Steve looks familiar because he's Mattholomule's older brother. Dana Terrace confirmed that the two of them would have had a scene together if Season 3 hadn't been shortened.
Here's what really stands out to me about that kiss: The show keeps emphasizing how witches are stronger than humans, and Amity in particular has a death grip that lets her crush rocks with one hand. So it's amazing to see just how gentle she is with Luz now. Plus, the way everything is set up leading up to that scene, the show really puts in the work to earn that moment. And damn, it's just beautiful.
This got really intense and yet more interesting with the events that transpired in the remaining episodes of TOH. I’ve read that S3 will consist of three 44 minute episodes.
This may be my favorite season finale from a Disney show since Gravity Falls. I have no idea how they are gonna conclude the story with Season 3 only being 3 45 minute specials. But I have complete faith in Dana and her team to pull it off.
Wow, that was an amazing reaction! And those were amazing episodes! They were among the best of this show so far. I'm glad I was able to watch these blind with you. It was a fantastic experience. And what a rollercoaster ride it was! I was on the edge of my seat.
Watching these episodes really made me realize how much I've grown attached to the characters. There aren't many shows that have so many characters I like at the same time as in this one. From Eda, King, Hooty, Luz, Lilith, Amity, to for example the Hexside students, or Darius, Eberwolf, Raine and Hunter. The villains were amazing as well. Belos, Kikimora, Terra Snapdragon, many of them left an impression. Even if short, seeing the heads of the Witch Covens fight was an amazing sight.
When I was staring at the ending credits of King's Tide I was really emotional. So many moments from the characters throughout this series were flashing before my eyes. The characters have grown so much.
One example is King. He was a character I thought would mostly be there as cute comic relief. But man. was I surprised with how much his character grew throughout this show. In the beginning he was a grandiose and more self-centered kind of character, someone who wanted everyone to acknowledge him as a warrior or royalty, But now at the end of this second season, King has not only found out who he is, but he has also grown humble. He wants people to treat him just as King, and no longer feels comfortable with the idea of people worshipping him.
His sacrifice and final words to Luz were one of several moments that made me tear up during these episodes. King's role in this episode had me on the edge of my seat. His final words to Luz before sending her and her friends through the portal were really emotional. You could hear in his voice how much he cares for his friends, but you could also hear the fear and uncertainty in his voice, because from this point on he has no idea what's going to happen to him or everyone else. He can only hope his decision with the Collector will be a fate preferable to that of Belos.
The final showdown with Belos was intense, and I really liked the scene between Phillp and Luz. The VA's did such an amazing job during their scenes. I really liked the way Luz tricked Phillip with the sigil. That was some very clever thinking and writing.
I also liked when Gus used a spell on Belos (That brings out someone's most painful memories─Like in Labyrinth Runners) they were all related to his brother Caleb. It shows that despite Belos' usually outward calm appearance, he was emotionally deeply affected by what he saw as his brother "betraying him" by falling in love with a witch. If Gus really had a glimpse into Belos' memories than it could mean he now knows Hunter is a Grimwalker (Something Hunter desperately wanted to keep a secret)
The appearance of the collector was really well done IMO. His personality and theme has the perfect balance between upbeat and creepy. I found it scary how it was implied the Collector was about to do the same thing to the kids as he did to Belos. It's becoming clear very quickly why he had been locked up.
"We're going to have a blast, everyone!" ─ That's...not something you want to hear from someone like him.
Thank you so much for your wonderful reactions. I can never say this enough. Thank you! Your videos always make my day brighter and easier to get through. They're something I always find myself looking forward to. I really hope that one day I can join your Patreon. I've been trying to sort out my financial situation (I don't have much left after paying rent) and I hope I can switch to a better job later in the summer.
I'm going to miss this show and your wonderful reactions to it. But we still have Legend of Korra. (Which I'm following blind as well) I'm excited to watch the future episodes with you, and I'm curious if you're planning a new series in place of the Owl House.
Thank you again for everything! I hope you feel better soon.
Wow First time seeing the season two finale It's amazing that it emphasized how powerful the Collector is by showing with as little fanfare as it did how easily he moved the entire moon and stopped the ritual. He's terrifying, even more-so than other godlike entities I've seen in media because he doesn't really have morality other than 'don't break a promise'. He very much just wants to play like a little child, and being pretty much a god, that's horrifying.
Imagine everyone wants to include LGBT in like everything, Disney got a lesbian couble as the main characters how is loved from anyone because it doesn´t feel pushed or rushed in and the best idea Disney has is to shut it down with a 3 season with 3x44min episodes..............................

I wish season 3 was longer. This show deserved it.
0 likesFun fact: the animator who worked on the kiss scene is Australian, and this was his first time ever animating a character saying, "Crikey."

6 likesWhen I was watching the finale, the Collector kind of reminded me of Discord from MLP😂
2 likesThe reason King is linked to the Collector is because of the ritual that happened in "Edge of the World".
3 likesIn any case amazing reaction as always! This show is something else!

It's rumored that season 3 will premiere in March of 2023. So that's a 9 month hiatus.
