Here's my theory:

The king and queen had a child back some 1,000+ years ago and either knew what was going to happen and found a way to get their child somewhere safe before the Crystal Empire disappeared, or that child somehow escaped before it happened by accident.

After this, that child grew up and married a regular Unicorn or Pegasus, had a child, who then also grew up and had a child as well, etc. Then, when the fated time came, Cadence was born (as a legitimate descendent of that Royal line) and was destined to rule the Empire with a loving hand and restore balance. Thus, bringing the Crystal Empire back permanently, restoring the memories of it's inhabitants and continuing the royal line with a Pony who is both a legitimate princess in her own right as well as an actual descendent of their former rulers.

It would make sense that way, I think.

Okay... here’s my theory:

The reason why that one crystal ponle says “Behold, the crystal princess,” is because before King sombra took over the crystal empire there was a crystal princess and prince, but Sombra took over the ponies and none of them can remember the old princess. So they think that Cadence is the crystal princess. Of course, they wouldn’t recognize her because she did not live 1,000 years. The ponies mention how they’ve been trapped for a thousand years, and Cadence must not have lived that long. I think Cadence’s destiny was the crystal empire, but why did Celestia even adopt her as a niece in the first place?

Maybe when she saw that Cadence’s talent for her cutie mark was to spread love and magic, she saw her cutie mark and automatically knew she was destined to protect the crystal empire with her love. We don’t really know much about Cadence, and we don’t even know if that information on the book is true or not. But here’s another theory: Long ago when the crystal empire was in peace, King Sombra knew how powerful the magic there was, so he decided to rule over it. But, Celestia and Luna defeated him, but he cast that spell which made the empire disappear. But now let’s change things up a bit.


King Sombra is a unicorn, so he must have been a regular pony like any other. So let’s assume that Discord was also around that time, but hidden from Celestia and Luna. Discord has powerful magic, so let’s assume that he wanted to rule over equestria, but despite his magic, he couldn’t get caught by Celestia. So he somehow made an agreement with king sombra, before he was even king sombra. So, the old king sombra was filled with discord’s magic just like tirek was.

He then turned evil, and took advantage of it and turned into King Sombra. He went from a regular old unicorn to an evil one. This was all part of discord’s plan to rule equestria. So then Discord reveals himself, and rules parts of equestria. So that’s when Princess Celestia and Luna step in. King Sombra then took advantage of that to invade the crystal empire.

I know that was a bit irrelevant to the topic, but that’s just a theory of my own of how King Sombra came to be.

Well, Cadence's cutiemark represents spreading love, and the Crystal Heart in the Crystal Empire is her cutiemark. I don't know, MLP doesn't show much of backstories. But anyway, if Cadence was found as a pegasus, how did she spread love with magic?

I think I know how a connection might workout. Remember how when Shining Armor married Cadence, Twilight became her sister-in-law? Well, as you have said in a previous video, there is a chance that Celestia can see into the future, meaning that she would know that Cadence was going to become a relative of Twilight. If that is the case, then I can really see a connection.

You know I just realized something by what you said about Cadence and Twilight's cutie marks. You asked in a previous video why only ponies seem to get cutie marks, while other creatures don't. My theory is that ponies are the only creatures capable of wielding magic and converting it properly. Other creatures can use magic too, but they're usually only a one-trick pony (Pun!); the cockatrice could only turn things into stone, dragons only breathe fire, Tirek absorbs and expels magic but he can't really do much else with it, it just sort of comes out in it's raw form. 

Cutie marks on their own are a very unconscious form of magic. Before you think that that means only unicorns are the qualified candidates look at this video for evidence against that; Cadence seems to have been a pegasus before being a princess, so it likely means both pegusi and earth ponies have the capabilities for magic, but need to work harder to actually access the magic within them.

The magical aura is I think destiny. As it is seen when both ponies fulfilled their destiny

The element of harmony book 1 says that Cadance is a adopted niece or something, so the book, "Twilight and the Crystal Heart Spell", isn't the only piece of information that shows Cadance's backstory. Sure, it hardly says any info, but still has it.

The blob coming out of twilight was her alicorn magic causing her to turn into analicorn but it wasn't celestia who turned twilight into an alicorn it was twilight herself.So basically twilight had the magic inside of her to turn into an alicorn and Cadence well that magic around her cutie Mark was her spreading the real Crystal heart around the Crystal empire which is also her cutie Mark and her destiny and that blob is what she is meant to do and what her destiny is and also protecting her empire with the real heart to protect the Crystal ponies from king sombre which is also spreading love with shining armour to protect the Crystal ponies which is also Cadence's Chris Mark Love

Candence is the daughter of the king and queen of the crystal empire. she got her cutie mark when she spreads love. the crustal heart is a magical love jem kinda object. since her parents were the creators of the crystal heart, it would only to be reasonable for Cadence their daughter to have that as her cutie mark.
here is my theory:
cadence was a lost princess of the crystal empire and before king Sombra took over the land knew the princess after all every princess in equestria is to be known. so some of the people saved her hoping that one day she will come back for them.
my other theory is: 
cadence's parents were king sombra and queen chystalist. and they were good before an evil thing turn them evil. after all in mlp that where we hear king and queen. so she was their daughter and her parents saves her from the evil. then at the canterlot wedding i knowtest how queen chystalist never really hurt candence just put her in a dungeon and king sombra could have hurt cadence first but he didn't. he went straight   for the heart and didn't fight cadence for the heart as if he knew she was the only one that might put him out of his misery as for chystalist. 
why princess celestia and luna call her their family member. easy she is a princess as well and i think they know her story just as well as her parents(cadence's). they wanted her to be saft and one day she might see hte good dombra and chystalist as her good parents.

I like your theory, but i still think that twilight's and Cadence's marks fulfills the trinity u talked about in one of your other uploads. When both got their cutie marks it had a meaning already. spreading love and magic was what these ponies had as special talents and what made them special. It is what their personalities roughly surrounds ^-^

That blob thing that came out of twilite's chest and cadences cutie mark, I just realized looked strangely similar to the thing that Princess Luna had that was feeding off of her doubt. in that episode, the only way she could make it go away was by having confidence in herself that ponies would trust her after she was banished from the moon wich also goes along with her cutie mark, a moon. Wich has been her goal (or destiny) to get everyone to trust her more. Just a thought.

The same can be said about cadence. Just a different lock. The book, twilight and the crystal heart spell, describes cadences' nature of ascension. The crystal heart of her cutie mark was based more on the necklace of a hermit mare. The crystal that made up that necklace was special. It had magical properties that enhanced the wearers emotions. Good or bad. The crystal heart and empire are made of the same magical crystal. And cadence was actually a pegasus originally. She spread love by being loving towards others. The old hermit mare was fillied with contempt. That was amplified to hatred by her necklace. Cadence beat her with her love, which was so great, that direct contact was not necessary for it to be amplified by the necklace. Her nature of universal love and tolerance makes her the best ruler of the crystal empire, which broadcasts love and hope to all the rest of equestria when filled with it. Her destiny fulfilled when she took the crystal heart and brought out the full power and potential of the empire and its citizens.

Maybe it adds a new layer to the understanding they already have, like the Rainbow Power showing that virtue requires sacrifice. When Celestia finished talking to Twilight, the aura sent Twilight back to Ponyville, so she could understand that any power she gains in her element of harmony relates back to her friends, and only operates properly when she is with them. Similarly, when Cadence tells the crystal ponies to "use the light and love in YOUR hearts" [emphasis added by me], she is realizing that she should keep with the crystal ponies in times of fear, whereas she previously ran away, because it was the power THEY had that she inspired in them that could defeat Sombra. So the aura probably has something to do with learning to reciprocate the virtue that friends have taught you in the past.

Well I think that Cadence was Sombra's daughter who later ran away when she found out he was turning evil, then as you said she got lost in the forest near an earth pony village in need of help.
As for the aurora I think it is kind of like a magic conscious helping you fulfill your destiny. Soooooo... What do you think?🦄🦄🦄

according to my research: Princess Cadence was a member of the royal family before the war between the Zebra Empire and Equestria. This might even give us some info on zecora and how she got to aquestria.

answering your last question, cadence and twilight were not truly presented with their destinies until one certain part in their life where it truly mattered.
cadence was true to her destiny causing cutie mark glow, and twilight fulfilled destiny as she made a friendship spell(aka princess of FRIENDSHIP)

Cadence was probably born in the crystal empire and her parents ruled it but then there was the curse and her parents probably died becauses king sombra wanted to rule so he killed the parents not knowing they had a child who got away. Then celestial knew and that's why she adopted her as a niece and that's why she gave cadence the crystal empire, because she was supposed to be the ruler and that's why when the crystal ponies got there memories back they already knew who cadence was.

THE ACTUAL THEORY
Once upon a time, in the beutiful empire of crystals (crystal empire) a magestic cotton-candy pink alicorn with a glimmering magenta mane married a strong and loyal pure-white pegasus with a deeply coloured mane.there names were princess crystalis and prince sombra,and they had the job of spreading love everywere since they were the closest couple in all of equestria.
they lived happily untill one fateful day...
...
one day crystalis found an old family book about sombra's family traditon. it says "they never allow them to have children before 30 days after marrige,if they break this rule,they are demanded to be divorced,no matter how close they are
a week later crytsalis found out she was having a baby and remembered what the book said.
on that night crystalis left a note saying that she met another man and when sombra found it,he was furious.
6 months of living homless,crystalis delivered a healthy baby pegusus and named her cadence.
one night crystalis trotted into the forest of death,which is now known as the everfree forest,with her child cadence.
crash!
crystalis fell down and got kidnapped by a incect like creature and got swallowed up by the darkness.
crystalis woke up in a large green coccoon that was surrounded by changlings. crystalis stared at them and they stared back,with crystalis curiously scratched her head .
zap!
all the changlings surrounding her casted a magical spell on her,making her skin turn black as night and her mane as green as a emerald.crystalis became Queen chrysalis..
the rest is in the book,from cadence found in the forest to her adopted as celestia's royal neice.
the reason chrysalis invaded cadence and shining armour 's wedding is because she didn't want her daughter getting close with a stallion,and then get dumped by him all just because a stupid tradition.

Okay...I think I figured it out. I believe that the "Aura" that appears when their destiny is fulfilled is the sign that they have fulfilled their desteny. Like, it's a sign. That's the more obvious solution. I have another theory, but it may sound a bit crazy. I think that aura is some sort of spark that would transform you into an alicorn. Let me explain! You see, in the scene where Celestia "turns" Twilight into an alicorn, like in that exact moment, Twilight's "Aura" or as I like to call it Spark, was extracted from her and then turned her into an alicorn. I think every pony has this spark, it's just in their souls(that explains why the spark came out of Twilight's chest/neck.) So, anypony could turn into an alicorn, they just need to fulfill their desteny. Unfortunately.....very few ponies seem to not be able to do this, this the reason
Why their's so little alicorns. Another theory of mine that follows this is that in the VERY early ages of Equestria, Celistia's spark came out when she fulfilled her destiny (whatever it was) and turned her into an alicorn. Back then it never happens to anyone else before, so the people decided to let her rule over Equestria from then on. Luna became the second alicorn, and was chosen
To rule with her sister as well. However...how does this explain Cadence? Well, I think that Cadence turning into an alicorn by Celestia was actually not her destiny. It was only another step closer to it. Her real destiney was to rule over The Crystal Empire, hence the spark appearing on/around her cutie mark. However, the only reason why the spark didn't come out of her chest/neck is because she already was an alicorn, so it just decided to appear on/around her cutie mark instead. What do you guys think? Does this make sense?

The little thing that you were talking about in my theory is that their destiny became clear and they fulfilled their destiny, because in magical mystery cure the part of the spell is confusing, but if you break it into sections it makes sence, the mark of one's destiny (cutie mark) singled out alone (twilight's cutie mark) fulfilled (twilight fulfilled her cutie mark at the end)

Cadence's destiny is spreading love, and her cutie mark is a crystal HEART. The ponies of the crystal empire have to show how much they LOVE the princess and their home. When the crystal ponies power the crystal heart, it absorbs the love and spreads it across Equestria, just like Cadence's destiny!

Here is my theory on the aurora things, so When Twilight fufilled her destiny, her magic took the physical form of that aurora and was used to help transform Twighlight, And When Cadence fufilled her destitiny her Cutie marke glew because at that moment her magic was strongest, and the arora once agian was the physical form of her magic, but instead of helping to turn her into an alicorn, it helped her to restore the heart. But there is a second part to this theory, What if Twiglight's destiny wasnt compleatly fufilled? What if it is only half way compleated? WHAT IF Stay with me here, in order to fully restore her destiny, she must help Celestia and Luna Return to the Alicon Civilization?! HOW FREAKING COOL WOULD THAT BE?!?!

Something else you can use to give more info for your theories you can use the journals of the two sisters like the printed book, it's says a bit about the crystal empire and I think there's some connection with Luna and Fluttershy in this book it says that Luna understands a manticore, Fluttershy has a connection with all animals but we don't know much about Luna. Luna might have a connection with other animals to. I haven't finished the book yet so I don't know.. I don't know about my thoughts of Twilight being a princess... she seems to take to big of a part in the mane 6. I know that Twilight basically started it all, however, we still all describe them as the mane 6, not the "mane 1", as it to often seems like we should. Although they all play an equal part most of the time, Twilight gets most of the spotlight, which can sometimes make Twilight an unlikable character. The show often implies that its not good to be smart or organized, and this isn't always true. Most people get the idea that being smart makes you arrogant and cold, based off of the quote most used by villans, "Knowledge is power!" I don't think that Twilight is a bad princess, but she does get a lot of rude remarks from the fandom... well that's all for now. ps. I love @The Brony Notion

I actually think the strange place is the same place where Princess Celestia made Twilight Sparkle an alicorn.

Thing is, Cadence seem to age at the same speed as a normal pony, which makes it a lot less likely that Cadence is over 1000 years old and escaped from the empire.

Its twilights voice like in the little mermaid celestia is secretly Ursula in disguise.

I always wondered WHY cadence is the crystal princess. she (As previously stated by another youtuber) Ages like a normal pony, but the empire has been gone for 1000 years. makes me wonder, since she is the  crystal princess, she must have a connection with it as celestia does with the sun, or luna and the moon. (And twilight with magic) so, maybe when the empire was banished, she stoped "Ageing" Like the ponies within. none seem to have aged 1000 years, and, neither has cadence. oh, and the thing about her fighting an evil queen? I can see why Chrysalys chose Cadenza as her guise rather than celestia... looks like those two have a history. but wait, a pegasi using magical powers? time for brain hurt...

In a video it appears that when Cadence was a baby the Crystal Empire was attacked by King Sombra.Cadence's mother and Cadence scaped into the woods.When Cadance was found in the woods abandoned it was because her mother leaved her there and moments later a couple of ponies found Cadence she died.Years later Candence grew as a lovely pony and loved by al the town the Queen was jelouse because all the love that they have so she stoled it when Cadence confronts her and shows her what is love and defeats her ,Celestia transforms her into an alicorn and adopts her as her niece.Cadence was not comfortable with her life as a princess she dicide to work as a foolsister and take care of children.She meets Twilight,Marries Shining Armor and becames Princess of the Crystal Empire and well that is the theory that appears in the video which I believe is true and has way more scence and well I hope my answer helps you answer your dobts.If you want to know more you can ask me more.

both princesses realized and started down the path of their journey, however the reason twilights 'glowing ball of magic' came from her chest probably symbolizes the magic in her heart transforming her, that's why it was the color of twilights magic and not celestia's, celestia only pushed the magic to start the transformation. cadence's cutie mark probably glowed to represent that her destiny was to protect the crystal empire by bring love and emotions to fuel the 'crystal heart' it also shows why her cutie mark is blue like the crystal heart, however it could also be that her cutie mark had slightly changed to where the blue heart that was originally there became the crystal heart showing she belongs there.

I have read Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell and in the book the "Crystal Heart Spell" is what (according to Cadence) helped her fulfilll her destiny. Does that help?

My theory is that, hang on let me start again. Okay you know how when the crystal empire is banished, and when it reappears, all those that lived in the empire stayed around the same age, in others words while banished they didn't age at all. Now I find this quite interesting, so is it possible that cadence was a alicorn to start off with, but because her empire was banished her alicorn magic was taken until the empire reappeared? That would explain about the whole magic aura coming from her cutie mark, the same as with twilights transformation. Is it possible that cadance, LUNA, and celestial are REALLY related, I think that they might be.

My head canon is that she was born as an unicorn and soon earned her cutiemark by spreading love.

I believe that she's an unicorn because in "Three's a Crowd" she mentions how she hasn't gotten the hang of using her wings when they were used as Discord's slaves to ride the carriage.

I think that magic aroura was the alicorn magic coming out of twilights heart transformed her into an alicorn phisicly.And I think the magic aroura around cadence was trying to tell her that she had just fulfilled her destiny.

I think that weird stuff that came out of Twilight when she got her wings is the (seeing how My Little Pony is... I can't explain it but... I think you know what I mean :P) is the magic from her heart.

The crystal empire is also the empire of love which is why cadence has a crystal heart cutie mark, Luna made an empire on the moon and night time is darkness so Luna is dark colors and a moon cutie mark, Celeatia can probably make an empire on the sun which is associated with light and brightness, Twilight and her six friends represent a star Twilight's cutie mark to be exact

Shining Armor actually wasn't originally meant to be Twilight Sparkle's older sibling. Shining was supposed to be Twilight's childhood crush, this caused a Love Triangle with her big sister, Cadance. That got edited, because it'll cause a bad image on ALL THREE OF THEM if they didn't go with polyamory/polygamy.

But it still left a big hole in Cadance's origin story, that they don't seem want to fill in. Mostly because a lot of plans for Cadance's role as an Equestria ruler have been transferred to Sunset Shimmer, or maybe it was always for Sunset and they shoehorned/hacked Cadance in.

The issue is that a LOT of the Original Source Materials (see Secret Space Program) for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic contained a lot stories on polyamory/polygamy and a guy with multiple gals. The problem is that, the TV series was developed and primary broadcasted in a region that teached the Default is monoamory/monogamy. Then there're also other 'Forbidden Materials'.

Each rewrite/edit caused a further rift from the Original Source Materials. This caused the developers to be confused. If they edited to remove polygamy, they can't continue on with the next part of the story. But if they have polygamy, the series might not be even allowed to air or is immediately shut down. So they're at odds.

And no, throwing ALL THREE OF THEM into a Black Hole is not an option. Not yet anyway…

Nevertheless, they should tread carefully…

Maybe Cadence had a moment when she earned her cutie mark that made her think that her cutie mark meant something else, like when Twilight got her cutie mark, she had no clue it was an element of harmony or that it was on a tree or that she would become a princess. Something similar may have happened to Cadence. What do you think?

Well if you think about it cadence's cutie mark is a crystal heart so her destiny is to fulfill protecting the crystal heart and bring love to all the crystal ponies Twilight well her destiny was to spread friendship and use magic so she fulfilled her destiny by fixing to spell even the great star swirl the bearded cannot even do she fixed the spell

has anyone noticed that twilight's cutiemark has 5 stars it could represent her destiny as the holder of the element of magic and the other stars could be the other elements as there is a big star in the middle as the element of magic is the strongest

That “aura” as you called it, might be what they are meant to do, and when they do what they are meant to do, the aura comes out? In cadence’s case she was already an alicorn, so what she was meant to do is protect the crystal empire from evil, and save spike and the crystal heart. In twilight’s case she was meant to be the princess of friendship and teach all of Equestria about the magic of friendship. And she wasn’t an alicorn so the aura turned her into one when she was ready.

If you wanted to know about that aurora that came out of twilight than here it is princess celestia did not turn twilight into a princess it was that aurora that came straight out of twilight's heart A.K.A it's not her soul it is the friendships that she has for her friends.That same friendship enabled her to become a princess, if you see the magical mystery cure episode car fully you can see that at the end when twilight was becoming a princess ,celetia did not do anything ,she was standing and watching twilight become a princess. Personally, I think that the aura is shown when a cutie marks true meaning is revealed. Maybe it is shown in different ways for alicorns, and for most, it is most often when the cutie mark is revealed.

Cadence must have always been a alicorn. My theory is that cadence was once a normal princess of the crystal empire and her mom and dad was the king and queen. Sombra would have killed the king, queen and cadence, but she must have some how escaped death and ran off. What ever sombra had did to kill them must have erased her memory of the event. When she had gotten some where close to canterlot princess celestial or Luna could have found her and had taken cadence under their wing. My theory!

You see cadence was sent to guard the crystal empire. That's why they said behold the crystal princess. Not because they knew her in the past. Also they do say that cadence was her niece. Hi Bronte Notion, love ur vids and I think u should know that there's actually a comic about sombra's backstory u should watch and the leader of the crystal empire is Princess Amora, and princess Cadences's full name is Princess Mi AMORA Cadencea, I also found out princess Cadence is a long lost relative of her's. Also I think that maybe her cutie mark came when she defeated the evil pony, once again ♥ ur vids!!!

My theory: A long time ago Princess Cadence And "princess " Chrysalis ( Swiss cheese 😃 ) ruled together as fillies with there cutie marks. One day, Chrysalis found a young stallion AlICORN like herself. She instantly fell in love with him, and so did he. ( btw the young stallion is "prince" sombra ) Cadence felt as if Chrysalis had loved the prince more then herself. So Cadence used her magic to banish her to a far off place. i know this vid is old. but i have to say this to this vid having watched it. we know that the comic are cannon that being said the comic about sombra's early years in fiendship is magic shows that sombra was a pony that had a friend much like cadence that was all love who would have been queen after amore. but cause of the fact that sombra was not a normal pony to begin with the heart was having a bad effect on him. his friend tried to save him at that point she got her cutie mark of being a nurse pony. it was when he lost his friend that he really went bad and took over the crystal kingdom making it disapear. cause of her color they might have though she was amore who was lost when sombra took over. im not sure as to the back story of cadence but it seems in the comics she is a unicorn as to how she becomes a alincorn im not sure. but i do belive that the magic that comes off of her and twilight is them fullfilling their destiny and ending up where they are truly ment to be.

I think that Cadence had been to the empire before, kinda like you said but what I think is that she went back there to her TRUE home to visit then yet Cadence is noticed by another pony. I think tis makes a great start to... Season 5? I think what shoukd happen in the first episode of that is to explain Cadence's past. this would be a great idea! :3

cadence's father was the king of the crystal empire and fell in love with a Pegasus which gave birth to cadence. celestia was in the crystalling of cadence.right before her father died, he placed a protection spell on cadence and amethyst so they wouldn't disappear with the empire. after years, her mother left her because her mother was so weak. the ponies found cadence. and she grew and became a princess.

Actually, in the comics, the original queen of the empire apparently had major similarities to princess cadence, so probably thats why the crystal ponies recognized cadence so quickly

i just wanted to say about the crystal pony recognizing cadence. its obvious that cadence is a princess, since... well, she's an alicorn after all and she wears a crown, and she has the crystal heart, since she has the crystal heart, the pony's would be thinking she's the princess of the empire. so if a pony did say "behold the crystal princess", it dosen't necessarily mean she was part of the empire before and its totally reasonable that if any pony thinks that she's the crystal princess. or maybe there was a prophecy like: "a alicorn will rescue the empire when she finds the crystal heart, she will become your princess". but of corse this is all my guesses, it could be wrong.

Cadence and her mom made it out of the Cristal inspire because her mom made a spell that trapped cadence and her in a Cristal but sometime before sombra was defeated they made it out cadences mom was was weekend by creating the spell for a long time when they made it to the woods her mom could barely move but a couple were walking through the forest then the mom put cadence in a blanket and lay her down than went to a bush to hide and slowly died.

I think the aura that arises from a pony is simply an evolutionary magic spark. My theory is that once a pony realizes their life goal the magic that is located within their cutie mark realizes their advancements and level growth in life it aries to award them to grow and evole to the next greater version of themselves. Or it could be brought out by a highly life leveled pony or better alicorn since being an is the greatest state a pony can achieve as far as the show gives. Hence celestia doing what she does for every pony.

It was seem like a bit of a stretch but perhaps something to consider is her name, Cadence, the word usually relates to time. And some ponies names tend to lean towards what they are if that makes sense. An example being Luna, princess of the night. so maybe if you can dig deep enough into some lore and work through this puzzle you could find out more on cadence

Cutie Marks are the greatest and most undeveloped mystery in My Little Pony and sometimes, it feels like the show is avoiding the topic on purpose  which I find rather disappointing. There are just so many unanswered questions. Now recently, an episode about cutie marks was released but it doesn't really dive into the real question and literally goes around in circles the entire episode. But that's for you to judge.


Anyway, all we truly know is Cutie marks are pictures that appear on ponies when they have realized who they are and what makes them unique. From then on, they don't tell us much else. Cutie marks are said to hold a ponies destiny. It's kind of a guide for their purpose in life. All it really is is a physical representation of the pony. But I feel like a cutie mark also represents what you become. I think the cutie mark is the first part and when you fulfill your destiny, the second part is achieved. That glow just might be an extension of who you are.

Here is a crazy theory:

The Crystal Empire was ruled by King Sombra and Queen Crystalis. At that time King Sombra and Queen Crystalis were good and Queen Crystalis was in the form that Thorax was in. But then King Sombra turned evil and it angered Queen Crystalis that she turns into a Changeling. Their daughter is Cadence. Princess Celestia saved Cadence because King Sombra only protect Cadence because Queen Crystalis love her. Then Queen Crystalis heard that Cadence is going to marry a pony so Queen Crystalis was mad because Cadence was a princess without Queen Crystalis' permission. Queen Crystalis then decided that she will ruin the wedding and seek revenge on her own daughter. Cadence cannot remember anything when she was a baby.

I think that the aura thing is their true self. But with cadence she spreads love like a crystal. So the 'crystal heart' must have pretected her some how and sent her to the forest, where the earth ponies found her as a baby pegasus.

well i thank that long long ago when the empire was still around the first king of the empire got married to a pagus then they gave birth to Candace and she was the princess of love and then king sombra attack them the first king knew he could not have the crystal ponys or have his family get hurt so he faced them alone but before he past away he was able to do one last spell to keep her family safe he put huge crystals around them and the heart keeping them safe by the time celastia and ima got there and he made the empire disappear they were safe by the heart but of course the heart was weak by this so the mom outed so much her life to keep the heart in love and light to keep her and her little baby safe then one day the crystals fail down and they were free but the mom was very weak so she traveled far and then the mom seen a couple walking down the road then she fall down but she safely outed her baby on the ground in the road the comple was tacking then she crowed into a bush for she did not want them to see her then the past thang she seen was her little baby being taken to her new home then she pass away

I have a question.. how can cadence have love power when she is a pegasus?? Sure, she can spread love, but using that power to overcome a spell?? Isn't that a unicorn worthy feat? How could Cadence do that before she became an alicorn?

I think that the reason that the aura appeared was that these ponies' destiny is now clear and fulfilled. I think this is the reason why Celestia picked both of these ponies to be princess.

There is back story of Sambra in one of the newer combat books. The ex-mare friend of Sambra was to be the next crystal princess and she was the one who alerted the princess to what Sambra was doing. As she was outside of the empire when it left, she could be the great, great, ...., grandmother of Cadence.

Did you see that sparkling pink thing that swirled around Twilight when she was turning into an alicorn? The same thing happened to Cadence when she destroyed the fake crystal heart...her cutey mark flashed. Now I wonder if she made her destiny even stronger when she broke the fake crystal heart. And I wonder if when Twilight turned into an alicorn, if the light that came out of her made her destiny.... Can you do an analysis about the crystal heart and Cadence? Because I also thought was interesting that the crystal heart is her cutie mark before she even knew about it!

there cutie marks or their destiny finally comes together because when twilight was a child she was celestias student making it possible that the eldest princess knew that twilight had the ability to be a princess and so she had basically planed that twilight would be a princess basically twilight's whole life. As for cadence if you notice in the crystal empire that cadences cutie mark was a picture of the crystal heart making her destiny complete. Her cutie mark would also make sense because cadence has the magic of love making her personality make a connection to her cutie mark.

Maybe the aura was like the their destiny or their magic and when it comes off it's sort of like being altered or like aligned. So like, when something happens to confirm their destiny, or alter it, or make something big in there destiny come true, then the aura thing comes out (also it's the same color as the base of their cutie mark. Cadence=blue Twilight= Purple) and that thing happens. Idk I'm just spit balling randomness.

If Luna and Celestia have been alive for at least 1000 years we can guess they're probably eternal or something so is this the same for Twilight and Cadence? I mean they are both princesses and both Alicorns like the two sisters but unlike them they don't have flowing manes (which is another question) so perhaps not.They also don't have such important duties as them which is another thing we could take into account.

Though if Cadence was around just before the Crystal Empire was lost she would also be around the age of 1000 since it was lost for 1000 years. Unless there was some kind of magical thing that meant she couldn't age while the empire was gone or at least not age as quickly as every pony else.

So watch Ink Rose and you will see that Cadence never left the empire. She and her mother, by her father, froze them in time. He was alicorn and her mother was a pegusus. She still had powers, like to grow crystals, like other crystal ponies. But her magic was a bit more powerful. When she was young she was adopted by Celestial, she was her adoptive niece, like you said and went to the same place as Twilight.

I think I know what the arouras are. In my opinion, when a pony's destiny is fulfilled, the magic of it flows out in an aroura, and becomes the physical form of their destiny someplace else

Personally I disagree with this idea because it shows cadence as a pony resembling a teenager when twilight is talking about cadence being her foal sitter, I think this is a much more recent event, also the fact that she married shining armor would suggest that they are somewhat near the same age, since this is meant for kids, I think the more likely thing is that cadence was born a Pegasus and spread love as often as she could, eventually getting a cutie mark in it, while the cutie mark at the time wouldn’t have made as much sense it seems that, like twilight, her cutie mark was showing the idea of a much bigger destiny for her, and as she aged she became an alicorn so she could spread her love magic farther than before.

I think I know what's happening. Before Cadence and Twilight fulfilled their destinies they were just a standard pony and an alicorn princess. At that moment their whole existence made sense. This was 7 years ago but I still can’t wrap my head around this. First cause the book isn’t cannon. The franchise just approved it. It doesn’t mean it’s part of the actual time line. And second, when the pony said “behold the crystal princess” behold is a word that is used when someone first sees something. Not when they see it again. So I don’t think she was previously part of anything to do with the empire. She just had her destiny tied to it much like Twilights destiny was tied to ponyvills

I think you were right on this whole video BUTTTTTTT, I think that it meant that they were infusing their power and their cutie mark was changing, look a bit closer to see if their cutie marks to see if they change. I also think it will all lead up to the final episode of MLP F.I.M

What that is is probably them noticing what there meant to do you see my theory is that the first step is getting your cutie mark which in my mind just represents what your good at.But when they really know what they are meant to do with your cutie mark represents you complete your destiny.like diamond tiara in the crusaders of the lost mark episode she didn't know what her cutie mark was for so when the C.M.C helped her then she knew what it was for and her cutie mark was glowing for a second and she knew her destiny. I think cadance as a baby had used her wings to (as baby pegasus do) explore. She mustve used her magic, as it wasnt contained, and ended up in the forest. Now we can assume that its fairly but not too far from the crystal empire because she would have been found if she was too close not to mention everything outside the crystal empire is snow. she was then found and raised, im sure celestia had known of the crystal empire but perhaps not of cadance. lets assume that cadance grew and like celestia watched twilight, she had watched cadance previously. cadance grew, celestia adopts her yada yada yada shes the crystal empires princess. admittadley, this has alot of flaws so if anyone wants to fill them in :)

Well to answer your question.Maybe Cadence was related to twilight BEFORE they were alicorns.Because they both experienced the same type of aroara when they fifilled there destiny.They could be connected with similar destinys as alicorns.Maybe they will be a team when the next season.Who really knows whats going to happen but thats my guess.

Destiny -Twilight had been the main one who stood out from her friends
Talent -Twilight's magic......I guess

I don't agree because I believe that only unicorns have the magical capability to become alicorns, and only the most powerful ones. A Pegasus can gain a horn without becoming an alicorn even. One way to tell is they are an alicorn is their wings: alicorn wings look different than Pegasus wings. Also, Cadence isn't a crystal pony. She is recognized for her destiny, not her past.

It's not certain what that could be but I think it's a part of their destiny and soul connecting so they can for fill their separate destines. This would also explain why cadence was twilight's foul sitter! No, not because cadence needed a job but destiny. If she wasn't Twilight would not have saw anything wrong because she wouldn't know what she was really like! She also wouldn't know about the cave underneath canter lot, so havoc would have been placed on equestria. And cadence would have never used the power Twilight helped save to destroy the evil king sonbra (can't spell his name) love! Therefor without love Twilight wouldn't be able to love her friends in quite the same way. Hence she wouldn't become a princess. Back to the fact! The little spark was infant the love within them connecting to each ones cutie mark and how it came to be their destines to help them become what they are meant to be a princess and a ruler over the Crystal Empire.

It could possibly be because their destiny is fulfilled. When you think about it twilight got her cutie mark when she showed her magic, cadence got her cutie mark when her love reversed the spell. The sparkle on twilight represents the crown she will wear soon wear because of her magic ability, and the heart represents cadence the crystal heart which cadence will soon bring. That magic coming out of twilight is possibly the magic she needed to become an alicorn

Its their alicorn magic being unlocked to grant them wings. Although, this does not mean the magic levels has risen. Magic has to be unlocked, earth pony strength and pegasi wings are earned. Thats my theory anyway...

Cadance's full name is Mi Amoré Cadanca (forgive me spelling errors) and in the journal of the two sisters celestia tells that the and Luna had to help princess mi amore save the crystal heart from a dragon.

In the episode that has countess colatrio at the end her cutie mark glows and I think that is the same as cadences and twilight and I think that means that is shows that they are being true to who they really are

Cadence was born as a Pegasus, not and alicorn. She was found by earth ponies in the woods, and was raised by them. There was an evil witch that stole love, but because of her loving energy, she reversed the spell and the witch was no longer bad, and had become friendly Celestia had somehow saw this, seeing that she truly understands and deserves to be a princess, adopts her as a niece and makes her an alicorn.

ACTUAL THEORY PART
Because she is the princess of love, i think that because she was adopted and an orphan, no one knows her parents. I think her mom is princess amore from the comics. Think about it, amore guarded the crystal heart too, their palettes are pretty similar, she can see their destiny, they are both related to love. In fact, Cadence's full name is Mi Amore Cadenza. Amore got shattered after sombra's attack, thats why cadence could never see her mother. I have no clue who her father is though. ( in fact, lauren faust herself said that cadence was a distant relative of princess amore.

The reason why sombra (whos name isn't actually sombra, people called him that because they didnt like him) became evil was because that he was once normal, but could never find his cutie mark. He was friends with someone else who couldnt, radiant hope. They became great friends. Once when they were visiting princess amore, they looked into the crystal heart. The crystal heart deems your future and destiny, radiant hope looked in and was a princess, and sombra looked in, he saw who he was today. Amore asked him what he saw, and he said: " Nothing, only shadows." One day, he came to see that radiant had a cutie mark, a golden sword with two white snakes wrapped around it. When I actually stared thinking about mlp, Cadence made absolutely no sense. Her cutie mark was the crystal heart but the crystal empire had been bashed for 1,000 years. And Cadence isn't like Celestia or Luna, she ages like a normal pony. And i was like "ITS NOT POSSIBLE!" and just gave up. 
But i have to disagree with you, most of the time cutie marks have nothing or little to do with destiny. Cadence's though i would believe that since well the first thing i said.
