Riječ je o vrlo 'Up' albumu - zbirci jednostavnih sretnih, nasmiješenih akustičnih folky pjesama predvođenih akustičnim gitarama s 'srednjovjekovnom' instrumentacijom koja zauzima stražnje sjedalo, iako još uvijek prisutna. Iz nekog razloga uvijek se sjetim Harvey Andrewsa, oko sredine 70-ih, kad čujem ovaj album!
Čak i na CD-u, album je u biti predstavljen kao dvije različite 'strane'. Poglavlje 1 su uglavnom puni bendovski aranžmani za pjesme, odvojeni kratkim dijelom orkestralnih dronova. Omiljena je singalong Young Man's Fancy. Poglavlje 2 najbolje mi odgovara s pjesmama napisanim u tradicionalnijem stilu i uglavnom bez ritam sekcije bas/bubnjeva koja mu daje lakši osjećaj, ali i bez orkestralnih sekcija povezivanja. Omiljene pjesme su Jedrenje koje guraju gitare uz pratnju žice i čembala; lažno-tradicionalni festival; i ulično kazalište Weaver's Market koje uključuje Paula Rodgersa na vokalima među ostalima.
Ne vidim važnost za Proga, ali uvijek sam ga volio, pa ga mrzim dati manje od 3 zvjezdice. Ako volite akustične gitare u folky kantautorskoj veni onda biste trebali pokušati, a za 39 minuta to očito ne znači da je dobrodošlo.ladislav&ziovanovic...
C’est un album très « Up » - une collection de chansons folky acoustiques simples et heureuses et souriantes dirigées par des guitares acoustiques avec une instrumentation « médiévale » qui prend un siège arrière, bien que toujours présente. Pour une raison quelconque, je me souviens toujours de Harvey Andrews, vers le milieu des années 70, quand j’entends cet album!
Même sur CD, l’album est essentiellement présenté comme deux « côtés » différents. Le chapitre 1 est principalement des arrangements de groupe complets pour les chansons, séparés par une courte section de drones orchestraux. Le favori est singalong Young Man’s Fancy. Le chapitre 2 me convient le mieux avec des chansons écrites dans un style plus traditionnel et la plupart du temps sans une section rythmique basse / batterie qui lui donne une sensation plus facile, mais aussi sans sections de connexion orchestrale. Les chansons préférées sont Sailing, qui pousse des guitares accompagnées de cordes et de clavecin; festival faussement traditionnel; et le Weaver’s Market Street Theatre, qui comprend Paul Rodgers au chant entre autres.
Je ne vois pas l’importance de Prog, mais je l’ai toujours aimé, donc je déteste lui donner moins de trois étoiles. Si vous aimez les guitares acoustiques dans la veine folky songwriting alors vous devriez essayer, et dans 39 minutes, cela ne signifie évidemment pas qu’il est le bienvenu.ladislav&ziovanovic...
It is a very 'Up' album - a collection of simple happy, smiling acoustic folky songs led by acoustic guitars with 'medieval' instrumentation that takes a back seat, although still present. For some reason I always remember Harvey Andrews, around the mid-'70s, when I hear this album!
Even on CD, the album is essentially presented as two different 'sides'. Chapter 1 is mostly full band arrangements for songs, separated by a short section of orchestral drones. Favorite is singalong Young Man's Fancy. Chapter 2 suits me best with songs written in a more traditional style and mostly without a bass/drum rhythm section that gives it an easier feel, but also without orchestral connection sections. Favorite songs are Sailing, which push guitars accompanied by string and harpsichord; false-traditional festival; and the Weaver's Market Street Theatre, which includes Paul Rodgers on vocals among others.
I don't see the importance to Prog, but I've always loved him, so I hate to give him less than three stars. If you like acoustic guitars in the folky songwriting vein then you should try, and in 39 minutes it obviously does not mean that it is welcome.ladislav&ziovanovic...
