Angry Birds is a casual puzzle video game developed by Rovio Entertainment. Inspired primarily by a sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for iOS and Maemo devices in December 2009.[3][4] Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from the iOS App Store,[5] which has prompted the company to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, most notably those using the Android, Symbian, Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10 devices. The series has since expanded to include titles for dedicated video game consoles and for PCs. A sequel, titled Angry Birds 2, was released in July 2015.
In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed in or around various structures with the goal of destroying all the pigs on the playing field. As players advance through the game new types of birds become available, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player. Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has also released stand-alone holiday and promotional versions of the game.
Adventure Time is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of Finn , a human boy, and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake , a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Along the way, they interact with the other main characters of the show: Princess Bubblegum,THE ICE KING, and Marceline the Vampire Queen, The series, which is heavily inspired by the fantasy role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, Adventure Time has also been nominated for twelve Annie Awards, five Primetime Emmy Awards with one win, two Critics' Choice Television Awards, and a Sundance Film Festival Award, among others. In 2013, the series won a Motion Picture Sound Editors Award, an aforementioned Emmy, and a British Academy Children's Award. Its comic book spin-off won an Eisner Award and two Harvey Awards. In addition, the series has also produced various clothing and merchandise, video games, comic books, and DVD compilations. A video game based on the series was initially announced by Pendleton Ward on his Twitter account.[128] The game, titled Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!, was developed by WayForward Technologiesfor Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS and was released by D3 Publisher on November 20, 2012.[129][130] Various video games have been released on the iOS App Store, including: the game Legends of Ooo: The Big Hollow Princess,Fionna Fights based on the fifth season gender-swapped episode "Bad Little Boy", Jumping Finn Turbo, and Adventure Time: Rock Bandits.[131] In May 2013, it was announced that a new game will be releasing a new 3DS game called Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know! The game will follow Finn and Jake as they strive "to save the Candy Kingdom by exploring the mysterious Secret Royal Dungeon deep below the Land of Ooo."[132] It was released in November 2013
