if tech sources online say DONT KILL CRITICAL PROCESSES YOULL CORRUPT UR PC, dont listen to them. just check if ur pc is doing an update in the background and if it isnt, its perfectly safe to crash ur computer

I accidentally did that once in Windows XP MCE v2005 cuz I was playing around with stuff like mspaint notepad, and even Windows Media Center (cuz this is XP MCE) during setup, and even explorer.exe in OOBE, then I saw that it didn’t minimize to the taskbar, it minimized above the taskbar. Then I logged off and saw that I was logged in to the SYSTEM account. I eventually created a new account. It worked! It fully minimizes instead of above the taskbar.
@@flowey5218 Its impossible to log in SYSTEM with LogonUI you need to Replace sethc.exe to cmd.exe and press shift 3 times when you are in Logon Screen and will appear cmd and on it type explorer.exe or userinit.exe

1:19 You CAN make explorer work without ending the regsvr32 processes by first going into regedit, changing SystemSetupInProgress to 0 (you only need to change this one value), and only then starting explorer (you don't need to reboot before starting explorer). It will register it's stuff like normally, and you won't need to skip anything to make it work.

I had windows 7 basic on a mini-laptop. After too many upgrades and an automatic windows 10 download, it became unusable. By way of recovery, I put on the original OS. Completely clean, in original bought state and used off-line. No troubles.
This video actually helped me install windows 7 as i accidentally reset my vm and i didnt want to restart the install so i followed what you did and now i have a fully functional windows 7 vm. Thanks Enderman!

Good sir, I just want you to know that this video of destroying the windows 7 installer actually helped me install Windows 7 on a modern Pentium n3700 machine, Which would crash at that exact part of the installer you stopped it at. So using this method i was able to get past the installer error and install windows 7 and the appropriate drivers for all except the touch screen.

Go to his software repo at https://malwat.ch/software and then download Rufus, Windows 7 (x86 or x64 depends on your processor, so look up if your model is a 4 bit or a 32 bit computer if you don't know already), and Chew7. Use Rufus for creating the USB and use the windows 7 ISO for the USB, put the USB into the computer, and turn the computer on. If it boots into Windows setup, do a custom install, delete any existing partitions and install it on the unallocated space. If you still see the missing operating system text, try going into the boot device menu (How to enter it depends on your computer, so look at the text it shows under the manufacture logo when booting it up to find out.) and choose your USB. After doing the custom install, you will eventually see that it asks you for a name and password. Simply fill it out like you would if you used it for the first time. Then use the Chew7 tool to activate it, and use windows update to get the drivers. Hope this works.
First step: boot into Windows second: download the media creation tool third: use that to make Windows usb fourth: install Windows from your usb fifth: realise you have no OS so throw the pc out a window and get a Mac. Problem solved in a horribly hard to read reply

0 likesI accidentally did that once in Windows XP MCE v2005 cuz I was playing around with stuff like mspaint notepad, and even Windows Media Center (cuz this is XP MCE) during setup, and even explorer.exe in OOBE, then I saw that it didn’t minimize to the taskbar, it minimized above the taskbar. Then I logged off and saw that I was logged in to the SYSTEM account. I eventually created a new account. It worked! It fully minimizes instead of above the taskbar.

2 likes1:19 You CAN make explorer work without ending the regsvr32 processes by first going into regedit, changing SystemSetupInProgress to 0 (you only need to change this one value), and only then starting explorer (you don't need to reboot before starting explorer). It will register it's stuff like normally, and you won't need to skip anything to make it work.

Go to his software repo at https://malwat.ch/software and then download Rufus, Windows 7 (x86 or x64 depends on your processor, so look up if your model is a 4 bit or a 32 bit computer if you don't know already), and Chew7. Use Rufus for creating the USB and use the windows 7 ISO for the USB, put the USB into the computer, and turn the computer on. If it boots into Windows setup, do a custom install, delete any existing partitions and install it on the unallocated space. If you still see the missing operating system text, try going into the boot device menu (How to enter it depends on your computer, so look at the text it shows under the manufacture logo when booting it up to find out.) and choose your USB. After doing the custom install, you will eventually see that it asks you for a name and password. Simply fill it out like you would if you used it for the first time. Then use the Chew7 tool to activate it, and use windows update to get the drivers. Hope this works.
