These sounds are just so great and "dream like", it might be nostalgia talking but I really think they are special

There needs to be a sound pack for the PS5 or an “Enable Retro Sounds” option, this feels so much more like an otherworldly console

These sounds alone contain so many memories, especially about the time when I first bought the console. Silent Hill 2, Tekken 4, Devil May Cry, Onimusha, Metal Gear Solid 2. Good times.

What’s great with each PlayStation is that they all have their own style, sounds, and unique identity. The PS2 wouldn’t be as nostalgic if it carried over to the PS3 or PS4, and we get to be nostalgic about the PS3’s cool sounds as well!

Takes me back to my childhood in the early/mid 2000s. Used to get legit chills and creeped out when I would turn my PS2 on when I was alone in my room at night with a dark hallway behind me. But man, the games I played on that system left me with great memories. Always was a big Namco fan so I had almost their entire library back then.

Definitely throws me back to my childhood as well, holy cow... I don't think I ever would've realized as a kid how good these sounds actually were, even if... some parts got scary sometimes, but it really is so different, almost surreal to listen to it. As a kid I don't think I ever would've felt as if I was staring at a sunset or a bright starry night sky sitting just listening to the ocean... c'mon I know for a fact I couldn't have been the only one to just hear the ps2 be such a soothing ocean (◡‿◡✿)

When I was young my cousin had a PS2 and we would play a LOT toghether with it. I always loved the startup sound...and I have to say PS2 sounds fit way better in this UI than the original sounds.

This would actually be really awesome to do on the PS4 at least, since it has a huge variety and of themes, you could have like a ps one ps 2 and ps3 theme with accompanying sounds like a lot of the themes there does, with a the sounds replaced with those sounds including the startup. The PS5 essentially made themes redundant since it blends in everything way better than the ps4 did.

It would be much more enjoyable than it is now.

No way... This remember me of a lot of weekends when i was with my friends at my place. even tough i am 15(and have a ps4 for about 1 year)my parents gived me ps2 in my 7-8 year birthday, it was historic seeing how much can a tiny console do. God of war, Dragon ball, Resident evil, Gta San Andreas and so much others.
I literally speended days and more days playing classic games, but, all of it ended when my ps4 arrived, i couldn't have two consoles at the same time so i upgraded for gen 8. But, when i was playing Astro's playroom night time on my cousin's ps5, i almos cried and just felt so much nostalgy, and... Realization for hearing this tone again. I think i'll try to get my ps2 back with my memory card someday.

I remember when every time buying a new console would open a realm of new possibilities, now, I’m only interested in the cutting edge. VR was the only thing recent that got me excited for the future.

Maybe the sounds just seem outdated now because we've all easily spent 1000+ hours over the course of our PS2 gaming days but, man, I remember first time I got my PS2 and it just sounded so futuristic, like really high end technology! Good days!!

I remember falling asleep and waking up to this sound because a friend forgot to turn the system off and it was just on the main menu screen playing that creepy sound.

If you used the PS3 PlayStation store sound effects for tgis, then it would really be epic. Using the PS2 sounds on PS5 are good, but it's like pouring oil on water, they just don't mix (for me anyway). PS2 is like being in outer space, while PS5 is like being in meditation.

The PS2 sounds fit naturally with the UI, it's hard to believe they are not actually part of PS5 interface...

This is WAY better than the original sounds. If there's a way to mod or program these in, someone pleaaase do so.

I found my self playing my PS2 a lot and I sold all my systems: xbox one, ps4, dreamcast, nintendo 64 and about to sell my wii and maybe switch even dough I don't even play it. The PS2 football era where so much better and fun. I got all the maddens and ncaa football games because i'm playing my career on ncaa so i can make it to the pros and transfer my character to madden. I don't even have nostalgia for this kind of stuff but even I could tell there's a certain charm to the PS2 and just consoles back then in general. Was a SNES, PS1, GameCube, OG Xbox kind of kid and it sucks. The music. The atmospheric ambience. They just don't make them like they used to anymore.
