Hard Meat ..... Hard Meat was a British progressive rock band active between 1969 and 1971. It was founded by brothers Michael Dolan born in Birmingham (1947 - August 2, 2014) [guitar, lead vocals) and Steve Dolan (1948 - May 22, 2000) (bass, vocals), with drummer Mick (different Mike) Carless.
The trio’s debut single was a cover of the Beatles song “Rain” b / w “Burning Up Years” on the 1969 Island label. This was followed by two albums released by Warner Bros. in 1970: Hard Meat and Through a Window. Their second single (taken from the latter album) was “The Ballad of Marmalade by Emma and Teddy Grimes,” based on the lives of two famous Colchester tramps. Despite touring Europe and the US, none of the albums were successful on the charts, and the group soon disbanded.

Osnovali su ga braća Michael Dolan rođeni u Birminghamu(1947. – 2. kolovoza 2014.)[gitara, glavni vokal) i Steve Dolan (1948. – 22. svibnja 2000.)[(bas, vokal), s bubnjarom Mickom (različito Mike) Carlessom.
Debitantski singl trojca bio je obrada pjesme Beatlesa "Rain" b/w "Burning Up Years" na etiketi Island 1969. godine. Nakon toga uslijedila su dva albuma koja je objavio Warner Bros 1970. godine: Hard Meat i Through a Window. Njihov drugi singl (izvađen s potonjeg albuma) bio je "Balada o marmeladi Emmi i Teddyju Grimesu", temeljen na životu dviju poznatih Colchester skitnica. Unatoč turnejama po Europi[9] i SAD-u,niti jedan album nije doživio uspjeh na ljestvici, a grupa se ubrzo raspala.
Novozelandski bend The Human Instinct obradio je "Burning Up Years" na istoimenom debitantskom albumu iz 1969. godine.
