I mean yes Newtopia branded Grime a traitor, but not for the right reasons. It was because he abandoned his post as the ruler of frog valley. Newtopia wasn’t mad because he was oppressing the frogs, they were mad because he WASN’T.
That was a great reaction. It's great to have you back! I'm glad you're doing well. The second episode was my favorite as well. Sasha is quite the character who definitely has issues, and despite her tough exterior and breakdown of her friendship with Anne, she really wants to have a friend and Grime is becoming to her what the Plantars are to Anne.
But like you said, her morality is a long way off and she has no issues with what Grime wants because as you also pointed out she has a controlling personality, and she cares little for people who don't matter to her. The part where Grime told her the real reason why Sasha was upset gave me chills. One of the areas where Amphibia absolutely shines is when it focuses on the relationship between the three teens and we're going to see so much of it.
Quarreler's pass unfortunately was one of my least favorite episodes of this show because I just couldn't believe Hop Pop would ever put Polly and Sprig in danger like that. Toadcatcher really made up for it though.
I think it was with the upcoming episodes I began to feel this show was starting to hit its stride both in terms of storytelling and characterization.
