Security Through Obscurity & can Obscurity actually add a layer of Security?

Security Through Obscurity is a well discussed topic. Even some well regarded people have had disagreements when it comes to this. This is my take. If your only form of Security is Obscurity, then that is terrible. But it is possible to take your most secure situation, and create a level of obscurity to make it more secure. Say I have an ENCRYPTED laptop, with my password manager. If Its hidden in a secret compartment in my house. Obscurity just added another layer to my already secure system. Making it quantifiable.
