Discord Visited the Human World

Wouldn't it be funny if Discord went through the portal and literally just stayed the same?

Can we talk about how even celestia can't open a portal but discord can without a sweat?

I like to think that if Discord went to the Human Realm he'd just look like Q from star trek, mainly because theyre played by the same person and have basically the same powerset.

I actually really like the character of Discord especially the comic relief he provides. Once he's reformed he's just all-around sweet.

Well I think that Twilight just won some normal stuffed bear and Discord was like “A carnival? WITHOUT ME ?” and he snapped his claws and poof, Discord plush. Twilight might not have known about the transformation until Fluttershy wacked it out of her hands. Her eyes were closed.

When Discord is threatening to banish Tree Hugger into another dimension, at one point we see sock puppets clearly of Earth origin (I suppose that can‘t be completely verified they don’t exist elsewhere in that form, but it appeared Earthlike). This to me means Discord must know of this place and the object in question to pick this nonsensical vision to scare Tree Hugger. I think it’s almost inevitable with his abilities to travel between dimensions that he spent significant time on Earth at some point.

You might have provided the answer to another question: Why is there a portal pool to Equestria on a random island in the Human World? Answer: Discord created it (and never thought to dispell it).

I think he randomly appears in the human world and allows the humans to treat him as a cryptid. I think he's a cryptid in the human world

I actually kind of like the look of human Discord. But this is certainly an interesting theory.

After we saw that amusement park seemingly based entirely on Equestrian locations and lore, I think there's been more crossover between the worlds than was shown in the series, possibly hundreds of years beforehand, which eventually became their own common-knowledge folklore universe like Camelot is in our world. I wouldn't be surprised if Discord had something to do with that crossover as well, and at the very least he's gotten folded into it after his past appearances.

The reaction of Fluttershy makes me thinking that Discord visited her in human world, but that visit wasn't very nice for her

It wouldn't surprise me if he did. My head cannon is that Discord is a primordial, a being at the beginning of existence and is responsible for chaos existing in the first place. Order is form and chaos is motion after all. Maybe he's responsible for the chaos in human world as well.

Imagine if discord was just a fairy tale character in the human World

Given the amount of magic, artifacts, and creatures that Equestria has apparently dumped into the EQG world over the millennia it would be more surprising if Discord did not go there at some point in time. The bigger question might be, has he gone there since being released from the stone statue he was trapped in for 1,000 years?

This reminds me of something that I think really needs investigating for you to make a theory about. How tf is equestria public knowledge? In roller coaster of friendship there are a lot of references to equestria and I really want to know how they know that much about equestria because it seems like they know way more than what Twilight would have told them about. Basically I want you to explain "Equestria Land".

I definitely think he would've had to make several appearances himself for this to happen. There's no way Twilight alone would've been able to spread the word about him to warrant a plushy being made, let alone one that matches him perfectly.

Discord might be a considered ‘famous Cryptid’ in the human universe, his appearance might strike on to be Cryptid like and there have been cases in real life where a town embrace the Cryptid as well as it becoming widespread that people attempt to make plushies, I wouldn’t be surprised if the town Equestria Girls takes place in has special treats created in Discord’s image or personality

I could see his human version as a superintendent to the school (similar to Gary Chalmers from The Simpsons ). I think he would be the complete opposite to Discord from Equestria: instead of chaos and mayhem, it's order and precision.

I demand a Discord spin-off!

I think one of the biggest questions on this topic would be, if Discord did visit the Human world did he still have his magic?...sure the Sirens still had their magic when they were banished to the Human world but still...i mean after all whenever Twilight visited the Human world she was turned into an ordinary teenage girl, so you never know, it could also happen to Discord.

I'd love to find some historical, mythological, or biblical reference to discord. That would set things in stone. Like maybe flying serpent dragon legends are based off his body or something. We all know the writers of FIM loved to dabble in legends, myths, folk lore, history, and even DnD. Other than having magical ponies, that stuff was also what made the show so awesome.

You know how in the season 8 finale when the creatures lost their magic they turned into normal animals?….imagine if it happened to discord and all the animals he was fused with turn back into normal animals 🤣🤣🤣 I would pay to see that just to laugh my butt off 24/7

I would say that given the great quantity of parallels we've seen between the two worlds it's most reasonable to conclude that there's some manner of leakage of ideas even in the absence of actual visits. Thus I don't think that the Discord Twilight won is any real evidence of a visit.

But of course a lack of evidence of a visit is by no means evidence of a lack of a visit. I have no doubt that Discord could visit if he felt like it.

I would imagine that discord would be a celebrity or a local myth in the human world.

I love this theory! I like to think that discord had been messing with humans for so long that none of the stories about him line up, all the legends are inconsistent and contradictory. Some say he's a patron deity of madness and the arcane, others say he's some kind of demon, and some think he's just a cryptid. Perfectly chaotic, just the way he likes his reputation to be.

Are they a gift from some ancient unicorn wizard, or have they just always been around? Portals were more likely as the 2 cutiemarks weren't real ladybugs so it doesn't aply to them.

Below the school there was a giant bucking portal made by Cozy Glow (the one sucking all magic out of Equestria and sending it to other world) tho it was not functional yet back then I guess. Still ladybugs could be interested in this one as well.

He could be known as a beast and/or a monster in The Human World. He might’ve scared people with his chaos and/or took the form of a beast and/or a monster to scare and/or to mess with people. Knowing Discord he could have done so much.

So, he might have known about the human world before Twilight even had and might have NOT gone to the human world and just might have opened a portal. I had always figured that Discord was a fictional character in the EQG world like Tirek is.

I have a question that’s been boggling my head since season 5 finale. Can a change of timeline change someone’s cutie mark?

I do like the idea of Twilight seeing the Discord plushie and not really being surprised, but also consider that this one-second scene doesn't show her first seeing the plushie; she could have reacted to it then, and just gotten over the surprise by the time she was presenting it to Fluttershy.

Finally someone thinks about this! Sawtooth when I saw your portal video I thought, what would happen if Discord went through the portal? I thought I saw a human Discord once, but maybe he did go through the portal, and this is a great theory, as always!

A Questions to dive into:
Do you think about the how the ages and time works between the pony and human worlds? Sunset was Celestia's star student before Twilight, and Twilight has been Celestia's student since she was a filly, but they seem to be the same age. Do the humans age slower than their pony selves?
What about the magical beings that have existed for 1000s of years that have living modern counterparts? Did their human selfs not exist until recent times or did they get reincarnated to match up with the pony world?

I think the ancient mythology concept of Discord idea makes the most sense, especially if Discord were to have a "bright idea" to show off his powers and maybe even set some historical balls rolling. Like the many historic Revolutions or the Renaissance, those were plenty chaotic. Though it would make for a funny fanfic if he were to go through the portal and separate into all the animals he's made of, only for Princess Twilight and the EqG gang to run around rounding him up and sticking him back through the portal.

I actually been wanting to see Discord interacting with the human mane 6 for a loooong time.

Given the fact that he doesn't fallow the same rules as Twilight, I can imagine that he would come in the
human world as he is and he would cause some mischief for fun or help Sunset & the others out with

I remember in one of the comics Discord has a list of a bunch of different universes that he's been to and apparently his dimension does exist outside of the MLP universe.

I like to think of Discord in the human world as a cryptid, a legend (real or fake) of a chaos bringing monster in the ilk of mothman, bigfoot, etc. All your theories on his origin there can work in tandem with this too, but also I see no reason why the idea of Discord couldn't have evolved in parallel with equestria like everything else.

Do you think Discord is the reason for catastrophes like Pompeii or the Dinosaurs perhaps? Depends on if they happened in the equestrian human world but who's to say it didn't?

I think it's a conicidence with the plush. We all know that magic wasn't possible to use with out a magic energy strong enough. Discord was in stone because of the elements and we know how much Discord hates to walk on foot. So I think it's like the Discord lamp thing which Rainbow Dash not understood why somebody would want to have in the first place.

As a resident of Southern New Jersey myself (Jersey Devil turf, where he's quite a local legend and is said to haunt all throughout the Pine Barrens), maybe the Jersey Devil was actually Discord all along, feeling like scaring us, humans out here at every opportunity just for the excitement and giggles whenever he gets bored.

My number 1 pet peeve is that dragons turned to dogs. There are already dogs in both worlds. Plus if a dragon were to be any animal they would be some type of reptile, not a mammal.

I remember that little Discord plush gag in that video and thought it was only that, but it does lead to some interesting questions, and who knows maybe Discord is responsible for all of the magical items that end up in the human world. Great video btw!

Discord surely visited - some - world with smart-phones, motor-scooters and similar tech, unless he "made up" those on his own and just coincidently they work and look similary as ones would normaly do, I think he wouldnt "invent" those independently to be honest

And my headcanon for why Fluttershy reacted so strongly was simply: Discord tried to hit on her and it didn't sit so well with Fluttershy.

Hello Sawtooth 😁 I was watching one of your older videos and it got me thinking…you know how the pony with the upside down horseshoe got his cutie mark right? Well when I was looking at the clips I noticed something… in the episode he seemed to get his cutie mark BEFORE the “unlucky incident” meaning maybe he actually WAS supposed to be something else instead of a clown? Everyone knows Discord travels around the Human World as John de Lancie. From the mouth of the Chaotic being himself, he bothers humanity in order to "Put them on Trial," He has happen to hang out with Ship Captains, pose as several Federal Agents, hang out with a teacher from New Mexico, etc. He also does voice acting. His animated roles included The Angry Beavers, Extreme Ghostbusters, Invader Zim, Duck Dodgers, Max Steel, Duckman, Young Justice, and DC Super Hero Girls as Mr. Freeze. And some show about equine, but that not important. Discord is alive and well in the Human World.

As a Trekkie, I can safely say that if Discord went through the portal, he'd take on the appearance of Q from Star Trek TNG. Command uniform and everything. Half because it's John DeLancie and me fan-gasming, but also because it would make logical sense. Yes, the Fluttershy theory works too.

I have a question sawtooth 🤔, in the video canterlot wedding part 2, chrysalis says "Equestria has more love than any PLACE I'VE ENCOUNTERED". What other places did she encounter and was the changling hive a place that the changlings took over.

Discord appearance is cleary a reference to many figures on many mythologies and cultures, so it's possible that maybe the Discord we know didn't went thru the portal, but he has a counterpart in the human world, maybe as a kind of chimera, or as a character from some culture(s). Discord is a spirit of Chaos, and Chaos is universal, so maybe there is a Discord in the human world, possibly one that doesn't interact with humans as much as he did with Ponies, or is just in the form of a Statue somewere, lol

I think he did...Bc in one episode of FIM, I don't rly remeber which one, he held a cellphone. Cellphones don't exist in Equestria. I mean, ponies don't even use any kind of phones! He must've liked what he saw in the Himan World (He liked the cellphone).

Technically, that plushie might not have been specifically Discord, but a draconequuis in general. A draconequuis is a real mythological creature after all (as oxymoronic as that statement sounds).

This is One of The Things I actually Wanted too see in Equestria Girls, but Never happened.

Hell, even if I was okay with The Infamous Grogar Twist (for whatever stupid Reason,) Discord visiting The Human World would've meant he would recruit The Sirens along with Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow and at least give Equestria Girls an Ending. Not a Great Ending, but still an Ending. Something that SHOWED Equestria Girls was actually important to G4's Story, rather than being a Waste of Time in The End.

Imagine if Discord was a teacher at the school (I forgot the name of the school) and then the whole canon ship between Fluttershy and Discord would be like a teacher-student relationship

Kind of wish they made a short where Pony Twilight is hanging out with the human gang and Discord appears out of nowhere. Would have loved to see the interaction between the human characters and the great Lord of Chaos!

I have three questions about the show as of right now, and I've been trying to figure them out but I can't. If anyone has any ideas please reply😭


1: What happened to AJ's parents?


We never learn of how they passed on, but I feel like they should still be alive. When we saw Twilight's parents during her coronation when she first became a princess, we see them in the isles and look to be of a decent age. And we also see Rainbow Dashes parents and Fluttershy's parents, so what happened to AJ's?


2: Why Is Clozy Glow So Evil?


I honestly don't understand why she's like this. I meen we never see her backstory, or who her parents are. I'm thinking that maybe she is an apprentice of a villain that we don't know about. Maybe that villain was obsessed with power, and ruling over others that it had turned out to be a bad influence on Clozy Glow. Maybe this explains why she has always been so power hungry, who knows.


3: Where Is The Real Grogar?


In the end we find out that Discord had been disguised as Grogar all along, but we never see the real Grogar. So where is he? This doesn't particularly meen that he doesn't actually exist, it could just meen that he could be out there, somewhere in Equestria, that nobody knows about. Like it would be pretty cool to see the real Grogar.

I really like the idea that Discord just pops in and out of the human world to freak people out. He would be a cryptid of the likes of Big Foot and the Loch ness Monster.

Maybe Twilight saw the Discord plushie and thought Fluttershy would like it since she and Discord are good friends but it didn’t go as she thought. That would show that Twilight didn’t tell Fluttershy about Discord.

I think Discord visited the Star Trek universe several times. Massive thumbs up to whoever gets this reference.

I do think Discord has traveled to the human world, and I think he still does honestly. He seems to have a prominent awareness of our cultures, technology, and even history, all demonstrated in Discordant Harmony. What does this mean though? Did he mess with the humans and became a sort of creepypasta figure? Did he try to stay hidden? Did he reach out to Sunset Shimmer? If he did, how did it go? If he didn't, why not? The two are similar in a lot of ways, beyond the whole reformed villains angle, so they'd probably make good friends. If he had a human counterpart, where is he? There is a lot to unpack with this concept, but unfortunately it never panned out, cause according to the show staff "It's difficult to translate his chaotic character into a human form." Which is honestly disappointing. I like this video Sawtooth, but I would love to see a follow up video, cause now you've me ask the bugger questions: if Discord visited the human world, what did he do there, and what could he have done if Equestria Girls continued?

Maybe Discord is EQG's equivalent of the mysterious "Jersey Devil", the Bat-like Wing, the Hoofed Leg, the Antler, the Humans of EQG might consider him to the Jersey Devil based on such certain features.

Well there are creatures like Chimeras and Alebrijes in our mythology, so totally possible he would be considered a mythological creature.

The thought of discord dispersing into different animals terrifies me and I dont know why.

i don’t think he has an alternate human discord, since he’s more an an entity that manifests into a deity in the pony world. which would make him more of an energy or concept in the human world than an actual creature

Fun fact: there is a Bavarian folklore about the Wolpertinger, which is said to be a creature with body parts from several animals. Being bavarian, i always thought discord was some kind of Wolpertinger.

I think if your visitation in his regular form theory is true perhaps he is considered a cryptid in the human world: a creature that is said to exist(like the Loch Ness monster) But has never been proven to exist.

A theory I have is Discord may be just a fictional character in the human world. I think this might be since characters like Tirek and the Maniac were referenced in EQG being video game characters

Discord could of visited a long long time ago and become a kind of myth or legend and is like a story people tell their kids, and might be why he's a plushy, also could be that the story's could be scary and that might be why fluttershy had a startled reaction.

What if Discord was a plushie that got torn apart and stitched back up from many different pieces of other plushies and then somehow came to life?

I think it's pretty likely that Discord went to the human world and tried to interact with Human Fluttershy, but he just scared her and now she's just afraid of him.

Alternatively, Discord is the plush and wanted to see what happened if Human Fluttershy saw him without context, and Twilight convinced him to stay in plush form somehow.

Maybe a mix of both?

Stupid idea: Discord is part of a tv show or video game franchise in the human world.

One thing to account for is that, no matter which version it is, the character of their respective world carries over at least one trait that's exactly the same as in the other world. Sci-Twi's love for research, Trixie's love for stage magic etc. Even if there are aspects that were adapted for their respective worlds there's always that one thing that's exactly 1:1.

Discord? The only thing that could feisably be the same in both worlds without any change that I can think of would be his status as something unlogical. His physical form makes no sense, even in Equestria. So for that to carry over how would you so it? You would put him into a story. Maybe in a movie or video game. Heck-maybe he's a DnD villain! Either way, this would explain why the plushie was made in Discord's exact image (as oppose to him being a myth or legend, which would make the design adaptable to inturpretation).

So, I have a few things I wanted to mention about the human world
1. Why are Celestial and Luna there? We know that Starswirl died long ago, and we know they existed around the same time he did, so surely they should be dead too right?
2. The crystal empire was sealed away for 1000 years, as we know. But that wouldn’t have happened in the human world, so would the current crystal prep students be the ancestors to those crystal pony’s human forms?
3. We’d assume that every pony has a human counterpart, which would mean that every couple would have to be the exact same in the human world as it is in the pony world, so if Fluttercord is canon, and they had a child, that child wouldn’t exist in the human world, along with many others.
4. WOULD FLURRY HEART BE ILLEGLE BECAUSE CADENCE IS A TEACHER AND SHINING IS A STUDENT?????

Fairs often have unicorn, dragon, and winged snake plushies as prizes. It wouldn't surprise me that they'd have a draconeques plushie. Maybe draconeques-s (Draconequi? I don't know the plural form) have a place in legends like dragons and unicorns. But, neither creature seems to be able to exist in that world since Twilight and Spike change forms every time they visit. So, maybe dracone-whatevers are just another common legend wherever Canterlot High is located. That wouldn't necessarily mean Discord didn't pop by just to cause trouble.

What if all mythical creatures and gods were just Discord trolling all of humanity!

Theory that has no evidence but fun to think about: Discord is a Mothman like figure in the MLP human world. I mean, think about it. In real life, Point Pleasant, West Virginia whole town is centered around Mothman. Who’s to say that there isn’t an equivalent to that in the MLP Human World for Discord. Well Discord has its own ways travelling dimensions.. but not quite specific on how much often or how many dimensions He goes to.. Remember the episode (make new friends but keep discord)? Well he knows about a certain dimension which He gives a distinct description about what that dimension is.. So my point is if Discord knows the human world then clearly He would be curious enough to investigate on what it has to offer.. well that's Discord alright.. Theoretically He's powerless in the human world.. So he rathers stay on Equestria..(just my opinion)

Discord would become some sorta local legend "the creature with horns and wings, a mismatched freak of nature with yellow and red eyes!" he'd basically be some kind of ghost story

And you completely skipped over the fact that in the pony world, Discord and Fluttershy are good friends. Maybe Equestria Girls just put that scene in to show that the two universe Fluttershy's are different people. They could have used any of the mane six, and they specifically chose Fluttershy.

I'd like to remind you about the collab you did with Canned Cream way back in the day talking about the possible existence of the "Elements of Disharmony." You brought up the Alicorn Amulet, suggesting it might have been an Element and I started keeping track of magical artifacts that seemed to have similar properties. I found three others:

Rarity's Book from Inspiration Manifestation, Juniper's Mirror from Mirror Magic, and Stygian's Shadow from Shadow Play. All three have similar properties to the Alicorn Amulet:
They all had a corrupting use on the user, becoming more intense as the artifact was used.
They all bonded to the user in such a way that even if the object itself was removed from their possession, the power stayed with them; just as only the wearer could remove the Amulet (the Shadow is a bit of an exception as the Elements of Harmony were used to overpower its grip on Stygian).
And they all "called out" to a user. The storekeeper who sold Trixie the Amulet said as much, as did Stygian about the Shadow. The magic that possessed Juniper's mirror seemed to seek her out, and when Spike found the Book, it seemed too convenient a coincidence to be pure chance.

Now that is a theory I can ascribe to: Four artifacts that all seem to have similar magical properties? Are they part of some kind of collection? Are there others we never saw?

Well I might know a reason as to why there was a Discord Plushie in the Human World. One simple answer....PINKIE PIE.

I mean think about it. as we know in Equestria Girls, The Pinkie Pie of Equestria Switched Places with the Pinkie Pie of the Human World (Offscreen) Which is why Pinkie Pie knew Twilight was from an alternate world, because she is too. and even when she tried to get back even before the Portal Closed, she couldn't and her Human Counterpart is now in Equestria for 30 moons.

Maybe during the Season 4 Era, which happens before Rainbow Rocks, Pinkie Pie of Equestria tells someone about Discord, So that must be the reason as to why there was a Discord Plushie. Heck, Sawtooth...Pinkie Pie even has a Gummy Plushie, it's possible that the Gummy Plushie was made by the same person as the Discord Plushie.

Here's a theory for you discords magic in season four tirek takes that magic and is able to control just fine cause he gains powers sure he cant fly but his magic is stronger and not only does he have pony magic but chaotic now too but here's the problem, in season 9 he said no one else but discord can control chaos magic if that's the case Why did he take it in season 4 and used grogars bell rather than taking it for himself to be stronger than the other two if he did get stronger using chaos magic then he could've easily taken out his teammates and if so why would he say no one can control it, my idea is the newer the magic the easier it is to control and the older the magic the stronger and harder it is to control twilight has issues using higher level spells because the spells are older than she is, and discord is alot younger than Tirek that's why tirek was able to handle that magic because he was older than discords powers while chrysalis is old too she is more likely younger than discord and Tirek and she cant use much powerful spells that's why all she can do is transform levitate and blast while cozy glow was given the chaos magic we have to remember young unicorn magic and pegasus still have issues with their abilities and since she was just recently give the magic and she was just turned into an alicorn, she definitely would have issues managing that chaos magic because shes not only not used to the alicorn powers but she dealing with older magic

When she sees the plushie, she instantly goes into fight or slight mode, and well, shes not a Pegasus here, so fight it is!

I've personally seen that kind of INSTANT reflex associated with trauma before, almost like your brain registers that you need to defend yourself before your mind does. But hey, thats just my thoughts.
