This video is pretty nice for me. I thought I'd have to learn this by myself, but you gave me the chords, thanks! Also, it's reasuring. Like, I'm a self taught pianist. I'm proud of the progress I've made, but another pianist friend of mine knows a lot of chords and their names while I know only majors, minors, and a lotta sevens. All the diminished, augmented, flat 5's and 7's are just too much. But I ferl I understand the concept of these chords and how to use them. Seeing Dodie kinda just say, "screw chord names," and give the chords her own name was a wake up. Like who even cares whether I know what a D minor diminished flat 9 chord is? Idk, just ranting I guess.

I'm a relatively experienced guitarist I'd say, but I'm self-taught so I kinda just learn songs I like and pick up chords as I go. I don't really know any chord names, so this was a bit tricky to learn at first, but it's a quite easy song, and I really enjoy playing it. I have to move the capo up to the 6th fret because my voice isn't low enough, but yeah, I really love it. Thanks for the tutorial!

The chord symbol could be something like AmM7 or you could use the triangle thing they use in jazz like A-^7 or something like that. the chord you're looking for for that walkdown-type bit dodie would actually probably be a AmMaj7 chord I think ?? because it's still got an A (speaking in guitar here, I realize it's actually a D) as the lowest note, and still contains all three notes from an Am triad, just with the added G# from the walk !! the chord quality is still minor, but the interval between the A and the G# is a Major 7th

I mean no impoliteness at all, I ask as I am a singer and I have severe TMJD with a painful closed lock and I sometimes worry about it affecting my singing. I saw a guitalele at the music shop where I got my guitar. I picked it up and tried to play it, thinking my knowledge of ukulele and guitar chords would be helpful. It wasn't. I was still able to make nice sounds tho. Maybe one day I'll get me one. But for now, my eyes are set on the banjolele :p
