I was really excited until I saw the god-awful, childishly written wiki with the seven gazillion levels and all this garbage about how there are outposts and towns with millions of people. Reddit ruins everything. "Noclip" is such a cringy term now.

it's art, 3d art. but if it were real, i bet it would be a drain system for the giant tsunami sewer system in japan. yes, they have big dams underground, empty, ready to be filled with water in case mainland gets flooded. but if it was real, it would have some sort of protection around the hole.

Not like anyone’s forcing you to like the modern version which in my opinion makes the backrooms more interesting and expands upon the concept. I’m not into creepy pastas or scps or anything, and don’t know anything about those type of things, so I may be biased with saying this. But yeah, just ignore the new stuff I guess if you really want.
I like the levels, some of the pictures for them are unsettling like level 7 and some of the concepts are cool. A lot of the entities are uninspired though, really makes it feel like an SCP ripoff for kids
I mean, entities and levels have been an integral part of the backrooms since I first heard of it (A couple of years before Kane Pixels made his video)
So doing some research being Japanese myself, those two circles(where the backrooms supposedly are shown here) are right next to a broken down amusement park. It’s called Dreamland located in Nara prefecture and it seems like it got taken down cuz Disney didnt like or something?(not fully sure why it got abandoned/taken down) Kinda cool/crazy that the backrooms are supposedly next to a broken down theme park.
It wasn’t because of copyright stuff with Disney tho, Walt was partially involved with it before him and the original creator dude separated because of different ideas. But it was abandoned simply because it wasn’t as popular at it once been, and it only made it worse by the installment of Tokyo Disney. It’s pretty interesting tbh, I’d suggest you look up Defunctland’s Nara Dreamland to see the rise and fall, some neat stuff tbh

It was planned as an actual Disneyland but after the Development company and Walt Disney started arguing over licencing deals so it was opened as Dreamland and eventually closed due to competition with Universal and Tokoyo Disneyland
@Octall The abandoned amusement park that was named Nara Dreamland/Dreamland was heavily inspired by Disneyland California, and it opened in 1960. Before the true Disneyland in Tokyo opened. The park also had a sister named Yokohama Dreamland in Yokohama, another big city near Tokyo. Since Disneyland Tokyo had finally opened in the 80’s, Yokohama and Nara Dreamland were soon loosing the amount of people in the park since Nara wasn’t an official Disneyland. Yokohama closed in 2002, but Nara was still in business. Between 2004, Nara Dreamland were going on bankruptcy and a few stores were already closing and leaving. The park soon closed in 2006, leaving it abandoned for about 10 years. Many urban explorers visited the place to find the park was trashed, vandalized and overgrown plants, of course there was security around the place to avoid people from trespassing. After 10 years of its closure, the park was demolished between 2016 till 2017, with nothing left at all. I started researching this park back in 2018 and I was actually really mad that I only discovered this park after it’s demolition, because I wanted to explore that place so bad, thinking it would still be abandoned in later years. The day before Nara Dreamland closed, a video was recorded with the park’s mascot thanking everyone for supporting the park since it’s first opening, a few people showed up that day. I’m now convinced Kane Pixels just visits this place whenever he wants to film a new backrooms video. All jokes aside, if this is a real place that’s insane. I’ve found the location on google maps but haven’t been able to get inside yet. If this is real, I’m 100% going. It may not be the OG location but it’s still INSANELY cool.
As cool as that sounds, due to my paranoia there's no way I'm going to a place that even remotely resembles the backrooms without a firearm. I also highly doubt any airport is going to let me roll on in with a shotgun as part of my luggage.

I might not be able to use the reasoning of, "Defending myself from unidentified entities that may or may not exist in this particular location." It's a fun idea though.
Gun ain't gonna do you shit in the back rooms. You'll be to oscared to pull the trigger if you see an actual entity. You might think you won't be but true terror can paralyse you trust me. And if you do sink 30 rounds into something in there, there's a pretty significant chance that it will survive and kill you anyway.
Plus, in level 0, it's not really the entities that get you. At least not the ones walking around with 8 limbs or whatever. It's the fact that just being there chips away at your sanity. The only use a gun would do for you in the backrooms is an easy way to kill yourself.
So, I guess Google Maps will allow public users to put/upload images to specific places on the map for some reason, and so somebody must've cropped out this image and put it here. So sadly, it's most likely not real.
Actually google earth and google maps have a strict thing about people uploading fake images and will have images go through an acceptance process before being published. I have the link from google maps help center if you don't believe it
Also, the picture has been changed since this video was uploaded and will only allow you yo see a small room now. It's torn up a bit but had the same color scheme as this one.

I absolutely love the concept of the backrooms, I think they are better without the entities and such, just nothing but liminal spaces, I find it super lame that the entities have become super prevalent in them considering it seems like it overshadows what I think the point of the backrooms is, which is just being alone.
The way they are able to do this is that people can upload their own pictures of places to google maps. Theoretically you could do this to almost anywhere as long as there isn't many pictures of it.
whoever composited this photo did an incredibly good job. and whoever figured out to upload it to google maps and use it there, chef's kiss. very effective. hopefully people just let this be the one time this idea is used, and we don't get a thousand unoriginal tweenagers spamming google maps with backrooms bullshit.

I went to a hotel recently and it looked like a level out of the Backrooms. It was legitimately terrifying getting out of my room at night. The hum of the fluorescent lights, the old carpet, and the beige walls. It was really unsettling.

It’s a water reservoir on the Kurokamiyama (mountain). The backroom picture is probably made up and stuck onto that coordination (it has been deleted now, there’s still a mark but you cannot view the picture anymore.

So I'm pretty sure someone is trolling because anyone can put in their pictures in Google Street View, only requirement is they have to be 360°. And this person just sent Google their 360° render of the backrooms and Google didn't bother to check so they put it in.

It is most likely fake. Someone could have uploaded that photosphere and premade all the images in perhaps Blender or some other 3D modeling software. Google obviously took it down because the photosphere was fake or, as they would describe it, "misleading".

That hole was actually a square. Cause it was used for people to noclip İ N the B A C K R O O M S, but then i think somehow that square turned into a H O L E then the H O L E. Got inside it, i think for short its just a part where no one reached.

im guessing this is a google maps thing because all the videos ive seen is people dropping their person in locations and they go under the ground and i also found another one in the forest or a mountain and when they put the person in the animation that happens is just you going inside the mountain and you are just there

But it was abandoned simply because it wasn’t as popular at it once been, and it only made it worse by the installment of Tokyo Disney. It’s pretty interesting tbh, I’d suggest you look up Defunctland’s Nara Dreamland to see the rise and fall, some neat stuff tbh

4 likes@Octall The abandoned amusement park that was named Nara Dreamland/Dreamland was heavily inspired by Disneyland California, and it opened in 1960. Before the true Disneyland in Tokyo opened. The park also had a sister named Yokohama Dreamland in Yokohama, another big city near Tokyo. Since Disneyland Tokyo had finally opened in the 80’s, Yokohama and Nara Dreamland were soon loosing the amount of people in the park since Nara wasn’t an official Disneyland. Yokohama closed in 2002, but Nara was still in business. Between 2004, Nara Dreamland were going on bankruptcy and a few stores were already closing and leaving. The park soon closed in 2006, leaving it abandoned for about 10 years. Many urban explorers visited the place to find the park was trashed, vandalized and overgrown plants, of course there was security around the place to avoid people from trespassing. After 10 years of its closure, the park was demolished between 2016 till 2017, with nothing left at all. I started researching this park back in 2018 and I was actually really mad that I only discovered this park after it’s demolition, because I wanted to explore that place so bad, thinking it would still be abandoned in later years.
