1 Year Special ~ My Father

It's officially been one year since I started releasing music. My Fundraising Commercial was supposed to be my big 1 year piece, but this morning, as I was getting ready to visit my dad at the Cemetery... I remembered this song.

In 2009 my father was diagnosed with cancer... and late 2010 he had gotten very ill. I wrote this song because he was far overseas at the time and I wanted him home with the rest of his family. On fathers day 2011, I performed this song for him live and made sure he could read and understand the lyrics.

I lost him in August 2011. Thankfully it was peaceful and he was surrounded by loved ones.

He's the strength of my poetry and the reason I write.

Hug your dads/father figures today. As for me, I'll leave a cup of coffee and an apple fritter on his tombstone.

Thanks to everyone who's been with me from the beginning, and those who have recently got on board. This year has been a great one so far, and you have all made it better than I possibly could have imagined.

TL:DR - Thank you for a great 365, and if you have a good dad, cherish him.
