Lion's Pride is the first track on my upcoming "Facets" EP. Inspired by the story and music of Steven Universe, I decided to get a handful of my producer friends and collaborate a small album that has remixes of existing #SU tracks as well as complete originals about the characters and themes. "Lion's Pride" is about my favorite character in the show... Onion. Oh, just kidding. Obviously it's about Lion.

This semi mysterious companion of Steven is a great reflection of the show. Sometimes he's cute, sometimes he's ferocious, and he slowly reveals important parts about himself that are vital in the story. His unspoken nature and cryptic parallels to Steven's mother are great storytelling devices to create a great character.

This song is also released as a birthday gift to my dear friend and talented producer Cherax Destructor. As the producer to this track, the original instrumental really inspired me and made writing about Lion incredibly easy. He also lends his amazing vocals to bringing the chorus to life. I purposely left lyrics off the chorus so you could focus on listening to that section rather than reading... but if you want to know:

When Cherax and I combine powers, we do a little dance to Trip-Hop and then Gem Fusion into CHYMES. We hope you enjoy what we've created.
