For those who have not heard this masterpiece of prog literature, you missed it. "Remember The Future" is built around two epic space songs as NECTAR takes you to a new world. The vocal harmonies and medleyes here are particularly strong and are well embedded in the songs. I love part 1 and part 2 and I just wish there was a second album because this is just too perfect to really stop! Some people have made noise about poor sound quality on this CD transmission, but that sounds just fine to me and offers very good audio playback. NEKTAR's musical prowess is again very high on this release, and playing guitar and bass is very memorable,,,Ma no! Peter Rideout and I TOTALLY AGREE! Remember the Future - and two sequels, Down to Earth and Recycled - are absolutely essential prog-rock albums. "Future" can be loosely defined as a "conceptual" album, and its two side-long tracks are among the most creative and "accessible" in prog-rock. Heavy on "psychedelia," Future retains his initial brilliance even after more listening. LADISLAV&Z...

To The Center Of The Eye.

People unfamiliar with the band Nectar think they're from Germany. What actually happened was that a quartet of Englishmen met in Germany in 1969 and formed a band. Ron Howden (drums, percussion), Derek "Mo" Moore (bass, vocals), Alan "Taff" Freeman (keyboards, vocals) and Roye Albrighton (guitar, lead vocalist) would become huge in Germany and almost smash the big ones in the US.
Eclectic Discs/Dream Nebula Recordings have re-released four acclaimed albums that defined the band's career. "A Tab In The Ocean," Journey To The Center Of The Eye, "Remember The Future" and "Recycled" are lovingly remastered with detailed notes for former fans and newly indoctrinated to enjoy. Their well-known masterpiece "Remember The Future" was appropriately selected for the SACD format, as well as for Journey To The Center Of The Eye.

Their sound was a progressive-psychedelic mixture of rocks that was way ahead of its time. For this listener, this was a wonderful new listening experience. Before receiving these CDs, I didn't hear any nectar music other than the "Remember The Future" video on the DVD compilation. Now I can understand what was talked about reforming the band and going on tour.

Roy Albrighton was the driving force behind this band. His skillful guitar playing set the table for his bandmates. Each recording was outstanding and stands as evidence of their importance to the history of prog-rock music. What made this so interesting was how the label broke each album into two parts, the original recordings compared to the newly renovated versions. Now for the first time you can hear the concise differences between the two formats. Both versions are excellent and it was a treat to get the best of both worlds.

Every prog-rock listener will surely enjoy this musical paradise in more than once, and I've listened to every CD four times myself and I know there's going to be a lot more spins of every CD down the road. I look forward to catching Nectar 2004 this year on my way to reliving all these great songs in a lively environment. I never would have decided to see them at the concert if it wasn't for this remastered show.

"Remember The Future" izgrađen je oko 2 epske svemirske pjesme dok vas NEKTAR vodi u novi svijet. Peter Rideout i ja SE POTPUNO SLAŽEMO! Remember the Future - i dva nastavka, Down to Earth i Recycled - apsolutno su bitni prog-rock albumi.
