The Future of The Children of the Night

What happened to the foals Luna abducted that moonlit night? Would she take them into her army, raise them to be pony soldiers? To return as Nightmare Moon to finally take over Equestria into eternal night. No, she wanted to help them to a better life, a life without difficulties and problems. They were no longer abandoned, orphaned, they were given a meaning in life. They were allowed to play freely in her secret garden all night long. She tenderly cared for them like a mother. In the evenings she liked to read stories, which they loved. We have so much to learn from friendship. Our world would be so much better if we all believed in helping and caring for each other, just like Luna did. Friendship is magic!

How do we create this?
-First, we choose a piece that we both like and can relate to.
-We try to play something together to see if we can get the right "feeling" of the piece.
-Then I record the harpsichord, rather loosely following the notes, changed to taste, it may take a few takes before it's completely ok. I'm not trained in this genre at all, so it's a bit hard to do for me.
-Some days I can't do it right, other can be perfect, so this may take some days.
-Next layers of the harpsichord is then recorded in the same way.
-Then intense listening to it by Octawa, she then improvises on the Cello and we record many times, before we are happy with the results. Same for her, some days are perfect, others not so.
-Now the "base" of the piece is done.
-Then Synthesizers are both live played and step sequenced to taste. This is also a long process of days.
-A lot of mixing and effect work is the next step.
-Mastering is usually done by a good friend, that knows his bits and bolts to get it done.

We then choose a pony theme to fit the piece, and looks for artists and art.
Hopefully we can write a short "story" about the ponys we have in mind.

None of us are particularly interested in following technical developments, we have very old computers with Cubase under Windows Server 2003. Works perfectly for what we want to do. But is not up to date, so to speak. But replacing all audio hardware and software just to get a newer DAW environment feels unnecessary. It's the results, not the tools, that count, right?

And mmm, yes I think in short form this is the way we do it.
