and produced MORE fruit, better quality fruit, and larger fruit at that. (The one HUMONGOUS apple doesn't count because that's 'Apple Family' magic... thing...)
I always loved Bats! Mostly the song I guess, but we do need more episodes about Applejack and Fluttershy, your favorite and mine favorite.(Though Fluttershy is my second favorite.)
I'd like you to do "Just for Sidekicks", I know I keep asking, sorry, but I wonder what is there to that episode? I have a lot of respect for the writers of MLP so even though I'm not fond of that episode, I still want to know what it did right.
Bats is my least liked episode of mlp because the moral unfairly falls on Apple Jack when she really didn't do anything wrong, in fact she was just as much a victim of peer pressure as Fluttershy. It was Twilight who owed the apology at the end, not AJ.
I don't think it's gmo related but the sub moral of "don't fuck with nature" i could see much like in the parasprite episode they tried a fast solution rather than a good one and things went to hell. 0nly this time Fluttershy got caught int he crossfire but,there may be an even deeper meaning symbolized by that tiny fang at the end. You can fix what you did wrong but you can't undo it completely.
I want to add that the others were FORCING fluttershy to disobey her cutie mark (which is being kind to animals and being able to comunacate with animals) and make them leave ponyville when they can give bats half the orchard and make a nicer healthier orchard
Heck no! lol it is not right to change the eating habits of the vampire fruit bats, cause what would they eat otherwise if they wont eat apples anymore?!? I have never seen any other fruits besides apples in ponyville XD
Remember the Parasprites episode? Twilight also cast a spell on the Parasprites so they would stop eating all the food; they just resorted to eating houses instead XD. Even animals are genetically modified though, so it's really more of a taboo.
I personally like to think the ponies represent humans, the bats represent nature. Humans see nature as a obstacle in completing something, so they change nature to go there way only ending up with even bigger problems.
I think they should have talked to Granny Smith first. After all, she had seen one before and thus actually knows what's going on... None of them asks her opinion? AJ has had nightmares about bats -- FS just wants to protect them like any other animals... so both are biased. Asking Granny would give a more realistic view...
Hi @The Brony Notion I think you should analyse Suited for Success because the moral can be applied to real life with not putting yourself under too much pressure and letting others boss you about (something I let happen a lot without even realising it XD)
There's a couple I'd like to request that you do next. It's not too many, don't worry. ^^; Anyways, I was wondering if you would maybe do The Best Night Ever, Hurricane Fluttershy, Three's A Crowd, or Inspiration Manifestation? I think it'd be interesting to see your takes on any of those episodes.
Um, it was mostly Applejack's fault. The second least at fault is Twilight, because she just wanted to be a supportive friend. Applejack was the first to presure her.
What about Luna eclipse since everypony in that episode didn't understand how princess Luna feels and would give a second chance in the first place where she arrived. Although the elements of harmony has changed her, the citizens of ponyville are still afraid by looking at Luna by her different appearance since there are similarities between nightmare moon and Luna herself and they shouldn't be afraid by her looks and should forget about the past and not to judge by the looks.
Maybe you should do the episode equestrian games,I mean if you ask me that episode had a lot of flaws but that was only because of the way the writer wrote it,if it were someone else who wrote it,the episode would have most likely made more sense same thing goes with the episode bats
Another Moral: Listen to your friends. Yes the bats were stubborn but Fluttershy knew a lot about bats and all the things she said about the bats, Like the Pollination and the families, were true. Applejack knows that Fluttershy knows a lot about Animals and should've done a better job listening to her friend instead of shoving her aside and saying that what little she knew about the bats was true instead of the stuff Fluttershy was saying.
If anybodys watched the video when they ask if theres elements of unharmony (chaos) then this would link to it because flutterbat is the oppesite of fluttershy so it she would probably represent one of those elements
I think you should do a "what if pinkie pie didn't have friends? " what does she end up like her sister Maud? It has shown in other episodes such as when it was her birthday she thought her friends didn't like her anymore. And then she went more crazy than normal.

Ok. Let's Look at this problem for another point of View... first the problem: the bat's are eating all the apple's in applejack's farm. So they should have Focus on geting rid of the bat's... they was not going to kill the bat's! But they chose another way, and fluttershy just bad to use the stare. Applejack's farm and business depended on it! And she didn't want to for some reason! Like it's just like if some animal started to eat HER crop's She had planted on her own, what would she do then asked them politely to please stop!?
Considering the fact that Fluttershy can talk to animals and represents the element of kindness, yes she would kindly ask if they could go somewhere else. And she would organize an alternative food source for them. And the vampire fruit bats need the apples for food, just like the ponies and for that they take what they can get. It may be that the ponies have claimed these trees for themselves but the bats don't understand that and their stomachs and survival instincts don't care. Applejack is not evil because she wants the apples to be on the plate of those she intended them for, but neither are the vampire fruit bats, just because they follow their instincts.
Don't be to hard on the other 5 of the main six....they each were effected in different ways....Applejack's is obvious she'd loose everything...her farm....what would happen to her family? She panicked.....and when she panicked she caused the others to panic since they probably need her farm for food...plus in previous episodes they also are a big export of Ponyville. Howmuch money would the town loose then as well? You have to think....the Apple Family might be rich...most likely are. But all their money goes back to their farm. Any farmer or shop keeper would know it takes money to make money. I bet after taking care of all the stuff they need to on the farm I bet they only have enough left for food... If their farm is the biggest export then the town would loose money....what would help fund the school or the Dr. Offices? So on...people do crazy things when they panicked or get scared.
Try worlwind fluttershy plus in the apple family reunion the make a bat rainbow did what I'm saying is did the paint the bats if they did what would get them to say and fly like they(maybe twilights spell)

What twilight said wasint true here is the real story of how fluttershy was flutterbat. Fluttershy was the dauter of some bat ponies so shes a hybird of a pony and a bat pony but she wasint a bat pony yet after she fell out of the sky and got her cutie mark she was invited to a party by pinkie pie and she might all the mane six ecpet twlight and rainbow dash and she told them that she was half bat pony and well it was night she coudint sleep and then in the episode bats (where she was a teen ) that was the first sign of her bat pony thing and after the thing when they where writting in the jornal she just got her fangs

She panicked.....and when she panicked she caused the others to panic since they probably need her farm for food...plus in previous episodes they also are a big export of Ponyville. Howmuch money would the town loose then as well? You have to think....the Apple Family might be rich...most likely are. But all their money goes back to their farm. Any farmer or shop keeper would know it takes money to make money. I bet after taking care of all the stuff they need to on the farm I bet they only have enough left for food... If their farm is the biggest export then the town would loose money....what would help fund the school or the Dr. Offices? So on...people do crazy things when they panicked or get scared.
