What made The LEGO Movie successful wasn’t just the interesting cast, the story, or visuals alone. The meta-humor and the twist at the very end is pretty much how many LEGO fans young and old have played with their sets so much that it’s all played out from one’s own imagination!
Unironically, one of my favorite childhood movies,, May have been because the only other videogame apart from FIFA that my neighbor had was this movie's, alas, the movie has top notch meta humor and I'm so down for it!

I think one of the coolest things about this movie is all the numbers master builders see are the actual serial numbers for that individual lego piece.
Man I love this movie. Looking back the beggining is really cool. Also to answer your question: yes Lego Batman is connected to this movie (as in the same universe) the characters just don't reference the Lego movie that much
