@@Foreleus The way I see it, Starlight is naturally magical and powerful but it made her over-reliant on her abilities than to make friends the normal way. As for Trixie, she's not naturally magical at all but she thinks she needs to be powerful in order to be popular and make friends. So there are similarities in their attempt on making friends. True their misdeeds aren't the same because Trixie is a small-time villain like Flim Flam while Starlight is similar to the main villains like Discord, who was also reformed and is part of the mane 6 cast.
Not really, starlight’s misdeeds were more extreme and trixie was corrupted by an amulet and only wore it out of envy and not out of malice or intention of hurting others (i think)
The Trixie we knew before wanted nothing more then to be admired by the crowd, to have them admit she's the greatest unicorn alive, and yet the moment she messed things up with Starlight, she went on stage and called herself pathetic in front of a live audience. It's clear nothing is worth more to her than her friendship with Starlight, apparently including her own life.
'This plate represents your head, this spoon is your heart, and the knives...are sharp!' As DoodledPony said in his Horse series, 'So what you're saying is you want to put a sharp object somewhere between Starlight's head and her heart.'
Ya even Twilight went through learning phases, blowing up her and Spike during Ticket Master and being slower at it in the Applejack episode right after 🤔
Romero exactly! Current known list: Twilight, Starlight, Starswirl, Sunset Shimmer, ( I think Sweetie Bell did it once?). Can Sunburst or Naysay do it? Nevertheless, your right, it’s a very short list. Let me know if I forgot anyone.
It's good that you noticed Starlight is unstable, her main flaws seem to be anxiety and overreaction and that's what she will be working on for quite a while.
@@b14z36 Maaaybeee? Honestly, to me she is a different character but she does parody Twilight sometimes and the show is aware of their similarity. I think Starlight is def more cynical and rebellious than Twilight and her interactions with Trixie are a good indicator of that.
Mlp continues to add main characters to its story (in this case returning characters) . Startrix is definitely a ship that's popular on the fandom and those two have a great connection so I think the writers did a great job on making them friends with each-other
Also, Starlight and Trixie's friendship is more similar to mine. I love to sarcastically joke around with my friends or roasting each other sometimes. And I think their level of chaos and mischief is a great contrast to the mane 6 peaceful nature. It felt like a genuine friendship, they happened to meet each other at a spa but shared the same past.
Which is a very good thing in my opinion, because it really shows how friendship is the way to go and how it can improve people's lives. Friendships makes you stronger, because the more real friends you have, the more things they can help you with (and you can help them), and when people (or ponies) support each other, they get much stronger together. One fills for the deficiencies of the other. Story-wise, it also makes the story more rich and complex, more interesting and engaging, because it allows the viewers to look at a certain problem from multiple different perspectives, something that wouldn't be possible with just a couple of characters (because there's no character who would be good for any type of situation).
You will learn as the season progresses the Starlight has a bad habit of "Magic First, Think Later". It's one of the primary points of her character arc.
The Great and Powerful Trixie has returned! I love it when familiar characters come back into the series, there’s good potential for interesting stories to be told. As for this episode, I definitely found it interesting and fun. I understood why Twilight was being skeptical of Starlight befriending Trixie (for good reasons), but she was being rather overprotective. I still liked that Starlight found a friend in Trixie, since they both had a checkered past in their lives.
You uncovered one of, if not my favorite ships(11:03 you are totally right) in the series startrix, how can you not love two crazy power hungry ponies being friends? This is one of the best season 6 episodes easily(might be the best), this episode progresses characters, have some dark moments(trixie practically tried to kill herself!) and a lot of great comedy. Starlight making jokes about her evil days(that separates her from sunset) is hilarious, her banter with trixie(like at 11:08 ) is fantastic, it makes me wish they had worked together as villains, it would have been a sight to be hold. Twilight had every right not to trust trixie, trixie behaved haughty and specious all along when interacting with her and twi knew that starlight is not the most stable pony.
The voices of starlight and Trixie did work together back in the early 90s in a Conan the barbarian TV cartoon in 1994 that was on Saturday mornings on CBS so they did have chemistry with each other
11:03 - oh, you have NO IDEA!! It's the start of a beautiful friendship between 2 previously 'bad' mares turned good, and a whole lotta taco knocking, as DWK would say :p
StarBurst and StarTrix are both heavily competetive ships, although there's also the StarTrixBurst crowd that I totally understand. They all work together amazingly.
nice was waiting for this one and yeah like its already been stated Trixie does becoming a lot more involved now thanks to Starlight :) and to answer the hair waving question it seems to happen to very powerful pony's over the course of time in most cases. Exceptions being when Twilight took on the other Princesses' magic it got wavy for a brief moment then again when the entered rainbow mode after unlocking the chest. Plus Celestia an Luna lost their waviness after they gave away their magic.
The secret is most likely electricity ;) Drive 60000 volts from a Van der Graaf generator through your body and your hair will float in the air like a charm :)
This was my favorite episode of the season excluding the finale of course. Trixie really grew on me in this episode. She's now one of my top 5 fave ponies in the show.
The best episode of season 6, in my opinion. The amazing dynamic between two characters who were never paired off before, character development for both Starlight and Trixie, great comedic moments, some of Tara Strong's best line deliveries in quite some time, and a fantastic lesson to boot!
This show has so many dark symbolisms hidden behind. It's total fridge horror when you realize Trixie was basically trying to commit suicide because of losing her one friend she ever had.
Trixie's suicide attempt was essential her since she had basically admitted she had pretended to be Starlight's friend to get back at Twilight they needed to show she was truly remorseful and was ready to try a trick that would take her life if Starlight didn't forgive her for what she said she did, she needed to remain likeable and and up as Starlight's friend so she could sacrifice herself for Starlight in to where and back again after all.
Even though Trixie insulted Starlight, am I the only one who felt a bit bad for her when she said “I definitely don't feel like my heart is breaking into a million pieces.”?
"Angel x Starlight ship?" Well, chances are that Angel has enslaved entire civilizations before. Although I don't think Starlight was ever quite as evil as he is. Starlight never slapped Fluttershy, for instance.
I like aspects of this episode, but I really dislike how they wrote Twilight. You'd think that she'd be well past her ridiculous anxieties displayed here by this point, and certainly not blatantly lying directly to Celestia's face.

I know it's your channel and you can do whatever you want, but keep in mind that there are still newcomers who didn't see the show, and recall that you were one of them only a while ago. Remember all those hoops you had to jump through to avoid getting spoiled (or the person who did that for you) just because people spoil major surprises of the episodes right away in their thumbnails. @@ponybroiguess384 That's the thing with recommendations, though: they're not under those people's control. They don't have to subscribe your channel or even know about it. The moment they start looking for MLP stuff, YouTube will start recommending them all sorts of such stuff. For example, I don't subscribe certain MLP channels because of them constantly uploading spoilers, and yet YouTube pushes their content on me all the time, and they spoiled me on several ocasions. I had to use special browser plugins to block them manually, and use YouTube with all thumbnails turned off. It's a real nightmare. It's great that you didn't have to experience this as of yet (though there's still 3 seasons left), but others may not be that lucky. And even if chances are small, 1% chance is enough to ruin someone's fun. So I would rather be for minimizing those chances as much as possible than contributing to the problem. It may also affect your views if people start blocking you for spoliers, as I did in the past. But you'll do what you'll do.
I never considered spoilers in my thumbnails because these episodes came out years ago and i assumed people watching a reaction channel would have watched the episode themselves first. For season 9 i was going to be careful about not putting spoiler stuff since it's so recent, but every other season has over a year of already being aired. I don't think people watch my videos as their first exposure to an episode, and if they get recommended to someone then the picture is from an episode that is years old and is most likely being recommended to someone because they watch mlp stuff in the first place. However, I can see how someone just getting into the show might be spoiled by having it recommended to them, but the likelihood of my small reaction channel being recommended to someone who is just getting into the show is relatively low I think. Plus, most of my thumbnails are relatively small spoilers i'd say. I appreciate your support and this comment though, your comments are some of the ones I look forward to most! I'll definitely keep it in mind :)
Those who want to be over constructive about pony bros thumbnails stop sounding like a cartoon karen. For those who are lightly pointing out a valid point in the comment section then fair enough. At least he's tried not to make it that obvious during later seasons. His channel isn't always going to be first result when someone types in an episode of my little pony where they've happened to have watched all the seasons or not. First user I saw react to the series up to season 4 he vanished out of nowhere. Then I some how found smurfvlogs and now this user. Honestly if spoilers are such an issue (Unfortunately youtube has too many for most airing shows old and new ) Then go watch the series on Netflix. (Not all the seasons are on there ) Then re watch a few those ones and any ones that aint on Netflix then based on prefence find the right youtuber for you who you'd like to see react fairly to the mlp series. (Smurfvlogs and this guy are my favourite when it comes to blind mlp episode reactions and they didn't watch the show when it first came out neither did I thats how it is for some older audiences because I grew up around G3 ) I left high-school when G4 first ever aired.
Not a fan of this episode. All the characters (Twilight, Starlight, Trixie, and even Fluttershy) feel very poorly-written and/or OOC, and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Definitely Nick Confalone’s worst episode, and probably one of my 20 least-favorite episodes of the series.
I hate trixie so much. I believe in second chances, in third... Is harder but i think i can. The think that make me don't like trixie is that she stills hate Twilight. And Twi forgives her like a 1000 times.
Trixie going on with the show is speculated to actually be an attempted suicide with only one hope of survival. It's actually a common thing to happen with suicidal people. Some will become stuntmen simply because they feel their life is meaningless otherwise, so if they go out, they'll test their abilities upto it.
And thus StarTrix was born!

1 likeI never considered spoilers in my thumbnails because these episodes came out years ago and i assumed people watching a reaction channel would have watched the episode themselves first.

0 likesThis is a pretty good episode. Starlight and Trixie have pretty good dynamic. Twilight is not at her best here. Big Mac talking like that is great.
2 likesStarburst is a better ship. It tastes better and many tiny fighter jet pilots have died for it.

0 likesThose who want to be over constructive about pony bros thumbnails stop sounding like a cartoon karen.
1 likeyou know, if you keep doing this forseeing, people will start to question the "blind" part in the video titles

0 likesNot a fan of this episode.

And where startrix first happened, which I like.
0 likesI hate trixie so much. I believe in second chances, in third... Is harder but i think i can. The think that make me don't like trixie is that she stills hate Twilight. And Twi forgives her like a 1000 times.
0 likesTrixie going on with the show is speculated to actually be an attempted suicide with only one hope of survival. It's actually a common thing to happen with suicidal people. Some will become stuntmen simply because they feel their life is meaningless otherwise, so if they go out, they'll test their abilities upto it.
