The tragedy here is Wallflower Blush's problem is entirely self-inflicted. She erases every interaction she has with people, and then gets mad when people don't remember her. She does it during the intro song, when she was "trying to get your attention for like, half the song", but no one remembers her doing so because interrupting the song would have been awkward so she goes for a re-try when they finish.
Her invisibility is due to her abuse of power, and her abuse of power is due to her invisibility.
Meta-wise, she is mad that she's a background character with no importance except in filling out a scene... So take note when she appears in future, so she won't be sad.
Seeing Twilight that happy (in the library) just makes my heart sing. And the Celestia/Sunset reconciliation brought a tear. Sunset losing her friends at the start, and losing everything near the end was just heartwrenching. <3 for these worlds.
I’m so glad this special focused on a particular matter that the fandom has waited so long for, Sunset and Celestia’s reunion. I remember seeing a heartfelt comic based on this scene (which was made long before this special), and I, among other fans wanted this reunion to take place at some point. I couldn’t be happier with the canonized result of this reunion though.
40:52 Remember there's Equestrian Magic resides in the EQ universe, magic that can be enhanced by the power of friendship. Once Trixie gained the friendship of Sunset, her actual magic grew.
If you've noticed, the same thing has been happening with Trixie's magic in the MLP universe as her friendship has grown with Starlight. Starlight helping her learn magic can only go so far, but their friendship is what truly helps. (Like in the Season 5 Premiere, when Starlight couldn't believe a spell she studied for years wasn't powerful enough to defeat the Mane 6, and Twilight saying she knew the spell too, but her friendship is what helps her magic become stronger.)
I feel really sorry for Wallflower. What she did was terrible, but I think she must have gone through some pretty horrible things in her past to have become so reclusive and unsure of herself that she never even attempted to make new friends herself.
Except it's most likely her own fault... She straight up admits to erasing pretty much anything that COULD start a friendship :/ She erases people's memories of her because she thinks it's awkward... and then gets angry that no one remembers her name or notices her, when she's been CONSTANTLY removing people's memories of her actions.
Then there's the fact that she tries to justify taking everyone's good memories of Sunset ''because she hasn't changed'' except that's a false statement... since there WERE good memories of Sunset for her to remove in the first place! Only Wallflower thought Sunset hadn't changed, and it was most likely because Wallflower never actually allowed Sunset to get to know her since she found things awkward and ended up erasing them.
And here we have it, the best EqG-related thing of all time! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some of the later specials too, but it's hard to top this one. Sunset reuniting with Princess Celestia, human Trixie finally showing her good side, pony Twilight being at her most adorkable, characters lampshading the songs, and don't even get me started on "Invisible" - it's hard to believe you can fit that much awesomeness in mere 40 minutes!
8:48 If you look closely you can see that the animators did put actual different shades of white on the towels. Because white does have different shades.
I imagine there might be human magic in this world, Trixie's just not very good at it. They specify 'EQUESTRIAN Magic' when talking about stuff from pony world, but that means there could be human magic, even if it's rare and noone knows about it.
Fun fact - if you look closely at 14:18, you can see Sandbar (so this was technically his first appearance, since this came out just a week or two before the season 8 premiere)
Other then a few problems(like doesn't they took pictures together with sunset, videos etc on their phones and everywhere?) it was a very good special. Trixie in EG is friends with sunset and in the pony world is friends with starlight. Good job trixie

@@nic558 Yes really, what she did to Sunset was pathetic, it's not about her personality, I talk with girls like her despite the fact that I am totally different than her, people who let jealousy take control are pathetic and Wallflower was jealous about Sunset. I am like Sunset in school. I am popular, everyone know me and one day everyone would forget me just because some girl was jealous about me? I would not forgive her.
@@Icy-be5vl she reminds me of my youngest sibling. As the oldest I’ve felt invisible too but nothing compared to my youngest sibling & Wallflower… I’m a Wallflower apologist anyone who hates her it’s on sight
I know Celestia initial reaction was probably done purposely for tension's sake but surprised Luna had the same look. Was expecting a more nervous look kind of her constantly looking between Celestia and Sunset. I always wanted to jump in and say show of hooves who in this room has betrayed Celestia in the past? I'm expecting to see 2.
Don't forget to watch the many shorts. Some of the have certain scenes that you will definitely appreciate, while others tie into the continuity of upcoming specials.
I love how many mannerisms Sunset picked up during her time in the human realm to where she’s more comfortable walking on 2 hooves than sitting or standing on 4. I wish we’d gotten to see if she originally had a human counterpart, and if so what happened to her.
Twilight spazzing out over unread books in the "Restricted Section" (and that does indeed scream Harry Potter) and fangirling over other unread volumes? Granny Smith voice!
Ah, good, the version you watched is mostly uncut - it appears whoever made it took the parts that were uploaded to YouTube (on Hasbro’s official Equestria Girls channel) and cut them together by cutting out the title cards, To Be Continued... cards, and credits (at least in the middle).
I bring this up because the version that aired on Discovery Family had to have some scenes cut to fit in the 44-minute allotted runtime - and while it was just some minor stuff (such as Sunset reacting to pony Flash Sentry or Sunset and Celestia attempting to use the broken catalogue), it was still annoying. All the EG specials after this one, however, were made to fit into their time slot on DF, and so they don’t feature any cuts (aside from the title cards and such).
Come to think of it, this special is more like the movies in that way (because all 4 movies featured some cuts when they ended up airing on Discovery Family).
Honestly Susnet's house is broke person chic, I go go on for ages about all the details. The broken alarm clock, the entertainment system held up by cinder blocks, her little 'couch' seems like the backseat of a car, van or bus. It also looks like someone sliced a factory into sections and turned the last section into a house. There's only one big room and a bathroom with exposed piping, and the bed is on a partial scaffolding second floor.
twist58 I headcanon she brought bits back from Equestria. Since gems seem common and used as currency there, id imagine that bits are gold coins. A small bag of could easily net Sunset a nice place.
Wow I was just thinking that there was some EqG thing you haven't reacted to yet where Sunset reconciles with Celestia, but ironically enough, I couldn't remember which one it was
This special is really great, and it has a great villain, too. Wallflower may not be powerful (in the shooting lasers sense, anyway), but she is worse than all other villains to date. So, she is entiteled to destroy the life of Sunset for not being nice enough after making Sunset forget she even existed? And even if Sunset (or anyone for that matter) did remember her and just didn´t actively engage Wallflower? So what? I guess Millennials have other ideas, but here is a reality check: You are not entiteled to having friends or being noticed unless you work for it. And yes: If you are shy and introverted, you have to work exponentially harder. Believe me, i know! The way i see it, Canterlot High can be glad Wallflower found the stone. Otherwise she would have found the gun-section at Wallmart by now. That girl doesn´t need friends or a singned yearbook, she needs medication and counseling. and lots of it. Yea, Wallflower Blush: Definitely my most disliked villain in the entire show, and that includes EQG and FIM!
FYI, the intro and the first song of Forgotten Friendship are the last songs Daniel Ingram did for EQG, aside from the intro, future songs of EQG are not done by him, but he still does the songs for FIM.
