around 2012-2013 twitch started this thing called twitchPlaysPokemon wich lets multiple people control ash (the guy in pokemon) via chat. But almost 100k people showed up and it became so big that it started having a really big community (twitchPlayPokemon is still available but now it's shit compared to before). And so in the game there this helix fossil (wich i forgot how you get it), and every 10 seconds people ended up in the inventory trying to use the fossil almost 500 times a day so thanks to internet being an amazing place people started saying rumors that the helix is our god and savior lol. You can watch videos of the old streams from the original TPP (twitchPlaysPokemon) than the fosil became an omanyte and even more story was created if you are really interested watch reuploaded streams of the first and second TPP
