I was 9 years old when this stuff came out, all I can say is thank you to Cartoon Network for actually giving me a childhood. Now I just miss it cuz it’s all how we would act in school and around our friends referencing the shows. We didn’t know we were living the best time of our lives…

2012 was such a great year, Cartoon Network had new episodes of regular show and adventure time, toonami came back, YouTube was still considered a place full of creativity, twilight ended, and we all thought the world was going to end.


And I was just 4 years old.

Last time I saw CN was about two years ago. At that time I was disappointed by the lack of quantity. Teen Titans Go, Gumball and maybe two or three others. That's all that was on ALL DAY.

I understand streaming has changed how we get entertainment, but the utter lack of quantity from CN feels sad. Plus the bumpers were fun. And not just the CN City bumpers.

It's weird. When I was a teen people complained about the early 2010's CN and though it was a downgrade. At least the people I knew. Now? The state of CN is depressing.

As for the 20th birthday, they aired a bunch of their old shows on a "What a Cartoon" block that took 3 hours.

So I watched the other videos like this (2006 and 2009) and I wanted to see if I remembered these. In Oct. 2012 I was a sophomore in high school and I didn’t really watch tv anymore. On Nick we just have spongebob, which is still debated on whether or not it’s still good. On DXD we got Ducktales big city greens, and I think amphibia idk I haven’t watched it but it looks good. Plus even though it’s technically Disney channel the new Mickey Mouse shorts.

I so remember when they brought back Cartoon Planet. I forget if was on at 8 or 9pm, but I watched it every Friday night to watch all the old cartoons that stopped syndicating on CN. but were too new to be on Boomerang. I recorded every show in 2012, 2013. God I still wish I had those.

No fucking worries and kits kid things. I'd watch the show with the slime launchers and when they shoot the monsters they get bigger and do an attack. Falling asleep sometimes when I get home and waking up to king of the hill. Man I thought I was lonely then... Only to now realize that it was still better than the loneliness now lol. Gumball, Regular show, Adventure Time, Jessie, both Suite lifes, Old SpongeBob, Dog with a Blog, Kim possible, old Teen Titans, pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Wizards of Waverly place, Avatar TLA, Good luck Charlie, Fosters, Ben 10 and alien force, fuckin Chowder, FLAPJACK, and a whole plethora of shows I can't quite remember right now. Not being able to remember all of my favorite shows makes me very sad. From 2008 to 2013 were those years.

Everything changed when 2012 started coming around, feminists were starting to be a thing, the media was getting more attention, rappers attracted the young generation and ruined the whole music industry, cartoons with actual humor were ending and overall the whole golden age of everything ended

There are very few shows that CN has. They're pretty darn good. Yeah, OK K.O. is more mid-eighties to early 90s, BUT! Infinity Train, Craig of the Creek, We Bare Bears are pretty good shows. Over the Garden Wall was Spoopy.

And i don't even think these were the glory days. back when ed, edd n eddy, billy and mandy, Dexter's laboratory, Johnny bravo and power puff girls (samurai jack was my absolute favorite) were still showing is my prefered era. But i definitely miss the renaissance era of cartoon network more than ever now. Even Boomerang got updated and lost it's charm completely, now it shows old canceled shows from the renaissance era and barely of its older shows, i remember watching old bumpers and staying up all night to watch squidly squid and secret squirrel and yogi bear, but now the most they'll show is tom n jerry and maybe the flintstones if you're lucky.
