Applejack said "If Mom and Dad were here they'd be so proud." This isn't a spoiler but their parents are dead and it is never explained how it happened in the show at least.
Let's remove the other possibilities that could of killed their parents, let's dive right in.
Applejack doesn't have major grudge on Timberwolves, she rather thinks of them as another beast in the forest so that's off that radar.
And I got my money all on that Avalanche accident or them falling off a cliff.
AJ wanting to be strong, strong enough so she can pull her own weight, this signifies on how HUGE her guilt is over her Parents, possibly a situation where Applejack was helpless to do anything to save her parents because "She wasn't strong enough"
It’s the mark of a good show when you care about the struggles the characters go through. It’s the mark of a Great show when you cheer on their accomplishments.
When the CMC started singing after their cutie marks appeared, then AJ, Rainbow, and Rarity joined in, and then the flashbacks came on I cried tears of joy. These fillies have come so far, they deserved this.
They got their cutie marks on the fifth universary of the show. This is hands down one of the best episodes in the series, and my favorite of the season. The built up to them getting their butt marks is really cool, and the ending of this episode is reslly emotional. And that applejack sentence... remember it. I loved your reaction!
Lol, imagine how emotional and exciting it was back in the day. I was so thrilled and emotional and try explaining to your folks that it's because three cartoon horses got pictures on their butts.
For the last several months I’ve been watching through the show with my parents for the first time, and we finally got to Crusaders of the Lost Mark tonight, and they actually got a little emotional. Not nearly as emotional as me, but still. So yes, as others have said, it’s all about context and 5 seasons’ worth of buildup.
@@Narrator007 Oh yes, Steven Universe starts as a silly slice of life show with lore hints here and there, then builds to something incredibly intense. And it has amazing songs. Highly recommended.
And that's the whole problem, because it starts out inconspicuously and harmlessly, some may even say silly, and easily dismiss it, being unaware of how it evolves with time.
That sounds a lot like Star Vs. as well, and perhaps Steven Universe from what I've heard.
That's the thing: it cannot be explained. Trust me, I tried. Showing this particular episode to someone uninitiated won't work, because it's all about the context. It's not about just this episode, it's about everything that led up to it, the entire five-season-long build-up. One has to see those characters grow, see them fail multiple times, learn from their mistakes, and establishing connection with them. It's only then when this episode has such an impact, when all that build-up pays off and accumulated emotions overflow with liquid pride ;) Same thing goes with Twilight getting her wings. And this is impossible to explain to someone who haven't been through all of this, because they wouldn't have that context required to understand the weight of the matter. I often compare MLP to the Matrix: no one can explain to you what the Matrix is – you have to see it for yourself ;) And that's the whole problem, because it starts out inconspicuously and harmlessly, some may even say silly, and easily dismiss it, being unaware of how it evolves with time.
Fun fact: diamonds, while extremely scratch resistant, are actually quite fragile. However, diamond dust can make sharp tools even sharper, giving even broken diamonds a purpose.
Same. Every time I try to think of another episode that could top Crusaders of the Lost Mark, I come up empty. Not even The Last Problem makes me cry every single time like Crusaders of the Lost Mark does.
I promise you, I really upset how I’m late to this reaction, but seeing this really got to me. I mean it. His crying is so infectious, it’s like when one of the characters cry, he cries and then I cry. I really wish you could see my face as I’m typing this but I’m literally recovering from flooding my room with tears from his reaction. I love this guy, dude. He’s so awesome! Thank you PonyBro!
@@Crazy-Cocoa-2.0 Because Orchard wouldn’t recognize/appreciate a good emotional episode if it hit them in the face. All those bridges burned with Firebrand and many of the other Brony Reviewers is indicative of that
@@Crazy-Cocoa-2.0 I could care less to be honest as long as you like it thats all that matters. Perfect pear, royal problem and Slice of life are good episodes Imo. Along with hurricane fluttershy, read it and weep, lesson zero, sleepless in ponyvile, sounds of silence, party of one, best night ever, and so on. Its a good show overall I think despite some missteps.
@@lordshenfan6625 Yeah, but I don't think I'll be forgiving her for hating on "The Perfect Pear", "Slice of Life" and "A Royal Problem" 😅 Her opinions, sure, but....ya know🙃
One of the many things I love about this episode is that Diamond Tiara, who continually made fun of them for not having marks, was the one who eventually was the cause of them earning their marks. And in turn, the CMC realized what made them special and erned their marks because they showed kindness and understanding towards a pony who had always bullied them.
Their are so many wonderful things about this episode! And yes, I will admit that I started tearing up a little at the first song wail watching your reaction because I knew what was coming.
@@pinkclouds1292 Same! This was the first full episode of MLP I ever watched (thanks to the YouTube algorithm), and I literally had no idea who the CMC were or what a cutie mark was. Even so, it obviously struck a major chord with me, because I’m still here 7 years later…
@@blobalmighty4151 Oh, stop whining, nobody asked your opinion on a year old comment. To be honest, i fucking hated that episode and I was indifferent all the way. CMC episodes are overrated, i prefer Fluttershy's ones. Have a good day!
About halfway through watching this reaction my wife walked in, took one look at the screen and told me to restart it. It's easily one of her favorite episodes.
25:43 - a wing inside a lightning bolt, to be exact. It signifies that even if she can't fly, she's incredibly fast when she uses her wings to power up riding on her scooter, aka she's an adrenaline junkie. ^_^
12:54 "I just get random bursts of teary-eyed, just out of nowhere, thinking about all of the stuff that's going on in this thing. I don't know why I'm on the fritz." Emotional circuit overload. Perfectly normal for someone binge watching episodes 12-18 all at once.
I like how they found a way to give them marks but still have a reason for CMC episodes. Also this is one of the few plot twists that Hasbro managed not to spill in previews, so it really hit everyone as a surprise.
I think there was a void in our lives that MLP filled. I think the show really highlights what’s really important in life. It’s our relationships with our family and friends that really colour our lives. The show is appealing because it’s real
This episode always brings the feels for me no matter how many times I watch it and see reactions to it. The songs (especially Diamond Tiara's solo song) always get me.
Also I can't blame you for not liking Pip that much he kind of annoys me too.
Oh, I KNEW this was going to give you the feels! The journey for the CMCs to get their cutie marks was long, but it was absolutely worth it in the end. I'm so glad they made this a musical. For an occasion like this, you have to add some flair. And now you see why fans like Diamond Tiara, even after her history in the past seasons. The CMCs have truly come of age. The crusade is never over however. The adventures will go on, and they have only one way to go, forward.
2:08 "I was about to say, are they ever going to get their freaking cutie marks, or is that like a season 9 finale thing?" Oh they're not going to make you wait that long... ;)
0:10 "I didn't wanna do it on camera, 'cause I know you guys... don't want to see me just cry..." If that were the case, we'd be skipping this reaction altogether!
Fun Facts about the original version of the final song of this episode: 1. In the original Rainbow's line was "I'm so proud of you, little SISTER", (that would've multiplied the feels even more) 2. The original had a verse from Diamond Tiara, but it had to be cut from the song in order to fit the episode length.
Seeing people cry to this show is one of the best things to see dont feel afraid to cry on camera it makes it so much better knowing you went in not expecting to like the show at all then getting to the point were the show really pulls at your heart strings the amount of care that went into makeing this show is astonishing and im glad i get to watch you experience it. this show is truly something special
man I am exactly the same as you in terms of what this show does to me, totally changed my life for the better. And that also goes for so many other people, after season nine it's so nice to see reactions to the older ones, to know there's still new eyes discovering mlpfim and loving it really makes me happy. And you never need to feel ashamed of emotion as I know well that new oceans were made because of this simple, amazing show.
And here’s one of the biggest episode’s of the season! I love these kind of episodes, ones with a handful of musical numbers and miraculous events that take place within the story. I never thought I’d see the day that Silver Spoon would stand up to Diamond Tiara the way she did here, I was completely awe struck. Then, there’s Diamond Tiara’s sudden shift in her attitude. I also never thought I’d ever felt sorry for Diamond Tiara, ever. Seeing her convert to being a good character really made me smile and had made me have a forgiving heart towards her, considering that it was her mother who raised her to be mean and nasty. As if that wasn’t enough, the CMC finally earning their cutie marks was the biggest highlight of the episode! My jaw fell on the floor and locked in place for the remainder of the episode. This amazing turn of events had a similar flare like Twilight’s ascension to Princess-hood, enough to bring tears to the eyes, which it most certainly did. Another awesome milestone in MLP FIM history and one of my top favorite episodes of the series!
Idk why but it hits harder after you rewatch it, the second the episodes starts and they start singing, cause they sing the same song in the end, it makes me tear up knowing what's going to happen
@@awildnoviceappears Make New Friends But Keep Discord. When Fluttershy took Tree Hugger to the gala instead of him. Discord: "You're supposed to say 'Who's there?'! This is the most basic of jokes!" Maud: "You're the most basic of jokes."
I just noticed, Diamond Tiara's mom is a really fast runner. DT and the CMCs passed her in the center of town, and she still managed to beat them to the schoolhouse and have time to start a meeting.
No doubt one of the greatest MLP episodes ever made. Amazing songs, amazing character progression, and amazing feels. This episode really felt like the end of a journey we had been following for years and it was even better that it was a complete surprise!
It was never advertised as anything special and we all thought this just another ordinary episode, so the emotions all hit light a freight train. Man, what an episode. It will forever be a legend in how to make a monumental moment both logical, surprising and, most importantly, meaningful. Good job CMC. You made you mark. :'-)
I watch your reactions to episodes more than I watch the actual episodes. I especially love watching you react to the emotional episodes. I discovered MLP a few years ago, but your reactions almost feels like I'm watching them for the first time again! ❤
PonyBro I Guess i almost never cry when watching movies/series but Diamond Tiara’s song made me even though I heard it a couple of times before and I can’t even remember when was the last time I felt this emotional over a song before it’s crazy
This season is definitely a rollercoaster of many episodes and I can’t help but cry on this one as well. It really be happy tears but also crying because you can really relate to many things through this season.
This is one of those episodes that just reduces me to tears every time I watch it. I really feel for Diamond Tiara and I love what they did with her here. But especially the last song is where the flood gates open every time. Whenever Rainbow, Rarity and Applejack join in, I'm just done for.
This is tied as my favorite episode of the series, and one of the few that made me tear up. I already knew they were getting the cutie marks when I watched it, I got to anxious and I had to spoil myself. And it still hit me really hard.
This season just had to have all the gut punches and I loved every one. Luna at the end excited to see the cmc get there cutie marks was a nice touch too
I know right?! especially since she played a huge role in helping the CMCs deal with their insecurities (Scootaloo fearing that Rainbow Dash will not become her sister figure in Sleepless In Ponyville, Sweetie Belle feeling overshadowed by Rarity in For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils and finally Apple Bloom's fear of how people would perceive her cutie mark in Bloom & Gloom)
Besides the excitement that Luna feels, she also feels satisfaction knowing that her job as a Princess helped the CMCs overcome their fears and insecurities as well as somehow, she contributed to the fact that the CMCs made their biggest dream come true: get their cutie marks and understand that their purpose is to help others discover their true talent and their true selves. This is why I love Princess Luna so much and no wonder she has one of the most impressive character development in the show.
When you were talking at the start about how emotional you’ve been getting from these episodes recently I was giggling like a mad man knowing what was about to come
Dude bro, I love watching your videos, especially this video. Not overly hyper but full of emotion. i sure wish i had a room to myself while in the military, it was hard watching the last problem and not letting my roommate see me cry haha.
@@ponybroiguess384 Dude same! anyone in my platoon found out that i like the show, id lose all respect from my juniors. But if they do find out, you better own it haha.
Haha yeah, but I am still not fully commissioned or anything. I am still in college doing my training along with my classes so I have my own dorm. If word ever gets out about my channel to my Army friends then I’m done for lol
Rarity and Rainbow’s parts in that last song really hit me in the feels every time. It really sells how much they care about Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell. It’s so nice to see.
This series was one of the best, and it had a lot of character growth that you can see through the seasons. This one is one of the best (I put it in the top 10) of all 9 seasons.
I was worried for you when you started this episode saying you needed time to recover from Brotherhooves Social, considering what I knew was coming. Everyone who watches the show through to this episode gets emotional, I did. The way they did the show, all these CMC episodes, it really felt like they were your younger siblings, and you were seeing them finally achieve their dreams.
This episode not only was a wholesome story about Diamond Tiara's redemption, but the crusaders got their cutie marks- finding their purpose to be absolutely amazing. Of course the episode is so loved :)
I still tear up at this one, even though I know what's coming, and to me that's the mark of a show that isn't just good, but outstanding. I'm proud to be a brony.
I'll be honest, I saw this episode before I was really into the series so I didn't understand the significance of them getting their marks the way they did and thought it was a cop out that their marks were being crusaders. But after watching the whole series, this episode meant so much more and I actually cried the second time I saw this. This show is so great and it's so important to see it in order. I love this ❤️
This is a fantastic episode. Diamond Tiara gets fantastic character development. The CMC getting their cutie marks is fantastic. Diamonds' mother is really stuck up.
I was totally expecting a fantastic reaction from you for this and the previous episode. I was not let down one bit. I knew they'd get to you. :) They get me every time.
When Rarity finished her line and Sweetybell let out a little whimper, my heart shattered like the crystal heart. Tears were flowing after that. Such a great episode.
Every time I watch this episode the flashbacks are what got me to cry 😭 cuz I was realizing that the crusaders episodes won’t be the same anymore and they’ve just been through so much it’s kinda hard to get used to the fact that they got their cutie marks 😭🥺😁😭😁
Cartoon filly doesn't know what to do with her life and we crying. A mare scolds her were-villain daughter and we crying.
Technicolor ponies reach their long-awaited goal and we crying and ask for more. We are the true face of the Brony community.
Every one who watched the show will tear up it was a great show, not even AAA studios and shows can do this stuff..... also noone can understand this feeling without watching the show and know the characters
20:42 I think that AB's voice actor forgot her accent there
I still can't watch this while driving cause it makes me misty eyed every time even more effective when the reactor gets/sounds emotional. First time I watched this I cried from the start of the final song to about 5 mins after the show was over. Also, the Bronies React for this one actually included the CMC's VA's BlackGryphon who you last saw during the Miltary Bronies React is/was a regular on it and he does background VA work on at least EqG anyway he knows AB's and SB's VA and maybe even Scootaloo's VA as well so he was able to have them react to it as well since they I don't think they had even seen the completed product yet
I still to this day can not watch this with out crying I've stopped since the episode ended but my eyes are still watery now. my first episode of this show was stare master (CMC episode) and the first new episode was stare master (CMC episode) so naturally I am a huge CMC fan. when in watched this I was already tearing up at tiara and when they redeemed her this was the best episode ever there was nothing more this needed and then.... then they got thier marks. god damn it writing this is starting to make me cry I just cant help it I am so damn proud of my little girls to get their marks. thank you man for doing this episode brohoof you made me cry but I am happy to do so to this I am looking orward to atching more with you bro
I found it ironic that in bloom and gloom you said there is no way they would give a cutie mark in a random middle of the season. Correct but sometimes special events happen right in the middle of the season. Slice of life and the fifth anniversary episode hit in one season
Hey dude I watched this one it's the second time I've seen this episode but I still teared up . This is on of my favorite episodes and your reaction was great
Correct me if I am wrong but we never see diamond tiara play a role in later episodes, that’s kinda disappointing since I would have love to see a reformed diamond tiara helping others
00:10 Mwahah time for the final punch then ;D 01:30 When an episode starts with a song, get ready for some serious business ;> 03:57 Well, she wanted her own stained glass window, that's all :J You know, like the ones in Celestia's palace ;) 05:55 Wanna control people? Make them believe that their strengths are their weaknesses :q 06:32 Buying the votes always work. That's how all socialist governments win elections. 07:34 Well, Mr. Adolf at least were keeping his promises and doing good stuff to German people :q On the other hoof, Diamond Tiara's rule didn't cost any pony's life :q (however, we don't know how it could have evolved if she were allowed to rule for some longer time...) 08:45 Ooof that was something I was waiting for so long :> 11:15 Yeah, I love everything about this song. One of the best songs in this show in my opinion. And Diamond Tiara sure can sing. 12:12 Because it's her voice actress (Claire Corlett). I heard that the voice directors wanted her to provide this particular line for Diamond Tiara, but I'm not sure why. 13:10 Her mom is coming out :J 13:42 Classic :) As they say, socialism is a great system until you run out of other people's money :) And governments don't have their own money, so... ;J BTW "peggy bank" :) you know, because it's a Pegasus :D 15:13 I love how this song is designed. It starts with some ominous minor chords, and during their dialogue, starting from 15:15, it starts changing gradually by introducing major chords from the same minor key, until it consists of major (uplifting) chords entirely when the CMCs are starting to convince her. (It's a similar trick to the one from the final battle song in "Rainbow Rocks" :> ) And this part of the song is at the same time the reprise in Diamond Tiara's reformation song at the end, which shows how much her change has been influenced by the CMCs :) 17:32 Well, it is a talent all right. The problem is, it can be used for good as well as for bad. 18:48 Mending your fences there, eh? ;) 19:30 Feels bomb ensues in 3...2...1.... ;> 21:57 Hah, tell me'bout it! We've been waiting for this to happen for FIVE YEARS :D And yet it hit us unexpected :J 22:02 Hahah when you think that was the last punch, but here comes the next one :D 23:28 Yeah, the writers did a very good job in setting this up :) Especially Amy Keating Rogers who wrote this episode :J They knew that once they'll start fiddling with the subject of cutie marks with Starlight in the season premiere, many fans might start suspecting something. So they preceded it with a couple of other CMC episodes to lull their vigilance: first "Bloom And Gloom" in which Apple Bloom got her cutie mark... not ;) because it was just a dream ;) (they got you for a moment, remember? :> ) Then the Troubleshoes episode. It was all to make you less jumpy next time you encounter the subject of cutie marks ;) Then there comes this episode, and starting it with a song would definitely raise many people's alertness, so they twisted it in such a way that it wasn't about the CMCs, but about Little Pip and the school election – a seemingly unimportant event with no real weight to the fate of Equestria. And to top that, they covered it all with Diamond Tiara's issues and redemption, which was a big emotional event in itself, so after that almost no one was expecting anymore that something else might happen :J And then BAM! out of the blue, they get their cutie marks :) MULTICOMBO :) And there couldn't be any more perfect way to close the CMCs' character arc than connecting it with Diamond Tiara's reformation, when you look at it: it all started with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon teasing them in "Call Of The Cutie", when the CMCs first met (well, they met as early as in episode 1, but they didn't know about it yet) and started their club. And no matter what they did since then, they character arc couldn't be complete as long as Diamond Tiara staid on their way. She was the ultimate problem they had to solve in order to solve their own problem, because her problem with understanding her own cutie mark and living up to it, was at the same their problem with understanding why does the act that way towards them. She was their Nemesis, so to speak ;) So helping her to solve her problem also make them aware of their true destiny in life, which was helping others in finding their own way in life and getting their cutie marks. They already did that in the past, but they never realized that this is their true talent until now. This is so deep and multi-level it's brilliant! :> 24:24 It's kinda like being a parent and watching your kids grow and seeing them achieve something great in their lives, like graduating, or getting married, isn't it? :) There's a mashup of people's reactions to this episode, kinda like the Bronies React, but with some less horse-famous reacters. All of them got very emotional in this scene, many of them were crying, or jumping around their room and screaming of joy :) One of them (Volt Wing) even broke his headphones, then grabbed his camera and started running around his house, screaming (to the puzzlement of his family): "THEY GOT THEIR CUTIE MARKS! THEY FINALLY GOT'EM! AAAAA!" :D 25:30 That also makes much sense, if you think of it ;) And it's the second time we know of where a group of ponies gets their cutie marks together at the same time ;> Remember how the mane six got theirs, and how that established their special connection before they even met each other? ;> ("Cutie Mark Chronicles") Now the same happens to the CMCs. There's definitely something important about that ;) 26:40 Yup, there definitely is. I knew it from the very first episode, when I saw that fantasy world full of mystery, magic, adventure, legends, mythical creatures, ancient symbolism, engaging stories, multi-dimensional characters with complex psychology, lots of creativity with art style and music, good morals and great life lessons. It was something I was something I was waiting for many years, because I grew up on those old cartoons from the '80s which were more like this, and I really missed that, because there's not many cartoons that good these days. Mos of them are just dumb entertainment and slapstick designed to distract children, get their attention, and turn them into mindless zombies :q They don't teach anything, they don't provide good role models nor morals anymore. So I was very happy to see that "Friendship is Magic" is restoring these values and that it indeed has a positive influence on so many people's lives. We need more shows like this. 27:27 Yeah, you already showed multiple times that you're a Harmony Brony :) (that's what I call those bronies who take the friendship lessons from the show into their heart and do their best to live up to these standards in their lives, because, unfortunately, not every fan of this show is like this, and there are also people who call themselves bronies and yet who don't even watch the show :q ).
@@Narrator007 Maybe because I wasn't quoting anyone. It was just my general observation of how people in power usually get into power to begin with. They couldn't have power over other people if those other people have certain strengths that they don't. So in order to subordinate them, they need to convince those people that their strengths are actually their weaknesses. (Look also at what Starlight Glimmer did with all the ponies in her village in order to get her power, and what pretty much every government does with citizens.) I noticed that pattern long time ago after I had a dream in which an old witch tried to enchant me by describing me as ugly, and by reframing my strengths as weaknesses, in order to control me. The more I believed her, the more I became what she was describing, so I was getting uglier and weaker, and she was becoming more beautiful and powerful. Thankfully, one Elf girl told me how her trick works, so I stopped listening to that witch, and as soon as I did it, she became ugly and weak again, and I restored my usual appearance.
As for the term "Harmony Brony", I made it once to further distinguish between Bronies who are in the fandom only because of its popularity, or because they need to belong somewhere, but they don't really watch the show or they don't really like it, and those who watch the show thoroughly, value its friendship lessons and do their best to implement these values & morals into their lives. When I was proposing this term a couple of years ago, people were very offended by it, telling me that I'm introducing divides into the fandom and spread hatred o_O I tried to explain that the divide already exists, and I'm just trying to label things properly to avoid confusion (because I know that some people don't want to call themselves "bronies" precisely because they don't want to be associated with those radical pseudo-fans). You might be the first one who appreciated that term.
As for the walls of text: I do my best to split them into paragraphs, but it's not always possible, and YouTube makes it additionally difficult by messing up the formatting big time (e.g. doubling the spaces between paragraphs after each edit, or removing the line breaks in copy-pasted text). YouTube comment system is simply not very suited for lengthy, substantive discussion (I even started to believe that they do what they can to hinder such discussions and only allow venting.) I'm fully aware that these days not many people are capable of reading anything longer than a tweet, so I appreciate that you do. /)
Normally when I encounter walls of text without spacing between paragraphs, I get scared off by them and skip, but yours are still worth reading through regardless of the eye strain they may cause. :)
I don't even know why but "The Pony I want to be" (Diamond Tiara's first song ) is basically my shower song I always find myself singing it in my head every now and again.
Yes when I noticed the rapid release of the next episodes I was hoping you'd make it at leas this far :) and for future reference when an episode literally starts with a song it usually means something big is gonna happen also sadly this is Diamond Tiara's last speaking role in the series
Before this episode, when it came to my top 10 most hated MLP characters, Diamond Tiara was actually on the lower half (meaning there were at least 5 characters I hated more) So "The Pony I Want to Be" along with child abuse via Spoiled Rich, made me forgive her almost instantly.
"The ground is sinking away, I'm about to fall through" is the quote that got me to tear up and truly forgive her.
It was also the moment Spoiled Rich rivaled Suri Polormare as my most despised character.
4 years ago or so before when i watched this on tv I read the synopsis and it said diamond tiara reform etc nothing about them getting cutie marks. So despite being a self spoiler i cryed so fucking hard at that time and now

Fyi: I'm responsible for your 420'th like on this video.

There's a great mashup of Diamond Tiara's song and Linkin Park you should really watch. Not necessarily do a reaction vid since it's likely to be claimed, but you're got to see it!

Compare any episode ("The Rains of Castamere" [Red Wedding]) or the entirety of any TV-show ("Breaking Bad") or any movie ("Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King") or movie franchise (MCU) to this episode alone and ask yourself: which is better? If you have to conclude that this one episode alone is better, then you must also conclude that "My Little Pony" is the best TV-show and movie franchise by quite a wide margin.
Funny coincidence: This episode, which featured Diamond Tiara vs. Pip in a race for student pony president, aired in October of 2015, just a couple of months after Donald Trump had entered the Republican party race to be their presidential nominee.
Welcome to number 3 on my favorite 10 episodes of the series. Most of the others on the list are still ahead of you. Also, season 5, as brilliant as it was, doesn't come close to touching the brilliance of seasons 7 and 9.
This episode is a big special episode because it is the fifth anniversary of the show when it aired.
Season 1 episode 1 aired on 10/10/2010
Season 5 episode 18 10/10/2015.
I'm a little salty because they didn't allow ten season on air because 10/10/2020 would have been the tenth Anniversary of the show. Some fans are still hating Hasbro for it.

But if there's many people in these comments who would suggest you shouldn't have a sad or joyful cry about this show when you genuinely feel those things... they should probably give a long look into why they would suggest such a thing.
If there's any show in the world that should deserve an honest expression of how you feel, it would be this one. So while you shouldn't feel obligated, because that would defeat the purpose... man, don't worry about how it might look to people who just don't get it.
Most of us get it.
I've watched this episode more times than I can count by myself and with many reactors. It always gets to me. And, if you think about it, it really always should, at least a little. This is one of the show's great strengths, and a magnificent thing to celebrate. It's a healthy and wonderful thing to have and express a little empathy.
Anyway, rambled on this point long enough. :) I'm still getting chills and cheers of joy from every single one of these songs.
hits play again
and... as a passing note... thanks for sharing with us.
And how about an unsung moment here? She didn't go through quite the 'transformation' as it were of her friend, but Silver Spoon deciding she'd had enough and standing up against DT. Hopefully she takes a cue from DT on being a better pony.
Also, holy hell, as several reactors and you have pointed out, this Tiara turnabout! As the Australian Bronies React team pointed out... "One song. ONE SONG. It took just one song!" I mean, exactly the right song, exactly the right tone, exactly the right animation to express remorse while being absolutely genuinely frustrated and lost....
The team on this show, top to bottom... to make THAT happen... AND to keep wraps on the CMC... AND to treat every aspect of it with immense gravity because they had to know they had only ONE SHOT ever EVER to get it right....
I stopped watching your reactions bc you were so rude to Spike who is and will always be one of my fav characters, but I'm glad I watched this one, this was awesome.

1 like@@Narrator007 Oh yes, Steven Universe starts as a silly slice of life show with lore hints here and there, then builds to something incredibly intense. And it has amazing songs. Highly recommended.
2 likesAnd that's the whole problem, because it starts out inconspicuously and harmlessly, some may even say silly, and easily dismiss it, being unaware of how it evolves with time.
4 likesThat sounds a lot like Star Vs. as well, and perhaps Steven Universe from what I've heard.

5 likesI was worried for you when you started this episode saying you needed time to recover from Brotherhooves Social, considering what I knew was coming. Everyone who watches the show through to this episode gets emotional, I did. The way they did the show, all these CMC episodes, it really felt like they were your younger siblings, and you were seeing them finally achieve their dreams.
5 likesThis episode not only was a wholesome story about Diamond Tiara's redemption, but the crusaders got their cutie marks- finding their purpose to be absolutely amazing. Of course the episode is so loved :)
2 likesThe reason why it is special is because they defeated diamond by helping her even though her bullying brought them together.

4 likesI'll be honest, I saw this episode before I was really into the series so I didn't understand the significance of them getting their marks the way they did and thought it was a cop out that their marks were being crusaders. But after watching the whole series, this episode meant so much more and I actually cried the second time I saw this. This show is so great and it's so important to see it in order. I love this ❤️

03:57 Well, she wanted her own stained glass window, that's all :J You know, like the ones in Celestia's palace ;)
05:55 Wanna control people? Make them believe that their strengths are their weaknesses :q
06:32 Buying the votes always work. That's how all socialist governments win elections.
07:34 Well, Mr. Adolf at least were keeping his promises and doing good stuff to German people :q On the other hoof, Diamond Tiara's rule didn't cost any pony's life :q (however, we don't know how it could have evolved if she were allowed to rule for some longer time...)
08:45 Ooof that was something I was waiting for so long :>
11:15 Yeah, I love everything about this song. One of the best songs in this show in my opinion. And Diamond Tiara sure can sing.
12:12 Because it's her voice actress (Claire Corlett). I heard that the voice directors wanted her to provide this particular line for Diamond Tiara, but I'm not sure why.
13:10 Her mom is coming out :J
13:42 Classic :) As they say, socialism is a great system until you run out of other people's money :) And governments don't have their own money, so... ;J
BTW "peggy bank" :) you know, because it's a Pegasus :D
15:13 I love how this song is designed. It starts with some ominous minor chords, and during their dialogue, starting from 15:15, it starts changing gradually by introducing major chords from the same minor key, until it consists of major (uplifting) chords entirely when the CMCs are starting to convince her. (It's a similar trick to the one from the final battle song in "Rainbow Rocks" :> ) And this part of the song is at the same time the reprise in Diamond Tiara's reformation song at the end, which shows how much her change has been influenced by the CMCs :)
17:32 Well, it is a talent all right. The problem is, it can be used for good as well as for bad.
18:48 Mending your fences there, eh? ;)
19:30 Feels bomb ensues in 3...2...1.... ;>
21:57 Hah, tell me'bout it! We've been waiting for this to happen for FIVE YEARS :D And yet it hit us unexpected :J
22:02 Hahah when you think that was the last punch, but here comes the next one :D
23:28 Yeah, the writers did a very good job in setting this up :) Especially Amy Keating Rogers who wrote this episode :J They knew that once they'll start fiddling with the subject of cutie marks with Starlight in the season premiere, many fans might start suspecting something. And to top that, they covered it all with Diamond Tiara's issues and redemption, which was a big emotional event in itself, so after that almost no one was expecting anymore that something else might happen :J And then BAM! out of the blue, they get their cutie marks :) MULTICOMBO :)
And there couldn't be any more perfect way to close the CMCs' character arc than connecting it with Diamond Tiara's reformation, when you look at it: it all started with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon teasing them in "Call Of The Cutie", when the CMCs first met (well, they met as early as in episode 1, but they didn't know about it yet) and started their club. :>
24:24 It's kinda like being a parent and watching your kids grow and seeing them achieve something great in their lives, like graduating, or getting married, isn't it? :)
There's a mashup of people's reactions to this episode, kinda like the Bronies React, but with some less horse-famous reacters. AAAAA!" :D
25:30 That also makes much sense, if you think of it ;) And it's the second time we know of where a group of ponies gets their cutie marks together at the same time ;> Remember how the mane six got theirs, and how that established their special connection before they even met each other? ;> ("Cutie Mark Chronicles") Now the same happens to the CMCs. There's definitely something important about that ;)
26:40 Yup, there definitely is.

"Wanna control people? Make them believe that their strengths are their weaknesses." - A magical talking pony, 2019
(Look also at what Starlight Glimmer did with all the ponies in her village in order to get her power, and what pretty much every government does with citizens.)
1 likeI noticed that pattern long time ago after I had a dream in which an old witch tried to enchant me by describing me as ugly, and by reframing my strengths as weaknesses, in order to control me.
YouTube comment system is simply not very suited for lengthy, substantive discussion (I even started to believe that they do what they can to hinder such discussions and only allow venting.)
I'm fully aware that these days not many people are capable of reading anything longer than a tweet, so I appreciate that you do. /)
5:55 That quote sounds so profound, but I don't think I've heard it before.
0 likesCould you please tell me where that came from?
27:27 Harmony Brony? I like that term!
Normally when I encounter walls of text without spacing between paragraphs, I get scared off by them and skip, but yours are still worth reading through regardless of the eye strain they may cause. :)

Okay, to be clear, I doubt anyone would be much bothered if you don't get teary or whatever, because it's clear you actually care about this world and its characters and their trials and so on.

My face hurts from grinning watching this react.
0 likesAnd how about an unsung moment here? She didn't go through quite the 'transformation' as it were of her friend, but Silver Spoon deciding she'd had enough and standing up against DT. Hopefully she takes a cue from DT on being a better pony.
0 likesJust watched it again. SQUEE So awesome. :)
0 likesAlso, holy hell, as several reactors and you have pointed out, this Tiara turnabout! As the Australian Bronies React team pointed out... "One song. ONE SONG. It took just one song!" I mean, exactly the right song, exactly the right tone, exactly the right animation to express remorse while being absolutely genuinely frustrated and lost....
0 likesThe team on this show, top to bottom... to make THAT happen... AND to keep wraps on the CMC... AND to treat every aspect of it with immense gravity because they had to know they had only ONE SHOT ever EVER to get it right....
Just damn.
I stopped watching your reactions bc you were so rude to Spike who is and will always be one of my fav characters, but I'm glad I watched this one, this was awesome.

@@winter2716 thank you. You also got to agree with the fact featherweight taking a picture of diamond tiara blackmailing the CMC and doing nothing about it the fact that no one not a single person has ever brought it up is complete bull
0 likes@@stormshadowproductions1660 I actually used to be on the Diamond Tiara hate train a while ago. However, that was back when I was a dumb teenager (14 or 15); now that I’m 20, I see how ridiculous I was to hate on her so much. Now all my hatred is directed solely towards Spoiled Rich.
0 likes@@winter2716 actually for me this is one in particular. The fact that people still hate diamond tiara because of all the quote on quote terrible things she did to the CMC. That is a load of bull, the only thing she really did was tease them yes there was the blackmailing in ponyville confidential but then again featherweight took a picture of her doing that and did literally nothing about it and no one not one single person brings it up. Seriously she's only 10 years old and if you grew up by the way she grew up you would end up the exact same way but no she's the worst character in MLP history give me a break that honor belongs to fluttershy's so-called brother
