Recorded in 1976, just as the progressive rock era reached its peak, it never received the attention it was supposed to deserve from fans of Amazing Blondel, Strawbs, Jethro Tullili Fairport Convention. The quiet, elegantly coordinated vocals and intertwined acoustic guitars that run through this record, adorned with flute, spa, koto and sitri, among other instruments, are not only obsessively beautiful, but also memorable in a way that many louder bands have never quite achieved. The lyrics just pour out of the performance and music, and this trio ties their folk preferences to elements of Orientalism and other exotic attributes. Listening to this album (which was re-released on CD in the 1990s) today, while enjoying the music, one has to pass the sad thought that this group never released another album. If there was ever one failed prog rock band that deserved better, that was it.
