dodie, it's unlikely you'll ever see this, I know that. So I'm saying this for myself more than anything. I've been going through the darkest time of my life I've ever experienced. It's gotten so bad that I've become completely dissociated and feel as if I'm on "autopilot" a lot of the time just to be able to carry on, to be able to keep dragging myself out of bed and back into the terrifying thoughts that are filled with self hate and are impossible to control. I saw you perform at SitC yesterday. It was unreal, you were only a few metres away singing the songs that had helped me through terrible days. And yet for a moment it became the only thing that had felt real in a long time. The thoughts and fear were still there but for just a moment I felt this "autopilot" shut off, for a moment I could believe that I was really there inside this room with hundreds of screaming teenagers, all experiencing and feeling and laughing and loving. For a moment I had hope. Fuck, for a moment I actually FELT something. Of course, after that moment it came back, I was shoved back into the corner of my mind again, back into the fog, back to my reality of not feeling real at all. But I'm still clinging onto that moment of hope. Still telling myself that one day that will be how it will be always, happy, or at least manageable. Thank you dodie, thank you for my hope

Sometimes it's so surreal seeing videos like these. Last year, finally, for my birthday, my best friend and I drove 6 hours to come to an Ohio show of your tour w/ Rusty and Tessa. It was truly one of the best experiences I've had. Looking back on my experience in that small club, with a line to hug you and tell you how much you meant to me, and seeing you in these places with these crowds is so wonderful, both experiences are you. In reality, I just feel like a kid, and I guess I am in some ways, so the confirmations and affirmations of such kid don't really mean anything, of course, but I am truly so proud of you, dodie, keep rocking on. <3
