I'm a guy and the skin around my nose always gets really irritated and red and looks horrible, but I've always just kinda shrugged it off. a couple of weeks ago I was messing around with make up for a show I'm doing and even after putting on just foundation I was like "wow I totally get why so many people do this" I looked instantly better. I don't use make up at all except for the show, mostly because I'm lazy but I see how much of a confidence boost it can be

(Hi Ik I'm late) there are some makeup brands made specially for irritated skin. Also, if you're covering a red spot, put on green concealer under the foundation. It cancels out the red and creates a natural skin tone instead of a just a little less red than before

I love your makeup! I kinda suck at eyeshadow, but yours looks really good! I would get the winged look by coming back with the foundation/powder that I have at an angle. It would make a clean line and look super cool. A friend of mine also told me to put tape at an angle where you want the wing to be and then put on the eye shadow. :)

To keep the sides of your nose going "crusty" (I feel you girl, so many acne scars on sides of my nose) but if you use a hydrating oil free face gel (I just use a cheap one from boots) and a good setting spray (and don't hold back around the nose area, like soak it!) I find the make-up lasts way longer around there and doesn't look as shit when it starts to come off! You're so beautiful anyway though, I love your freckles so so so much I'm hella jealous
Do you mind if I ask which face gel you use from boots? I adore wearing make up, and do most days, but the gradual crusty nose dampens how good I feel with it all on.
I used to get a crusty nose everyday, and really badly, but I started putting on a bit of Dream Cream from lush at night at in the morning and its honestly changed my life! Its the best thing ive found for dry skin, especially if you have psoriasis or eczema
Sarah I literally use the cheapest one I can find but it's the Johnson & Johnson clean & clear gentle hydrating wash (It's for young kids but my 18 y/o acne prone skin is really sensitive so it's perfect for me! If your skin is a bit better you could try find a better one!) that said, this was only around three Euro so it's perfect & your skin feels so soft after!

Also the tea tree products from The Body Shop are really really good aswell I found, especially the skin clearing foaming cleanser xx

btwwwwww to get the cat eye effect with eyeshadow, use another eyeshadow brush and angle it at your in a cat eye way and do your eyeshadow as its still there so it stops you from going out of shape :)))

if your skin gets better when the sun is out, try 30 drops of vitamin d3 and one capsule of vitamin k2 a day :) it helps a lot and you can usually just get vitamin d3 over the sun ( that's why it's better when the sun is out) also depression sometimes better with a steady vitamin d3 intake (it worked for me :) )

I feel like the issue with this comment (I know no harm was intended) is that, yes, Dodie has great legs, but she also has a very specific body type that make those legs possible, and having another person's body type should not be the goal of any person other than Dodie, tbh. A few weeks ago I woke up with loads more spots than usual but (rather counterintuitively) decided not to wear skin makeup that day, and since then I've only been wearing eyeliner and mascara. It feels great in the summer to not have to be bothered about sweating foundation off, and i think I'm actually ok with having spots now which is good.
I hope you do soon, but don't push yourself - I guess it's something that comes naturally. In the past I've had days where I've worn no makeup and felt crap all day, which is obviously not worth it xxx

for clear skin my high school friends would take a zinc capsule daily, with food or before bed is great as if there is any discomfort won't be felt as you are sleeping (sometimes a little nausea) . zinc will clear up acne fast. your skin will be nicer than hatties in no time

Hey dodie, there's this brand Norwex, and they make really cool wash rags for you face and body. I used to have really bad acne but then I used these with just water and I'm acne free. I was very skeptical because you only use water, no products or anything. But it's amazing. So if you're worried about your skin and stuff, try it ( also I sound like a cringe salesperson)

79 likesmy comment definitely wasn't intended that way- i'm mentally ill myself and that's a huge reason why i'm a fan of dodie's, and the shirt i described is something i'd personally wear to make light of my own depression. however, i definitely don't want to trivialize anyone else's mental illness because that of course is not my place and is very disenfranchising and gross. thank you for bringing this up, it wasn't something i considered when i first posted the comment and i definitely should have been more aware of how selling this shirt would commodify mental illness.

13 likes(Hi Ik I'm late) there are some makeup brands made specially for irritated skin. Also, if you're covering a red spot, put on green concealer under the foundation. It cancels out the red and creates a natural skin tone instead of a just a little less red than before

It would make a clean line and look super cool. A friend of mine also told me to put tape at an angle where you want the wing to be and then put on the eye shadow. :)

0 likesTo keep the sides of your nose going "crusty" (I feel you girl, so many acne scars on sides of my nose) but if you use a hydrating oil free face gel (I just use a cheap one from boots) and a good setting spray (and don't hold back around the nose area, like soak it!) I find the make-up lasts way longer around there and doesn't look as shit when it starts to come off! You're so beautiful anyway though, I love your freckles so so so much I'm hella jealous

4 likesI used to get a crusty nose everyday, and really badly, but I started putting on a bit of Dream Cream from lush at night at in the morning and its honestly changed my life! Its the best thing ive found for dry skin, especially if you have psoriasis or eczema
1 likeSarah I literally use the cheapest one I can find but it's the Johnson & Johnson clean & clear gentle hydrating wash (It's for young kids but my 18 y/o acne prone skin is really sensitive so it's perfect for me! If your skin is a bit better you could try find a better one!) that said, this was only around three Euro so it's perfect & your skin feels so soft after!

0 likesif your skin gets better when the sun is out, try 30 drops of vitamin d3 and one capsule of vitamin k2 a day :) it helps a lot and you can usually just get vitamin d3 over the sun ( that's why it's better when the sun is out) also depression sometimes better with a steady vitamin d3 intake (it worked for me :) )

Although, I'm interested about the things,whatever you'd call them, that she has around the nose. I do have the same things, just that mine look WAY worse (and I do have it for quite some time now...for years) and they expand at times, towards the cheeks and down to the mouth. When I use moisturizing cream, they just go away for a while, but if I stop using it, they come back after a week or two. I'm too much of a coward to go to the doctors, don't ask. But I do assume it has to do with dry skin?
Anyone else with the same issue that could enlighten me on the subject?
