Flying away is not very impressive, I mean it is just flapping your arms. The only difference with birds is that they fly when they flap their arms and you don't because your arms are not wings. So if a bird ever tries to reach out and pet you, you can just flap your arms and run away and they would be like, "WTF mate, I just wanted to pet you."
Birds are fickle like that.
