Yeah having dyslexia when it comes to reading is hard, not so hard for me now, but a couple of times for sub for me. Honestly I could care less if anyone watches it sub or dub as long as the anime and dialog is good then let's just love it together. I honestly don't see the point in the argument it's "each to their own" which is my favriout saying since not everyone is the same and we just do our own things. But yeah, people who screech about how much of a "fake fan" we are since we watch an anime in a dub put themselves on a so call "throne" because they're so much higher than us.
If you watch anime in sub, more power to you. If you watch anime in dub, more power to you Lets just love anime together for what it is and not get so toxic about it. Just be nice to be nice, do some good in the world and set an example
I wish there were glasses or contacts that could fix people's dyslexia. My sister has dyslexia and i can see her struggling in school a lot because of it.
Interesting you mentioned subs vs dubs. I used to be all pretentious with subs and thinking that dubs were crap because you don't get the inflections that the original language may have. But these days when I watch Netflix and I see the movie has subtitles I am often annoyed because I don't feel like reading a movie, especially if I'm trying to eat at the same time. I used to be a member of a website that had podcasts for learning Italian and I once heard that films are typically dubbed in Italian as opposed to being subtitled because they are very proud of their Italian voice actors.
I remember even 10 years ago streaming was pretty new if even a thing at all. Youtube videos were limited to I think 10 minutes.
It gets especially bad when there are fights or action sequences, I'm a huge fan of animation and choreography so I need to then divide my sight for both visuals and text. It feels like texting while driving.
@Arvak777 yeah I'm the same when it comes to the flow of the fights, each movement and the connection of the punches/kicks. But when I need to read the sub while watching the fight it gets pretty hard and annoying. But sometimes manage or they repeat the same animation for the sentences
at 3:47 I was laughing instead of relaxing just the way she said can go suck it you can feel the frustration but I agree I like to watch anime dubbed not in my natives language but in English I don’t now it feels better to listen to and watch
At first I was like nah I don't feel like listening to a rant, but then I read doctor who in the description and I was like ok never mind good bye sleep
I honestly have no opinion on all of this. I just like listening to your voice. Sorta hard to play Sonic forces speed battle while listening to any of kittimin videos .

I am simply bothered by the fact that some people seem to be specifically created and put on this Earth to not like things. Like, no matter how good you are at something, how pointless a really small problem is, or how nice you want to be there is always going to be those select few people who just won't like it or you simply because you're doing it. Meanwhile, I cannot understand such opinions because I have recently mastered the art of Not Giving A Damn Jimminy Christmas just put on your pants and have a good day.
3:33 to 6:17 Oh yeah, when it comes to anime I can't stand sub purists that say "Your not a true fan of what your watching because you watch it dubbed" Not only can people have dyslexia. There are people who are visually impaired (like myself) who can't read subtitles at all. I had to put up with that nonsense a month ago over in the One Piece fanbase.
Jeremy Knight See, that's the thing I don't get. Who honestly cares if you watch the sub or dub? Watch which ever one you either prefer or is convenient for you. Such a small, pathetic argument there for the sake of arguing.
Just toxic and self centred people who think of themselves highly that they're listing to the original voice acting and stuff. Honestly if you like dub then that's you, and yes with someone who is also dyslexic I understand you compleatly. It can get pretty confusing for me sometimes I need to rewatch a few parts to read again or pause. Over time I gotten use to it and it's slowly going away. But really who cares who watches who as long as it's the same show then let's love it together
Sorry those are what we call proper weebs. The One Piece fan base is a very mixed bag so I would recommend you stay away from that community. I hope they didn’t ruin your experience of anime for you.
Thicc ness. No, they didn't ruin One Piece for me. I'm still watching it despite what they say about the Funimation dub. No matter what anime series I watch Sub purists are there. Although I'm curious, is the One Piece fanbase really that bad? aside from that incident where people were telling me to watch it subbed and that I was "Hurting myself" or "Making a mistake" for watching the Funimation dub the few interactions I've had with them was pretty nice.
@UhOh Wait is the fan base that bad? Ifmim gonna be honest i think myself both sub and dub are pretty good. The voices fits the character's look and personality. Thought that the fan base would be kinda chill
+Jeremy Knight It’s not that bad but like any fanbase, it’s got a very poisonous side and will spill out very quickly like a leak if you say the wrong stuff sometimes. Overall it’s not a bad fanbase, it’s just ruined by elitist because they claim that they were with the series at the very beginning or some shit like that. Even then the One Piece dub is decent enough so I don’t see why people have to complain about it.
+Angry Scottish Man Like I said, it’s actually a pretty alright fanbase but it suffers from elitism like hell. I’m not saying that your gonna be spammed with lots of hate, you just might want to be careful with your words.
@UhOh Ahh okay now I get it. Just like any other fan base with my experience. Pisses me off that you can't have an opinion. But hey it's the internet what can you do?
I don’t have a problem reading subtitles, but I want to watch the animation. I can’t do both at the same time. How does that make me not a fan of anime. Is dubbed anime not anime.
Always love to hear your thoughts on the world Kitti!
