@Cash Is Great Yeah like I'm being honest with the show ending with the movie. But I'm glad it still is showing new episodes since new people can experience it every day.
@x2buller ok so i said "honestly" as a joke because you said it alot, but even though its sad, i think they should end it soon, the new episodes just aren't funny or entertaining at all like the old ones were
John TV //Random Videos Yeah but there still was like 2 or 3 good episodes in dark age and renaissance most of the episodes are not even funny or good anymore this is what happens when the creator/story writer runs out of ideas
In a sense it would be better if Spongebob ended when it was supposed to, but if it had than maybe I wouldn’t have picked up the show because I was born in 2003. Spongebob is still pretty relevant today and could have easily been forgotten had Nickelodeon not pushed to keep it running longer. I’ll bet you anything it’ll still be as relevant 10 years from now
Haris Sabotic2019-11-23 15:02:50 (edited 2019-11-23 15:03:24 )
@x2buller I've seen the new episodes and they're.... Dumb. Completely childish. I mean, yeah, they're for kids, but even now that I see episodes from season 1 I can connect, they're interesting. The new ones are just boring as a whole. There is nothing that keeps you to watch the episode, nothing to expect from it. Honestly, Everything is dumb now
@Haris Sabotic I mean I understand that but you have to keep in mind this show is for kids. So what might be considered dumb to you might be hilarious to a 5 year old. But I do respect your opinion however thankfully it's not as bad as say Breadwinners seriously screw that show. But hey either way I'm glad you voiced your opinion on the matter and I respect it
John TV //Random Videos was going to like until you said Season 9 was a “renaissance” I’m fine with your opinion, but the newest seasons are just completely autistic and seem more for 5 year olds and under. The animation is abysmal, just doing too damn much, Spongebob and Patrick have no emotions other than being completely retarded and happy, Mr Krabs only cares for money, Sandy used to be a major character who did karate and science, now she’s more of a scientist, Squidward’s...I dunno, he seems off. Never happy unless Spongebob and Patrick are getting fucked in some way. There’s just no humor and no enjoyment from watching it. Again, I’m fine if anyone likes it, more power to you, but that’s just what’s wrong with the newest episodes. I prefer 6-8 because the animation was far better.
@x2buller no no, I saw that I don't know what I meant 2 weeks ago but yeah I just hope they get the show better and I didn't expect you to keep reading replies lol.
@AustinAndGamerz Yeah I have a lot of free time lol so really I was checking how this comment was being handled. Sorry for my confusion! I just thought you were calling him an idiot for no reason. Really I don't like when people call each other names it's not a very nice thing to do.
this film reminds me of South Park bigger longer because the spongebob movie was supposed to be the finale and South Park was supposed to be the finale too. What a fucking coincidence
It kinda is tho,it has been confirmed that the spongebob movie was at the END of the timeline, and all the episodes/movies after that take place before the sponge bob movie
Hahahaha my Mom had a Suzuki 4x4 in May 2005 and i was 7year olds so i can watch Spongebob the Movie DVD in the Car screen CD/DVD player.Ahhhh, nice times.
The trends in media, the way they appealed to kids, cartoons that were made, movies that are even possible now wouldn't have been made then because of the risk of making superhero movies. There's so much that has changed. If you honestly think nothings changed, you're probably still a kid. Look at the celebrities of early 2000s, look at the movies that were coming out, look at how the march of the penguins documentary influenced a good couple years of penguin hysteria, look at how media treated gay people, black people, trans people.
Lets see, 00s was pop punk and metalcore, 2010's was dubstep and rap. 00's was ripped jeans and band merch, 2010s was hipster fedoras and douche-flutes (aka vapes). 00s was "fuck the establishment" and 2010's was "lets appeal to the establishment so we can make more money"...yeah....VERY similar...did you even grow up in the 00s? 😂
Joashy H this guy is crazy massive difference between the world we live in now and when I was a kid. Each decade is different. Wonder what the 2020’s will bring.
@Jredz7654 plus that logo appeared on the wild thorn berrys movie plus hey Arnold movie so yea. Who else is glad we finally got the hey arnold jungle movie 2 years ago? I am
Born in 97, i remember seeing this with my dad in theaters, the crowd when SpongeBob and Patrick were dying had the kids crying cause they thought it was really happening. Hell the movie ending had everyone singing the goofy goober song, it was unforgettable.
No Need To Fear Your Friendly Neighborhood Negro Is Here dude, were we in the same theater? I was also seven when my pops took me to see this shit. I was mad crying 😢
I was born in 95, I asked my mom to take me to see it but instead she gave me a bootleg copy of it lol. I put the disk in my ps2 and watched it over and over again. I didn't get to see it in theaters but I bet that was a groundbreaking experience
I was 10 months old when this movie came out. My cousins went to go see it, and they talk about it all the time. I would always watch the SpongeBob movie (and the show) all the time with them. As a result, I would record it every time it was on TV. Ironically, I never owned it as a DVD I would just always record it
The theater that I went to see this movie had some guy come out in a Spongebob costume along with there being cake celebrating the release of the Spongebob movie...not kidding...it was a small, one screen theater...
That's not all. I'm pretty sure every character which was ever played by Jim Carrey was in the movie. I have no idea, since I haven't watched the movie, but I believe it did.
I actually watched this movie as a child! I went with my dad, and i don’t necessarily remember the movie but i remember we shared a soda and I’ve always been picky about sharing straws, so my dad said “the tall straw is one mine and the lower straw is yours” what a sweet memory, thank you for posting this and reminding me☺️
@SFS VHS no they wouldnt, they would make less money actually. Advertising a product that's already out over a newly released one. It's self explanatory.
Some of my local theaters will have limited showings of older movies, which I honestly love, gave me the opportunity to see some iconic movies in theaters
Literally one of my fond childhood memories was seeing this movie in theaters when I was 5. I remember there was some sort of technical difficulty early on so we had to sit there while it was fixed but I didn't mind to much. I also remember wanting to sit up in the front row for such a special occasion.
Thank you is make me very happy and nostalagic, but also sad. After 2016 our goverment starting do very "weird and paranoia" policy in the name of "prevent violence and unhealty content" many cartoon show become victim of this policy. One by one either been remove completely or heavly censored. Spongbob also one of it victim
I have very vivid memories of going to see this movie when I was six years old. The theater was filled with kids who laughed at every joke and cheered at all the key moments. Everyone sang the theme song during the opening scene as well. To this day, it remains one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a movie theater. Thanks for posting this, man. This really takes me back.
Ahhh, this brings me back. I was five years old when my parents decided to take me and my sisters to see the movie. I couldn’t stop jumping with excitement when they bought the tickets and I loved the entire experience. :)
I was 5 when the movie came out and didn’t get to see it in theaters but my mom surprised me by renting it from blockbuster for me and I remember being so excited to watch it. Turns out however she got the caveman spongebob episode by mistake but she swore to me she got the movie. My dumbass kid self went 3 years hating the movie as I assumed they just rereleased the caveman episode and said “there’s your movie”
This and Broly second coming were my first two films ever watched. I owned the VHS tape for broly and the dvd for spongebob, me and my dad would always watch it. Strange how time flies, I went from a kid who sat down to watch two of his favorite films on repeat to a sophomore who deals with homework.
I remember in the movies, there was more teenagers than kids. It was like I snuck into an over 15's movie. Everyone, including myself, lost it at "a knuckle head mcspasatron?"
I had to rent it from blockbuster so you aint alone pal. I still don't own the movie for myself lmao. Only did once using my friends' iTunes account but that was years ago, when Windows 7 was the biggest thing
I first watched it with my mom at my grandparents' old house. I remember that we got it because I was begging my parents to buy it nonstop, when I saw it at the store.
As someone who actually watched this opening day, thank you. It really brings back memories. I’d seen so many exclusive previews and sneak peeks of the movie that by the time it came out, I was saying almost all the lines as the characters said them. Probably annoyed the hell out of the other movie goers 😂
I remember watching this movie in theaters with my mom and brother, and after we all had Burger King, which had toys from this film at the time. It was a pretty awesome day. Thanks for posting this vid, as it had awakened a lot of good memories!
I actually watched it at the dollar theater with my two brothers, and in an empty theater, we decided to sit in the front row. Not the smartest decision, but we were kids! This really takes me back.
I watched this movie in theatres when I was 9... I remember how excited I was buying the tickets with my mom. It was so packed that we sat on the stairs, but I was so happy. All I could think about afterwards was when the DVD was going to come out. Good times man
I actually saw this movie in theaters when I was 5. It was the first time I had been to a movie theater. When Mr. Krabs was about to announce employee of the year the screen changed to the home shopping jewelry channel for a solid 20 minutes. I was so confused. I don’t know what to do with this memory. Okay thanks bye.
Man the nostalgia. I remember I used to watch this movie all the time. When I used to go to the beach i would always watch this and lemony snicket on the way there. I wish I was still a little kid.
I remember seeing this in theaters (I was 11)...there was a group of teenagers in the middle row who were the loudest, laughing their asses off most of the time. It was one of those moments where I realized just how popular spongebob had become.
the nickelodeon movies logo for this, while undersea themed, should have returned as the official nick movies logo, with different variations for each franchise
I remember i was so hyped, for the first time to see one of my favorite cartoon characters on the big screen for the first time. Saw it with my dad (he slept half way through) i had a blast.
Got the dvd, watched this over 40 times.
Also was shocked when i heard Limedy Snicket. I haven't heard of that fcuking name in 19 years
I don’t know why that Series of Unfortunate Events trailer stuck in my head as a kid. Always wanted to watch it but never remembered what it was called.
Man, this is one of my favorite movies ever. I was born in 2004 so I never got to see it in theaters, but when I was younger, all I wanted was to see this movie on the big screen. I thought it was the best thing ever. ^∆^
Although I didn’t see the movie in theaters (it came out a few months after I was born), I’m glad I enjoyed the movie as a kid and still do. This is very nostalgic to me for some reason, especially that Nickelodeon intro.
@Someone Yeah, the ticket guy didn't even stop them, they pretty much took ALL the popcorn and most of the theater room seats. It goes to show that pirates are wild asf lol.
Jack Quinn2019-11-05 17:00:12 (edited 2019-11-05 17:00:27 )
I was 3 years old when this movie came out and it was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. Still consider it as a favorite of mine all these years later
Even though I didn’t see this in the theaters cause I was born in ‘04 my daycare showed it in ‘06 and I loved it when i first saw it, and I still love it
I remember every time I’d watch the DVD I would get creeped the hell out before the previews, when the Paramount logo turned silver at 60fps with those weird “woosh” sounds. Everytime.
I love this movie its my favorite of all time. So many memories. I always watched this in my grandmother's car when on road trips. I wish i could go back so bad bruh
I'm seeing so many comments saying they never got to experience this film in theaters. I was six and I remember my mom taking my sister and I to see it opening weekend and it was absolutely magical. I wish studios would make more 2D animated films for the big screen. Theres just something so wonderous about seeing a giant cartoon on a giant screen to me
When I saw this movie in theaters, I showed up late so I missed most of the part with the Pirates. I came just in time for when the animated part of the movie started though.
I was born in 1991. I haven’t seen this movie in a long time, but I remember seeing it in theaters with all my friends for my thirteenth birthday since it came out two days before my birthday. Great memories.
I was a year old when this movie came out, so I didn't see the movie in theaters, but I had this movie on DVD and remember it. Also I remember The Series of Unfortunate Events trailer XD
Watching the movie in a packed theater was really something else. If you remember Spongebob was insanely popular at the time, Burger King had some giant promotional balloons of Songebob stolen too. It was a great time to be a kid, my parents weren’t even hesitant to take us to see it in theaters.
I was born 2 years after this came out, so I never saw it in theaters, but I did see it on a re-run on Nick. However, I always imagined myself on premier night if I was born earlier, but a fictional one of sorts where Live-action celebrities from Nick's sitcoms and characters from Nicktoons attend the premiere along with the audience.
i feel it again...i watched the movie with my father in a cinema in mexico and the full movie was beauty,my dad and me have some things and common and this was one of that...years after him passed away and everytime a watch this i got sad and happy feels
I thank you for posting this seeing this takes me back to simpler times, throughout the whole video I got chills and I actually cried especially the theme song part and the part where Nick's logo was shown
Dude I watched this so many times on DVD growing up that I literally know the every commercial leading up to the beginning of the movie. This movie is great
This is the first movie I have memory of seeing in theater. I know I've been to the movies before this but this is the first one I actually remember. I was only 3 but I remember it well because I remember how excited I was hahahaha
I was very little, but I actually saw this movie in theaters. I barely remember it, but I've seen this movie enough times to where I can literally quote the entire movie. Never has there been another movie quite like this one.
I want to work in the animation industry and really wanted to meet Stephen Hillenburg...We're all gonna miss this legend. I watched this movie yesterday and teared up when the credits rolled. Have a happy thanksgiving everyone ;)
This Movie Is Literally One Of The Very First Memories I've Have I Remember The Scene With Bigger Boot When I Was In The Theatre And That's Probably My First Recollection Of Being In a Movie Theatre In General
I remember when my mom took me to watch this movie back in 2004 on opening week. So many other kids from everywhere (rich and poor, black white Asian and Hispanic, etc.) just crammed in to watch their yellow sponge hero, with popcorn and Cheetos. My family was insanely poor back then... yet my mom knew I had to go watch this movie. The next month, she got me a PS2 with GTA: San Andreas for Christmas. Things were so horrible back then, yet my mom did her absolute best to make sure I was happy. I'm happy to still have her around, and I am so thankful for her sacrifice.
My cousins told me every time I came over when I was little I would always watch this movie first before doing anything, like a ritual lmao. Ever since I heard that I made it official that this is my all-time favorite movie.
Man, I wished I was at the theater but I watched it at home. Still gives me good times though even for that movie trailer. At least it's not too late for me to watch another Spongebob movie in theaters bc there will be a new spongebob film coming up in 2020.
I did see this movie in theaters it was at a friends party I don’t remember any of the people there but I remember feeling a bunch of joy just seeing my fav cartoon in theaters
I was 15 when I saw it (a sophomore in high school) - I'd pretty much stopped watching new Nickelodeon stuff by then, but SpongeBob was a big late-childhood staple for me so I went and had a fun time.
Just imagine yourself going to see movie it's 2019 and you see that they have a surprise mystery movie playing soon so you and your friends go there and then out the blue this started playing then your brain explodes with nostalgia and you get ready to experience your favorite childhood movie all over again.
Where's the 6 ft 10 lady that sits in front of my 3 ft 7 self where I can't see anything so I sit in the fetal position, eat my 5$ skittle pack, and cry.
Not too shabby, though if you want some extra authenticity if you make another one of these kinds of videos:
~ Make the trailers/movie widescreen and shrink it a little, almost as if you're far from the screen a little.
~ Have some trailers that would've played in theaters, including theater-specific stuff like theater rules. I'm also not too sure if there were DVD release trailers for theaters at the time. Maybe you could do movies that were coming to theaters around that time?
~ See if you could have a film filter on it, since most theaters were still projecting 35mm back in 2004.
I know this is not meant to be a serious video, but this is only my advice. :)
I actually was fortunate enough to be able to see this in theaters while it was out, with my Mom and my Uncle who was and always has been a massive Spongebob fan. Good times.
For me, it would be "it's the year 2008, and your babysitter lends you the remote to the DVD player". Good times either way and very nostalgic nonetheless.
The Spongebob Movie came out days after my 7th birthday and my whole family took me to see it and it was such a great time :,) I'd do anything to go back
I’m a little upset, I was born in 2003, I was only 1 year old when this movie came to existence. At least my older brother saw it in theaters and told me exactly how and what it was like. Man....
The theater I saw it at was in what is now one of the most famous dead malls in America. One store operates inside of it still, and you can walk through the bizarre ghost of this beautiful expensive mall. It's such a strange feeling- beautiful modern architecture and trendy design, but ran-down and often vandalized with pangs of nostalgia for when it was the newest busiest mall. Much of my childhood was spent there- It actually featured an indoor amusement park and arcade owned by Namco!
when i was little my parents recorded this entire movie when it firsted aired on nick on tv along with the best day ever and the kung fu island episode, and seeing this just takes me back. thanks man
I still say “Jim Carrey, Jim Carrey, Jim Carrey” and “now that we’re family, I can be the *ultimate dad*!” And nobody seems to know what I’m talking about
this is the first movie my bf and i saw together when we started dating. 16 years later we’re still together and now have a kid that’s obsessed with spongebob ☺️
I love these kinds of videos where they have a specific title that send real nostalgia through your veins. If you make a "It's 2009, and you're watching your half-brother play Shin Megami Tensei 3:Nocturne" I will legit have a heart attack.
Whenever we'd go somewhere my brother would pop a dvd in the dvd player in the car, and the first promo would be that fucking movie. A series of unfortunate events.
the movie's vibe is literally bold and brash. it doesn't afraid to do the wildest thing that isn't forced in someway to make funny scenes and stretch our imagination far wide. it packs a journey with real life related problems like growing up and always treated like a junior to people around you in awesome and crazy ways. maybe i'm kinda biased because of nostalgia but it's true, i feel so lucky to have seen this while i was still a kid with no weights on my shoulder or whatsoever.
Speaking of the VHS filter, that’s probably not now many people remember it being. I can’t say for myself, seeing as I’m only 13 (aka born in 2006, 2 years after the movie was shown in theaters), but I can say that I don’t remember TV being as low-quality as it turns out to have been in 2011. We tend to remember these kinds of old things having the same quality as things do in modern times, for some reason.
I actually did watch this movie in 2004, and I remember who I was with! I was 6 years old, with my friend Ray and my Parents! I tell ya, Mr. Hillenberg gave me a lot as a child! RIP!
I saw this in theaters, and it was a huge mistake. I was 10 years old, and in that, "I'm too cool for cartoons" phase. My mom and older sister were there too, and we became so uncomfortable that we left the theater. Looking back I have to laugh on what an overreaction that was.
I had a dream where i was in a theater watching spongebob. And everything turned gory and crap. It was weird. I also remember having a remote. The screen showed disturbing imagery.
My dad didn't always know how to bond with me and my sister,so movies were kind of his way. He would take us to the theater at least twice a month. This,Shrek and Big Fish are some of my more fond memories.
I'm the type of kid who didn't get to see it in theatres so I watched this part on VHS. Over and over again at the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep.
i actually saw it in theaters. The storys so funny! My mom took me, my big bro, little sisters, and older sister to the movies a little too late (I actually mean a lot) we walked in and saw a naked starfish and sponge dead on a wooden desk. I’m like WTF HAPPENED TO SPONGEBOB!!
LOL I remember going to see A Series of Unfortunate Events and accidentally walking into the Spongebob theatre. I was like "this doesn't seem right" lol
Sitting on the couch in the living room of our old apartment watching this movie together on our giant fucking Electrohome tube TV, watching the DVD in our PS2.
Great vid I was like 5 , 6 when this movie first came out and lol someone needs to make a vid on what exactly is a 2000s kid because there’s a lot of confusion 🤦♂️
Just like the 90s there’s a difference from being a 00s kid and 00s baby
I’d rather watch this than the newer Spongebob show or movies because this was my early childhood. I just discovered this channel and I love the content. I was born in early 2001 but I remember having this on DVD and watching it over and over on my box TV.
YugoslavianPlatypus You must be fun to hang out with Although in order to Hang out with someone, you need friends. Only 2 people here don’t have that, me and the dude who GOES ONTO OTHER PEOPLES CHANNELS AND SEES WHAT THEIR UP TO and calls them vulgarities.
I didn't see it at the cinema. But oh man watching it that morning on nickelodeon when my parents weren't home and I was waiting for them. The memories
I was 8 when I saw this. My friend was having his 9th birthday and we all went to this movie and then Cicis pizza after. Or maybe it was Chuck E Cheese...I think it was just Cicis. I feel like an old person trying to recall something from their childhood now. 😂
Based on my research, and by that I mean a single google search, I found out the composer of the film soundtrack was Gregor F. Narholz, who for some reason made several albums based off of eerily disturbing music...
Bruhhh I remember it was the first movie I saw,in theaters at 4 years old.

So this came out in 2004?? Then watching this movie in theatres is legit the oldest memory I have that I can pinpoint Edit cancel that Polar Express came out earlier and I saw that
This just reminds me of how there was row seats instead of recliners at the theaters, where u had to be there just in time to catch yourself a good seat, the seats were jus left over hammydowns from the 90s
I remember watching The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie in theaters back in 2004. I was around six years old when the movie came out, it was my birthday at the time when I saw it in theaters.
I can’t relate. I saw this movie on VHS and I still own it. I have the game too. The only movies I saw in the theater as a kid were Scooby-Doo & The Country Bears.
SAME!! I saw this movie when I was like 2 and my family still had a vcr when I was born and I had the vhs of this movie. Also I had a lot of Blues Clues and Barney tapes... oh the times of being a young 2000's child... I'm 16 now
@Ryne McKinney I had Barney tapes back in the early - mid 2000s. I would always watch Barney's Great Adventure and the episode where Barney goes to the North Pole with Mrs. Clause! I'm 21 now and I miss the early 2000s!
@Jeffees That's sarcasm isn't it...either that or you're too young. VHS is pretty much the way to watch movies at home before DVD. And VCRS were the devices used to play them like DVD players. Instead of discs, they were rectangular cases with video tapes inside. And they would get ruined much more easily from wear and tear. It was literally tape like office tape 😂 So yeah, that's pretty much an explanation for you
Even tho I was born 3 years before the new decade I still find the old nick films and intros nostalgic(like intro before the movie)becouse it’s been like almost a decade since I seen the films on vhs
Think I watched a theatre bootleg when it came out, I was only 5 when it was released & then a few weeks after the cinema release my dad’s friend somehow had a dvd of it already😅
I don’t think i’ve ever seen it in theatres. Would’ve been 6 at the time, so maybe i have. I do remember seeing it on DVD as well as playing the GBA/GCN movie games.
Anyone else remember instead of the electronic sign of the movie’s name in front of the theaters door they had a mini poster version of the slot in that horizontal frame .
i remember when spongebob and Patrick are dying and their tear makes the sprinklers go off, in the theater actual sprinklers went off. there wasn't a fire btw it was just for that scene

When I saw this in theatre as a kid they accidentally played saw for a little bit instead (idk which saw it was though).......that guy who made the mistake was an asshole and I was scared for life, they did change it too the right movie though shortly after though dont worry. But for the most part this is mostly how it went.
Oh, by the way, this movie came out on November 14th of 2004, and November 14th of 2019 will be the Spongebob SquarePants movie's 15th anniversary! Feel old yet, guys and gals of this comment section?
what is it about those infinite summers we had as kids that we miss so much. It has to be the way that it all felt as happy and warm as the movie screens or the way we are in our dreams. It’s a lifetime ago, but watching it feels like it was yesterday. In that moment, we’re still there. In yesterday.
for me: our school didnt have a auditorium but our cafferteria could be turned into a little movie theater they also managed to get the audio playing through the intercoms system and man i had a blast watching it wish i could go back this for me happend back in 2010
Okay, but the thing that's off is that it's 4:3 even though it was widescreen in theaters and modified to be 4:3 on the DVD and VHS tapes of that movie.
when i first saw this as a child, i cried like a fucking baby when spongebob and patrick were put under that lamp i am now a grown ass adult. i still cry like a fucking baby when spongebob and patrick are put under that lamp

I thought it was gonna be a build up to the part where the pirates get to the movies and the thing on screen is just the credits playing "Ocean Man." I have been misled. Thus, thoroughly disappointed
I know I'm not the only one to have said this... But would it be truly special, something truly grand to have time traveling for stuff like this, See places and times you wanted to experience again or couldn't... I'll do ANYTHING to achieve this one life goal.
So is the person who runs this channel going to be the next Bill Watterson in which they create content based off of their past childhood that they now desire to revisit(I mean this in a good way)?
Wait...series of unfortunate events is the first trailer on the spongebob movie? It's that way on the DVD too, I watched it like a week ago and it had the trailer and I was like "wow this is old"
I used to think that anybody who said spongebob needed to just die as it was getting bad that they should die. I now realize how bad spongebob has gotten.
I’m only twelve but remember this like early 2010s and 2000s are times I remember. I used to watch spongebob all the time and remember that episode were he goes down and try’s to catch a bus that pissed me off anyways thanks for making me get flashbacks
Why was the crowd cheering at 3:06? I may have never thought about this back then, but is the Captain Patchy the Pirate? The eye patch and potty on his shoulder. Did patchy get himself a real crew and ship that loved spongebob as much as he did?
its 2019, and i have the Sea Stories Spongebob VHS and An VHS Player, And About to watch the first 2 episodes from 2002. edit: stayed up late enough that i watched the first 3 episodes
HAD to click on this. No shit the other day I was just thinking about when I was 11 and my parents took me to see this movie in theaters. Too weird youtube...
what is up my fellow 2000s kids anytime im here, even if i dont say anything, it makes me feel like im part of some huge, amazing, nice group who have a lot in common with me. how are yall doing?
What really sucks is my friend that I watched the movie in theaters in 2004 committed suicide. We were 9 seeing the movie then. Watched it for my birthday.

I thought the police fish at the end was a tongue in cheek joke about piracy or something with footage taken from an episode. Forgot it was actually part of the movie, lol.
Actually, the opening would not have DVD trailers from only Paramount, for a similar but more accurate, here is a fan recreation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwlqw-DX0kM
Yesss): rip to my aunt Gina. She passed away in 2015. She was only 51. She was 4REAL like a second mother. I miss her everyday. I saw 2 when I saw this with her. She was so beautiful.
The best way to feel old when you're not is to look at all the people in the comments born in 2006, 7, and 8. Not hating on any of you, but to me, it's pretty wild that you guys can talk.

I don't think anyone cheered for the paramount/nick logo. Heck no one cheered when they sang. Likely kids sang to the spongebob song before talking over everything for the rest of the movie.

I aint watch it at the movie theater. Still enjoyed it alot tho. Livestream some nostalgic movies bro. Although some might get taken down its worth a shot unless you get a strike on your channel.
@ToonE156 Every time I watched a show made by Paramount as a kid, I would always get scared at the end because of the extremely loud music mixed in with the "in your face" mountain and the uncanny Paramount text font.

I still miss Stephen Hillenberg he wanted this to be the finale. Which honestly if it ended right here honestly I would be very happy with it.

22 likes@Cash Is Great Yeah like I'm being honest with the show ending with the movie. But I'm glad it still is showing new episodes since new people can experience it every day.
64 likes@x2buller ok so i said "honestly" as a joke because you said it alot, but even though its sad, i think they should end it soon, the new episodes just aren't funny or entertaining at all like the old ones were

3 likes@Chivo ok
2 likesIn a sense it would be better if Spongebob ended when it was supposed to, but if it had than maybe I wouldn’t have picked up the show because I was born in 2003. Spongebob is still pretty relevant today and could have easily been forgotten had Nickelodeon not pushed to keep it running longer. I’ll bet you anything it’ll still be as relevant 10 years from now
1 like@Bryce Russell It would've fallen into obscurity just like other early 2000's Nick shows.
3 likesThe movie is the final part of the spongebob series, so the seasons now are happening before the spongebob movie
5 likesActually, this is the canonical end no matter what happens in the show
5 likesIt will always be the series finale in my mind.
4 likesCleveland Falling From his bathtub literally*
1 likeIt still supposedly takes place at the end of the series canonically.
8 likes@Deathpool_04 I've heard that.
0 likesActually, Hillenburg confirmed that the post-movie episodes are set before the events of the movie/finale
9 likes@Tizy Man Seriously? I didn't know that actually! Thank you for the information!

1 likeIt is the final for me. It doesnt matter how many movies and shows they make. Once they are finished with it the movie is the last story.
1 likeCleveland Falling From his bathtub and one we never talk about (6)
0 likes😔I can't imagine it ending it there though.
0 likes@x2buller I've seen the new episodes and they're.... Dumb. Completely childish. I mean, yeah, they're for kids, but even now that I see episodes from season 1 I can connect, they're interesting. The new ones are just boring as a whole. There is nothing that keeps you to watch the episode, nothing to expect from it. Honestly, Everything is dumb now
2 likes@Haris Sabotic I mean I understand that but you have to keep in mind this show is for kids. So what might be considered dumb to you might be hilarious to a 5 year old. But I do respect your opinion however thankfully it's not as bad as say Breadwinners seriously screw that show. But hey either way I'm glad you voiced your opinion on the matter and I respect it
1 likex2 Buller they said this is the ending of spongebob everything else is a prequel
1 likeThis is the true ending anyway. Everything released after this movie i consider it as a prequel, this is the finale to Spongebob
0 likesJohn TV //Random Videos was going to like until you said Season 9 was a “renaissance”
0 likesI’m fine with your opinion, but the newest seasons are just completely autistic and seem more for 5 year olds and under.

1 likeIt's really not...
2 likesThe trends in media, the way they appealed to kids, cartoons that were made, movies that are even possible now wouldn't have been made then because of the risk of making superhero movies.
5 likesDIGITALBEATBOX X not really dude

1 likeAs someone who actually watched this opening day, thank you. It really brings back memories. I’d seen so many exclusive previews and sneak peeks of the movie that by the time it came out, I was saying almost all the lines as the characters said them. Probably annoyed the hell out of the other movie goers 😂
1 likeJesus the nostalgia. I only remember watching this in theaters faintly.
2 likesI remember watching this movie in theaters with my mom and brother, and after we all had Burger King, which had toys from this film at the time. It was a pretty awesome day. Thanks for posting this vid, as it had awakened a lot of good memories!

1 likeI actually saw this movie in theaters when I was 5. It was the first time I had been to a movie theater. When Mr. Krabs was about to announce employee of the year the screen changed to the home shopping jewelry channel for a solid 20 minutes. I was so confused. I don’t know what to do with this memory. Okay thanks bye.

0 likesI was born 2 years after this came out, so I never saw it in theaters, but I did see it on a re-run on Nick. However, I always imagined myself on premier night if I was born earlier, but a fictional one of sorts where Live-action celebrities from Nick's sitcoms and characters from Nicktoons attend the premiere along with the audience.
1 likeThis will always be the only spongebob movie I acknowledge.

0 likesI had this movie on DVD when it first came out, good times
0 likesI actually did see this movie in theaters!
0 likesNot too shabby, though if you want some extra authenticity if you make another one of these kinds of videos:
~ Make the trailers/movie widescreen and shrink it a little, almost as if you're far from the screen a little.
~ Have some trailers that would've played in theaters, including theater-specific stuff like theater rules. I'm also not too sure if there were DVD release trailers for theaters at the time. Maybe you could do movies that were coming to theaters around that time?
~ See if you could have a film filter on it, since most theaters were still projecting 35mm back in 2004.
I know this is not meant to be a serious video, but this is only my advice. :)
This was the first movie I picked to see in theaters and I dragged my family along.

1 likeThe theater I saw it at was in what is now one of the most famous dead malls in America.

0 likesthe movie's vibe is literally bold and brash. it doesn't afraid to do the wildest thing that isn't forced in someway to make funny scenes and stretch our imagination far wide. it packs a journey with real life related problems like growing up and always treated like a junior to people around you in awesome and crazy ways. maybe i'm kinda biased because of nostalgia but it's true, i feel so lucky to have seen this while i was still a kid with no weights on my shoulder or whatsoever.
0 likesSo nostalgic that two tears came out at once in both eyes
0 likesYeh I only watched it on dvd and tv I dont think I was born when it first came to theaters the nostalgia of this is unmatched
0 likesWinter of 2004 was a great time for movies. SpongeBob, Incredibles, National Treasure, Polar Express, Lemony Snicket. I still remember it all.

1 likeThis movie is on VHS, and the opening is actually on VHS as seen on this video
0 likesI remember I saw at theaters but no memories besides the beggining and ending sadly, but watching this gives me nostagia
0 likesI was only 2 at the time so I obviously didn't see it in theatres, yet I still remember this vividly.

I actually did watch this movie in 2004, and I remember who I was with! I was 6 years old, with my friend Ray and my Parents! I tell ya, Mr. Hillenberg gave me a lot as a child! RIP!
0 likesI saw this in theaters, and it was a huge mistake. I was 10 years old, and in that, "I'm too cool for cartoons" phase. My mom and older sister were there too, and we became so uncomfortable that we left the theater. Looking back I have to laugh on what an overreaction that was.
0 likesoh my fucking god the second I heard that little tune at the start I was having flashbacks of the million times I have seen this movie.
2 likesThis is still my favorite movie of all time
0 likesI had a dream where i was in a theater watching spongebob. And everything turned gory and crap. It was weird. I also remember having a remote. The screen showed disturbing imagery.
0 likesI was baby when this came out and yet it's still my childhood
0 likesMy dad didn't always know how to bond with me and my sister,so movies were kind of his way. He would take us to the theater at least twice a month. This,Shrek and Big Fish are some of my more fond memories.
0 likesI used to and still am very obsessed with this movie
0 likesYou opened up a locked memory within me. Jesus christ the sudden nostalgia.

1 likeThis just reminds me of how there was row seats instead of recliners at the theaters, where u had to be there just in time to catch yourself a good seat, the seats were jus left over hammydowns from the 90s

SAME!! I saw this movie when I was like 2 and my family still had a vcr when I was born and I had the vhs of this movie. Also I had a lot of Blues Clues and Barney tapes... oh the times of being a young 2000's child... I'm 16 now
3 likes@hello world! Yes, I am!
0 likesI am a User I was born in 2003, too...
0 likes@Ryne McKinney I had Barney tapes back in the early - mid 2000s. I would always watch Barney's Great Adventure and the episode where Barney goes to the North Pole with Mrs. Clause! I'm 21 now and I miss the early 2000s!
1 like@Ryne McKinney what's a VCR and VHS? I'm so confused
0 likes@Jeffees That's sarcasm isn't it...either that or you're too young. VHS is pretty much the way to watch movies at home before DVD. And VCRS were the devices used to play them like DVD players. Instead of discs, they were rectangular cases with video tapes inside. And they would get ruined much more easily from wear and tear. It was literally tape like office tape 😂 So yeah, that's pretty much an explanation for you
0 likes@Ryne McKinney I'm too young, I'm a zoomer, and I was born with smart TVs, I'm sorry.
0 likes@Jeffees You're ok 😂
0 likes@Jeffees You haven't lived until you rewind the tape on a VCR and basically watch the movie in reverse.

1 likewhat is it about those infinite summers we had as kids that we miss so much. It has to be the way that it all felt as happy and warm as the movie screens or the way we are in our dreams. It’s a lifetime ago, but watching it feels like it was yesterday. In that moment, we’re still there. In yesterday.
