Edit: More to story: Task manager broke too, so I’ve heard that windows tries to revive task manager. Well it failed and task manager crashed! Now, When I removed the update I had to re-enter the product key, easy right? No. Windows says it’s invalid even when it’s clearly a valid key.

@@TR2000LT I'm not surprised by that, with Windows, anything can happen. Though, I hope you fixed that issue and were able to recover your files, and that it won't happen again. It's not a pleasant experience having to go through that, especially from updates that are supposed to fix problems, not cause them.
That's where that moving Windows logo would be. The script removed the image/animation, so it's now a black box. And, yeah, even Windows 10 is built off pieces of Windows XP and so on. It even has some old icons in shell32.
They actually are. Windows 11 for example shows traces of several different operating systems including(but not limited to) Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 and a lot more

Hey enderman do you use virtualbox, vmware or another PC (which you may not use)? Also maybe try running win xp (because of challenge) without auto boot (those files kernel runs to boot windows to see outside lol). If it will show no bootable disk found then try making it go into dos. Challenge: if you find out how to boot win xp by dos manually you may get 10 k likes.
Can anyone please help me replicate it in qemu? Do i format the VM storage to qcow2, or raw? Do I need ACPI to be enabled? Do I format the drive in NTFS or FAT32?
I've used the Standard PC setup formatted in NTFS, I've used the product key, and the build. I've loaded the script into C:/slimwin I've loaded 1.bat while the WINXP install CD was in the CDROM. Is there anything else I need to do to replicate this?, because the VM crashes when I run the scripts. 😭
Make sure you have a 1.2GB HDD and 256MB of RAM for it to work. Also, during setup, you need to set your computer name to "OMEGALUL" and your username to "a".
