Pfsense is a beast. I switched to Ubiquity and I honestly miss it. Pfsense is way more straight forward and it has a pretty good DNS filter that I also miss quite a bit. It can cripple itself sometimes so make sure to back up your settings whenever you can.
dont need vlans if you got enough phisical ports on your apliance i built my own FW from a itx celeron board. used on board nic for wan. and added 4x nics/1pcie x1 card and isolated all nics.
Lol snort was blocking google and league of legends cause they were "scanning" me . To be honest i could whitelisted it but was too lazy to find the specifics. Just switched it to report . My problem was when i upgraded my connection to 100 mbps i could only get 50 via pfsense. Never figured out
Yo can someone recommend a specific QUAD NIC card for PFSsense use? The 2 I copped off eBay behave not worked.. fake intel branded cards from the China I suspect. H311 at this point I'll even take a dual NIC card..

better build it. is cheeper. but you can buy something on amazon. search for pfsense. you wont find the Netgate apliances, but 3rd party ones.
