Building a ukulele!

Glad yours turned out better than my one! If it hadn't fallen apart perhaps I could've sold mine on eBay too :D

I'd paint the pattern of one of my favourite shirts on a uke. That way if I was playing in that shirt, the body would blend right in, and from a distance I'd look like a wizard

okay so I'm seriously considering getting a diy uke kit and I would make it massively nerdy and probably have a collage of SuperWhoLock things and fob and Harry Potter and YOU <3

I would paint it dark blue, and put little silver stars on it... Either that, or paint it white and write down my favorite quotes in sharpie

And here I am.. Back at the video that got me hooked to the sweet girl with green eyes and a beautiful voice that made my crashing world seem okay for 4-5 minutes at a time 😊😊😊

I have a cheap beginner's soprano ukulele, and as it is a light brown I painted black swirly patterns all over it, and later added green bits to it. I'm very happy with it and it certainly spruced it up a little! I'm investing in a more expensive serious business ukulele soon though and I imagine I won't paint that one as I don't want to ruin it :') By the way Dodie, I drew you and I'm debating whether or not to send you a picture of the drawing I did. Hello Dodie! I would be so happy if you could help me with this problem I've gotten myelf into:

So I just got a ukulele from GuitarCenter, and I am greatly disappointed.
There's something about it..it sounds too...deep..?? I don't know how to explain it, but it just doesn't sound like a ukulele should. It's one of those colored ones, not like the plain wooden ukes which i was hoping to have it sound like. I have tuned it dozens of times, and it still doesn't sound right. We even purchased some higher strings (which i think the man gave us the cheapest ones ://), and it just sounds stupid! I really don't know what's wrong, and it frustrates me when I try to play and it sounds nothing like the people on YouTube. Could you help me in some way? It was 40$, and it was partially our fault for buying it online where we couldn't try it out first, but the ones that were hanging in the  "guitar room" were all about 200 dollars! I once saw this video.. it was a man comparing a 1000 dollar uke and a 20 dollar one- and the uke with the lowest amount of money had the better everything. The 1000 dollar uke looks a lot like mine.. it's colored, not just simply wooden- and the strings looked like plastic (and so do the ones it has now). I am SO CONFUSED  and it would be amazing if you could tell me where you got yours, and how much it was? So sorry for making this super long, no one can really help and i thought you could maybe!
