Do you remember when Rainbow Dash was teaching Fluttershy how to cheer more loudly in the opening segment of Sonic Rainboom, in season 1? This episode's opening segment was a reversal of that, with Fluttershy teaching everyone else how to cheer quietly.
They were also both the 16th episodes of their respective seasons.
15:38 Fluttershy: "Does this bring to mind any images for you?" Bees actually do communicate through waggling the abdomen/hind section like that. But of course, that isn't the way we humans would interpret such a motion. :)
Yep, that's right, the number of waggles, combined with how quick or slow they are, are coordinates to where they can find pollen, and how far away said pollen is. Fluttershy really does understand the behaviours of all animal lives.
Sometimes it's pretty hard to understand what the "kind" thing is to do. I myself don't like to push my family and friends to do things they don't want to do, but when it's something they have to do, I have to do so because it's what's best for them. It hardly ever feels good, but sometimes, it's the best thing you can do.
From what I’ve gathered, this episode kinda has a bad reputation of being one of S4’s weakest. To me, I have no problems with this one. Sure there was the fact that the Breezie’s were taking advantage of Fluttershy’s kindness too far, but that was a minor annoyance in my opinion. And personally, I like the Breezie designs of the Mane 6. I may not understand why some people cringe at the sight of them, but to each their own I guess.
@@ft.jackjimmy7282 It is funny how many older fans and especially male fans treat this series as if it isn’t funded by Hasbro and targeted at 2-7 year old girls. I try to view it not by comparing it to other series for teenagers or adults but instead by how it compares to other shows of its type and age range. To me that is what makes this show really good, as someone with several younger siblings or cousins who were in the intended age range when this show began I will definitely say it does it’s job far better than any other series made for little kids that I’ve seen, and I can’t complain about girly toys being put in the show when I loved Power Rangers as a kid and that show is basically one huge toy commercial every episode. Anyone treating “girly” or “for kids” as a criticism needs to be reminded that they are watching My Little Pony. What did you expect? 😆
Usually the people that complains forget this is a little girls cartoon. I’m a 20 something woman and even though the designs are childish, it’s not as bad in my POV of a girl.
Every rainbow moment is putting the character’s element of harmony to the test. Rainbow had to deal with the problem of having to choose your loyalties between two different groups. Pinkie Pie had to learn not to let her pride regarding her ability to entertain and to create laughter keep her from actually doing what will make her friend happiest. Fluttershy here has to learn that sometimes what you think is the kindest action in the moment may be harmful in the long run, and that in some situations the kindest thing you can do is stand your ground and speak up against someone, even if you feel bad in the moment for doing it. But there has to be a compromise. Just being aggressive and rude like Seabreeze was is no more effective than being submissive and afraid to do what you know is necessary like how Fluttershy was. This is similar to the message I think Putting Your Hoof Down was trying to convey, but I think they handled it a lot better here. Fluttershy needed to learn that sometimes assertiveness and disagreeing with others is necessary, but in both that episode and this one with Seabreeze we see how you need to have restraint so that you don’t just end up being a jerk.
Bon Bon
I think the moral is to let go of someone in order to be free... a good example would be parents having to let go their kids when they old enough to become independent.
I like the Breezies (especially the ridiculous Swedish accents, the one holding up the thimble kills me with cute) and I even like Seabreeze, but that--I dunno what it is, a body suit?--is hideous. Why did so many new s4 designs go heavy on black? There's only a couple of instances throughout the season in which it works (REMEMBER: NO SPOILERS, FOLKS) and this isn't one of them. Also, the Breezies' entire contrived set-up--requiring a "just right" breeze to continue their very existence--seems implausible even for a world in which sunrise and season changes have to be performed manually. It's not even really necessary to the plot.
Yeah, I'm surprised too. There were much worse episodes in this show. OK, I would say that the moral was a little bit unclear, but other than that, this episode was pretty solid, and it definitely has some rewatchability factor :J
00:07 Possibly to the phrase "It ain't easy being cheesy" ;) 00:54 Well, Fluttershy mentioned her Breezies-related trip in "Three's A Crowd" a couple of episodes ago ;) (the one with that cute hat :J ) 01:37 Oh, the ladybug is here. This means that the portal is open somewhere nearby :> (Remember that other ladybug next to the portal in the Equestria Girls universe? :> ) 02:13 This scene is a complete reverse of that other scene in which Rainbow Dash was coaching Fluttershy how to cheer ;) (in "Sonic Rainboom") 03:19 Not the first time Rainbow Dash does that ;J 03:53 Oh, they''re not from this universe. They started coming to Equestria only recently. 09:30 Yeah, that's much worse than what Spike did :q Just sayin'... 01:08 Curse words – the thing you learn first in every language :J 14:18 That looking at her hoof to check if she didn't step on him by accident :D 14:46 Well, that's the Doctor and Rose :J With their special 3D glasses ;> It's a reference to one of "Doctor Who" episodes. 15:40 Flutterbee :D Did I mention yet that this is Fluttershy's metamorphosis season? ;) 18:25 Pegasi are helium-soaked :) 20:04 Sea Breeze said earlier that they can understand pony language, but not enough to be able to speak it themselves. 20:45 If a pastel-coloured pony from as harmonious kingdom as Equestria says that this is paradise, then it really must be one :q 22:07 See? Another ladybug, and another portal ;> (And this ladybug has seen things that cannot be unseen :D ) 22:12 "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaₐₐₐₐₐₐₐₐ.....!!!!" :D
Regarding 14:46 -- Does that make the Breezies evil robotic villain #1 or evil robotic villain #2? How much longer does Rose have in Equestria? Does the Scandinavian accent foreshadow a scene on the beach? So many questions...
This episode is one of the best singular episodes in the entire run of the show. The lesson on Tough Love (and when to apply it) is great, as well as the fact that it sticks for Fluttershy.
Honestly i prefered G3 breezies than the G4 ones... Probably because G3 ones are not jerks who take advantage of fluttershy and they are actually great helpers and nature take carers who assist ponies from time to time in celebrations. But then again its probably i also have bias towards G3 as a part of my childhood :p
I usually skip this episode, even with other blind reactors, but this time . . . I just couldn't do it for one simple fact; I knew you were a Fluttershy fan. For that reason, I knew I couldn't skip this.
Also, a thought occurred to me while watching this reaction. After seeing the show so many times, I can't believe it took this long, but here is my thought; if Twilight had a spell that could transform other races into a template of other races, why not reverse the process and make the Breezies into ponies? At that point, they'd have no trouble walking to their home, but Twilight must accompany them in order to reverse the process on the other side. Once there, they fly in through the portal, and vwalla! Problem solved. And before you argue with me that the Breezies wouldn't know how to walk since they never did it as ponies before, that excuse should also apply to Applejacks and Pinkie Pie's knowledge on how to fly. But, since they picked it up seemingly by instinct alone, then there is no reason to suspect that the reverse wouldn't teach the ponies how to walk.
Better still, transform the Breezies into pegasi. Then they'd fly to their home real quick. Clearly, the Breezies know how to fly anyway. This strategy wouldn't be much of an adjustment.
Also, since I know you finished the show by this point, I can point out that Twilight never uses this spell again. How useful would it have been on so many other occasions? Have Twilight copy herself and make all of her friend's alicorns, or how about changelings? Once that is done, they can assume their regular form whenever they want, but keep the flexibility to assume any other form as well at will.
I wonder if this power could also copy Discord's powers as a Draconaquis. If yes, there may be some drawbacks to this for anyone other than Pinkie Pie.
