As someone who draws, makes trinkets, and all sorts of arts and crafts stuff, I get where Rarity was coming from with her room. I like a neat and organized space in most cases, but when it comes to my workshop it's incredibly important for things to remain as I've left them. It's like returning to it brings my brain back to the headspace it was in when I left, which is important for maintaining inspiration and focus for whatever I'm making. If everything's put away, then I can't remember where I left off, can't find what I'm looking for, and feel incredibly unmotivated to get anything done (on a side note, while it is possible, I'm not entirely convinced that whoever wrote Rarity finding inspiration in her cleaned room has actually had their artistic workspace tampered with before. They may have, but having their workspace cleaned in the middle of a project is hardly ever a positive thing. I wouldn't be so adamant about this if it weren't for the fact that practically every other artist I've ever met has agreed on this point). On top of all of the practical reasons why I don't like others tampering with my work spaces, it also feels like a huge invasion of privacy. I know Sweetie Belle's just a kid, and when you're a kid you rarely have the life experience to predict the outcomes of situations or think critically about how others may perceive things, but I also can't get too mad at Rarity over her reaction, considering that her feelings are still entirely valid and kids tend not to learn from their mistakes if there aren't consequences, since if there are no consequences they have no reason to learn. Rarity certainly could've done better by doing a better job explaining specifically why the mistakes Sweetie Belle had made were bad, but it's hard to blame someone for losing it when being put in the position of a care taker when not prepared for it, and having their professional life being possibly put in jeopardy. I guess simply put, not only in regards to that scene but the episode as a whole, neither of them were really in the right, but both of them were a bit justified in their behavior at the same time.
Sweetie Belle doesn't live with Rarity. She lives with their parents, who live in another house. Rarity probably moved out when she was old enough to start a business.
@@Shritistrang You are correct, but I think Sweetie Belle also has a room a Rarity's house for when she sleeps over there. We've seen her sleep in there a few times.
@@hanasherif8153 Take a look at the Babs Seed episode. You can see the CMC in Sweetie's room, which is in a completely different building than the Carousel Boutique. And you can also see her father outside, fishing.
Hey, PB, still going back through these earlier reactions, and this episode definitely sticks out for anyone with who's had to deal with sibling rivalries. Analysis community member Josh Scorcher (who's a Marine, btw) has mentioned how this episode made him realize how badly he'd treated his younger brother and neglected him and actually broke down watching it. He's since then made amends with his brother and made an effort to treat him better, once again showing how good this show really is. As a fellow older brother, I think Season 5's "Brotherhooves Social" hits me harder, despite being much sillier, but this episode certainly is one of the more relevant episodes for anyone dealing with sibling issues. See you when you get back, PB!
I like Rarity and Sweetie Belle, and I will just say that the amount of tension and the fact that Rarity and Sweetie Belle disowned each other in this episode was pretty shocking.
1:07 IT'S AN EASY FEET! 3:30 Wait for iiiiit... 8:44 As colleague in art (although different area), I physically felt that for Rarity. And she's at the lower of my favorites in Mane-6. You just don't mess with an artist's stuff. NEVER. 9:34 Well, she DID say it's HER house, plus we don't normally seen her family around the house, so it's implied that she lives separately. Although honestly, it took me way more time that it should've to notice it too. 9:51 Swetie, pun intended, you're setting up episode from season SEVEN here! 10:28 Remember what you said about snaps? Yeah, here's your SB. 11:26 This Dialogue *Win Ding* 13:00 It DOES matter, although I agree with the rest of that statement. 15:11 At that point, I wouldn't be surprised, if we've seen Celestia looking in a window. Wait... IS THAT SCOTT PILGRIM REFERENCE?! 15:34 Sir, reporting high level of SASS! 16:05 I mean, in Anime-terms she WOULD be Onee-san (as an archetype, not family status) 16:42 Despite anything, she DOES have a point. Pun is NOT intended. 22:15 Didn't you just had mud bath and stuff? OH, RIGHT, GREEN ISN'T YOUR COLOR 23:15 Is it Sugar Maple? 23:30 Nope, that one comes later in this season
Rarity's self-control here is something else. And she's THE Drama Queen of the show! (Twilynanas is whole different realm)
You know, when rarity was disguised as applejack, though the eye color was rarity’s eye color, the eye shape and eye lashes were applejacks. Though it doesn’t matter in the long run, thought I would just point that out.
This is a good episode. It's nice to see Rarity and Sweetie Belle as a sister dynamic. Applebloom and Applejack make a great contrast. Okay Rarity getting muddy is really cool.
I hate when my brother is in my room. I keep it locked at all times because of it. But if he cleaned it and did nothing else I'd take him to dairy queen for a blizzard or something.
Sadly he always messes with everything, snoops, and snatches things. Hence the lock
