Teški simfonijski progresivni rock bend NORTH STAR osnovan je 1976. godine. Sviraju glazbu koja je ispunjena uskom, složenom glazbom s mnogim promjenama ritma i neparnim vremenskim potpisima. Najistaknutiji je zapanjujući klavijaturist Kevin Leonard, kojeg ocjenjujem kao jednog od najboljih klavijaturista progresivnog rocka. Također su dobili sjajne skladbe i cijeli bend to izvodi vrlo dobro, jer su svi dobri glazbenici. Uzbudljiv bend koji vas uzbuđuje! Klavijaturist Dave Stewart ovdje je još jedan veliki igrač, koji donosi atmosferu sa zvukovima tipkovnice pogonjenim zasićenjem ventila.

Ovo je izvanredna glazba - Canterbury u svom najboljem izdanju!Nemojte se zavaravati s ovakvim uvodom, to ne bi trebalo značiti da NORTH STAR nema o čemu pisati kući. Imaju jaku melodijsku komponentu, vrlo vješt klavijaturist i njihov pjevač se toliko trudi zvučati kao Gabriel. Ali ovo izdanje je definitivno zaboravljivo; ne uspijeva stajati među ostalim zaklonjenim CD-ovima iz 80-ih (bilo je dragulja, vjerujte mi!). Ako ste u bendovima nadahnutim GENESIS-om/ELP-om, možete ga isprobati, ali nemojte postavljati previsoka očekivanja. Uglavnom kolekcionarski predmet.ladislav&zivanovic…….

The most prominent is the stunning keyboardist Kevin Leonard, who I rate as one of the best keyboard players in progressive rock. They also got great tracks and the whole band does it very well, because they are all good musicians. An exciting band that excites you! Good buy! Founded in October 1972. - Disbanded June 1975. - This was followed by some gatherings (1990, 2005)Excellent band from Canterbury School, with extremely researched musical skills, led by former CARAVAN leader and bassist Richard SINCLAIR. Its powerful and characteristic vocals add a lot to music, already rich in instrumentation. Keyboardist Dave Stewart here is another great player, bringing an atmosphere with keyboard sounds powered by valve saturation.
Agreed. But both "The Rotter's Club" and their self-titled first are easily the best albums of the mid-'70s. Basically, "TRC" is probably the next step that the average progo lover should take in exploring Canterbury after the best CARAVAN albums. This is extraordinary music - Canterbury at its best! Don't kid yourself with an introduction like this, that shouldn't mean NORTH STAR has nothing to write home about. They have a strong melodic component, a very skilled keyboard player and their singer tries so hard to sound like Gabriel. But this edition is definitely forgettable; fails to stand among other obscured CDs from the 80s (there were gems, believe me!). If you're in GENESIS/ELP-inspired bands, you can try it out, but don't set expectations too high. Mostly collector's item.ladislav&zivanovic.......

Le plus important est le superbe claviériste Kevin Leonard, que je marque comme l’un des meilleurs claviéristes du rock progressif. Ils ont aussi eu d’excellents morceaux et tout le groupe le fait très bien, parce qu’ils sont tous de bons musiciens. Un groupe passionnant qui vous excite! Bon achat! Fondée en octobre 1972. - Dissous en juin 1975. - Cela a été suivi par quelques rassemblements (1990, 2005)Excellent groupe de Canterbury School, avec des compétences musicales extrêmement recherchées, dirigé par l’ancien leader caravane et bassiste Richard SINCLAIR. Sa voix puissante et caractéristique ajoute beaucoup à la musique, déjà riche en instrumentation. Le claviériste Dave Stewart ici est un autre grand joueur, apportant une atmosphère avec des sons de clavier alimentés par la saturation des soupapes.

Fondamentalement, « TRC » est probablement la prochaine étape que l’amateur de progo moyen devrait prendre en explorant Canterbury après les meilleurs albums caravanes. C’est une musique extraordinaire - Canterbury à son meilleur! Ne vous faites pas d’illusions avec une introduction comme celle-ci, cela ne devrait pas signifier que NORTH STAR n’a rien à écrire à la maison. Ils ont une forte composante mélodique, un claviériste très habile et leur chanteur essaie si fort de sonner comme Gabriel. Mais cette édition est définitivement oubliable; ne parvient pas à se tenir parmi d’autres CD obscurcis des années 80 (il y avait des joyaux, croyez-moi!). Si vous êtes dans des groupes inspirés de GENESIS / ELP, vous pouvez l’essayer, mais ne définissez pas les attentes trop élevées. Principalement objet de collection.ladislav&zivanovic.......
