OKAY so I forgot to say how I love how the film takes inspiration from singin' in the rain (the colourful extravagant set and broadway show style sequence and routine, and also how mia and seb tease each other in "lovely night" is so similar to cathy and don's teasing in the car when they first meet) and also possibly from west side story (in "someone in the crowd" when the crowd is still and she's walking through, and how the flutes enter in little slow bursts and then the music speeds up to a crescendo, also the use of the lights dimming in solos.)
