As someone who’s birthday is that day, I can confirm that I was crying in bed with the 21 kid playing in my head.

The fact that the voice was getting closer.

The thumbnail is a prime example of symbolism. Seen in the image is the the 21 kid, colossal in comparison to the foreground of the modern day New York City skyline. While it can be assumed at first that this is an allusion to the next day(9/11/21), I believe it has a far greater meaning than this. 9/11/21 marked 20 years since the tragic events of September 11th, 2001, when 3 commercial aircraft were hijacked and steered into the Twin towers in New York city and the Pentagon in Washington DC. A fourth was hijacked but the heroic actions of the passengers forced the plane to plummet into a field in Pennsylvania, rather than into its likely target of the capital. The thumbnail shows the 21 kid stark above the modern day city skyline, as though to say that 9+10=21 vastly overshadows the day of remembrance the following day.
