This is a S4 favorite of mine. Not only is it chock full of Scooby Doo vibes, but it has some interesting facts about the castle of where the Royal Sisters lived once upon a time.
This is the rare example of them not thinking ahead on this show they say here the pony of shadows is remnants of nightmare moons magic yet in season 7 he's revealed to be a guy named Stygian. they usually do think ahead most of the pillars were mentioned in the first episode of season 6 for example.
This is the second time she does that ;) The first one was in "Look Before You Sleep" back in season 1. As for the Google search, though, special care is advised, because spoilers are everywhere.
I never noticed it on my earlier watches, but your constant innuendos actually made me notice something new in this episode:
When you were cracking jokes about gloryholes and the opening in the room, there was a score/counter scratched into the wall. Even if they meant to imply it was made by someone trapped there for months until they died, whether grimdark or innuendo support, I can't believe it got past censors.
This is a good episode. The way they get the main six all together is great. The castle concept is pretty cool. Okay the joke about Angel being crushed is good dark humor.
Took me a while to get to this one. Been distracted for a while. I often enjoy it when shows that aren't typically creepy have a creepy episode. It was really toned down for a young audience in this case, but it still was pretty entertaining. If this show was just rated Y-7, though, we probably could have gotten just a bit more.
hey ponybro. I can only speculate on this, but might that last 'pony of shadows' be Zecora in a cape? After all, she lives in the Everyfree forest, and would note the passage of so many ponies going to the Castle of the Two Sisters.
The ending “twist” showing there was a pony of shadows (that ended up being featured later on more prominently) after all reminded me of the ending of the classic 1966 Don Knotts Horror /Comedy “The Ghost & Mr. Chicken”.
Spoiler Below
The ending reveals there was no supernatural events in the mansion (they were all manipulated by a man named Mr. Kelsey) after all yet when Knotts’ character gets married the organ in the church plays the same creepy theme the organ played in the mansion and there was no one at it.
Fun fact: The title of this episode is a reference to a great old video game, "Castlevania" ;) There's also a ponified version of this game, called "Ponyvania". You should try plaing it sometime ;) 01:37 Last time we were here, this place looked less ruined. And there was a tower. 02:03 Ancient Alicorns ;> 02:37 Next time look closely at the Fluttershy part in the intro ;) There's also something new at the end of it. (Also, triple Rare plot at 02:37 ;) ) 09:06 Yup, good catch ;> 09:45 Yeah, but you can always tell him apart by his assholeness ;) 09:55 Luna: "Did you read my diary?!" ;J 10:45 Hahah I knew you won't miss that detail ;D Now just wait... ;> (BTW the lighting... :> ) 12:25 Well, the adult viewers of this show will know for sure, Spike ;J 14:31 Yeah, it's like Anges is breaking the karma :q 18:10 Rarity looks adorable as a Sith lord :) 18:39 Well, there is one pony missing, isn't it? ;> 18:58 I must admit, that was my first guess too. 20:15 I heard that someone tried, and he's in a lunatic asylum now, muttering something about bluebells :s 20:54 One of my favourite quotes from this show :) 22:20 Probably the greatest set up in this show ;> Because it looks like the Pony of Shadows is real after all. Who might it be then? ;>

According to the episode's writer, Josh Haber, that ending bit was just a red herring, a gag ending meant as an homage to old Scooby Doo episodes. Any resemblance to future events or characters is purely coincidental.
(We probably shouldn't discuss any fan theories here though, where we might accidentally spoil future things for this reactor.)

Probably was Tirek
5 likesDefinitely a nice episode. It was just a nice one.
3 likesAlthough Tirek's appearance at the end was a nice fore-shadow (ha! Get it?) of the finale.
