Pretty damn scary that this could happen to anyone, hope youtube sorts this out for you and hopefully learns to have the decency to not use automated systems for everything their creators need.
We all know that Youtube & Google isn't going to use manual means of moderation. Profit is the primary (and probably only) reason why their blood has rushed into their crotch, and the only time this isn't the case is when they have a platform-threatening situation that includes their profit.
YouTube is a hellish dystopian city where you (your content/channel) can be ended anywhere anytime thanks to to the lingering malignant entities in the alleyways (false reports). You try to call the emergency services for help but they just keep saying that help will arrive soon. They have dispatched units. It’ll take 11 hours for them to arrive, there’s no chance of expediting anything. Meanwhile the malignant entity that jumped from the shadows continues to shank & drink your blood while you lay around helplessly.
No one wants to migrate from this dystopia to alternative, better , nicer , matured communities because while YT is hellish & any day can be your last day people still want to live there because it has neon lights, smooth public transportation system. Doesn’t matter that your neighbors disappear suddenly, you love that smooth interface thus wouldn’t migrate to rumble or similar. 💀
I actually had that happen to my channel on February 2022, when I hadn't even uploaded a single video! After some spam appeals, YouTube told me that I was terminated by mistake and I had my channel back.
Yeah "hope" is really working out when YouTube clearly doesn't care for creators who don't profit them. In fact, they may be glad that small creators are eliminated so that they don't have to pay them.
YT has relied way too much on automated systems that falsely flag and take down content since like 2015. I'm not surprised that this is still a problem, but it really needs to be fixed, probably by having more actual humans doing the task instead of a buggy system.
i use it all the time (on the super weird inappropriate shorts) youtube then sends an email if its gotten removed, you can also see your past report history.
It dose not work when there are children being abused (most “life blogging, with my kids” Chanel’s) or scams but when it is a person who, idk exist and makes the ceo more rich naw bring out the amarican shotguns.
@@helenos_152 Actual report moderation is very poor, the only way I imagine it (which almost certainly isn't the case) is the moderation bot they use mixed up right and wrong and they just never bothered to fix it.
The button seems to do the opposite of what it should, you falsely report a video and it gets taken down, you report a video that actually goes against the guidelines and it gets dismissed
i have reported many, many, actually BAD things, and i mean, they probably wouldn't even have a 18+ restriction, probably a 25+ restriction if the people on youtube actually used their brain, and so far my reports have done literally nothing at all. no age restrictions, not taken down, nothing at all.
I've seen """a few""" mixed themes on the report list and, thankfully they've been taken down. They were unacceptable for the community standards, but this example is clearly just unfair.
You don't get its functionality. It cherry picks and exaggerates minor details that minimally breaks the rules in some accounts but does nothing in accounts that actually break the rules.

They just don't care. That's the main reason I stopped uploading. And it makes me very sad, because the only way this gets fixed is by going to another video hosting platform.

Your videos are informative and extremely entertaining, and you should take full credit for bringing Windows and tech related content to such a big audience while keeping it interesting because it's no easy feat. Your video production quality, attention to detail, witty jokes and knowledge of the topics you engage with really sets you apart from any similar channels on the platform. The loss of this channel would be such a hard-hitter, not only because it would be completely unfair and unprovoked, but also because all of your viewers would lose such an amazing window to great and valuable content from someone who cares possibly forever. Just know we're always here to support and appreciate you, and I sincerely hope you'll make it out of the gutter YouTube has pushed you into unscathed and that you'll recover all of your removed videos ❤
Same, now I sometimes teach my computer class (with the teacher's permissions lmao) I got interested and now I could fix Windows installations by myself.
I sometimes feel like that YouTube only supports the content that makes them money, not good educational content teaching people about tech, algorithms, etc. And Andrew, thank you so much for making me interested in computers and tech when I younger and I will be there for you through this whole thing with YouTube.

Edit: I want to also add that in general, any social place is supposed to punish false reports with human mods. They in fact do use AI very often, the reason is unknown, however maybe their support team was crowdsourced, I do not know for sure though. Shame that so many platforms have fallen so low. It's already the case on a bunch of platforms. Abusing of the report feature is a VERY quick way to ip ban someone off Reddit, because there are no humans behind verifying the reports' authenticity. I kinda expected YouTube (aka Google) to be a bit better, but honestly report spam is just the "current meta"

I had a piano accompanist that was Russian and he recorded an unlisted video for my Abrsm grade 4, and that was taken down for “Harassment and Bullying” for no reason. I think Youtube is extremely f***ing racist with its moderation systems and that they need to do something about it. They are losing a lot of good YouTubers probably because of this

I see you are already on Odysee. My suggestion would be to always insert a big push to your Odysee channel in all of your videos so everyone knows where to go when YouTube makes the wrong decision.
I’m only more surprised by the fact the report button does something… YouTube live chat is entirely a brick wall which is insane as it’s only for YouTube Partners. They have entirely outsourced it to the Philippines by TaskUS. They told me to contact the hijacker after one of my other channel was hacked.

Everything in 2019: All peaceful, not much drama on youTube, pretty much all calm everywhere Everything now: Some toddlers hijacked the youtube headquarters and the underpaid security gave up, google is going all in with the bad domains and Microsoft is taking massive Ls and a new email spoofing system was found out and smaller companies like Odysee... are the only ones not taking Ls. Meanwhile many creators are suffering from youtube really messing up...

Dear Enderman, I've been interested in technology since childhood and watching your videos inspired me to make content on it. I really love your content and I hope YouTube realises that people misuse the report tool and also their automated moderation systems is pretty unstable which results in termination of innocent people off YouTube. You've put a lot of effort into your videos, unlike others. It's ridiculous how kids on YouTube go ahead and falsely report innocent people and they'd accept it.
3:19 I used to be in the community where Bob Pony was still a low subscriber channel, and whenever we got to work on virtual machines and messing around with various stuff, we quickly made him the guy that does use old tech for some wacky stuff!

my channel got terminated a few months ago because i got hacked and the hacker uploaded videos of how to download bandicam crack. And i got a message that my channel got terminated im using my old account. Hope you dont get terminated
I remember something very similar happened to allan a few years ago, his channel was falsely striked 3 times and was taken down but he managed to get his channel back. i thought the strike system was improved but no it wasn't
Really hope this gets sorted out. Your videos have legit taught me valuable stuff about how operating systems and file structures work, and it's presented in a really fun unique way. It'd be a real loss if it were to get taken down.

Your content has been amazing and what YouTube is doing is unjustified and they could learn something by listening to you verses ruining my favorite YouTuber's channel because some random false claim. This reminds me of the situation with MicrowaveMeShow. Trolls mass reported his videos until his channel got terminated. It's back now, but only after almost a year of it being missing. Sad that history is repeating itself.
I hope you are able to recover your channel from the grasps of youtubes non-flawless security system, the people who decided that they are going to dedicate a lot of time in their life to try to take you down (mass reporters), and YouTube having a confusing and unefficient recovery system. I will be looking forward for your next videos (depending if your going to risk uploading a video, especially in the current state of the channel now), especially the ones reviewing Viruses. It is so interesting on how a list of code, way smaller then the average video game's code, could screw up Windows, MacOS, or even Linux (at some moments) so badly... I would prefer to stay away from Virus development, but it could be used in an interesting way if it isn't used for harmful reasons

It amazes me how clips with full-on nudity on 90% of the time get age-restricted but Windows activated with ChatGPT is a full-om removal + strike. Same thing as saying that a person stabbing someone is not a crime but that same someone running over someone else is a life-long prison sentence.

so I have an unconfirmed way to remove strikes, again I could be entirely lying and just got off easily but from my personal experience this only worked once (mind you I only tried it once out of the 2 warnings I got). asking youtube to age restrict your video in your appeal for me re-instated the video with an active age restriction. this is only useful for people who use youtube casually and not for actual content creators and it's not confirmed that it works because I only did it once and youtube seemed confused on why they removed my video in the first place but it's worth a try for anyone that doesn't care much or isn't getting harassed by youtube.

Hello Enderman, ive been watching you for a year (i think), your content is entertaining and it would be a shame to see your content disappear from youtube. Honestly im surprised that the report button works. In the wrong way. There's probably NSFW content on youtube, but apparently your content breaks the guidelines while the NSFW content does not. Remember that you got the italian community with you, hell, there was a whole article talking about you activating windows XP via phone! Hope this gets sorted up.
This issue isn't new (it's there since years) and affected Tech YouTubers in other languages as well such as SempeVideo and had their channel terminated... Until people were mad on Twitter on YouTube for that
this is the moment where a YouTube competitior needs to rise up like Kick is doing to Twitch
Another option is for you to create another channel when it comes to sensitive videos, this way you can announce the video on the main channel and use the second one as the uploader, its bad for your channel growth but its an option

I actually talked about my report on an inappropriate video with youtube on Twitter , and they said “we will take care of this 🤓” but in reality, nothing happened.
So I work on DxWnd and dgVoodoo2 and managed to fix Prince of Persia 3D and Mortal Kombat 4 with it, and after a year, youtube closes them down for "dangerous activity". I mean how's fixing things dangerous and that coming after over an year baffles me.
At least on a lighter note, the appeal for "activating windows 11 with chatgpt" being approved where "activating windows 98 with chatgpt" was denied is maybe the funniest possible outcome. Very hypocritical on Youtube's end.
I have very similar experiences with youtube, had a tech channel with about 1k subs, first thing that happened was just removal of a link to download memz, first warning was removal of that memz video, and from there it went downhill, random takedowns of videos (i appealed all) and after i got 3 strikes, channel got deleted. i had another channel about minecraft with 4k subs when i was younger, they falsely took down one video and i guess when that happens the bots decide to take down other videos too and in the end the channel got deleted too (i appealed all videos too)
the best thing you can do is create a torrent backup of the videos. all the people that have a copy of the videos will be seeding it for the rest of the community.
Bro my shorts are filled with thirst traps for no reason (im not interested into it but youtube really likes to recommend them to me) and I report every single one. Its like a 7/10 success rate
I think that, just in case, you should backup your videos on a second backup channel, so that in case you do sadly get terminated (Which I really hope you don’t, you make really good and informative videos related to windows and such) people can still watch your videos and still learn from your videos
i am genuinely really confused as to how youtube could respond to someone reporting a video in 2 seconds incorrectly while all the fucking 18+ comment bots that genuinely need to be taken down take years to be removed

I think what’s happening is that YouTube just looks at the title, sees that it looks like it violates the guidelines, and the algorithm goes: “Hmm, welp, DESTROY IT!” At least, that’s what I think.

The report button needs to be removed & banned from YouTube entirely! The only way a YouTube video should be removed from the platform is by people making a fuss on social media specifying the video title. That way it’s a whole lot harder to get a video illegally removed by report abusers.

Adding the ability to let users report ANYONE AT ALL was the dumbest decision of all time. If a video gets enough reports a human should then review the video to make sure that people aren't being dickheads.

i was chilling and suddenly an exploiter joined (not so rare happens all the time) so i started kindly (no swearing etc) taunting it the hacker got so pissed it mass reported my messages and got me banned for a day as a result an exploiter, got me banned, and the exploiter was completely fine yea i was really confused but things are sorted out now

I've been a fan for years now, so I have some advice. Maybe try creating a different channel to upload the videos you think would get taken down there, since it looks like youtube is only after your main channel at the moment.

Hey, endermanch must be hard and fun fact one of my speedruns was almost taken down, thankfully I was able to fight it thanks to the false name (it was one of my Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit speedruns) it sucks and worst part is I'm not even that old to be dealing with legal shit. All I want to do is speedrun for my favourite games. I have since moved on from STT 16-bit and am now speedrunning Super Paper Roblox any% thanks to these shenanigans. I also want to point out that YouTube let's the bigger channels get away with whatever bull crap they have but smaller innocent YouTubers get targeted and it is God damn annoying.

I have the solution for this. Get a good lawyer that has worked with this kind of stuff before and sue the shit out of the people false striking you. Submitting a copyright strike is submitting a complete and valid legal takedown request.

I do hope you've moved everything else to a completely separate Google Account, but especially your email and everything that points to it... because at this point, you have confirmation someone with inside connections (probably) is gunning for you, and "depending on the context of the strikes", losing your Youtube account will also have them take down your Google Account (for example, copyright strikes by Disney will always make you lose your entire account, not just the youtube part)... and it wouldn't surprise me if they're gonna pull that here.

To be honest, its not only YouTube, the whole Google is screwed up. The way the system is. Same goes for app developers, if they take things down, for some reason when the creator appeals, they say "our choice is final" this happened on Google Adsense for instance. Was taken down (not for abuse) as you know, clicking on your ads and so forth is against the rule which was not the case for me. But people clicking from another country, that was enough to stop the ads and business relations.
Youtube was originally meant to a platform to share passion, knowledge, and content, but now i think it's just a money machine where ipad kids do dumb stuff like reporting channels for no reasons. I hope you will win your case, good luck.

sadly this is just one of those issues that has existed for years and still has no solution... anyone can falsely report videos with no consequences to them just the creator. But in the end, Youtube still made its ad money so, who cares about the rest.
Can confirm, YouTube's automation system is run by 1 IQ lizards who take jokes, let alone profanity of any matter, very seriously. It's so bad enough that they let NSFW content slide. I'm being serious; NSFW content in my Shorts feed. I once found a video promoting some obscure adult site. Who knows if that video still exists. Probably not, which I hope. Seeing that video on a platform that plans to "make it more kid-friendly" proves to me that YouTube isn't doing their job correctly.

About being next, I once got a copyright claim because of a song (Can't Let Go by DJVI), but it's the only thing harmful that happened to my channel (but I got something from commenting that threatened me to not be able to comment). The rest are just some harmless copyright claims (yes, those exist i think).
I've always loved your content ever since 2018, and I let it stay that way because I love tech content in general. YouTube is just too rough with copyright than it should be... Also I have a suspect Microsoft is also involved in this, I just have it.

So many bad channels promoting dangerous/fake/misleading stuff, and they are still kicking around, while good informative channels are being shutted down, i remember one youtuber having two channels, and youtube wanted to close one of the channels accusing him from plagiarism while he was saying and proving to them that both channels are from the same person......

I showed TeamYouTube screenshots of the following: - A person doxxing somebody in their community tab - A person being openly racist to a asian women because they "sing badly" (the video is still up) - A person harassing me in their community tab.

There will always be report abusers. There always had been, before. And still, YouTube does nothing about it. They let a stupid bot rule instead of letting some humans treat videos.

It honestly sucks that people can get what they want by simply getting the video reported many times before YouTube just takes down the video thinking that it did something wrong due to all the reports on it. The fact that YouTube even commented on some of your video's saying that they would "handle" the problem just to yet again take down your video again is insane. At this point trying to get help from YouTube is pretty much impossible unless someone more recognizable decides to spread word about you that YouTube finally decides to finally fix the strikes on your channel.

I absolutely discourage being on Twitter since it puts you at a greater risk of being hacked (You remember Apple's twitter account got hacked by a scammer who stole people's money using bitcoin). And canceling groups are very common on the platform so you can get canceled way quicker than on youtube.

Even as 14 as I am, I got enough beef with YouTube for the well known incident through small creators, mass report bots. For this YouTube took down my entire channel (not this one), and I had to explain all shit for 6 months, just to not get it back(the fact that I was Romanian, Balkanic in more sense, probably made it worse). I was 10-11 back then, so I simply just, after 6 months, let the channel die and that's it... YouTube support barely cares or does something...And let's say I was a small creator, under 100 subs, but someone with experience and FREAKING 300k subs...now that's where they show their total uncare about EVERY SINGLE CREATOR. except the yknow who...

It's another video streaming service with little to no restrictions. I say this because I know your content is good enough to go to service to watch and if YouTube wants to ban you it will be worse for them if they do because all of the people that could be on YouTube are on odysee watching your videos. I hate to tell you; Saying something is not promoting piracy and then showing how to do it is STILL promoting piracy. Doesn't matter what you say at the beginning of the video OR in the description. Even then the website you so often put in your description of your videos DIRECTLY distributes pirated software, last time I checked (ex: VMware Workstation). If you're gonna act COMPLETELY innocent, at least make sure you're actually innocent of what you're claiming to be innocent of. Note: I'm not trying to rally harassment. Being a content creator on Youtube is a little bit like being a random character in the bible. There is this omniscient overlord which imposes rules on you and will act on them in the most incoherent way possible and just delete everything it doesn't like similar to an omnipotent petulent baby toddler god. This holds true for both the god being described in the bible and Youtubes rules, administration and algorithms.

Not saying you uploaded the video with any ill intent but i still feel like... While the video doesn't promote piracy it does still show people how to do it which isn't really okay either.
That's kind of like recording a video on how you make cocaine from watermelons and then saying "don't try this at home" Just to give an extreme example. You still showed people how to do something illegal in the case of the example and the video should certainly be removed.
Likewise with your chatgpt Windows 11 video even if you don't intend for people to use your video to illegally pirate Windows 11, people are still bound to do it. I'd advise to simply blur your chat messages with chatgpt so people will have a much harder time recreating it.

The children are taking this “prank” a bit too far, this isn’t funny. They need to fix the report system so that it will decline any dumb reason to give the channel a strike. YouTube, you better write this down, we need to save this channel before the children get their victory and possibly start targeting other channels, whether it’s popular or not (and that could be a problem for me!).
I've dealt with this before like in my other channel got banned for the same reason kids spam reported it for what for no reason and i didn't even uploaded something harfull only gaming vids with funny edits is just a meh and thier support sucks. In what world is this not defamation? It even comes with a list of demonstrable harm. They are labeling you as "dangerous or harmful." This demonstrates that they are just moving forward with ruining your name without providing 1 solid reason because they don't have evidence. I Cannot accept over the fact that YouTube is a multi billion dollar company, yet they still treat their creators like animals. If you report a video like this it gets taken down very quickly, but on yt shorts there are a lot of vidoes showing so called links to "content" if you know what i mean and those arent reported as much or something? I actually had that happen to my channel on February 2022, when I hadn't even uploaded a single video! After some spam appeals, YouTube told me that I was terminated by mistake and I had my channel back.

I will be looking forward for your next videos (depending if your going to risk uploading a video, especially in the current state of the channel now), especially the ones reviewing Viruses. It is so interesting on how a list of code, way smaller then the average video game's code, could screw up Windows, MacOS, or even Linux (at some moments) so badly... I would prefer to stay away from Virus development, but it could be used in an interesting way if it isn't used for harmful reasons

1 likeso I have an unconfirmed way to remove strikes, again I could be entirely lying and just got off easily but from my personal experience this only worked once (mind you I only tried it once out of the 2 warnings I got). asking youtube to age restrict your video in your appeal for me re-instated the video with an active age restriction. this is only useful for people who use youtube casually and not for actual content creators and it's not confirmed that it works because I only did it once and youtube seemed confused on why they removed my video in the first place but it's worth a try for anyone that doesn't care much or isn't getting harassed by youtube.

1 likeI have very similar experiences with youtube, had a tech channel with about 1k subs, first thing that happened was just removal of a link to download memz, first warning was removal of that memz video, and from there it went downhill, random takedowns of videos (i appealed all) and after i got 3 strikes, channel got deleted. i had another channel about minecraft with 4k subs when i was younger, they falsely took down one video and i guess when that happens the bots decide to take down other videos too and in the end the channel got deleted too (i appealed all videos too)

1 likeThe report button needs to be removed & banned from YouTube entirely! The only way a YouTube video should be removed from the platform is by people making a fuss on social media specifying the video title. That way it’s a whole lot harder to get a video illegally removed by report abusers.

0 likesHey, endermanch must be hard and fun fact one of my speedruns was almost taken down, thankfully I was able to fight it thanks to the false name (it was one of my Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit speedruns) it sucks and worst part is I'm not even that old to be dealing with legal shit. appeals, they say "our choice is final" this happened on Google Adsense for instance. Was
taken down (not for abuse) as you know, clicking on your ads and so forth is against the rule
which was not the case for me. But people clicking from another country, that was enough
to stop the ads and business relations.
Youtube was originally meant to a platform to share passion, knowledge, and content, but now i think it's just a money machine where ipad kids do dumb stuff like reporting channels for no reasons. I hope you will win your case, good luck.

The fact that YouTube even commented on some of your video's saying that they would "handle" the problem just to yet again take down your video again is insane. At this point trying to get help from YouTube is pretty much impossible unless someone more recognizable decides to spread word about you that YouTube finally decides to finally fix the strikes on your channel.

Doesn't matter what you say at the beginning of the video OR in the description. Even then the website you so often put in your description of your videos DIRECTLY distributes pirated software, last time I checked (ex: VMware Workstation). If you're gonna act COMPLETELY innocent, at least make sure you're actually innocent of what you're claiming to be innocent of.

Honestly, if he's getting targeted, his best course of action would be to backup everything on a backup channel, on a different platform, such as odysee or rumble.

6 likesEdit: people that spam report really shouldn’t be allowed on the internet, it’s disgusting behaviour. AND YouTube should always review reports and not rely on ai, like a forwarding system thats like the AI sends a report to YouTube staff, so this never happens again.
