I met dodie about 6 years ago. My wife had recently died and the great algorithm presented me with dodie's video "She - original song || dodie" (Sep 27, 2014). I still break down and cry when I hear it but it soothed my damaged heart as did other of her songs. Since then, I've gotten to know and care for her from afar like so many others. I share some of her mental health struggles, her sense of beauty, her confusion at certain things in life. What is my favorite thing about her? God, there is so much -- her authenticity, her compassion, her willingness to share with all of us, her music, her gentleness. And no, I'm not putting you on a pedestal. I know you are human but that's the point. You are a beautiful, perfect AND flawed human. Much love dodie, Lore 🍃🌿🌱

Dodie is one of the main people who inspired me to start a youtube channel. I've watched her for like 5 years, her videos make me feel like everything is going to be okay, and always help me smile. I started making videos to give people the same feeling of comfort and happiness I get when i watch hers!
I had the pleasure to meet you after y’all’s show in Charlotte, NC in Oktober of 2016. It was the first concert I’d been to alone, having driven 1.5 hours from my grad. school. Arriving early, I grabbed a cheeseburger and a beer across from the venue, rather than feel awkward with the teenage crowd waiting for the doors to open.
The show was excellent.
Thankfully, there was room to stand by myself at the back, to keep my social anxiety in check. After the show ended, as I only had afternoon lectures the next day, I waited for everyone else to get the chance to meet you. My anxiety had peaked by then, not knowing what to do or say.
However, you quickly put me at ease, like catching up with an old friend. I enjoyed speaking a bit of German with you. You struck me as a gentle, bubbly, intelligent, and talented person. Someone it would be good to be friends with. Vielen Dank.

Emotionally colour blind Like you're in a play without the script You're in Madame Tussauds Feeling drunk or kind of sleepwalking Like you're in a fish tank or a bubble Like you're walking around France Feeling desaturated/ pastel etc. Like trying to smell/taste food when you have a cold Faded or ethereal Like lettuce that's lost the crunch (needed to shoehorn a lettuce reference) Like one of those Roman statues with the paint worn off Like a cave, hollow, echo-y Like a pumpkin with the guts yanked out

The first video I ever saw of you was the official video of "Intertwined" and to be honest, I didn't like it. Not even the song or anything. I guess I liked your voice already but as it is with listening to random new songs or musicians the YouTube algorithm shows you, you don't always recognise everything. So, the second video, I guess, was the music video of "Secret for the mad". And even though I still didn't really know whether to like it or not I started watching your other videos and got to know you - and fell in love with you. And your music and your style and your voice and I guess everything else about you.
