The very beginning with the fast string and snare drums is my favorite part.

When I look for Pony related music, this is exactly what I want to hear. Thank-you for continuing to put such great effort into this amazing composition and I'm glad that Dan was able to bring it to life even more so than the previous versions.

At 30 seconds, I recognized that this song was very similar to that of Globus - Preliator. This song was probably inspired by Preliator by Globus. Its not a bad thing, rather show good taste in music: excellent work.

I wasn't familiar with Preliator when I heard this back in the day, but I definitely recognize some of those elements coming back to it now... funnily enough after discovering Globus through excerpts used in videos for ANOTHER of my fandoms. 40K satisfies a very different niche than ponies do.

It's almost funny: I heard this song a little while before watching "Magic Duel." When Trixie explained her motives for coming back to Ponyville and she said that because of Twilight, she was humiliated all throughout Equestria, I was instantly reminded of this song.

All the bigger brony musicians know my music with varying levels of appreciation. It's just that the 30k and 13k+ club are usually busy with other big collabs. That, or pursuing a more legitimate path with their music. The only one (I know) who came in kinda elite already was MandoPony. Just about the only criticism I have is that for the epicness I'm having a hard time actually remembering anything specific about the song once it stops playing. I'm just glad that Trixie's story arc has ended on a note of forgiveness and new understanding between Twilight and Trixie. While not the strong note of friendship and friendly rivalry I was hoping for, Trixie can now move on and better herself on her own talents. After all, it's obvious from the ending that Trixie is still the better showmare.

Interesting theory is that the reason he had such a small role is because he's to be the over arching villain of this season.

I can see that too... But what Trixie keeps forgetting, it's not ALL about magic. Just because someone is a unicorn doesn't mean they should place all of that faith on their magic. Just like Fluttershy discovered how to be happy and useful without always using her wings.

The protagonist had been defeated and so they studied and honed their skills to stand up to their rival (in this case Twilight). The song is the protagonist marching toward their rival's home and announcing that he/she is now stronger and will defeat them for their own previous defeat. It's kinda a revenge thing. My album is just epic music, only the first few songs tell a consistent story

Trixie is the best pony she is sadly misunderstood... Trixie was just performing her show and the mane 6 lost there temper stepped out of line (mind you it was applejack who blew her fuse first. Rest backed her up). If anyone has been to a magic show it is similar to trixies they are confident in what they do and extend the truth all there tricks are just illusions. I also find the way she talks as if she is in a 3rd person perspective awesome (she never says I, she says trixie or gpt)

Think about the first episode she was in. She was just a magician in the sense of those we see today, someone there to put on a show. Being boastful and annoying was part of the character. In that particular episode is was the actions of the Mane6 that pushed her to do what she did in season 3. Also some kids left town, grabbed an ursa minor and brought it back home.. that shouldn't have been possible.

I think Trixie would make a fun and interesting side character/friend to the mane six and friendly rival to Twilight if given the opportunity. It would be a great way to teach kids that even people like Trixie can become your friend if given the opportunity. It would be a much better message than just making her the "bad guy" to teach the mane six a lesson like in Boast Busters (Trixie was treated unfairly in that episode in my oppinion).

Everything you say is 100 perecent correct in the fact that Trixie was a bit of a jerk. It just annoyed me that even before Trixie issued her challange and showed everypony up on stage, everypony just complained on and on about how she was showing off and that Twilight was so much better (even though she is XD). It's just a shame that a character with the potential to be a friendly rival to Twilight got used and thrown away as a life lesson on friends accepting your talent. I hope this changes.
