The thing about this song is it's almost more of a hero or a battle against a great warrior than against a villain. I like that about the original, and this one as well. Like this music would as well fit a Viking war hero's final battle or a main character heroic sacrifice just as easily as a boss theme.
Here's a tip: If two channels are ever going to overlap on the same pitch, detune one of them (for example if you're using Famitracker, put P81 on one of them). It'll make them phase in and out rather than combining into an indistinguishable single note and it sounds a lot cooler ^^
@Patashu yes. There is a lot of overlapping registers with the same samples and it sounds muddy at times and grating at others. It's a great arrangement but could benefit from more diverse orchestration
@***** well to be fair Retti is a very complex song as far as the Primal themes go. Patterns aren't too bad but there are many similar tones between the vocals and track.
you know, i didnt notice it until the end, but from 2:51, that is actually pillaged from the dragons dogma eternal cycle song at 2:00 for part of it, and the next part a bit later in the song
