Ended up calling that number, the original scammers didn’t even ask me to do a teamviewer, just asked me to pay up $200 to “fix” my virtual machine. Told him no and he hung up.
My mother just got hit by this. She's not a stupid person, far from it, but she's not of the computer generation... so her immediate thought was, the warning is real. I had to take a moment to get across to her that the entire warning was fake. It hits people like that, because it gets them in a state of panic and they don't think critically about it - I guess bad news is so easy to believe, it doesn't occur to them that the bad news itself... is the bad news.
My mom just got it yesterday and even after just watching the movie the bee keeper which is about this scam and getting told by her watch group about this she was going to call them REALLY 😒

i dont think the telephone number is "dead" rather i think that phone number was their "front" (aka a way to hide their illegal activity by providing legitimate business which in this case mightve been travel office or something of soft) i simply think they just messed up and put the incorrect number there or they forgot to put "tech support" to the menu
It is a badly made website, as I visited the website with my phone, the same thing happened, but the funny thing is when I sized the website to its smallet size, the text duplicated. Anyways good video
Hey, can you talk about the "Windows logon reminder" scam? It pops up at random times, and asks you to change your password because "your password is expired". The notification is so convincing, I thought it was real for a second.
It's not a scam actually (assuming it has the keys icon, and doesn't come from chrome or anything). It's telling you that Windows (or at least the NT SAM data) thinks your password has expired. Depending on your Windows edition, the password expiry time can be set by default. If you make a new account (not the OOBE default one, or Administrator), this can also sometimes occur on any Windows edition. To fix it, press ctrl+alt+del, go to change a password, and input your Windows username and your current password three times.
This is the classic variant. There nowadays are even more variants which tries to install signed malware onto yout system, millking even more money out of you!
Me too. It also downloaded a device (I could see it on my taskbar) and when I did a shut down and rebooted in Safe mode my Device and Printers page looked different. Plus, the MS flag there had a warning symbol and when I clicked on it (still in Safe Mode) it said my Malwarebytes, MS Malicious Removal tool and two others were shut down. I clicked turn on for all and they sat in a Pending mode until I did a System Restore to an earlier time. Running MWB and MSMRT showed nothing though. Still makes me nervous but I knew not to call any numbers the popup had been giving me.
if your ctrl+w doesnt work (mine didn't when this link was open) you can also press ctrl+alt+delete and open task manager, and force quit the browder. then clear ur cache and history after
So, just to be sure, does the site put anything into your devices even if you don’t click anything? or is it simply just bait to get you to call them and pay money?

Bro they just asked me to install an application in my pc and i installed it , but after that they asked for an id and password that was visibble to me in that application ,,, but i did not gave them the id and password ,,,, am i safe ?
That same Scam window popped up on my computer today. I didn't click anything fearing it was a virus trying to hijack & get into my computer, and i didn't call the number either. Instead, I unplugged my computer and then plugged it back in and restarted it and ran an AVG virus scan and it didn't have any viruses.
bro it was like 2 in the morning when this happened and i called the number because i was like half asleep and i didnt think properly are they gonna steal my info
He said to close the scammers page press "Ctrl" plus "w" keys. He is SO HARD to understand, I had to listen to that statement 5 times to understand it. I hope this helps any of you that had my problem. Thank you so much for this video.
This just happened to me and I called them they made me download an app where they had control of my machine and made me run code in my CDL Now my computer runs hot without turbo fan control

Hi, I got this on my laptop and it wouldn't let me close it down, kept saying that I should not shut down my pc. I did shut it down hoping that it would be gone. I turned off my WiFi and then switched my laptop back on and ran my Norton 360. It didn't find anything. Will there be any malware lurking on my computer?
omg i got redirected to this page and i was terrified, and i called my dad, woke him up, only for him to look at this page and tell me, "microsoft has no such page." I WAS FUCKING TERRIFIED THAT MY IP WAS ACTUALLY USED AND I HAD TO CALL THE LINE!!!! THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL KIDS
Hi thank you so much for making this :) the website forced itself into full screen and I couldn’t get out of it. I turned it off and it was still there and I did it again and it was gone. I wasn’t sure if that was the right thing to do.. everything seems fine on my computer but is there anything else I need to do ?😭❤️
I got the same thing i did nothing just downloaded team viewer I was worried at first and after i called the customer service it was fake number I canceled Right after i got calls from their customer service when I received i got to know its scam and I didn’t know the key to cancel the window so I shut down pc I searched in youtube to know the reason Do I need to worry about it is my computer safe ??
your computer is safe. That ctrl + w thing only works for this browser and only closes one tab. You can press alt + F4 to close the scam window. this works on every browser. As for the team viewer, you can safely uninstall it. It is used by many scammers to control the victims PC, but once you close TeamViewer or restart your computer, they cant anymore. Have you had to say a number that was displayed in TeamViewer when they called you? If not? then they never even had access to your computer. I hope this cleared up all your concerns, feel free to respond if there's another question
you speak and click VERY fast for an old Southern boy. did you say "ctrl + W" tapped independently or held like Ctrl alt delete or just "ctrl (and or plus) w. W or w? does it matter.? I tried all variations with no effect.

Alright I’m trying to help my grandma clear hers she was about 2 minutes from sending $175 to the scammers. I tried the Ctrl+W and it doesn’t work I’m not the most tech savvy guy
I tried going on the laceysgames website (please don't open the website due to unnerving analog horror images idk) and got something I didn't expect AT ALL. I wanted to go check out more stuff and the website didn't show up. Instead, it put me in full screen and started playing this voice "Your computer has been locked blah blah blah..." and I literally almost peed by pants. I couldn't close out the tab, and when I tried turning off my computer my cursor didn't show up so I couldn't. I almost gave up and saw the number to call it, but then realized I could close out Safari with my dock at the bottom of my computer screen (thank god.) I then decided to search up what it was about, and to my surprise this video popped up and apparently its a scam? Thanks for having this video exist 😭🙏
I was searching on "AMAZON" This just happened to me moments ago. SCARY! I called the number thinking it was a real thing, scammer (seemed real- answered "microsoft tech" and after gaining my trust, he managed to steal my mouse and it put me into a pornhub that I could not "x" out of. My daughter had to help. Be aware, do not call. I was scary.
Thanks for this post. I got this scam today. It is still being used as of 3/2024. The display, audio, and pop-ups were the same. It was the result of hitting the "Sponsored Messages" link on Facebook where I had two notifications (that was kind of scary). I thought about just shutting down computer, but called the number where the man directed me to some sort of security monitor site. On this site, was a DOWNLOAD button which he wanted me to select to start the "recovery" process. I told him I was not going to download anything to my computer whereupon he started telling me how trustworthy this all is. While he was telling me this, I cancelled the window he had directed me to and found I had control of my computer again. Without saying anymore, I hung up.

After confirming an email, they used my computer then after c: netsat, id 199204188 password a8m878kk ( so far a real sucker) then they wanted to see if I had any charges on my bank. I logged in on my phone not pc, then I saw they wanted me to logging into Norton and I said no way. Then they hung up. They said I was on their secure C2 server. Can someone help me turn off or disable any back door here. They went into some tv video sectection while therorectically seaching for a "diagnosis." How bad is it? Help

Do I need to worry about it is my computer safe ??
Replies (1)
your computer is safe.

0 likesI tried going on the laceysgames website (please don't open the website due to unnerving analog horror images idk) and got something I didn't expect AT ALL.

I called the number thinking it was a real thing, scammer (seemed real- answered "microsoft tech" and after gaining my trust, he managed to steal my mouse and it put me into a pornhub that I could not "x" out of. My daughter had to help. Be aware, do not call. I was scary.
0 likesThanks for this post.
